As one of important members of refractory materials,tungsten phosphide(WP)holds great potential for fundamental study and industrial applications in many fields of science and technology,due to its excellent properties such as superconductivity and as-predicted topological band ***,synthesis of high-quality WP crystals is still a challenge by using tradition synthetic methods,because the synthesis temperature for growing its large crystals is very stringently required to be as high as 3000℃,which is far beyond the temperature capability of most laboratory-based devices for crystal *** addition,high temperature often induces the decomposition of metal phosphides,leading to off-stoichiometric samples based on which the materials'intrinsic properties cannot be *** this work,we report a high-pressure synthesis of single-crystal WP through a direct crystallization from cooling the congruent W-P melts at 5 GPa and^3200℃.In combination of x-ray diffraction,electron microscope,and thermal analysis,the crystal structure,morphology,and stability of recovered sample are well *** final product is phase-pure and nearly stoichiometric WP in a single-crystal form with a large grain size,in excess of one millimeter,thus making it feasible to implement most experimental measurements,especially,for the case where a large crystal is *** in synthesis of high-quality WP crystals at high pressure can offer great opportunities for determining their intrinsic properties and also making more efforts to study the family of transition-metal phosphides.

Fungi are known to be crucial in the formation and stabilization of soil organic matter through their exudates and dead residues(necromass).Yet,it remains unclear how fungi contribute to the persistence of carbon in soils over millennial scales across ***,this study fills the knowledge gap by linking fungal carbon stocks with minerals-associated carbon stocks across major biomes.A strong correlation between fungal biomass and reactive mineral-associated carbon stocks in soils across six biomes supports the substantial role of fungi in soil carbon persistence at the global *** spatial resolution nanoscale secondary ion mass spectrometry revealed that fungi may stabilize carbon by forming organo-mineral associations through their close physical connection to reactive minerals and weathered *** propose a conceptual model that emphasizes the dualistic role of hypha-mineral interactions:(i)fungi accelerate organic matter decomposition by producing reactive oxygen species on the hypha-mineral interfaces,and(ii)fungi stabilize their residues on mineral surfaces,leading to millennial scale persistence of soil ***,fungi play a fundamental role in ecosystems that extends beyond the decomposition of persistent *** are crucial in stabilizing carbon on mineral surfaces,thereby facilitating the long-term removal of carbon from rapid biotic cycling.

Single-shot ultrafast compressed imaging(UCI)is an effective tool for studying ultrafast dynamics in physics,chemistry,or material science because of its excellent high frame rate and large frame ***,the random code(Rcode)used in traditional UCI will lead to low-frequency noise covering high-frequency information due to its uneven sampling interval,which is a great challenge in the fidelity of large-frame ***,a high-frequency enhanced compressed active photography(H-CAP)is *** uniformizing the sampling interval of R-code,H-CAP capture the ultrafast process with a random uniform sampling *** sampling mode makes the high-frequency sampling energy dominant,which greatly suppresses the low-frequency noise blurring caused by R-code and achieves high-frequency information of image *** superior dynamic performance and large-frame reconstruction ability of H-CAP are verified by imaging optical self-focusing effect and static object,*** applied H-CAP to the spatial-temporal characterization of double-pulse induced silicon surface ablation dynamics,which is performed within 220 frames in a single-shot of 300 ps.H-CAP provides a high-fidelity imaging method for observing ultrafast unrepeatable dynamic processes with large frames.

Spiking Reinforcement Learning Enhanced by Bioinspired Event Source of Multi-dendrite Spiking Neuron and Dynamic Thresholds

Deep reinforcement learning(DRL) achieves success through the representational capabilities of deep neural networks(DNNs). Compared to DNNs, spiking neural networks(SNNs),known for their binary spike information processing, exhibit more biological characteristics. However, the challenge of using SNNs to simulate more biologically characteristic neuronal dynamics to optimize decision-making tasks remains, directly related to the information integration and transmission in *** by the advanced computational power of dendrites in biological neurons, we propose a multi-dendrite spiking neuron(MDSN) model based on Multi-compartment spiking neurons(MCN), expanding dendrite types from two to multiple and deriving the analytical solution of somatic membrane *** apply the MDSN to deep distributional reinforcement learning to enhance its performance in executing complex decisionmaking tasks. The proposed model can effectively and adaptively integrate and transmit meaningful information from different sources. Our model uses a bioinspired event-enhanced dendrite structure to emphasize features. Meanwhile, by utilizing dynamic membrane potential thresholds, it adaptively maintains the homeostasis of MDSN. Extensive experiments on Atari games show that the proposed model outperforms some state-of-the-art spiking distributional RL models by a significant margin.

Comparison of the effect of ranibizumab in retinal vein occlusion and macular edema with different optical coherence tomographic patterns

AIM:To explore the morphological and functional parameters to evaluate the effectiveness of intravitreal injections of ranibizumab(IVR)in treating macular edema(ME)secondary to retinal vein occlusion(RVO).METHODS:This retrospective study involved 65 RVO patients(65 eyes)who received IVR and were followedup for more than *** was categorized into cystoid macular edema(CME),diffuse retinal thickening(DRT),and serous retinal detachment(SRD)according to optical coherence tomography(OCT)*** comparison of best corrected visual acuity(BCVA;logMAR)and central macular thickness(CMT)among different follow-up points and those among 3 groups were performed by Kruskal-Wallis *** correlation between BCVA and baseline parameters during treatment was analyzed using Spearman correlation ***:BCVA tended to improve in all groups,with marked improvement in CME and DRT *** showed the greatest reduction after 1wk,and remained stable over the following *** patients had the worst BCVA and the highest CMT at baseline,but the differences became smaller after IVR *** in SRD group was significantly better than in CME and DRT groups 3mo after *** patients of CME and SRD groups transitioned to a normal pattern at 3mo *** patients were most likely to transform into the other morphological groups,while SRD patients showed minimal *** at baseline was identified as the most important prognostic indicator in all 3 ***,DRT patients with a longer clinical course,higher CMT and central retinal vein occlusion(CRVO)tend to exhibit worse BCVA after *** addition,CRVO patients are more likely to have worse BCVA at 2 and 3mo follow-up compared with branch retinal vein occlusion(BRVO)patients in CME *** patients with higher baseline CMT were prone to experiencing worse BCVA after ***:The effectiveness of IVR is strongly correlated with baseline BCVA in all 3 *** parameters inc
