Clinical stages of recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma: A retrospective cohort study

BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the second leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide,and has relatively high recurrence *** studies have been published on the clinical stages of recurrent *** To assess the applicability of the Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC)staging for recurrent HCC and the need to establish clinical stage criteria for recurrent *** The clinicopathological data of 81 patients with recurrent HCC who were admitted to the Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from January 2013 to December 2017 were *** patients were divided into three groups according to the BCLC staging system as follows:(1)Group A with BCLC stage A,51 patients;(2)Group B with BCLC stage B,14 patients;and(3)Group C with BCLC stage C,16 *** median time to tumor recurrence and the median overall survival were *** The median time to tumor recurrence in groups A,B,and C was 16±1.5 mo,10±2.8 mo,and 6±0.5 mo,respectively,with a statistically significant difference among them(χ^(2)=70.144,P0.05),although there were statistically significant differences between group A and group C and between group B and group C(χ^(2)=62.110,and 19.972,P<0.05).The median overall survival in groups A,B,and C were 42±5.1 mo,22±3.1 mo,and 13±1.8 mo,respectively,with a statistically significant difference among them(χ2=38.949,P<0.05);there were statistically significant differences between group A and group B,group A and group C,and group B and group C(χ2=9.577,37.172,and 7.183,respectively;P<0.05).CONCLUSION There are different prognoses in recurrent HCC patients according to the BCLC ***,BCLC staging is applicable to recurrent HCC and it is essential to formulate clinical stage criteria for recurrent HCC.

The robust operation of quantum entanglement states is crucial for applications in quantum information,computing,and communications^(1–3).However,it has always been a great challenge to complete such a task because of decoherence and ***,we propose theoretically and demonstrate experimentally an effective scheme to realize robust operation of quantum entanglement states by designing quadruple degeneracy exceptional *** encircling the exceptional points on two overlapping Riemann energy surfaces,we have realized a chiral switch for entangled states with high *** to the topological protection conferred by the Riemann surface structure,this switching of chirality exhibits strong robustness against perturbations in the encircling ***,we have experimentally validated such a scheme on a quantum walk *** work opens up a new way for the application of non-Hermitian physics in the field of quantum information.

The automatic cutting of intersecting pipes is a challenging task in *** improved automation and accuracy,this paper proposes a model-driven path planning approach for the robotic plasma cutting of a branch pipe with a single ***,it summarizes the intersection forms and introduces a dual-pipe intersection *** on this model,the moving three-plane structure(a description unit of the geometric characteristics of the intersecting curve)is constructed,and a geometric model of the branch pipe with a single Y-groove is ***,a novel mathematical model for plasma radius and taper compensation is ***,the compensation model and groove model are integrated by establishing movable ***,to prevent collisions between the plasma torch and workpiece,the torch height is planned and a branch pipe-rotating scheme is *** the established models and moving frames,the planned path description of cutting robot is provided in this novel *** accuracy of the proposed method is verified by simulations and robotic cutting experiments.

As modern communication technology advances apace,the digital communication signals identification plays an important role in cognitive radio networks,the communication monitoring and management *** has become a promising solution to this problem due to its powerful modeling capability,which has become a consensus in academia and ***,because of the data-dependence and inexplicability of AI models and the openness of electromagnetic space,the physical layer digital communication signals identification model is threatened by adversarial *** examples pose a common threat to AI models,where well-designed and slight perturbations added to input data can cause wrong ***,the security of AI models for the digital communication signals identification is the premise of its efficient and credible *** this paper,we first launch adversarial attacks on the end-to-end AI model for automatic modulation classifi-cation,and then we explain and present three defense mechanisms based on the adversarial *** we present more detailed adversarial indicators to evaluate attack and defense ***,a demonstration verification system is developed to show that the adversarial attack is a real threat to the digital communication signals identification model,which should be paid more attention in future research.

Analyzing topics in social media for improving digital twinning based product development

Digital twinning enables manufacturers to create digital representations of physical entities,thus implementing virtual simulations for product *** efforts of digital twinning neglect the decisive consumer feedback in product development stages,failing to cover the gap between physical and digital *** work mines real-world consumer feedbacks through social media topics,which is significant to product *** specifically analyze the prevalent time of a product topic,giving an insight into both consumer attention and the widely-discussed time of a *** primary body of current studies regards the prevalent time prediction as an accompanying task or assumes the existence of a preset ***,these proposed solutions are either biased in focused objectives and underlying patterns or weak in the capability of generalization towards diverse *** this end,this work combines deep learning and survival analysis to predict the prevalent time of *** propose a specialized deep survival model which consists of two *** first module enriches input covariates by incorporating latent features of the time-varying text,and the second module fully captures the temporal pattern of a rumor by a recurrent network ***,a specific loss function different from regular survival models is proposed to achieve a more reasonable *** experiments on real-world datasets demonstrate that our model significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art methods.

U-Pb zircon ages and petrogeochemistry and tectonic implications of gabbro and granite in southwest Lahad Datu area of Sabah, Malaysia

The southwest Lahad Datu felsic rocks were previously thought to have formed in the late Triassic as part of the microcontinental crystalline *** on U-Pb ages,geochemistry,and the Hfisotopes of zircon from the southeastern Sabah gabbro and granite,in this study,the tectonic properties of the Sabah area during the Triassic were *** weighted average U-Pb zircon ages of the gabbro and granite samples were determined to be(230.9±2.5)Ma and(207.1±3.3)Ma,*** granite had SiO_(2) contents of 66.54%-79.47%,low TiO_(2) contents of 0.08%-0.3%,Al_(2)O_(3) contents of 10.97%-16.22%,Na_(2)O contents of 5.91 %-6.39%,and low K_(2)O contents of 0.15%-0.65%.The chondrite-normalized rare earth element(REE) patterns exhibit light REE enrichment,with right-sloping *** primitive mantle-normalized trace element spider diagrams exhibit Th,U,La,Sr,and Zr enrichment and Nb,Ta,P and Ti depletions,i.e.,the geochemical characteristics of typical island arc igneous *** tectonic discriminant diagram indicates that the granite is a volcanic arc *** Hf isotopic an alysis of gabbro zircon revealed that the zircons have ε_(Hf)(t)values of 12.08-16.24(mean of 14.32) and two-stage model ages(t_(DM2)) of 223-491 Ma(mean of 347 Ma).This indicates that the diagenetic magma of the gabbro was mainly derived from melting of newly formed crustal *** ophiolite in southeast Sabah has existed since the early Late *** crystalline basement granite in southeastern S abah was emplaced lasted from late Triassic to early *** on previous studies and global plate reconstruction models,it is speculated that the southeastern Sabah granite may have been formed in an island arc setting,i.e.,where the oceanic crust of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean collided with the oceanic crust of the Panthalassa Ocean.

The relationship between interannual dry/wet changes and nomadic wars in the Hexi Corridor region of China during the period 241–1912 A.D.

The link between climate and war has long been a topic of great scientific and social *** this study,we investigate the influence of climate on warfare in China’s Hexi Corridor region since 241 *** the superposed epoch analysis of tree-ring data and historical war data,we observe a notable correlation between interannual dry-wet variations and wars instigated by nomadic groups in the Hexi ***,this relationship is dynamic and influenced by the region’s relative *** periods in which the Hexi Corridor was ruled by multiple regimes,wars tended to follow dry climatic conditions,which may be due to the fact that unusual drought during these periods likely heightened competition for resources and ***,during times of regional unity,wars were more likely to occur when climatic conditions were wet because the expansion of rangelands and the accumulation of resources helped fuel the nomads’outward *** findings underscore the complexity of the relationship between war and climate *** gain a more comprehensive understanding of this relationship,continuous,high-resolution historical temperature and humidity datasets with broader and more uniform coverage are needed across multiple *** addition,collecting and examining disaggregated historical war data for regions with distinct characteristics is essential.

Described here is a divergent,biosynthetically inspired synthesis of cochlearol B and ganocin *** steps of the synthesis include the chromene unit construction through a biomimetic acid-catalyzed[4+2]ring cyclization.A photochemical[2+2]cycloaddition was featured to construct the cyclobutane core of cochlearol *** skeletal rearrangements of cochlearol B afforded ganocin A,that one of them was Lewis acid mediated epoxide rearrangement and another was DDQ induced cyclobutane formed tetrahydrofuran *** described syntheses not only achieved these natural products in an efficient manner,but also provided insight into the biosynthetic relationship between the two different skeletons.

Macrophage polarization disorder in the endometrial immune microenvironment may contribute to recurrent implantation failure

Objective:To investigate the role and mechanisms by which macrophages (M Phi) contribute to the immune environment of the endometrium in cases of recurrent implantation failure (RIF).Methods:Endometrial transcriptome data from women with and without RIF (control group) were collected. The CIBERSORT software was used to determine the abundance of immune cells within the endometrial tissue based on expression profiles. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis was used to identify crucial regulatory genes and ***:Application of CIBERSORT confirmed significant infiltration of macrophages in the RIF group. SOX6, TTC21A, KLHL31, NFIA, TNNT1, TPM1, CPVL, FUS, PEX5, and SLC43A3 were all closely correlated with M2 and M0 macrophages. Metascape and DisNor analyses revealed that these genes contribute to the regulation of macrophage polarization via the Wnt signaling ***:This study identified dysregulation of macrophage polarization within the immune microenvironment of the endometrium in patients with RIF. A comprehensive analysis was conducted to investigate the potential mechanisms underlying this disorder. Dysregulation of macrophage polarization in the endometrium of patients with RIF is strongly associated with the Wnt signaling pathway.
