BACKGROUND Dry eye is a common eye *** tears supplements are widely used for the treatment of dry ***,multiple adverse effects have been observed in patients receiving long-term treatment with artificial tears,which may affect the therapeutic *** To analyze the characteristics of interleukin-1β(IL-1β),interleukin-6(IL-6),and tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)levels in patients with dry eye and the therapeutic effect of artificial tears combined with cyclosporine *** A total of 124 dry eye patients treated at The First People’s Hospital of Xining from April 2020 to April 2022 were selected as the observation group,while 20 healthy individuals served as the control group during the same *** of inflammatory markers,including IL-1β,IL-6,and TNF-α,were *** observation group was further divided into a study group and a control group,each consisting of 62 *** control group received artificial tears,whereas the study group received a combination of artificial tears and cyclosporine *** markers,Schirmer’s test(SIT),tear break-up time(TBUT),corneal fluorescein staining(CFS),National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire-25(NEI-VFQ-25)scores,and adverse events(AEs)were compared between the two *** The observation group exhibited significantly elevated serum levels of IL-1β,IL-6,and TNF-αin comparison to the healthy *** treatment,the study group demonstrated substantial reductions in IL-1β,IL-6,and TNF-αlevels relative to the control ***,after treatment,the study group experienced a marked decrease in CFS scores and significant increases in both SIT and BUT levels when compared to the control ***,significant improvements were observed in the primary symptom of dry eye and secondary symptoms such as photophobia,foreign body sensation,fatigue,red eye,and burning sensation within the study ***,post-treatment NEI-VFQ-25 scores across all d

Chiral methyl mandelates are useful synthons in organic transformation and pharmaceutical *** synthesis of these valuable compounds by direct C–H activating oxidative hydroxylation has attracted keen *** herein is achieving the stereoselective and efficient bio-hydroxylation of methyl 2-phenylacetates to the chiral methyl mandelates by directed evolution of the cytochrome P450DA *** the present study,a new colorimetric high-throughput screening assay was successfully developed based on a dualenzyme cascade for the engineering of the P450DA's hydroxylation *** beneficial variants with enhanced bio-hydroxylation activity were created by combining random mutagenesis and site-saturated/directed mutagenesis ***-cell bio-hydroxylation of various methyl 2-phenylacetates using the best septupletmutant P450DA-11 yielded the corresponding chiral methyl mandelates in up to 92%isolated yields and>99%ee.

Owing to uncontrolled and uneven electrodeposition and side reactions,Zn metal anodes inevitably suffer from issues such as dendrite growth,hydrogen evolution reactions,and surface *** paper proposes an efficient strategy to address these critical issues for realizing long-life and high-capacity aqueous zinc-ion hybrid supercapacitors （ZHSCs） by incorporating low-concentration (0.05 mol·L-1) redox RbI electrolyte ***,rubidium cations have the ability to influence the negative Zn electrode surface via an electrostatic shielding mechanism,effectively protecting the electrode and minimizing undesired side *** an aqueous solution,iodide anions actively solvate Zn2+ions by stabilizing and modulating the solvation shell surrounding Zn2+.Moreover,the presence of iodide ions promotes the uniform deposition of Zn2+species by selective adsorption onto the electrode *** synergistic effect of the electrostatic shielding and halogen ions enables the realization of aqueous symmetric Zn||Zn cells with a substantial cycle life of more than 2000 h Additionally,when applied to commercial activated carbon（AC）,the proposed strategy facilitates the development of aqueous ZHSCs,exhibiting high specific capacitances(148.8 F·g-1at 4 A·g-1) and ultra-long cycling stability.

A detailed understanding of the distribution and potential of natural gas hydrate(NGHs)resources is crucial to fostering the industrialization of those resources in the South China Sea,where NGHs are *** this study,this study analyzed the applicability of resource evaluation methods,including the volumetric,genesis,and analogy methods,and estimated NGHs resource potential in the South China Sea by using scientific resource evaluation methods based on the factors controlling the geological accumulation and the reservoir characteristics of ***,this study compared the evaluation results of NGHs resource evaluations in representative worldwise sea areas via rational *** results of this study are as follows:(1)The gas hydrate accumulation in the South China Sea is characterized by multiple sources of gas supply,multi-channel migration,and extensive accumulation,which are significantly different from those of oil and gas and other unconventional resources.(2)The evaluation of gas hydrate resources in the South China Sea is a highly targeted,stratified,and multidisciplinary evaluation of geological resources under the framework of a multi-type gas hydrate resource evaluation system and focuses on the comprehensive utilization of multi-source heterogeneous data.(3)Global NGHs resources is n×10^(15)m^(3),while the NGHs resources in the South China Sea are estimated to be 10^(13)m^(3),which is comparable to the abundance of typical marine NGHs deposits in other parts of the *** the South China Sea,the NGHs resources have a broad prospect and provide a substantial resource base for production tests and industrialization of NGHs.

采用可见光促进的原子转移自由基聚合(ATRP)法,实现了叠氮基单体与含氟单体共聚,得到全氟辛酯叠氮苯酯共聚物,并将其应用于纸张表面改性,制成了超疏水耐酸碱改性纸张.研究了聚合物中各单体种类、比例及聚合物分子量对超疏水耐酸碱性能的影响.此外,还表征了改性纸张的表面微观结构,研究了聚合物与纸张的连接方式,解释了改性纸张的超疏水耐酸碱性能原理.结果表明,当甲基丙烯酸-4-叠氮苯酯与甲基丙烯酸全氟辛酯的摩尔比为1∶4时,全氟辛酯叠氮苯酯共聚物-80改性后的纸张表现出极强的疏水性,水接触角达到165°,并在强酸(pH=1)或强碱(pH=13)环境下维持72 h无明显变化.制备的共聚材料在防水、耐酸碱应用中具有良好的应用前景.

Enhancing photodynamic inactivation via tunning spatial constraint on photosensitizer

The critical factor of spatial constraint,provided by the external confinement(e.g.,matrix),is often overlooked during photodynamic inactivation,despite playing a crucial role in determining the molecular photophysical process and subsequent antipathogen ***,as a proof-of-concept model,we employed two types of polymers with varying interaction energies with dopants to investigate the intrinsic relationship between spatial constraint and the essential excited-state behaviors of doped photosensitizer(4-(2-(5-(4-(diphenylamino)phenyl)thiophen-2-yl)ethyl)-1-methylquinolin-1-ium iodine,TPP).Through experimental investigation and theoretical calculations,we found that TPP tends to remain in the excited state for a shorter dwell time under weaker spatial constraints due to less restricted molecular motion in polyurethane(PU) ***,the singlet oxygen(^(1)O_(2)) generated from doped-TPP shows a 9.23-fold enhancement in PU than in the polyvinylchloride(PVC) *** light irradiation,the PU@TPP nanofiber can efficiently eliminate the coronavirus MHV-A59(≥99.9997%) at a 220,000-fold higher concentration than the infected *** antibacterial efficacy has also been demonstrated,with a killing rate of ≥99%.

Although numerous metal halide perovskite materials have been investigated in the field of optoelectronic,the development of perovskite heterojunctions with exotic structures is still ***,we report the epitaxial growth of quasi-two-dimensional(Q-2D)perovskites on methylammonium lead iodide(MAPbI_(3))single crystals to form perovskite heterojunctions with interfacial *** MAPbI_(3)adjacent to epitaxial Q-2D perovskite shows blue shifted photoluminescence with shortened lifetime,which becomes significant with the reduced layer number of the Q-2D *** findings suggest the presence of an interfacial strain gradient leading to enhanced photocarrier ***,compared to the MAPbI_(3)single crystal detector,the BA_(2)MAPb_(2)I_(7)/MAPbI_(3)(BA:n-butylamine)heterojunction-based photodetector demonstrates a bandpass detecting property and exhibits 5 times enhanced external quantum efficiency and 83 times enhanced specific detectivity(D*=3.26×10^(11)Jones).Remarkably,the unencapsulated BA_(2)MAPb_(2)I_(7)/MAPbI_(3)heterojunction is stable in ambient condition for>300 *** Q-2D/3D heterojunction shows suppressed ion inter-diffusion due to the presence of Q-2D phase.

Surgical Repair of Ventricular Septal Defect in Neonates: Indications and Outcomes

Background:The optimal surgical timing and clinical outcomes of ventricular septal defect(VSD)closure in neo-nates remain *** aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes of VSD closure in neonates(age≤30 days).Methods:We retrospectively reviewed 50 consecutive neonates who underwent VSD closure for isolated VSDs between August 2003 and June *** for the procedure included congestive heart failure/failure to thrive and pulmonary *** adverse events(MAEs)were deﬁned as the composite of all-cause mortality,reoperation,persistent atrioventricular block,and signiﬁcant(≥grade 2)valvular ***:The median age and body weight at operation were 26.0 days(interquartile range[IQR],18.8–28.3)and 3.7 kg(IQR,3.3–4.2),*** median follow-up duration was 110.4 months(IQR,56.8–165.0).Seven patients required preoperative respiratory support,andﬁve had signiﬁcant(≥grade 2)preoperative valvular *** early mortality occurred due to irreversible cardiogenic shock;no late mortality was *** reopera-tion was due to hemodynamically signiﬁcant residual VSD at 103.8 months *** overall survival,freedom from reoperation,and freedom from MAE at 15-years were 98.0%,96.3%,and 94.4%,***-operative mechanical ventilation was associated with a longer duration of postoperative mechanical ventilation(p<0.001)and a longer length of intensive care unit stay(p<0.001).Conclusions:VSD closure with favorable outcomes without morbidities is feasible even in ***,neonates requiring preoperative respiratory support may require careful postoperative management considering the long-term postoperative ***,surgical VSD closure might be indicated earlier in neonates with respiratory compromise.

Dear Editor,Bamboos(Bambusoideae,Poaceae)are of significant economic and ecological importance,supporting billions of people and contributing to international trade(Wu et al.,2023).They play a crucial role in carbon fixation and support a multitude of other species including the giant panda(Clark et al.,2015).Since the release of the first draft genome of moso bamboo(Phyllostachys edulis)(Peng et al.,2013),there has been a notable increase in the sequencing,assembly,and annotation of diverse bamboo genomes(Guo et al.,2019;Zheng et al.,2022;Ma et al.,2024).An existing resource for bamboo genomics,BambooGDB(Zhao et al.,2014),provides information based on the individual draft reference genome of moso *** is needed,however,is a resource reinforcing multiple genome assemblies in Bambusoideae to enable researchers to unravel the evolutionary history of chromosomes and genes through cladespecific comparative genomic ***,we present BambooBase(https://***/),a newly developed web-based database designed to provide a seamless user experience for bamboo omics and systematics.
