Molecular Dynamics Study of Interaction between Acrylamide Copolymers and Alumina Crystal

Four acrylamide polymer flocculants, anionic polyacrylamide P（AA-co-AM）, cationic poly- acrylamide P（DMB-co-AM）, nonionic polyacrylamide P（AM）, and hydrophobical polyacry- lamide P（OA-co-AM） have been prepared by copolymerizing with acrylic acid, cationic monomer dimethylethyl （acryloxyethyl） ammonium bromide （DMB） and hydrophobical monomer octadecyl acrylate with acrylamide. The interactions between the flocculants with the （012） surface of alumina crystal （A1203） have been simulated by molecular dynamics method. All the polymers can bind tightly with A1203 crystal, the interaction between the O of polymers and A1 of the （012） surface of A1203 is significantly strong. The order of binding energy is as follows： P（DMB-co-AM）〉P（OA-co-AM）〉P（AA-co-AM）〉P（AM）, implying a better flocculation performance of P（DMB-co-AM） than the others. Analy- sis indicates that binding energy is mainly determined by Coulomb interaction. Bonds are found between the O atoms of the polymers and the A1 atoms of A1203. The poly- mers＇ structures deform when they combine with A1203 crystal, but the deformation en- ergies are low and far less than non-bonding energies. Flocculation experiments in sus- pension medium of l%Kaolin show a transmittancy of 90.8% for 6 mg/L P（DMB-co-AM） and 73.0% for P（AM）. The sequence of flocculation performance of four polymers is P（DMB-co-AM）〉P（OA-co-AM）〉P（AA-co-AM）〉P（AM）, which is in excellent agreement with the simulation results of binding energy.

Discretization based on rough set theory aims to seek the possible minimum number of the cut set without weakening the indiscemibility of the original decision system. Optimization of discretization is an NP-complete problem and the genetic algorithm is an appropriate method to solve it. In order to achieve optimal discretization, first the choice of the initial set of cut set is discussed, because a good initial cut set can enhance the efficiency and quality of the follow-up algorithm. Second, an effective heuristic genetic algorithm for discretization of continuous attributes of the decision table is proposed, which takes the significance of cut dots as heuristic information and introduces a novel operator to maintain the indiscernibility of the original decision system and enhance the local research ability of the algorithm. So the algorithm converges quickly and has global optimizing ability. Finally, the effectiveness of the algorithm is validated through experiment.

Hollow carbon spheres have garnered great interest owing to their high surface area,large surface-tovolume ratio and reduced transmission ***,we overview hollow carbon sphere-based materials and their noble metal-free hybrids in ***,we summarize the key fabrication techniques for various kinds of hollow carbon spheres,with a particular emphasis on controlling pore structure and surface morphology,and then heterogeneous doping as well as their metal-free/containing hybrids are presented;next,possible applications for non-noble metal/hollow carbon sphere hybrids in the area of energy-related catalysis,including oxygen reduction reaction,hydrogen evolution reaction,oxygen evolution reaction,water splitting,rechargeable Zn-air batteries and pollutant degradation are discussed;finally,we introduce the various challenges and opportunities offered by hollow carbon spheres from the perspective of synthesis and catalysis.

CCT Curves of Low-Carbon Mn-Si Steels and Development of Water-Cooled Bainitic Steels

CCT curves of Mn-Si steels with different manganese contents or carbon contents were determined. The results show that the transformation range of bainite can be separated from that of ferrite when the manganese content approaches a certain content, and the incubation period of ferrite increases more significantly than that of bainite transformation with the increase of carbon content in Mn-Si steels. Furthermore, water-cooled bainitic steels without adding expensive alloying element were developed. Granular bainite was obtained when a bar with diameter of 300 mm was cooled by water, and a mixed microstructure of granular bainite and martensite was obtained in watercooled plate with thickness of 40 mm. The developed water-cooled bainitic Steels containing no expensive alloying element showed a good combination of strength and toughness. The tensile strength, yield strength, and toughness （AKU at --20℃ ） of bar with diameter of 300 mm after water cooling were higher than 850 MPa, 620 MPa, and 65 J, respectively, and those of plate with thickness of 40mm after water cooling were higher than 1000 MPa, 800 MPa, and 50J, respectively.

Monodispersed nitrogen-doped carbon nanospheres with tunable particle size(100-230 nm)were synthesized via self-polymerization of biochemical dopamine in the presence of hexamethylenetetramine as a buffer and F127 as a size controlling *** can mildly release NH3,which in turn initiates the polymerization reaction of *** carbon nanospheres obtained exhibited a significant energy storage capability of 265 F·g^(-1)at 0.5 A·g^(-1)and high-rate performance of 82%in 6 mol·L^(-1)KOH(20 A·g^(-1)),which could be attributed to the presence of abundant micromesoporous structure,doped nitrogen functional groups and the small particle ***,the fabricated symmetric supercapacitor device displayed a high stability of 94%after 5000 cycles,revealing the considerable potential of carbon nanospheres as electrode materials for energy storage.

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) thin film was deposited on the surface of the light addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS) to modify the sensor surface for the non-labeled detection of DNA molecules. To evaluate the effect of ultraviolet (UV) treatment on the silanization level of TiO2 thin film by 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTS),fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) was used to label the amine group on the end of APTS immobilized onto the TiO2 thin film. We found that,with UV irradiation,the silanization level of the irradiated area of the TiO2 film was improved compared with the non-irradiated area under well-controlled conditions. This result indicates that TiO2 can act as a coating material on the biosensor surface to improve the effect and efficiency of the covalent immobilization of biomolecules on the sensor surface. The artificially synthesized probe DNA molecules were covalently linked onto the surface of TiO2 film. The hybridization of probe DNA and target DNA was monitored by the recording of I-V curves that shift along the voltage axis during the process of reaction. A significant LAPS signal can be detected at 10 μmol/L of target DNA sample.

In Vivo Confocal Microscopic Observation of Lamellar Corneal Transplantation in the Rabbit Using Xenogenic Acellular Corneal Scaffolds as a Substitute

Background： The limiting factor to corneal transplantation is the availability of donors. Research has suggested that xenogenic acellular corneal scaffolds （XACS） may be a possible alternative to transplantation. This study aimed to investigate the viability of performing lamellar corneal transplantation （LCT） in rabbits using canine XACS. Methods： Fresh dog corneas were decellularized by serial digestion, and LCT was performed on rabbit eyes using xenogeneic decellularized corneal matrix. Cellular and morphological changes were observed by slit-lamp, light, and scanning electron microscopy at 7, 30 and 90 days postoperatively, lmmunocytochemical staining for specific markers such as keratin 3, vimentin and MUC5AC, was used to identify cells in the graft. Results： Decellularized xenogenic corneal matrix remained transparent for about l-month after LCT. The recipient cells were able to survive and proliferate into the grafts. Three months after transplantation, grafts had merged with host tissue, and graft epithelialization and vascularization had occurred. Corneal nerve fibers were able to grow into the graft in rabbits transplanted with XACS. Conclusions： Xenogenic acellular corneal scaffolds can maintain the transparency of corneal grafts about 1-month and permit growth of cells and nerve fibers, and is, therefore, a potential substitute or carrier for a replacement cornea.
