A circRNA–miRNA–mRNA network analysis underlying pathogenesis of human heart failure

BACKGROUND The molecular mechanisms of heart failure(HF) are still poorly understood. Circular RNA(circRNA) has been discovered in the heart in increasing numbers of studies. The goal of this research is to learn more about the potential roles of circRNAs in *** & RESULTS We used RNA sequencing data to identify the characteristics of circRNAs expressed in the heart and discovered that the majority of circRNAs screened were less than 2000 nt. Additionally, chromosomes One and Y had the most and least number of circRNAs, respectively. After excluding duplicate host genes and intergenic circRNAs, a total of 238 differentially expressed circRNAs(DECs) and 203 host genes were discovered. However, only four of the 203 host genes of DECs were examined in HF differentially expressed genes. Another study used Gene Oncology analysis of DECs host genes to elucidate the underlying pathogenesis of HF, and it found that binding and catalytic activity accounted for a large portion of DECs. Immune system, metabolism, and signal transduction pathways were significantly enriched. Furthermore, 1052 potentially regulated miRNAs from the top 40 DECs were collected to build a circRNA-mi RNA network, and it was discovered that 470 miRNAs can be regulated by multiple circRNAs, while others are regulated by a single circRNA. In addition, a comparison of the top 10m RNAs in HF and their targeted miRNAs revealed that DDX3Y and UTY were regulated by the most and least circRNA, *** These findings demonstrated circRNAs have species and tissue specific expression patterns;while circRNA expression is independent on host genes, the same types of genes in DECs and DEGs worked in HF. Our findings would contribute to a better understanding of the critical roles of circRNAs and lay the groundwork for future studies of HF molecular functions.

Insect wings are subject to strong selective pressure,resulting in the evolution of remarkably diverse wing morphologies that largely determine flight ***,the genetic basis and regulatory mechanisms underlying wing size and shape development are not well *** silkworm Bombyx mori micropterous(mp)mutant exhibits shortened wing length and enlarged vein spacings,albeit without changes in total wing ***,the mp mutant comprises a valuable genetic resource for studying wing *** this study,we used molecular mapping to identify the gene responsible for the mp phenotype and designated it ***-causing mutations were identified as indels and single nucleotide polymorphisms in noncoding *** mutations resulted in decreased Bmmp messenger RNA levels and changes in transcript isoform *** null mutants were generated by clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9 and exhibited changed wing shape,similar to mp mutants,and significantly smaller total wing *** examining the expression of genes critical to wingdevelopment inwildtype and Bmmp null mutants,we found that Bmmp exerts its function by coordinately modulating anterior-posterior and proximal-distal axes *** also studied a Drosophila mp mutant and found that Bmmp is functionally conserved in *** Drosophila mp mutant strain exhibits curly wings of reduced size and a complete loss of flight *** results increase our understanding of the mechanisms underpinning insect wing development and reveal potential targets for pest control.

Decentralized robust guaranteed cost control for a class of interconnected singular large-scale systems with time-delay and parameter uncertainty

The decentralized robust guaranteed cost control problem is studied for a class of interconnected singular large-scale systems with time-delay and norm-bounded time-invariant parameter uncertainty under a given quadratic cost performance function. The problem that is addressed in this study is to design a decentralized robust guaranteed cost state feedback controller such that the closed-loop system is not only regular, impulse-free and stable, but also guarantees an adequate level of performance for all admissible uncertainties. A sufficient condition for the existence of the decentralized robust guaranteed cost state feedback controllers is proposed in terms of a linear matrix inequality （LMI） via LMI approach. When this condition is feasible, the desired state feedback decentralized robust guaranteed cost controller gain matrices can be obtained. Finally, an illustrative example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Observer-based H_∞ Filtering of 2-D Singular System Described by Roesser Models

This paper discusses the problem of the H∞ filtering for discrete time 2-D singular Roesser models (2-D SRM). The purpose is to design an observer-based 2-D singular filter such that the error system is acceptable, jump modes free and stable, and satisfies a pre-specified H∞ performance level. By general Riccati inequality and bilinear matrix inequalities (BMI), a sufficient condition for the solvability of the observer-based H∞ filtering problem for 2-D SRM is given. A numerical example is provided to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed approach.

Purpose–Freeway work zones have been traffic bottlenecks that lead to a series of problems,including long travel time,high-speed variation,driver’s dissatisfaction and traffic *** research aims to develop a collaborative component of connected and automated vehicles(CAVs)to alleviate negative effects caused by work ***/methodology/approach–The proposed cooperative component is incorporated in a cellular automata model to examine how and to what scale CAVs can help in improving traffic ***–Simulation results show that,with the proposed component and penetration of CAVs,the average performances(travel time,safety and emission)can all be improved and the stochasticity of performances will be minimized ***/value–To the best of the authors’knowledge,this is the first research that develops a cooperative mechanism of CAVs to improve work zone performance.

PD-based trajectory tracking control in automatic cell injection system

Trajectory tracking technology has been the focus of industrial manipulatory applications for many years, and its research has been found in micromanipulation in bioengineering recently. In this paper, a hybrid vision and force control method is applied to the automatic cell injection. The three-dimensional cell injection process involves the trajectory tracking in free space and the force control in contact space. A PD plus feedforward compensation control method is applied to the trajectory tracking in 3D space. Further, a PD-based robust controller is introduced into trajectory tracking while the systemic uncertainty of the cell injection is additionally considered. Both of the two control methods are theoretically proved to be exponential convergent. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified as compared with other control methods by its application to trajectory tracking problem.

A New Exponential Stability Condition for Delayed Systems with Markovian Switching

This paper discusses the problem of exponential mean-square stability analysis for delayed systems with Markovian switching.A mode-dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional taking a rather general form is used. The statistical property of Markov process is used to derive the di-erential of the functional. Considering this and applying the free-weighting matrix technique, a new stability criterion is obtained by means of linear matrix inequalities. The effectiveness of the proposed result is numerically demonstrated by examples provided finally.

Two new upper bounds of the solution for the continuous algebraic Riccati equation and their application

In this paper, for the solution of the continuous algebraic Riccati equation(CARE), we derived two new upper matrix bounds. Compared with the existing results, the newly obtained bounds are less conservative and more practical, which means that the condition for the existence of the upper bounds derived here is much weaker. The advantage of the results is shown by theoretical analysis and numerical examples. Moreover, in redundant optimal control, when we increase the columns of the input matrix, some sufficient conditions are presented to strictly decrease the largest singular value of the feedback matrix by utilizing these upper *** also give some examples to illustrate the effectiveness of these sufficient conditions.

The Effects of Redundant Control Inputs in Finite-Time Optimal Control

This paper is concerned with the effects of redundant control inputs on the quadratic optimal performance index in finite-time optimal ***,the effects of redundant control input on quadratic performance index is equal to study the effects of the redundant control input on the solution of Riccati differential equation(RDE).Hence,some sufficient conditions are presented to strictly decrease the solution of RDE with the column of input matrix ***,a necessary and sufficient condition is derived to strictly decrease the solution of the homogeneous RDE after control input ***,one sufficient condition is obtained,which guarantees that the minimum control energy index strictly decreases with input *** is shown that redundant control inputs can improve the system performance based on these *** examples are taken to illustrate the effectiveness of related problems.

Difference in microstructural characteristics of stamp-charged coke and gravity-charged coke with approximate macroscopic performance

The microstructural characteristics including optical texture,porosity and pore structure and chemical structure of stamp-charged coke(SCC)and gravity-charged coke(GCC)with similar conventional macro-indicators were investigated,and the properties including micro-strength,reactivity of coke matrix and that after alkali enrichment were comparatively studied by various characterization *** anisotropic structure of SCC is composed of high content of fine mosaic texture,while the content of medium mosaic texture,coarse texture and fibrous texture is *** statistical average shows that the fine mosaic average of SCC(24.89%)is 3.78 times the GCC average(6.58%),and the coarse mosaic average(1.24%)is only about 1/3 of the GCC average(3.43%).The porosity of SCC is lower than that of GCC,but tamping process does not lead to the fact that the number of closed pores of SCC is significantly lower than that of *** the structure of SCC is compact,its pore number is large and the pore wall is *** of coke with diameter less than 150 nm seem unaffected by tamping *** aromatic structure of SCC was less ordered than that of GCC,which was speculated to be related to the addition of more low metamorphic coal in *** microscopic strength and structural strength of SCC are lower than those of *** reactivity of coke matrix is affected by the specific surface area,but it is not the determining factor of its *** improvement in dissolution reactivity of coke after potassium enrichment is independent of coke type.
