Plant hormone abscisic acid(ABA)plays an indispensable role in the control of leaf senescence,during which ABA signaling depends on its biosynthesis.Nevertheless,the role of ABA transport in leaf senescence remains unknown.Here,we identified two novel RING-box protein-encoding genes UBIQUITIN LIGASE of SENESCENCE 1 and2(ULS1 and ULS2)involved in leaf senescence.Lack of ULS1 and ULS2 accelerates leaf senescence,which is specifically promoted by ABA treatment.Furthermore,the expression of senescence-related genes is significantly affected in mature leaves of uls1/uls2 double mutant(versus wild type(WT))in an ABA-dependent manner,and the ABA content is substantially increased.ULS1 and ULS2 are mainly expressed in the guard cells and aging leaves,and the expression is induced by ABA.Further RNA-seq and quantitative proteomics of ubiquitination reveal that ABA transporter ABCG40 is highly expressed in uls1/uls2 mutant versus WT,though it is not the direct target of ULS1/2.Finally,we show that the acceleration of leaf senescence,the increase of leaf ABA content,and the promotion of stomatal closure in uls1/usl2 mutant are suppressed by abcg40 loss-of-function mutation.These results indicate that ULS1 and ULS2 function in feedback inhibition of ABCG40-dependent ABA transport during ABA-induced leaf senescence and stomatal closure.

Aluminum-based composite abradable seal coatings are pivotal to improving the efficiency of aero engines or gas turbines.However,the adhesive transfer frequently occurs between metallic blade tips and aluminum-based composite coatings,resulting in engine vibration and even jam.Many past studies had tried to solve this problem by reducing coating hardness,improving lubrication,or strengthening blade tips,but all had failed.In this paper,we proposed a novel epoxy-based composite abradable seal coating,eliminating adhesive transfer by changing metal-to-metal scraping pair to metal-to-polymer scraping pair.The coating was developed via a hierarchical structure design.Large spherical pores were uniformly distributed in the continuous epoxy matrix with fine graphite dispersion.By adding 20 vol.%graphite and 50 vol.%hollow microspheres,a self-lubricating epoxy-based coating of 0.26 friction coefficient with thermal conductivity of 0.28 W/(m·K),coating HR15 Y hardness at 54.8,and bonding strength at 18.7 MPa can be reached.When the metallic blades scrape the epoxy-based composite coating,no adhesive transfer occurs.Besides,a smooth scraped surface is formed by pseudoplastic deformation.This epoxy-based composite abradable seal coating opens a new way to improve the efficiency and reliable operations of air engine compressors.

To investigate the effect of different structures of MOF on the catalytic performance of ammonium perchlorate(AP)thermal decomposition.By adding 2-methylimidazole(2-MI)as an inhibitor during the synthesis of MOF-5,a two-dimensional(2D)MOF material was prepared and characterized by SEM,EDS,XRD,FT-IR and other means.The prepared two-dimensional material was added to the AP raw material to investigate its effect on the AP thermal decomposition process.After DSC and TG test,it was found that the addition of this kind of 2D MOF material can completely eliminate the low-temperature decomposition peak of the AP-based composite and advance the high temperature decomposition peak to 296.5℃,and the apparent heat of decomposition increase to 905.6 J/g,which has a better catalytic effect than the bulk MOF-5.In addition,through the combustion test,it was found that 2D MOF,as a burning rate catalyst,can effectively enhance the burning rate of AP based solid propellant.

Effect of Different Raft Shapes on Hydrodynamic Characteristics of the Attenuator-Type Wave Energy Converter

A numerical simulation method based on CFD has been established to simulate the fully coupled motion for an atten-uator-type wave energy converter(WEC).Based on this method,a detailed parametric analysis has been conducted to investigate the design of the rafts.The effects of different parameters(wave parameters,structural parameters and PTO parameters)on the hydrodynamic characteristics of the attenuator-type WEC were studied in detail.The results show that in terms of wave parameters,there is an optimal wave period,which makes the relative pitching angle amplitude of the WEC reach the maximum,and the increase of wave height is conducive to the relative pitching angle amplitude of wave energy.Under different wave conditions,the relative pitch angle of the parallelogram raft device is the maximum.In terms of structural parameters,the parallelogram attenuator-type device has the optimal values in different relative directions,different distances and different apex angle,which makes the relative motion amplitude of the device reach the maximum,and the spacing and the apex angle have influence on the motion frequency of the device,while the relative direction has almost no influence on it.In terms of PTO parameters,there is an optimal damping coefficient,which makes the power generation efficiency of the WEC reach the maximum.The research results provide a valuable reference for future research and design of the attenuator-type WEC.

In order to improve the emergency management capability of urban rail transit system and reduce accidents during metro operation,an emergency management capability evaluation method combining analytic hierarchy process(AHP)and technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution(TOPSIS)is proposed.Based on the Prevention Preparation Response Recovery(PPRR)model,factors influencing the emergency management capability of the urban rail transit system are summarized from the perspective of‘human,machine,environment and management’.Then,an emergency management capability evaluation index system containing of 20 secondary indicators is constructed in four stages:emergency prevention,emergency preparation,emergency response and emergency recovery.The weights of indicators are calculated using the AHP method,and the closeness of each indicator to the optimal solution is analysed with the TOPSIS method.Finally,take the Beijing Metro Line 13 as an example to investigate the level of emergency management capability of urban rail transit.The results show that the emergency management capability of Beijing’s urban rail transit system is‘well’,among which hazard prevention measures(0.31)and emergency response team(0.34)have a greater weight on the emergency management capability of rail transit.The model can more accurately assess the emergency management capability of urban rail transit and provide a basis for emergency management.

We report a patient with small intestinal metastasis from lung squamous cell carcinoma.A 66-year-old man who underwent radical lung cancer surgery was admitted to our hospital.Before starting his fifth cycle of chemotherapy,he was found to have a positive fecal occult blood test.Abdominal computed tomography scan revealed an ileal tumor with mesenteric lymph node enlargement.He underwent laparoscopic resection of the involved small intestineand mesentery.Histopathological analysis confirmed metastasis from lung cancer.We conducted a review of the literature and 64 documented cases of small intestinal metastasis from lung cancer were found.The pathologic diagnosis,clinical presentation,site of metastasis,and survival time in these cases were reviewed.

The purpose of our study is to investigate the prognostic value of phosphatase and tensin homolog on chromosome 10(PTEN)expression in patients with de novo metastatic castration naive prostate cancer(mCNPC).A total of 205 patients with mCNPC at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center(Shanghai,China)were retrospectively examined.Immunohistochemical staining of PTEN was performed on prostate biopsy samples of these patients.Associations among clinicopathological features,patient survival and PTEN protein expression were analyzed.PTEN loss occurred in 58 of 205(28.3%)patients.Loss of PTEN was significantly correlated with high metastatic volume(P=0.017).No association between PTEN expression and Gleason score was observed.Patients with PTEN loss had significantly shorter progression-free survival(PFS,P<0.001)and overall survival(OS,P<0.001)compared with patients with intact PTEN expression.Multivariate analysis showed that elevated alkaline phosphatase,high metastatic volume and PTEN loss were independent poor prognostic factors for PFS.The Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status(ECOG PS)≥2 and PTEN loss were independent poor prognostic factors for OS.The adjusted hazard ratio of PTEN loss for PFS and OS was 1.67(95%confidence interval[CI]:1.14–2.43,P=0.008)and 1.95(95%CI:1.23–3.10,P=0.005),respectively.PTEN loss was also significantly associated with shorter PFS(P=0.025)and OS(P<0.001)in patients with low-volume metastatic disease.Our data showed that PTEN loss is an independent predictor for shorter PFS and OS in patients with de novo mCNPC.

Hypercrosslinking Polymers Fabricated from Divinyl Benzene via Friedel-Crafts Addition Polymerization

Microporous organic polymers with high surface area are widely used in many applications.Among them,hypercrosslinked polymers have been extensively concerned because of their simple processes and low-cost reagents.However,due to most state-of-the-art strategies for HCPs based on condensation reactions,the release of small molecules such as hydrochloric acid and methanol involved in such strategies brings about new hazards to environment.Herein,we propose a method of fabrication of hypercrosslinked polymers via self-addition polymerization of divinyl benzene and its crosslinking with polar aromatic molecules.The hypercrosslinked polyDVB-based products are demonstrated by FriedelCrafts addition reaction of double bonds on DVB that can connect adjacent phenyl rings of aromatic molecules to form the crosslinked networks.The HCPDVB-CB obtained in 1-chlorobutane as solvent has a high micropore content and displays high surface area up to 931 m^(2)/g.Following this finding,DVB is used as a novel external crosslinker for knitting polar aromatic molecules.When L-phenylalanine and bisphenol A are used as the aromatic units,the obtained HCP(Phe-DVB)and HCP(BPA-DVB)could reach surface area of 612 and 471 m^(2)/g,and have hydrogen uptake of0.62 wt%and 0.58 wt%at 77 K and 1.13 bar by comparison with HCPDVB-CB having hydrogen uptake of 0.30 wt%,respectively.

Coordinated deformation control technologies for the high sidewall—bottom transfixion zone of large underground hydro-powerhouses

It is imperative to understand the spatial and temporal coordination deformation mechanism and develop targeted deformation control technologies for high sidewall—bottom transfixion(HSBT)zones to guarantee the stability of rock surrounding underground hydro-powerhouses under complex geological conditions.In this study,the spatial and temporal coordinated deformation control of HSBT zones was addressed from the aspects of the deformation mechanism,failure characteristics,and control requirements,and some coordinated deformation control technologies were proposed.On this basis,a case study was conducted on the deformation control of the HSBT zone of the underground powerhouse at the Wudongde hydropower station,China.The results showed that the relationship between excavation and support,and the mismatch of deformation and support of the surrounding rock mass in the HSBT zone of underground caverns with a large span and high in-situ stress can be appropriately handled.The solution requires proper excavation and construction procedures,fine blasting control,composite and timely support,and real-time monitoring and dynamic feedback.The technologies proposed in this study will ensure the safe,high-quality,and orderly construction of the Baihetan and Wudongde underground caverns,and can be applied to other similar projects.
