Soy Isoflavone and Its Effect to Regulate Hypothalamus and Peripheral Orexigenic Gene Expression in Ovariectomized Rats Fed on A High-Fat Diet

Objective To explore the effect of soy isoflavone on obesity in the light of hypothalamus and peripheral orexigenic gene regulation. Methods Fifty-four female rats were randomly assigned to 6 groups： one sham-operated group （SHAM）, one ovariectomized （OVX） control group, three OVX groups fed with 400 ppm （L-SI）, 1 200 ppm （M-SI） and 3 600 ppm （H-SI） isoflavone respectively, and one OVX group receiving 0.45 ppm diethylstilbestrol （EC）. All rats were allowed to take high-fat diet for 4 weeks. Some neuropeptides were measured by RT-PCR. These neuropeptides included NPY, pro-opiomelanocortin （POMC）, cocaine and amphetamine regulated transcript （CART）, orexin, melanin-concentrating hormone （MCH）, ting hormone precursor （P-MCH）, ghrelin, and leptin. Results Compared with the OVX control group, the body weight and food intake in the H-S1 group were reduced significantly and there was a significant dose-dependent manner in the 3 isoflavone groups. The results of RT-PCR showed that the NPY level in the 3 isoflavone groups was significantly increased and the POMC/CART gene expression decreased significantly in rats＇ hypothalamus compared with that in the OVX control group. However, the expression of orexin, MCH and P-MCH had no change. The peripheral grelin mRna expression was higher in the 3 isoflavone groups, while leptin gene expression in the fat was not consistent. Conclusions This research showed that isoflavone could prevent obesity induced by high-fat diet and ovariectomy through regulating hypothalamus and peripheral orexigenic gene expressions associated with food intake.

To improve the corrosion resistance of coalbed methane drilling equipment,an AICoCrFeNiCu high entropy alloy coating was prepared on the AISI 4135(35CrMo)steel substrate by high velocity oxygen fuel(HVOF)technology,and the coating was subjected to vacuum heat treatment(VHT)at different temperatures(500,700,900 and 1100℃).The corrosion test of the substrate and the coatings after VHT in coalbed methane drilling fluid was carried *** results show that the HVOF sprayed AICoCrFeNiCu high entropy alloy(HEA)coating has a good bonding with the substrate,and the porosity of the coating is about 2.4%.There is partial segregation in the coating,and the coating mainly consists of body-centered cubic *** coating has good thermal stability,and the phase structure and microstructure of the coatings have changed after VHT at different *** with the substrate,the as-sprayed coating has better uniform corrosion resistance,and the corrosion resistance of the coating after VHT is further *** VHT at 500℃,the HVOF-sprayed AICoCrFeNiCu HEA coating has the best corrosion resistance.

A novel series of substituted benzoylguanidine derivatives were designed and synthesized in order to evaluate their NHE 1 inhibitory activity. Most of them were found to inhibit NHE 1-mediated platelet swelling in a concentration-dependent manner, and eight compounds showed more potent NHE 1 inhibitory activity than Cariporide. Compound 6f with an IC50 value of 1.08 × 10-10 mol·L-1, was 39 times more potent than lead compound CPU-X-050420 in vitro tests.

In-plane current-induced magnetization reversal of Pd/CoZr/MgO magnetic multilayers

High critical current density(>10^(6)A/cm^(2))is one of major obstacles to realize practical applications of the currentdriven magnetization reversal *** this work,we successfully prepared Pd/CoZr(3.5 nm)/MgO thin films with large perpendicular magnetic anisotropy and demonstrated a way of reducing the critical current density with a low out-of-plane magnetic field in the Pd/CoZr/MgO *** the assistance of an out-of-plane magnetic field,the magnetization can be fully reversed with a current density of about 10^(4)A/cm^(2).The magnetization reversal is attributed to the combined effect of the out-of-plane magnetic field and the current-induced spin-orbital *** is found that the current-driven magnetization reversal is highly relevant to the temperature owing to the varied spin-orbital torque,and the current-driven magnetization reversal will be more efficient in low-temperature range,while the magnetic field is helpful for the magnetization reversal in high-temperature range.

Effects of ulinastatin therapy in deep vein thrombosis prevention after brain tumor surgery:A single-center randomized controlled trial

BACKGROUND Venous thromboembolism(VTE)is a common neurosurgical complication after brain tumor resection,and its prophylaxis has been widely *** are no effective drugs in the clinical management of venous thromboembolism,and there is an absence of evidence-based medicine concerning the treatment of severe multiple *** To explore whether ulinastatin(UTI)can prevent VTE after brain tumor *** The present research included patients who underwent brain tumor *** received UTIs(400,000 IU)or placebos utilizing computer-based random sequencing(in a 1:1 ratio).The primary outcome measures were the incidence of VTE,coagulation function,pulmonary emboli,liver function,renal function,and drug-related adverse *** A total of 405 patients were evaluated between January 2019 and December 2021,and 361 of these were initially enrolled in the study to form intention-to-treat,which was given UTI(n=180)or placebo(n=181)treatment in a random *** were no statistically significant differences in baseline clinical data between the two *** incidence of VTE in the UTI group was remarkably improved compared with that in the placebo *** can improve coagulation dysfunction,pulmonary emboli,liver function,and renal *** significant difference was identified between the two groups in the side effects of UTI-induced diarrhea,vomiting,hospital stays,or hospitalization *** incidence of allergies was higher in the UTI group than in the placebo *** The findings from the present research indicated that UTI can decrease the incidence of VTE and clinical outcomes of patients after brain tumor resection and has fewer adverse reactions.

Estimation of USLE crop and management factor values for crop rotation systems in China

Soil erosion on cropland is a major source of environmental problems in China ranging from the losses of a non-renewable resource and of nutrients at the source to contamination of downstream areas. Regional soil loss assessments using the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) would supply a scientiifc basis for soil conservation planning. However, a lack of in-formation on the cover and management (C) factor for cropland, one of the most important factors in the USLE, has limited accurate regional assessments in China due to the large number of crops grown and their complicated rotation systems. In this study, single crop soil loss ratios (SLRs) were col ected and quantiifed for 10 primary crops from past studies or re-ports. The mean annual C values for 88 crop rotation systems in 12 cropping system regions were estimated based on the combined effects of single crop SLRs and the percentage of annual rainfal erosivity (R) during the corresponding periods for each system. The C values in different cropping system regions were compared and discussed. The results indicated that the SLRs of the 10 primary crops ranged from 0.15 to 0.74. The mean annual C value for al 88 crop rotation systems was 0.34, with a standard deviation of 0.12. The mean C values in the single, double and triple cropping zones were 0.37, 0.36 and 0.28, respectively, and the C value in the triple zone was signiifcantly different from those in single and double zones. The C values of dryland crop systems exhibited signiifcant differences in the single and triple cropping system regions but the differences in the double regions were not signiifcant. This study is the ifrst report of the C values of crop rotation systems in China at the national scale. It wil provide necessary and practical parameters for accurately assessing regional soil losses from cropland to guide soil conservation plans and to optimize crop rotation systems.

A series of novel derivatives of ligustrazine linked with substituted benzoyl guanidine were synthesized. These compounds have not been reported in literature, and their chemical structures were confirmed by IR, ^1H NMR and MS. The results of NHE1 inhibitory activity test showed that compounds I2, I3, I4, I6, and I7 possess more potent NHE1 inhibitory activity than cariporide.

Polarity-regulated derivatization-assisted LC-MS method for amino-containing metabolites profiling in gastric cancer

Amino-containing compounds,including amino acids,aliphatic amines,aromatic amines,small peptides and catecholamines,are involved in various biological processes and play vital roles in multiple metabolic *** studies indicated that some amino-containing metabolites are significant diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers of gastric ***,the discovery of precise biomarkers for the preoperative diagnosis of gastric cancer is still in an urgent ***,we established a polarityregulated derivatization method coupled with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS)for amino-containing metabolites profiling in the serum samples of patients with gastric cancer and healthy controls,based on our newly designed and synthesized derivatization reagent(S)-3-(1-(diisopropoxyphosphoryl)pyrrolidine-2-carboxamido)-N-hydroxysuccinimidyl ester(3-DP-NHS).Enhanced separation efficiency and detection sensitivity for amino-containing metabolites were achieved after *** method exhibited good linearity,recovery,intra-and inter-day precision and *** 5 mL serum is needed for untargeted analysis,enabling 202 amino-containing metabolites to be *** analysis revealed altered amino acid metabolisms in patients with gastric ***,ultra high performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry(UHPLCMS/MS)analysis quantification revealed increased serum levels of tryptamine and decreased concentrations of arginine and tryptophan in patients with gastric *** operating characteristic(ROC)curves indicated that an increased tryptamine/tryptophan ratio could serve as a potential biomarker for gastric cancer *** study demostrated the possibility of using serum amino acid biomarkers for gastric cancer diagnosis,providing new avenues for the treatment of gastric cancer.
