Background:The Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(K-NAFLD)score was recently developed with the intent to operationally define nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).However,there remained an external validation that confirmed its diagnostic performance,especially in patients with alcohol consumption or hepatitis virus ***:Diagnostic accuracy of the K-NAFLD score was evaluated in a hospital-based cohort consisting of 1388 participants who received Fibroscan®.Multivariate-adjusted logistic regression models and the contrast estimation of receiver operating characteristic curves were used for validation of the K-NAFLD score,fatty liver index(FLi),and hepatic steatosis index(HSi).Results:K-NAFLD-moderate[adjusted odds ratio(aOR)=2.53,95%confidence interval(Ci):1.13-5.65]and K-NAFLD-high(aOR=4.14,95%Ci:1.69-10.13)groups showed higher risks of fatty liver compared to the K-NAFLD-low group after adjustments for demographic and clinical characteristics,and FLi-moderate and FLi-high groups revealed aORs of 2.05(95%Ci:1.22-3.43)and 1.51(95%Ci:0.78-2.90),*** addition,the HSi was less predictive for Fibroscan®-defined fatty *** K-NAFLD and FLi also demonstrated high accuracy in the prediction of fatty liver in patients with alcohol consumption and chronic hepatitis virus infection,and the adjusted area under curve values were comparable between K-NAFLD and ***:Externally validation of the K-NAFLD and FLi showed that these scores may be a useful,noninvasive,and non-imaging modality for the identification of fatty *** addition,these scores also predicted fatty liver in patients with alcohol consumption and chronic hepatitis virus infection.

in recent years,sodium-ion batteries(SiBs)have emerged as a promising technology for energy storage systems(ESSs)because of the abundance and affordability of ***,metal selenides have been studied as promising high-performance conversion-type anode materials in *** them,nickel se-lenide(NiSe_(2))has received considerable attention due to its high theoretical capacity of 495 mAh g^(-1)and ***,it still suffers from poor cycling stability because of the low electrochemical reactivity,large volume expansion,and structural instability during *** address these challenges,NiSe_(2)nanoparticles encapsulated in N-doped graphitic carbon fibers(NiSe_(2)@NGCF)were synthesized by using ZiF-8 as a ***_(2)@NGCF showed a high discharge capacity of 558.3 mAh g^(-1)with a fading rate of 0.14%per cycle after 200 cycles at 0.5 A g^(-1)in 0.01-3.0 *** a very high current density of 5 A g^(-1),the capacity still displayed excellent long-term cycle life with a discharge capacity of 406.1 mAh g^(-1)with a fading rate of 0.016%per cycle after 3000 *** mechanism of the excellent electrochem-ical performance of NiSe_(2)@NGCF was thoroughly investigated by ex-situ XRD,TEM,and SEM ***,NiSe_(2)@NGCF//Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)full-cell also delivered an excellent reversible capacity of 378.7 mAh g^(−1)at 0.1 A g^(−1)after 50 cycles,demonstrating its potential for practical application in SiBs.

Lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)have drawn significant attention owing to their high theoretical discharge capacity and energy ***,the dissolution of long-ch.in polysulfides into the electrolyte during the charge and discharge process(“shuttle effect”)results in fast capacity fading and inferior electrochemical *** this study,Mn_(2)O_(3)with an ordered mesoporous structure(OM-Mn_(2)O_(3))was designed as a cathode host for LSBs via KiT-6 hard templating,to effectively inhibit the polysulfide shuttle ***-Mn_(2)O_(3)offers numerous pores to confine sulfur and tightly anchor the dissolved polysulfides through the combined effects of strong polar-polar interactions,polysulfides,and sulfur ch.in *** OM-Mn_(2)O_(3)/S composite electrode delivered a discharge capacity of 561 mAh g^(-1) after 250 cycles at 0.5 C owing to the excellent performance of OM-Mn_(2)O_(3).Furthermore,it retained a discharge capacity of 628mA h g^(-1) even at a rate of 2 C,which was significantly higher than that of a pristine sulfur electrode(206mA h g^(-1)).These findings provide a prospective strategy for designing cathode materials for high-performance LSBs.

To demonstrate flexible and tandem device applications,a low-temperature Cu_(2)ZnSnSe_(4)(CZTSe)deposition process,combined with efficient alkali doping,was ***,high-quality CZTSe films were grown at 480℃by a single co-evaporation,which.is applicable to polyimide(Pi)*** of the alkali-free substrate,Na and K alkali doping were systematically studied and optimized to precisely control the alkali distribution in *** bulk defect density was significantly reduced by suppression of deep acceptor states after the(NaF+KF)*** the low-temperature deposition with(NaF+KF)PDTs,the CZTSe device on glass yields the best efficiency of 8.1%with an improved Voc deficit of 646 *** developed deposition technologies have been applied to *** the first time,we report the highest efficiency of 6.92%for flexible CZTSe solar cells on ***,CZTSe devices were utilized as bottom cells to fabricate four-terminal CZTSe/perovskite tandem cells because of a low bandgap of CZTSe(~1.0 eV)so that the tandem cell yielded an efficiency of 20%.The obtained results show that CZTSe solar cells prepared by a low-temperature process with in-situ alkali doping can be utilized for flexible thin-film solar cells as well as tandem device applications.

Magnesium-ion batteries(MiBs)have promising applications because of their high theoretical capacity and the natural abundance of magnesium ***,the kinetic performance and cyclic stability of cathode materials are limited by the strong interactions between Mg ions and the crystal ***,we demonstrate the unique Mg^(2+)-ion storage mechanism of a hierarchical accordion-like vanadium oxide/carbon heterointerface(V2O3@C),where the V2O3 crystalline structure is reconstructed into a MgV_(3)O_(7)·H_(2)O phase through an anodic hydration reaction upon first cycle,for the improved kinetic and cyclic *** verified by in situ/ex situ spectroscopic and electrochemical analyses,the fast charge transfer kinetics of the V2O3@C cathode were due to the crystal-reconstruction and chemically coupled *** V2O3@C demonstrated an ultrahigh rate capacity of 130.4 mAh g^(-1)at 50000 mA g^(-1)and 1000 cycles,achieving a Coulombic efficiency of 99.6%.The high capacity of 381.0 mA h g^(-1)can be attributed to the reversible Mg^(2+)-ion intercalation mechanism observed in the MgV_(3)O_(7)·H_(2)O phase using a 0.3 M Mg(TFSi)2/ACN(H_(2)O)***,within the voltage range of 2.25 V versus Mg/Mg^(2+),the V2O3@C exhibited a capacity of 245.1 mAh g^(-1)when evaluated with magnesium metal in a 0.3 M Mg(TFSi)^(2+)0.25 M MgCl_(2)/DME *** research findings have important implications for understanding the relationship between the Mg-ion storage mechanism and reconstructed crystal phase of vanadium oxides as well as the heterointerface reconstruction for the rational design of MiB cathode materials.

Objective:To evaluate the effects of Catalpa bignonioides fruit extract on the promotion of muscle growth and muscular capacity in vitro and in ***:Cell viability was measured using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide *** proliferation was assessed using a 5-bromo-2’-deoxyuridine(BrdU)assay *** blot analysis was performed to determine the protein expressions of related *** effects of Catalpa bignonioides extract were investigated in mice using the treadmill exhaustion test and whole-limb grip strength *** composition analysis was performed using high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).Results:Catalpa bignonioides extract increased the proliferation of C2C12 mouse myoblasts by activating the Akt/mTOR signaling *** also induced metabolic changes,increasing the number of mitochondria and glucose metabolism by phosphorylating adenosine monophosphate-activated protein *** an in vivo study,the extract-treated mice showed improved motor abilities,such as muscular endurance and grip ***,HPLC analysis showed that vanillic acid may be the main component of the Catalpa bignonioides extract that enhanced muscle ***:Catalpa bignonioides improves exercise performance through regulation of growth and metabolism in skeletal muscles,suggesting its potential as an effective natural agent for improving muscular strength.

BACKGROUND Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis(HLH)is a rare,life-threatening disorder caused by abnormal histiocytes and T cell *** adults,it is predominantly associated with infections,cancers,and autoimmune *** polychondritis(RP),another rare disease,is diagnosed based on symptoms without specific tests,featuring cartilage inflammation characterized by swelling,redness,and pain,rarely inducing *** SUMMARY A 74-year-old woman visited the emergency room with a fever of 38.6℃.Blood tests,cultures,and imaging were performed to evaluate *** showed increased fluorescent antinuclear antibody levels and mild cytopenia,with no other specific *** revealed lymph node enlargement was observed;however,biopsy results were *** re-evaluation of the physical exam,inflammatory signs suggestive of RP were observed in the ears and nose,prompting a tissue biopsy for ***,persistent fever accompanied by cytopenia prompted a bone marrow examination,revealing hemophagocytic *** finding no significant results in blood culture,viral markers,and tissue examination of enlarged lymph nodes,HLH was diagnosed by *** involved methylprednisolone followed by *** two months,bone marrow examination confirmed resolution of hemophagocytosis,with normalization of hyperferritinemia and *** Thorough physical examination enabled diagnosis and treatment of HLH trig gered by RP in patients presenting with fever of unknown origin.
