Influence of oxygen content on the microstructure and mechanical properties of cold rolled Ti-32.5Nb-6.8Zr-2.7Sn-x O alloys after aging treatment

The influence of oxygen（O） content on the microstructure and mechanical properties of cold rolled Ti-32.5 Nb-6.8 Zr-2.7 Sn-xO（TNZS-xO; x = 0,0.***.0.6; mass%） alloys after aging at temperature range from 350 to 600℃ for 24 h was investigated. Results showed that the cold rolled TNZS-xO alloys possess single βphase. During the aging process, O could not only effectively suppress the precipitation of ω phase but also retard the formation and decomposition of a phase. In addition, the corresponding temperatures of the maximal volume fraction of α phase precipitation and the（α＋β）/β transus temperatures of the TNZS-xO alloys were all increased with the increasing of O content. For mechanical properties, it was found that the strength and Young＇s modulus of the TNZS-xO alloys increased owing to the ω phase and/or a phase precipitation and decreased owing to the a phase decomposition. However, the elongation showed the opposite change tendency with the above mentioned strength. The mechanical properties of TNZS-xO alloys can be controlled over a wide range by subjecting to aging treatment and/or changing their 0 content. When aged at or below 450 ℃,the TNZS-xO alloys exhibit great potential to become a series of new candidates for biomedical applications since they possess high strength（870-1460 MPa）, low Young＇s modulus（45.1-75.6 GPa）, high strength-to-modulus ratio（0.018-0.02） and appropriate elongation（7.2%-14.9%）, which are superior to those of Ti-6 Al-4 V alloy and suitable for the use as bio-implant materials.

Role of iron in host-microbiota interaction and its effects on intestinal mucosal growth and immune plasticity in a piglet model

Iron is an essential trace element for both the host and resident microbes in the gut. In this study, iron was administered orally and parenterally to anemic piglets to investigate the role of iron in host-microbiota interaction and its effects on intestinal mucosal growth and immune plasticity. We found that oral iron administration easily increased the abundance of Proteobacteria and Escherichia-Shigella, and decreased the abundance of Lactobacillus in the ileum. Furthermore, similar bacterial changes, namely an increase in Proteobacteria, Escherichia-Shigella, and Fusobacterium and a reduction in the Christensenellaceae_R-7_group,were observed in the colon of both iron-supplemented groups. Spearman's correlation analysis indicated that the changed Fusobacterium, Fusobacteria and Proteobacteria in the colon were positively correlated with hemoglobin, colon and spleen iron levels. Nevertheless, it was found that activated m TOR1 signaling, improved villous height and crypt depth in the ileum,enhanced immune communication, and increased protein expression of IL-22 and IL-10 in the colon of both iron-supplemented groups. In conclusion, the benefits of improved host iron outweigh the risks of altered gut microbiota for intestinal mucosal growth and immune regulation in treating iron deficiency anemia.

MUTS-Based Cooperative Target Stalking for A Multi-USV System

This paper is concerned with the cooperative target stalking for a multi-unmanned surface vehicle(multi-USV)system.Based on the multi-agent deep deterministic policy gradient(MADDPG)algorithm,a multi-USV target stalking(MUTS)algorithm is proposed.Firstly,a V-type probabilistic data extraction method is proposed for the first time to overcome shortcomings of the MADDPG algorithm.The advantages of the proposed method are twofold:1)it can reduce the amount of data and shorten training time;2)it can filter out more important data in the experience buffer for training.Secondly,in order to avoid the collisions of USVs during the stalking process,an action constraint method called Safe DDPG is introduced.Finally,the MUTS algorithm and some existing algorithms are compared in cooperative target stalking scenarios.In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed MUTS algorithm in stalking tasks,mission operating scenarios and reward functions are well designed in this paper.The proposed MUTS algorithm can help the multi-USV system avoid internal collisions during the mission execution.Moreover,compared with some existing algorithms,the newly proposed one can provide a higher convergence speed and a narrower convergence domain.

Research on Anthropomorphic Obstacle Avoidance Trajectory Planning for Adaptive Driving Scenarios Based on Inverse Reinforcement Learning Theory

The forward design of trajectory planning strategies requires preset trajectory optimization functions,resulting in poor adaptability of the strategy and an inability to accurately generate obstacle avoidance trajectories that conform to real driver behavior habits.In addition,owing to the strong time-varying dynamic characteristics of obstacle avoidance scenarios,it is necessary to design numerous trajectory optimization functions and adjust the corresponding parameters.Therefore,an anthropomorphic obstacle-avoidance trajectory planning strategy for adaptive driving scenarios is proposed.First,numerous expert-demonstrated trajectories are extracted from the HighD natural driving dataset.Subsequently,a trajectory expectation feature-matching algorithm is proposed that uses maximum entropy inverse reinforcement learning theory to learn the extracted expert-demonstrated trajectories and achieve automatic acquisition of the optimization function of the expert-demonstrated trajectory.Furthermore,a mapping model is constructed by combining the key driving scenario information that affects vehicle obstacle avoidance with the weight of the optimization function,and an anthropomorphic obstacle avoidance trajectory planning strategy for adaptive driving scenarios is proposed.Finally,the proposed strategy is verified based on real driving scenarios.The results show that the strategy can adjust the weight distribution of the trajectory optimization function in real time according to the“emergency degree”of obstacle avoidance and the state of the vehicle.Moreover,this strategy can generate anthropomorphic trajectories that are similar to expert-demonstrated trajectories,effectively improving the adaptability and acceptability of trajectories in driving scenarios.

Implantable artificial muscles are of great importance for muscle function restoration and physical augmentation but are still challenging.Herein,we report an artificial muscle by soaking-polymerization of polyaniline(PANI)inside a carbon nanotube(CNT)yarn.Working in aqueous biocompatible solutions,the yarn muscle generates a large contractile stroke of 17%and high isometric stress of 8 MPa at voltages lower than 2 V.The excellent performance can be ascribed to the large actuation volume that is enabled by the fast electrochemical redox of PANI confined in a coiled yarn structure.The actuation performance outperforms that of previously reported aqueous artificial yarn muscles.Moreover,the yarn muscle can work well and maintain excellent actuating performance in other biocompatible solutions such as normal saline and Na2SO4 aqueous solution,which makes the CNT/PANI yarn muscles suitable for implantable bionic applications.Finally,a biomimetic arm was fabricated to demonstrate the applications of the CNT/PANI yarn artificial muscle in implantable muscle,underwater robots,and soft exoskeletons.

Improved Corrosion Resistance of Ultrafine-Grained Mg-Gd-Zr Alloy Fabricated by Surface Friction Treatment

Gradient ultrafine-grained (UFG) Mg-2Gd-0.4Zr (wt%) alloy sheet, with a UFG layer of about 118 nm on the topmost treated surface, was fabricated by sliding friction treatment (SFT). The corrosion resistance of the SFT-processed UFG surface layer was greatly improved compared to the original coarse-grained (CG) structure, representing as a higher impedance and a lower corrosion rate (CG: 4.11 mm y^(−1), UFG: 2.71 mm y^(−1)). The UFG layer with high density of grain boundaries exhibits an excellent impeditive effect on the cracking of corrosion product films. Compared to the CG sample, the stable corrosion product film inhibits the formation of pitting so providing a better protective effect. In addition, the Gd-rich clusters are randomly distributed after SFT processing, which decreases the tendency of galvanic corrosion on the UFG surface.

Chicory polysaccharides alleviate high-fat diet-induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease via alteration of lipid metabolism-and inflammation-related gene expression

Administration of chicory polysaccharides(CP) can modify lipid metabolism, improve dyslipidemia, and reduce liver inflammation, all of which may help alleviate non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD). However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study aimed to gain further understanding of the potential molecular mechanisms that mediate the protective effects of CP against NAFLD via transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses. Hepatic RNA-sequencing analysis demonstrated that long-term intake of CP restored expression of lipid metabolism-related genes Xbp1, Insig2, and Cth in NAFLD rats, thereby inhibiting de novo lipogenesis. Moreover, CP consumption restored expression levels of genes involved in pro-inflammatory responses, such as Irf1. In addition, metabolic data confirmed that CP treatment increased levels of L-palmitoylcarnitine and hexadecanoyl-Co A, implying that CP administration can promote hepatic fatty acid β-oxidation. The present results demonstrate the underlying mechanisms of CP in high-fat dietinduced NAFLD rats and suggest that CP treatment might provide a dietary therapeutic tool for the treatment of NAFLD in humans.

A Review on Anode Side Interface Stability Micromechanisms and Engineering for Garnet Electrolyte-based Solid-state Batteries

Li-ion solid electrolytes,which are compatible with metallic lithium anodes,are the key component of all solid-state batteries.Recently,the garnet Li7La3Zr2O12 solid electrolyte has experienced booming development and shown great potential for its excellent overall performance.However,further understanding of its stability with lithium is required for a longer battery lifetime.In this review,latest research work on the interace between garnet-type solid electrolytes and lithium is presented,including both mechanisms governing interface stability and interface engineering methods.The development prospects and potential directions for following research are also discussed in the last section.

Hydrothermal hydrogenation/deoxygenation of palmitic acid to alkanes over Ni/activated carbon catalyst

To produce paraffin from hydrogenation/deoxygenation of palmitic acid,model compound of bio-oil obtained by hydrothermal liquefaction(HTL)of microalgae has been an attractive focus in recent years.In order to avoid energy-intensive separation process of water and bio-oil,it is of importance that deoxygenation upgrading of fatty acids under hydrothermal conditions similar to HTL process.Herein,it is the first time to explore the application of activated carbon(AC)-supported non-noble-metal catalysts,such as Ni,Co,and Mo,and so on,in the hydrothermal hydrogenation/deoxygenation of long-chain fatty acids,and the obtained Ni/AC-H(the Ni/AC was further H_(2)pre-reduced)is one of the best catalysts.In addition,it is found that the catalytic activity can be further improved by H_(2)pre-reduction of catalyst.Characterization results that are more low valences of nickel and oxygen vacancy can be obtained after H_(2)pre-reduction,thus significant promoting the deoxygenation especially the decarbonylation pathway of fatty acids.The total alkanes yield can reaches 95.9%at optimal conditions(280℃,360 min).This work confirmed that the low-priced AC-supported non-noble-metal catalysts have great potential compared with the noble-metal catalyst,in hydrothermal upgrading of bio-oil.

Efficient charge separation in hierarchical NiS@ZnIn_(2)S_(4) hollow nanospheres for photocatalytic water splitting

In this work,hierarchical Ni S@Zn In_(2)S_(4) heterostructure was developed by constructing ultra-thin Zn In;S;(ZIS) nanosheets on hollow Ni S nanospheres for hydrogen production from photocatalytic water splitting.The Ni S@ZIS displayed a strong optical absorption ability in the visible region and a high specific surface area of 33.14 m^(2)/g.The Type-I band alignment in Ni S@ZIS heterostructure was determined by the combination of UV–vis absorption spectroscopy and Mott-Schottky curves.The photocatalytic hydrogen production of Ni S@ZIS (1.24 mmol g;h;) was nearly 5.6 times higher than that of ZIS under visible light,in the absence of any co-catalyst and sacrificial agent.The separation and migration of charge in Ni S@ZIS were characterized by a series of spectroscopy and photo/electrochemical tests,which verified the efficient charge transfer from ZIS to Ni S.
