A novel live attenuated vaccine candidate protects chickens against subtype B avian metapneumovirus

Avian metapneumovirus(aMPV) is a highly contagious pathogen that causes acute upper respiratory tract diseases in chickens and turkeys, resulting in serious economic losses. Subtype B aMPV has recently become the dominant epidemic strain in China. We developed an attenuated aMPV subtype B strain by serial passaging in Vero cells and evaluated its safety and efficacy as a vaccine candidate. The safety test showed that after the 30th passage, the LN16-A strain was fully attenuated, as clinical signs of infection and histological lesions were absent after inoculation.The LN16-A strain did not revert to a virulent strain after five serial passages in chickens. The genomic sequence of LN16-A differed from that of the parent wild-type LN16(wtLN16) strain and had nine amino acid mutations. In chickens, a single immunization with LN16-A induced robust humoral and cellular immune responses, including the abundant production of neutralizing antibodies, CD4^(+) T lymphocytes, and the Th1(IFN-γ) and Th2(IL-4 and IL-6)cytokines. We also confirmed that LN16-A provided 100% protection against subtype B aMPV and significantly reduced viral shedding and turbinate inflammation. Our findings suggest that the LN16-A strain is a promising live attenuated vaccine candidate that can prevent infection with subtype B aMPV.

干扰模式识别是现代军事通信对抗中必不可少的一环,随着复杂电磁环境当中各种新型恶意干扰样式层出不穷,对于未知型干扰的判决也变得愈发重要。因此,要求干扰模式识别算法保持对于已知型干扰高精度识别的同时,也能够完成对于未知型干扰的判决,以排除未知型恶意干扰的影响。基于此,该文将未知型干扰存在时的干扰模式识别问题建模为开集识别问题,并提出一种基于超球面3元组编码的干扰模式开集识别方法。所提方法基于超球面3元组对输入的时频图像进行降维编码以提高识别精度,然后采用元识别分类器准确地完成干扰模式开集识别任务。通过仿真试验证明该算法在干信比大于–2 dB时能够高效地完成开放空间中的干扰模式识别任务。

Determination of Hg^2＋ in Tap Water Based on the Electro- chemiluminescence of Ru（phen）3^2＋ and Thymine at Bare and Graphene Oxide-Modified Glassy Carbon Electrodes

The electrochemiluminescence （ECL） of the Ru（phen）3^2＋/thymine （T） system at bare and graphene oxide （GO）-modified glassy carbon （GC） electrodes was utilized to determine Hg2＋ in tap water. The ECL intensity of Ru（phen）3^2＋ was considerably enhanced by the addition of thymine because of the occurrence of ECL tion between them. Subsequently, the ECL intensity of Ru（phen）3^2＋/T system rapidly decreased with the addition of Ru（phen）3^2＋ because of the formation ofa T-Hg^2＋-T complex. A linear response （R2=0.9914） was obtained over a Hg^2＋ concentration range of 1.0×10 9 mol/L to 1.0×10^-5 mol/L with a detection limit of 3.4×10^-10 mol/L at a bare GC electrode in 0.1 mol/L phosphate buffer （pH=8.0）. The detection limit can be further reduced to 4.2 ×10^-12 mol/L after modification of the GC electrode by GO. To verify its applicability, the proposed method was utilized to determine Hg^2＋ in tap water and simulated wastewater. The method exhibited good reproducibility and stability and thus reveals the possibility of developing a novel ECL detection method for Hg^2＋.

A single mutation in the PBC loop of VP2 is involved in the in vitro replication of infectious bursal disease virus

To test whether amino acid mutations in the PBC and PHI loops of VP2 are involved in the replication and virulence of infectious bursal disease virus(IBDV), a pair of viruses, namely the moderately virulent IBDV(rG x-F9VP2) and the attenuated strain(rGt), were used. Residue mutations A222P(P_(BC)) and S330R(PHI), selected by sequence comparison, were introduced individually into r Gx-F9VP2 by using a reverse genetics system. In addition, the reverse mutation of either P222 A or R330 S was introduced into r Gt. The four modified viruses were then rescued and evaluated in vitro(CEF cells) and in vivo(SPF chickens). Results showed that A222 P elevated the replication efficiency of rG x-F9VP2 while P222 A reduced that of rG t in CEF cells. A mutation at residue 330 did not alter IBDV replication. In addition, animal experiments showed that a single mutation at either residue 222 or 330 did not significantly influence the virulence of IBDV. In conclusion, residue 222 in PBC of VP2 is involved in the replication efficiency of IBDV in vitro but does not affect its virulence in vivo, further facilitating our understanding of the gene-function of IBDV.

围绕陆军常规红外成像制导导弹试验鉴定仿真实验需求,对仿真系统进行了特点分析,设计了红外成像制导导弹试验鉴定半实物仿真实验系统。解决了系统通用化设计、异构通讯数据快速迭代开发、高辐射红外干扰双通道耦合仿真、高精度定时与时间同步、复杂战场环境生成等关键技术。通过典型反坦克和直升机机载导弹等试验,进行了应用验证。系统可用于红外成像制导导弹鉴定仿真实验,为武器系统实战化考核、极限边界性能和抗干扰性能试验等提供有力支撑。

Examples of predator–prey interactions in which flies rob ants are uncommon.To date,this behavior has only been recorded in the genus Bengalia Robineau-Desvoidy(Bengaliinae,Diptera,Calliphoridae).These predatory flies ambush ants,and rob them of the food or offspring that they are carrying.However,because of the rarity of this behavior,the reasons and consequences(evolutionary advantages)are unknown,and indeed,the behavior has been sometimes considered anecdotal.In this study,we employed field investigations and behavioral analyses to investigate whether the sex of the fly Bengalia varicolor,or the weight and quality of the food carried by Pheidole nodus ants influenced fly–ant interactions in their natural habitats.We show that food weight and quality influenced the behavior of B.varicolor independent of the fly’s sex.Robbing behavior by the flies was more successful when the food robbed was of high-quality and light in weight.Furthermore,the weight of the food robbed modulated the escape distance the flies could carry it.This then may affect the food quality and weight transported by the ants.This is a novel example of deciphering the relationship between highwayman flies and their ant victims.Given the widespread distribution of Bengalia flies,we suggest that such interspecific predator–prey encounters may shape the robbery interactions and the carrying behavior of further ant species in nature.

Classification of Sailboat Tell Tail Based on Deep Learning

The tell tail is usually placed on the triangular sail to display the running state of the air flow on the sail surface.It is of great significance to make accurate judgement on the drift of the tell tail of the sailboat during sailing for the best sailing effect.Normally it is difficult for sailors to keep an eye for a long time on the tell sail for accurate judging its changes,affected by strong sunlight and visual fatigue.In this case,we adopt computer vision technology in hope of helping the sailors judge the changes of the tell tail in ease with ease.This paper proposes for the first time a method to classify sailboat tell tails based on deep learning and an expert guidance system,supported by a sailboat tell tail classification data set on the expert guidance system of interpreting the tell tails states in different sea wind conditions,including the feature extraction performance.Considering the expression capabilities that vary with the computational features in different visual tasks,the paper focuses on five tell tail computing features,which are recoded by an automatic encoder and classified by a SVM classifier.All experimental samples were randomly divided into five groups,and four groups were selected from each group as the training set to train the classifier.The remaining one group was used as the test set for testing.The highest resolution value of the ResNet network was 80.26%.To achieve better operational results on the basis of deep computing features obtained through the ResNet network in the experiments.The method can be used to assist the sailors in making better judgement about the tell tail changes during sailing.

A statistical end-to-end performance model for networks with complex topologies

Network calculus provides new tools for performance analysis of networks, but analyzing networks with complex topologies is a challenging research issue using statistical network calculus. A service model is proposed to characterize a service process of network with complex topologies. To obtain closed-form expression of statistical end-to-end performance bounds for a wide range of traffic source models, the traffic model and service model are expanded according to error function. Based on the proposed models, the explicit end-to-end delay bound of Fractional Brownian Motion (FBM) traffic is derived, the factors that affect the delay bound are analyzed, and a comparison between theoretical and simulation results is performed. The results illustrate that the proposed models not only fit the network behaviors well, but also facilitate the network performance analysis. Copyright © by HIGH TECHNOLOGY LETTERS PRESS.
