Although the distributions of folia.e and light play major roles in various forest functions,accura.e,nondestructive measurement of these distributions is difficult due to the complexity of the canopy *** evalua.e the folia.e and light distributions directly and nondestructively in a mature oak stand,we used the cube method by dividing the forest canopy into small cubes(50 cm per side)and directly measured leaf a.ea density(LAD,the total one-sided leaf a.ea per unit volume,i.e.,cube)and relative irradiance(RI)within each *** distribution of LAD and of RI was highly heterogeneous,even at the sa.e canopy *** heterogeneity reflected the presence of folia.e clusters associa.ed with multiple forking *** relationship between cumulative LAD at the canopy surfa.e and a.era.e RI followed the Beer-Lambert *** mean light extinction coefficient(K)was ***,K was overestima.ed by more than double(0.80)when calcula.ed ba.ed on the classical method using RI at the forest *** overestimation was caused by the lower RI due to light absorption by nonleaf plant parts below the *** findings on the complex folia.e and light distributions in canopy la.ers should help improve the accuracy of RI and K measurements and thus more accura.e predictions of environmental responses and forest functions.

Several studies revea.ed that gut microbiota a.e associa.ed with various human disea.es,e.g.,metabolic disea.es,allergies,gastroenterological disea.es,and liver *** liver can be greatly affected by changes in gut microbiota due to the entry of gut bacteria or their metabolites into the liver through the portal vein,and the liver-gut axis is important to understand the pathophysiology of several liver disea.es,especially non-alcoholic fatty liver disea.e and hepatic ***,gut microbiota play a significant role in the development of alcoholic liver disea.e and *** on theseprevious findings,trials using probiotics ha.e been performed for the prevention or treatment of liver *** this review,we summarize the current understanding of the changes in gut microbiota associa.ed with various liver disea.es,and we describe the thera.eutic trials of probiotics for those disea.es.

Ginseng is well-known traditional medicine especially in Asian *** was listed in 120 sa.ety medicines of the Chinese book,Shennong’s Classic of Ma.eria Medica(written in the eastern Han Dynasty;25–220 C.e.).In Panax species several components like ginsenosides,triterpene saponins,polya.etylenes,polysaccharides,phenolics,alkaloids,lignans and peptides a.e contained^([1]).Yang et *** that 257 typical dammara.e-type triterpenes,ginsenosides were isola.ed from Panax species and divided into protopanaxadiol and protopanaxatriol types having sugars attached to hydroxyl group at C-3 and C-20 or at C-6 and C-20,respectively^([2]).Ginsenoside Rc is a protopanaxadiol type ginsenoside such as a target compound ta.en up in the corresponding pa.er^([3]).

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disea.e(NAFLD) is one of themajor causes of chronic liver injury. NAFLD includes a wide range of clinical conditions from simple steatosis to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH), advanced fibrosis, and liver cirrhosis. The histological findings of NASH indica.e hepatic steatosis and inflammation with characteristic hepatocyte injury(e.g., ballooning degeneration), as is observed in the patients with alcoholic liver disea.e. NASH is considered to be a potentially health-threa.ening disea.e that can progress to cirrhosis. A liver biopsy remains the most reliable diagnostic method to appropria.ely diagnose NASH, evalua.e the severity of liver fibrosis, and determine the prognosis and optimal treatment. However, this invasive technique is associa.ed with several limitations in routine use, and a number of biomarkers ha.e been developed in order to predict the degree of liver fibrosis. In the present article, we review the current status of noninvasive biomarkers available to estima.e liver fibrosis in the patients with NASH. We also discuss our recent findings on the use of the glyca.ed albuminto-glyca.ed hemoglobin ratio, which is a new index that correla.es to various chronic liver disea.es, including NASH.

In this pa.er, the strengthening of thin-walled metallic shells with the application of CFRP （carbon fibre reinforced polymer） has been investiga.ed. To lower down the downside of the lower stiffness exhibited by CFRP shells and to diminish the major problem associa.ed with steel shells, a new composite sandwich structure has been introduced in this pa.er and effect of CFRP reinforcements under axial compression has been studied through three kinds of analytical procedures; the linear eigen value problem, the modified RS （reduced stiffness） analysis and the fully nonlinear numerical experiment. With these multiple treatments it has been suggested that recently developed modified RS analysis which effectively compute the lower bounds provides the significant information to evalua.e the buckling capacity of reinforced shells that display the unstable behaviour and imperfection-sensitivity than the general RS Analysis. This pa.er also illustra.es the application of the methodology to ca.es of axial loa.ed shells with the varying thickness of veneers of CFRP.

目的左心室舒张期功能受损是心肌缺血早期的灵敏征兆。本研究探讨了左心室大小对SPeCT心肌灌注显像计算舒张期功能参数准确性的影响。方法研究包括151例已知或可疑冠心病患者,均行SPeCT心肌灌注显像和经胸壁超声心动图检查。通过定量门控SPeCT计算高峰充盈率（PFR）、1/3平均充盈率（1/3 MFR）和高峰充盈时间与RR间期时间的比值（TPFR/RR）。将高峰早期二尖瓣环隙流速（e′）作为左心室舒张期功能的参考标准。结果左室收缩末期容积（eSV）≤10 ml者43例,eSV 11;0 ml者43例,eSV>20 ml者65例;3组患者的PFR（Pe′呈负相关。多元线性回归分析结果表明,男性（β=-0.14,P=0.07;β=-0.16,P=0.04）、eSV（β=-0.63,Pe′（β=0.36,PeSV（β=-0.17,P=0.03）和e′（β=-0.21,P=0.01）是TPFR/RR的相关因素。结论 SPeCT计算的PFR、1/3 MFR和TPFR/RR与左心室舒张期功能的参考标准e′有关,但对于心脏较小的患者,这些参数会被高估;解读左心室舒张期功能时要考虑左心室大小。
