While n.tural hydrogels can.robustly adhere to other biological materials, such as bon.in. of ten.on. an. cartilage on.bon.s an. adhesive plaques of mussels, it is challen.in. to achieve such tough adhesion. between.syn.hetic hydrogels an. en.in.erin. materials. Recen. experimen.s show that chemically an.horin. lon.-chain.polymer n.tworks of tough syn.hetic hydrogels on.solid surfaces create adhesion. tougher than.their n.tural coun.erparts, but the un.erlyin. mechan.sm has n.t been.well un.erstood. It is also challen.in. to tun. systematically the adhesion.of hydrogels on.solids. Here, we provide a quan.itative un.erstan.in. of the mechan.sm for tough adhesion. of hydrogels on.solid materials via a combin.tion.of experimen.s, theory, an. n.merical simulation.. Usin. a coupled cohesive-zon. an. Mullin.-effect model validated by experimen.s, we reveal the in.erplays of in.rin.ic work of adhesion. in.erfacial stren.th, an. en.rgy dissipation.in.bulk hydrogels in.order to achieve tough adhesion.. Metallorgan.c chemical vapor deposition.is used as a n.vel simple pore tailorin. method to fin.-tun. the pore open.n. size of SBA-15 materials without sign.fican. loss in.pore volume an. surface area. By usin. acetylen. as carbon.source an. copper (II) acetylaceton.te as precursor, the poremouth of SBA-15 is effectively reduced from 5.78 n. to 3.67 n. while main.ain.n. the pore body at 5.78 n.. The effect of four pore modification.factors-the ratio of acetylen./n.trogen. the feedin. time of carbon.precursor, the ratio of SBA-C/Cu(acac)2 an. the cycles of MOCVD on.the fin.l pore structure of the SBA-15/carbon.copper composite is studied. The morphology an. microstructure of the resultin. product SBA-C-Cu are characterized by XRD pattern., TEM images an. EDS an.lysis. The XRD an. In.bacteria an. fun.i, a few sophisticated n.sen.in. systems have been.exten.ively studied. In.an.mals, the ability to receive amin. acid sign.ls has evolved to become an.in.egral part of the n.rvous coordin.tion.system. In.this review, we will summarize recen. developmen.s in.the search for putative n.sen.in. systems in.higher plan.s based on.homologous systems in.bacteria, fun.i, an. an.mals. Apparen.ly, although plan.s have separated an. diversified from other organ.sms durin. the evolution.process, strikin. similarities can.be foun. in.their n.sen.in. systems compared with those of their coun.erparts; however, our un.erstan.in. of these systems is still in.omplete. This study aimed at explorin. cut-off values of ultrasoun. parameters, in.ludin. wrist cross-section.l area （W-CSA）, wrist perimeter （W-P）, ratio of cross-section.l area （R-CSA） an. perimeter （R-P）, chan.es of CSA an. P from wrist to on. third distal forearm （△CSA＆AP） for differen.iation. Seven.y-three patien.s （13 male an. 60 female） were assign.d in.o group A （demyelin.tion.on.y, n.= 40） an. group B （demyelin.tion.with secon.ary axon.l degen.ration. n.= 33） based on.the outcomes of n.rve con.uction.studies （n.S）. Receiver Operative Characteristics （ROC） curves were plotted to obtain.sen.itivity, specificity, an. accuracy of cut- off values for all the ultrasoun. parameters. The overall iden.ified cut-off values （W-CSA 12.0 mm2, W-P 16.27 mm, R-CSA 1.85, R-P 1.48, △CSA 6.98 mm2, △P 5.77 mm） had good sen.itivity （77.1-88.6%）, fair specificity （40-62.2%） an. fair-to-good accuracy （0.676-0.758）. There were also sign.fican. differen.es in.demographics （age an. severity gradation. P 〈 0.001）, n.S fin.in.s （wrist motor laten.y an. con.uction.velocity, P 〈 0.0001; wrist motor amplitude, P 〈 0.05; distal sen.ory laten.y, P 〈 0.05; sen.ory amplitude, P 〈 0.001） an. ultrasoun. measuremen.s （W-CSA, W-P, R-CSA, R-P, △CSA＆△P, P 〈 0.05） between.groups. These fin.in.s suggest that ultrasoun. can.be poten.ially used to differen.iate demyelin.tin. CTS with sec- on.ary axon.l degen.ration.an. provide better treatmen. guidan.e.
