A minimized fluorescent chemosensor array utilizing carboxylate-attached polythiophenes on a chip for metal ions detection

Chemosensor arrays have a great potential for on-site applications in real-world ***,to fabricate on chemosensor array a number of chemosensors are required to obtain various optical patterns for multianalyte ***,we propose a minimized chemosensor array composed of only two types of carboxylate-functionalized polythiophene derivatives for the detection of eight types of metal *** recognition of the metal ions,the polythiophenes exhibited changes in their fluorescence intensity and various spectral *** both chemosensors have the same polymer backbone and recognition moiety,only the difference in the number of methylene groups contributed to the difference in the fluorescence response ***,the metal ions in aqueous media were successfully discriminated qualitatively and quantitatively by the chemosensor microarray on the glass *** study offers an approach for achieving a minimized chemosensor array just by changing the alkyl chain lengths without the necessity for many receptors and reporters.

Panax genus belonging to a family of Araliaceae grow in Asia(9 species)and in North America(2 species).Especially Panax ginseng was listed in Chinese medical book,Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica approximately 2 thousand years ago and Panax species are now one of the most important natural *** Panax species contain approximately 260 ginsenosides,its quality control and pharmacological movement of ginsenoside in body are not enough *** antibodies against ginsenosides were prepared and set up the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay system for the quality control of natural ***,we developed Eastern blotting system using monoclonal antibodies resulted that protopanaxadiol and protopanaxatriol group ginsenosides can be separately stained by two corresponding monoclonal antibodies,*** became evident that the ginseng slice was stained by Eastern blotting *** staining of ginseng can make clear the ginsenoside-Rb1 distribution in cells and *** Eastern blotting system facilitated by two monoclonal antibodies like anti-ginsenoside-Rb1 and anti-ginsenoside-Rg1 monoclonal antibodies gives several information such as sugar number,structure,and qualitative/quantitative *** column combined with monoclonal antibodies succeeded one-step isolation of ginsenoside and make it possible to prepare knockout extract of which only antigen molecule was removed suggesting the pharmacological and biological value of antigen molecule in the crude extract.

Validation of Dimensionless Parameters for Distinguishing between Homogeneous and Bubbling Fluidizations

The difference between homogeneous and bubbling fluidization behaviors has been studied for the past 70 years, where several researchers have reported on the influence of interparticle forces in fluidization. Although interparticle forces such as van der Waals forces are evident in a real system, these forces are not the determinant in homogeneous fluidization, which can be simulated without any interparticle forces. In our previous study, the difference in fundamental mechanisms of the two fluidization states was analytically determined with a dimensionless gravity term, comprising the Reynolds number, Archimedes number, and density ratio. Nevertheless, some researchers insist that interparticle forces are dominant and a hydrodynamic force is not dominant. In this study, a dimensional analysis was applied to obtain a dominant parameter for distinguishing two fluidizations. Furthermore, some parameters were examined by comparing the experimental data in previous studies. The results indicated that hydrodynamic force is the dominant factor and the dimensionless gravity term is the dominant parameter in differentiating the two fluidized states.

Supercritical Water as a Reaction Medium for Nitrogen-Containing Heterocycles

Supercritical water has been focused on as an environmentally attractive reaction media, in which organic materials can be decomposed into smaller molecules. The reaction behavior of pyrrole as a simple model compound of nonbasic nitrogen compounds found in petroleum residua was studied in supercritical water with a batch type reactor. The reaction was carried out at temperatures of 698-748 K and at various pressures under an argon atmosphere. The chemical species in the aqueous products were identified by GCMS (gas chromatography mass spectrometry) and quantified using GC-FID (gas chromatography flame ionization detector). The effect of temperature and reaction time on the conversion process of pyrrole is presented. Under supercritical water conditions, pyrrole underwent successful decomposition in water into its derived compounds. The conversion of pyrrole could approach 81.12 wt% at 723 K and 40 MPa within 240 min of reaction time. The decomposition process was accelerated with the existence of water at the same temperature. Ultimate analysis of solid products was also conducted using a CHN analyzer. The process investigated in this study may form the basis for an efficient method of nitrogen compound decomposition in future.
