The alkaline oceanic island basalts(OIBs)with under-saturated SiO2 and high contents of CaO and alkaline are usually attributed to mantle sources different from typical tholeiitic *** on the results of high pressure and temperature experiment study,the genesis of silica under-saturated alkaline basaltic melts could be explained by the role of CO2,thus,the genetic relationship of alkaline basalts with CO2 has become a topic of relevance because it is closely related to the deep carbon *** Magellan Seamount chain in the West Pacific Seamount Province has wide distribution of alkali *** the first time,we collected alkaline basalt samples from the Kocebu Seamount of the Magellan Seamount chain and found that magmatic apatites widely occur in the less evolved volcanic rock samples,and the high contents of phosphorus should be a feature of the alkaline OIBs of the Magellan *** with typical OIBs,these alkaline volcanic rocks have higher CaO and P2O5,lower SiO2 content,negative anomaly of high field strength elements(HFSEs),more distinctly negative anomaly of potassium(K)and the ubiquity of titanaugite,indicating a CO2-rich mantle *** on the relatively high K2O and TiO2 contents and La/Yb ratio and low MgO content of these alkaline rocks,we suggest that the volcanic rocks of the Magellan Seamounts are originated from carbonated eclogites derived possibly from ancient subducted altered oceanic crust.

Interface degradation between mandrel and sheath can cause a decrease in insulation performance and mechanical strength of composite *** this study,the interface ageing properties of cycloaliphatic epoxy resin and silicone rubber composite insulator were compared.A water diffusion test was adopted to simulate the composite insulator ageing in a hot and humid environment.A four-electrode system was built to detect leakage current at different locations(mandrel,sheath and interface),which is an important basis for evaluating insulator *** ageing degree of insulator could be quantitatively characterised by leakage current *** was found that the infiltrated moisture had a great effect on insulation *** on the water absorption test result,the interface performance of two insulators was mainly influenced by their sheath sealing *** an auxiliary evaluation method,temperature rise during the test was recorded using an infrared *** experiment results showed that interface degradation was the main factor for the insulation performance decrease of silicone rubber composite ***,insulation level reduction of the cycloaliphatic epoxy resin was caused by the wet *** addition,a model for temperature rise of cycloaliphatic epoxy resin insulators was proposed based on good correspondence between sheath material and *** model incorporated multiple processes such as ageing and heating of insulators,and it can predict the early temperature rise well.

The lack of hydrophobicity transfer capability has restricted the applications of insulating materials in environments with heavy *** this study,an epoxy resin insulating composite was prepared using a micro-capsule system to achieve hydrophobicity transfer triggered by creepage *** influence of the micro-capsules on the electrical properties of insulating materials and the hydrophobicity of the test samples before and after the creepage discharge test was *** results show that the poly(urea-formaldehyde)micro-capsules,which contained hydrogen silicone oil,have good morphology and thermal stability characteristics at temperatures below 222℃.Microcapsules have minor effects on the electrical properties of epoxy insulating ***,the hydrophobicity transfer capability of the test piece was improved considerably compared with that of the pure epoxy insulating *** study expands the application of micro-capsule technology in the field of insulating materials and provides a reference for the development of next-generation insulating materials.

In polymer physics,the concept of entanglement refers to the topological constraints between long polymer chains that are closely packed *** theory and experimentation suggest that entanglement has a significant influence on the mechanical properties of *** indicates its promise for materials design across various ***,understanding the relationship between entanglement and mechanical properties is complex,especially due to challenges related to length scale constraints and the diffculties of direct experimental *** research delves into how the polymer network structure changes when *** specifically examine the relationship between entanglement,crosslinked networks,and their roles in stretching both entangled and unentangled polymer *** unentangled polymers,our findings underscore the pivotal role of crosslinking bond strength in determining the system's overall strength and resistance to *** for entangled polymers,entanglement plays a pivotal role in load bearing during the initial stretching stage,preserving the integrity of the polymer *** the stretching continues and entanglement diminishes,the responsibility for bearing the load increasingly shifts to the crosslinking network,signifying a critical change in the system's *** noted a linear correlation between the increase in entanglement and the rise in tensile stress during the initial stretching ***,the destruction of the network correlates with a decrease in tensile stress in the later *** findings provide vital insights into the complex dynamics between entanglement and crosslinking in the stretching processes of polymer networks,offering valuable guidance for future manipulation and design of polymer materials to achieve desired'mechanical properties.

Polarization and conductance losses are the fundamental dielectric attenuation mechanisms for graphene-based absorbers, but it is not fully understood in revealing the loss mechanism of affect graphene itself. For the first time, the reduced graphene oxide(RGO) based absorbers are developed with regulatory absorption properties and the absorption mechanism of RGO is mainly originated from the carrier injection behavior of trace metal Fe nanosheets on graphene. Accordingly, the minimum reflection loss(RLmin) of Fe/RGO-2composite reaches-53.38 dB(2.45 mm), and the effective absorption bandwidth achieves 7.52 GHz(2.62 mm) with lower filling loading of 2 wt%. Using off-axis electron hologram testing combined with simulation calculation and carrier transport property experiments, we demonstrate here the carrier injection behavior from Fe to graphene at the interface and the induced charge accumulation and rearrangement, resulting in the increased interfacial and dipole polarization and the conductance loss. This work has confirmed that regulating the dielectric property of graphene itself by adding trace metals can not only ensure good impedance matching, but also fully exploit the dielectric loss ability of graphene at low filler content,which opens up an efficient way for designing lightweight absorbers and may be extended to other types materials.

The field of electromagnetic wave absorption(EWA)requires the adaptability,tenability,and multifunction of high-performance materials in the *** design and preparation of EWA materials aiming at performance requirements is the latest research ***,a performancedriven strategy for simultaneously coordinating different target performances was proposed to optimize the structure of the periodical long continuous carbon/glass fiber fabric(PCGF)materials through algorithm and *** optimized structure of the PCGF not only improves the impedance matching,but also introduces the induced orientation effect for a high cooperative loss of conductivity,resonance,and periodic *** flexible PCGF shows a broad effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 32.7 GHz covering a part of the C-band and the whole X-,Ku-,K-,and Ka-bands with a thickness(d)of only 0.92 mm and a density of 5.6×10^(−4) kg·cm^(−3).This highly designable fabric is promising for the EWA practical application owing to integrating the characteristics of good flexibility,acid and alkali resistance,bending resistance,excellent mechanical properties,and easy large-scale preparation.

Wood-derived carbon has a 3D porous framework composed of through channels along the growth direction,which is a suitable matrix for preparing electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorbing materials with low cost,light weight,and environmental ***,the carbonized wood decorated by short cone-like NiCo_(2)O_(4)(NiCo_(2)O_(4)@CW)with highly ordered straight-channel architecture was successfully manufactured through a facile calcination *** horizontal arrangement of the through channels of NiCo_(2)O_(4)@CW(H-NiCo_(2)O_(4)@CW)exhibits a strong reflection loss value of-64.0 dB at 10.72 GHz with a thickness of 3.62 mm and a low filling ratio of 26 wt%(with the density of 0.98 g-cnf3),and the effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)is 8.08 GHz(9.92-18.0 GHz)at the thickness of 3.2 *** excellent microwave absorption(MA)property was ascribed to the ordered-channel structure with abundant interfaces and defects from NiCo_(2)O_(4)@CW,which could promote the interfacial polarization and dipole *** is more,this advantageous structure increased the multiple reflections and *** element analysis(FEA)simulation is carried out to detect the interaction between the prepared material and EMW when the ordered channels are arranged in different *** research provides a low-cost,sustainable,and environmentally friendly strategy for using carbonized wood to fabricate microwave absorbers with strong attenuation capabilities and light weight.

Effect of multiphase content on temperature-dependent electrical conductivity in silicone rubber composites

To investigate how the multiphase structures affect the electrical conductivity in semicrystalline polymer composites,herein,an accurate multiphase content calculation method is proposed and verified,which combines amorphous phase information in broadband dielectric spectroscopy and crystalline phase information in differential scanning *** aluminium hydroxide(ATH)filled silicone rubber as an example,it is found that the rigid amorphous fraction(RAF)corresponding to the chains constrained by crystals(RAF_(cry))is not linearly increased with crystalline fraction(CF).Compared to non-isothermal crystallisation,RAF caused by ATH/silicone rubber interface(RAF_(int))after isothermal crystallisation at 213 K changes little,while mobile amorphous fraction and RAFcry is attenuated and CF is *** on the calculated structures of ATH filled silicone rubber,activation energy of conductivities during cooling is dominated by the thermal transition for conductive ions and shortened distance among the conductive ions through shrunk volumes of the amorphous *** findings deepen the understanding of multiphase content in semi-crystalline polymer composites and its relationship with electrical conductivity,which can be applied in manipulating electrical performance of semi-crystalline polymers by fillers.
