Anode materials are an essential part of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),which determine the performance and safety of LIBs.Currently,graphite,as the anode material of commercial LIBs,is limited by its low theoretical capacity of 372 mA·h·g^(−1),thus hindering further development toward high-capacity and large-scale applications.Alkaline earth metal iron-based oxides are considered a promising candidate to replace graphite because of their low preparation cost,good thermal stability,superior stability,and high electrochemical performance.Nonetheless,many issues and challenges remain to be addressed.Herein,we systematically summarize the research progress of alkaline earth metal iron-based oxides as LIB anodes.Meanwhile,the material and structural properties,synthesis methods,electrochemical reaction mechanisms,and improvement strategies are introduced.Finally,existing challenges and future research directions are discussed to accelerate their practical application in commercial LIBs.

Enhanced energy density and fast-charging ability via directional particle configuration

The limited energy density of lithium-ion capacitors poses a significant obstacle to their widespread application,primarily stemming from the inability of the electrodes to simultaneously fulfill both high energy density and rapid charging requirements.Experimental data demonstrate that a directional particle configuration can enhance charging speed while maintaining high-capacity density,but it is rarely discussed.Here,we have developed a particle-level electrochemical model capable of reconstructing an electrode with a directional particle configuration.By employing this method,an investigation was conducted to explore how the spatial morphology characteristics of particle configuration impact the energy storage characteristics of electrodes.Results demonstrate that rational particle configuration can effectively enhance the transport of lithium ions and create additional space for lithium-ion storage.With the same particle size distribution,the best electrode can increase the discharge capacity by up to132.4% and increase the charging SOC by 11.3% compared to the ordinary electrode under the condition of 6 C.These findings provide a further understanding of the energy storage mechanism inside the anisotropic particle distribution electrode,which is important for developing high-performance lithium-ion capacitors.

DG Hosting Capacity Assessment Considering Dependence Among Wind Speed,Solar Radiation,and Load Demands

Dependence of distributed generation(DG)outputs and load plays an essential role in renewable energy accommodation.This paper presents a novel DG hosting capacity(DGHC)evaluation method for distribution networks considering highdimensional dependence relations among solar radiation,wind speed,and various load types(i.e.,commercial,residential,and industrial).First,an advanced dependence modeling method called regular vine(R-vine)is applied to capture the complex dependence structure of solar radiation,wind speed,commercial loads,industrial loads,and residential loads.Then,a chanceconstrained DGHC evaluation model is employed to figure out maximum hosting capacity of each DG and its optimal allocation plan with different operational risks.Finally,a Benders decomposition algorithm is also employed to reduce computational burden.The proposed approaches are validated using a set of historical data from China.Results show dependence among different DGs and loads has significant impact on hosting capacity.Results also suggest using the R-vine model to capture dependence among distributed energy resources(DERs)and load.This finding provides useful advice for distribution networks in installing renewable energy generations.

Primary liver cancer,which is mainly composed of hepatocellular carcinoma(HcC),is the sixth most common type of cancer worldwide and the thirdmost common cause of cancer mortality.1 The total number of mutations present in tumor specimens is called tumor mutation burden(TMB)and it is an emerging biomarker of immunotherapy response.2 TMB can predict clinical responses to immunotherapy such as ICl(immune checkpoint inhibitor)treatments and higher TMB is related to better survival.3 TP53,a gene encoding a tumor suppressor protein that triggers apoptosis and cell cycle arrest,is one of the most prevalent mutations in 25%-30%of HCC patients.4 Research shows that TP53 mutations in HCC patients are associated with advanced tumor grade and poor prognosis.5 To identify the TP53 mutation-related genes which can predict HCC patients'prognosis and explore the immune cell infiltration,we constructed a risk model based on six TP53 mutation-related genes which can accurately predict patients'prognosis.Besides,six immune cells with a similar expression pattern were identified in The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)and International Cancer Genome Consortium(ICGC)databases.

Hydrogen peroxide (H_(2)O_(2)) is a valuable chemical for a wide variety of applications. The environmentally friendly production route of the electrochemical reduction of O_(2)to H_(2)O_(2) has become an attractive alternative to the traditional anthraquinone process. The efficiency of electrosynthesis process depends considerably on the availability of cost-effective catalysts with high selectivity, activity, and stability.Currently, there are many outstanding issues in the preparation of highly selective catalysts, the exploration of the interface electrolysis environment, and the construction of electrolysis devices, which have led to extensive research efforts. Distinct from the existing few comprehensive review articles on H_(2)O_(2) production by two-electron oxygen reduction, the present review first explains the principle of the oxygen reduction reaction and then highlights recent advances in the regulation and control strategies of different types of catalysts. Key factors of electrode structure and device design are discussed. In addition,we highlight the promising co-production combination of this system with renewable energy or energy storage systems. This review can help introduce the potential of oxygen reduction electrochemical production of high-flux H_(2)O_(2) to the commercial market.

Double-Layer-Optimizing Method of Hybrid Energy Storage Microgrid Based on Improved Grey Wolf Optimization

To reduce the comprehensive costs of the construction and operation of microgrids and to minimize the power fluctuations caused by randomness and intermittency in distributed generation,a double-layer optimizing configuration method of hybrid energy storage microgrid based on improved grey wolf optimization(IGWO)is proposed.Firstly,building a microgrid system containing a wind-solar power station and electric-hydrogen coupling hybrid energy storage system.Secondly,the minimum comprehensive cost of the construction and operation of the microgrid is taken as the outer objective function,and the minimum peak-to-valley of the microgrid’s daily output is taken as the inner objective function.By iterating through the outer and inner layers,the system improves operational stability while achieving economic configuration.Then,using the energy-self-smoothness of the microgrid as the evaluation index,a double-layer optimizing configuration method of the microgrid is constructed.Finally,to improve the disadvantages of grey wolf optimization(GWO),such as slow convergence in the later period and easy falling into local optima,by introducing the convergence factor nonlinear adjustment strategy and Cauchy mutation operator,an IGWO with excellent global performance is proposed.After testing with the typical test functions,the superiority of IGWO is verified.Next,using IGWO to solve the double-layer model.The case analysis shows that compared to GWO and particle swarm optimization(PSO),the IGWO reduced the comprehensive cost by 15.6%and 18.8%,respectively.Therefore,the proposed double-layer optimizationmethod of capacity configuration ofmicrogrid with wind-solar-hybrid energy storage based on IGWO could effectively improve the independence and stability of the microgrid and significantly reduce the comprehensive cost.

General anesthetic agents induce neurotoxicity through astrocytes

Neuroscientists have recognized the importance of astrocytes in regulating neurological function and their influence on the release of glial transmitters. Few studies, however, have focused on the effects of general anesthetic agents on neuroglia or astrocytes. Astrocytes can also be an important target of general anesthetic agents as they exert not only sedative, analgesic, and amnesic effects but also mediate general anesthetic-induced neurotoxicity and postoperative cognitive dysfunction. Here, we analyzed recent advances in understanding the mechanism of general anesthetic agents on astrocytes, and found that exposure to general anesthetic agents will destroy the morphology and proliferation of astrocytes, in addition to acting on the receptors on their surface, which not only affect Ca2+signaling, inhibit the release of brain-derived neurotrophic factor and lactate from astrocytes, but are even involved in the regulation of the pro-and anti-inflammatory processes of astrocytes. These would obviously affect the communication between astrocytes as well as between astrocytes and neighboring neurons, other neuroglia, and vascular cells. In this review, we summarize how general anesthetic agents act on neurons via astrocytes, and explore potential mechanisms of action of general anesthetic agents on the nervous system. We hope that this review will provide a new direction for mitigating the neurotoxicity of general anesthetic agents.

A breathable, designable and flexible leather–heater used in wearable thermotherapy

Flexible heaters with personal thermal management capabilities have great potential in thermal therapy applications due to their excellent flexibility, low power consumption, and portability. However, manufacturing wearable heating devices that are breathable, wear resistant and conformal for long-term use is still challenging. To address these issues, we designed a leather heater using breathable, biocompatible, and tailorable leather as the substrate through a simple in-situ polymerization polypyrrole strategy. This heater exhibits excellent heating and mechanical properties（reaching 64°C at a voltage of 5 V with efficient Joule heat generation of 2286 W/m2and uniform temperature distribution, and functioning properly after 1000 cycles of bendability tests）. In addition, this heater displays better wear resistance and water vapor permeability rate(38.04 g/（m2h）). The cuttable and sewable of leather gives the strategy ability to be flexibly designed to mold the heater to the specific requirements of different body parts, providing a new approach to wearable thermal therapy.

Heterointerface engineering in hierarchical assembly of the Co/Co(OH)_(2)@carbon nanosheets composites for wideband microwave absorption

Heterogeneous interface engineering strategy is an effective method to optimize electromagnetic functional materials.However,the mechanism of heterogeneous interfaces on microwave absorption is still unclear.In this study,abundant heterointerfaces were customized in hierarchical structures via a collaborative strategy of lyophilization and hard templates.The impressive electromagnetic heterostructures and strong interfacial polarization were realized on the zero-dimensional(0D)hexagonal close-packed(hcp)-face-centered cubic(fcc)Co/two-dimensional(2D)Co(OH)_(2)nanosheets@three-dimensional(3D)porous carbon nanosheets(Co/Co(OH)_(2)@PCN).By controlling the carbonization temperature,the electromagnetic parameters were further adjusted to broaden the effective absorption bandwidth(EAB).Accordingly,the EAB of these absorbers were almost greater than 6 GHz(covering the entire Ku-band)in the thickness range of 2.0–2.2 mm except the sample S-1.0-800.As far as to the S-0.8-700 achieved an EAB up to 7.1 GHz at 2.2 mm and the minimum reflection loss(RLmin)value was−25.8 dB.Moreover,in the far-field condition,the radar cross section(RCS)of S-0.8-700 can be reduced to 19.6 dB·m^(2).We believe that this work will stimulate interest in interface engineering and provide a direction for achieving efficient absorbing materials.

Controllable heterogeneous interfaces and dielectric regulation of hollow raspberry-shaped Fe_(3)O_(4)@rGO hybrids for high-performance electromagnetic wave absorption

Heterogeneous interface engineering is closely related to the structural design of electromagnetic absorbers;thus,the interface control through structural design is a considerable approach to optimize the electromagnetic wave absorption(EWA)performance.Herein,the 3D hierarchical structure composites composed of two-dimensional reduced graphite oxide(rGO)and hollow raspberry Fe_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles was successfully fabricated by a simple pyrolysis and self-assembly process.This specific structure enriches the characteristics of interface polarization and dipole polarization,which further induces significant EWA behavior.By adjusting the amount of graphite oxide(GO),the complex dielectric constant of the obtained hybrids can be controlled,and the heterointerface can be cleverly adjusted.The minimum reflection loss(RLmin)of the typical products can be up to−73.86 dB at the thickness is only 1.35 mm,and the maximum effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)can reach 5.1 GHz.This work demonstrates that the unique structure and tunable components can fully improve the potential of electromagnetic absorption performance,which provides basic guidance for the heterogeneous interface engineering of efficient electromagnetic functional materials.
