Artificial intelligence optimization and controllable slow-release iron sulfide realizes efficient separation of copper and arsenic in strongly acidic wastewater

Iron sulfide(FeS)is a promising material for separating copper and arsenic from strongly acidic wastewater due to its S^(2-)slow-release effect.However,uncertainties arise because of the constant changes in wastewater composition,affecting the selection of operating parameters and FeS types.In this study,the aging method was first used to prepare various controllable FeS nanoparticles to weaken the arsenic removal ability without affecting the copper removal.Orthogonal experiments were conducted,and the results identified the Cu/As ratio,H_(2)SO_(4) concentration,and FeS dosage as the three main factors influencing the separation efficiency.The backpropagation artificial neural network(BP-ANN)model was established to determine the relationship between the influencing factors and the separation efficiency.The correlation coefficient(R)of overall model was 0.9923 after optimizing using genetic algorithm(GA).The BP-GA model was also solved using GA under specific constraints,predicting the best solution for the separation process in real-time.The predicted results show that the high temperature and long aging time of FeS were necessary to gain high separation efficiency,and the maximum separation factor can reached 1,400.This study provides a suitable sulfurizing material and a set of methods and models with robust flexibility that can successfully predict the separation efficiency of copper and arsenic from highly acidic environments.

Exploring a balance between strength and ductility of hexagonal BN nanoplatelet reinforced ZK61 magnesium composite

The practical applications of magnesium（Mg） alloys are usually beset by their relatively low strength and limited ductility. Herein we attempt to fabricate hexagonal BN nanoplatelet（BNNP） reinforced ZK61 magnesium composites using a combination of spark plasma sintering and friction stir processing. The resulting composites exhibit microstructural characteristics of homogeneous dispersion of BNNP in Mg matrix with refined equiaxed grains and（0002） basal texture roughly surrounding the pin column surface. Transmission electron microscopy observation illustrates that trace amounts of Mg3N2and MgB2form at BNNP-Mg interface, in which Mg3N2locates at the basal plane of a BNNP and MgB2grows at its open edge. The spatial distribution of Mg3N2and MgB2facilitates interfacial wetting and stronger BNNP-Mg interface in such a way that interfacial products act as anchors bonding between them. In comparison with monolithic ZK61 alloy,the BNNP/ZK61 composites display simultaneous improvements in yield strength, hardness and ductility, achieving good strength-ductility balance. This research is expected to shed some light on BNNP potentials for designing and producing magnesium composites with high strength and good ductility.

Suppression of multistep phase transitions of O3-type cathode for sodium-ion batteries

O3-type layered oxide cathodes have been widely investigated due to their high reversible capacities and sufficient Na+reservoirs.However,such materials usually suffer from complex multistep phase transitions along with drastic volume changes,leading to the unsatisfied cycle performance.Herein,we report a Mg/Ti co-doped O3-type NaNi_(0.5)Mn_(0.5)O_(2),which can effectively suppress the complex multistep phase transition and realize a solid-solution reaction within a wide voltage range.It is confirmed that,the Mg/Ti co-doping is beneficial to enhance the structural stability and integrity by absorbing micro-strain and distortions.Thus,the as obtained sample delivers an outstanding cyclic performance(82.3%after 200 cycles at 1 C)in the voltage range of 2.0-4.0 V,and a high discharge capacity of 86.6 mAh/g after 100 cycles within the wide voltage range(2.0-4.5 V),which outperform the existing literatures.This co-doping strategy offers new insights into high performance O3-type cathode for sodium ion batteries.

Impact of three different processing methods on the digestibility and allergenicity of Chinese mitten crab(Eriocheir sinensis)tropomyosin

The tropomyosin(TM)fractions of crab protems may cause allergic reactions in mdividuals susceptible to allergies;however,efficient and safe methods by which to reduce such allergenicity are not currently available.Therefore,in this study,the effects of three different processing methods,i.e.,microwave,ultrasound,and high temperature-pressure(HTP)treatments,on the digestion stability of TM from Chinese mitten crab muscle and the allergenicity of TM digestion products were explored.sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis analysis showed that microwaving had little effect on the digestion stability of TM.In contrast,ultrasound and HTP treatments facilitated the degradation of TM.Similarly,Western blotting and inhibition ELISA indicated that the IgE-binding activity of TM was significantly reduced after treatment with ultrasound or HTP.Among the three different proces sing methods,HTP was the most effective method for improving digestibility of TM and reducing immunoreactivity.This finding provides new insights into treatments for crab allergies.

Construction of Cu-Zn Co-doped layered materials for sodium-ion batteries with high cycle stability

Due to its high operational voltage and energy density,P2-type Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.3)Mn_(0.7)O_(2) has become a leading cathode material for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs),which is an ideal option for large-scale energy storage.However,the practical application of P2-type Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.3)Mn_(0.7)O_(2) is limited by the capacity constraints and unwanted phase transitions,presenting significant challenges to the widespread application of SIBs.To address these challenges and optimize the electrochemical properties of the P2 phase cathode material,this study proposes a Cu and Zn co-doped strategy to improve the electrochemical performance.The incorporation of Cu/Zn can stabilize the P2-phase structure against P2-O2 phase transitions,thus enhancing its electrochemical properties.The as-obtained P2-type Na0.67[Ni_(0.3)Mn_(0.58)Cu_(0.09)Zn_(0.03)]O_(2) cathode material shows an impressive cycling stability,maintaining 80%capacity retention after 1000 cycles at 2 C.The cyclic voltammetry(CV)tests show that the Cu^(2+)/Cu^(3+)redox reaction is also involved in charge compensation during the charge/discharge process.

There is an increasingly urgent need to develop cost-effective electrocatalysts with high catalytic activity and stability as alternatives to the traditional Pt/C in catalysts in water electrolysis.In this study,microspheres composed of Mo-doped NiCoP nanoneedles supported on nickel foam were prepared to address this challenge.The results show that the nanoneedles provide sufficient active sites for efficient electron transfer;the small-sized effect and the micro-scale roughness enhance the entry of reactants and the release of hydrogen bubbles;the Mo doping effectively improves the electrocatalytic performance of NiCoP in alkaline media.The catalyst exhibits low hydrogen evolution overpotentials of 38.5 and 217.5 mV at a current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2) and high current density of 500 mA·cm^(-2),respectively,and only 1.978 V is required to achieve a current density of 1000 mA·cm^(-2) for overall water splitting.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations show that the improved hydrogen evolution performance can be explained as a result of the Mo doping,which serves to reduce the interaction between NiCoP and intermediates,optimize the Gibbs free energy of hydrogen adsorption(△G_(*H)),and accelerate the desorption rate of *OH.This study provides a promising solution to the ongoing challenge of designing efficient electrocatalysts for high-current-density hydrogen production.

Effects of different doses of glucose and fructose on central metabolic pathways and intercellular wireless communication networks in humans

Fructose and glucose are often widely used in food processing and may contribute to many metabolic diseases.To observe the effects of different doses of glucose and fructose on human metabolism and cellular communication,volunteers were given low,medium,and high doses of glucose and fructose.Serum cytokines,glucose,lactate,nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH)and metabolic enzymes were assayed,and central carbon metabolic pathway networks and cytokine communication networks were constructed.The results showed that the glucose and fructose groups basically maintained the trend of decreasing catabolism and increasing anabolism with increasing dose.Compared with glucose,low-dose fructose decreased catabolism and increased anabolism,significantly enhanced the expression of the inflammatory cytokine interferon-γ(IFN-γ),macrophage-derived chemokine(MDC),induced protein-10(IP-10),and eotaxin,and significantly reduced the activity of isocitrate dehydrogenase(ICDH)and pyruvate dehydrogenase complexes(PDHC).Both medium and high doses of fructose increase catabolism and anabolism,and there are more cytokines and enzymes with significant changes.Furthermore,multiple cytokines and enzymes show strong relevance to metabolic regulation by altering the transcription and expression of enzymes in central carbon metabolic pathways.Therefore,excessive intake of fructose should be reduced to avoid excessive inflammatory responses,allergic reactions and autoimmune diseases.

Generalized Isospectral-Nonisospectral Modified Korteweg-de Vries Integrable Hierarchies and Related Properties

In this article, a new technique for deriving integrable hierarchy is discussed, i.e., such that are derived by combining the Tu scheme with the vector product. Several classes of spectral problems are introduced by threedimensional loop algebra and six-dimensional loop algebra whose commutators are vector product, and the six-dimensional loop algebra is derived from the enlargement of the three-dimensional loop algebra. It is important that we make use of the variational method to create a new vector-product trace identity for which the Hamiltonian structure of the isospectral integrable hierarchy is worked out. The derived integrable hierarchies are reduced to the modified Korteweg-de Vries(mKdV) equation, generalized coupled mKdV integrable system and nonisospectral mKdV equation under specific parameter selection. Starting from a 3×3 matrix spectral problem, we subsequently construct an explicit N-fold Darboux transformation for integrable system(2.8) with the help of a gauge transformation of the corresponding spectral problem. At the same time, the determining equations of nonclassical symmetries associated with mKdV equation are presented in this paper. It follows that we investigate the coverings and the nonlocal symmetries of the nonisospectral mKdV equation by applying the classical Frobenius theorem and the coordinates of a infinitely-dimensional manifold in the form of Cartesian product.
