Clean and efﬁcient recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)has become an urgent need to promote sustainable and rapid development of human ***,we provide a critical and comprehensive overview of the various technologies for recycling spent LIBs,starting with lithium-ion power *** research on raw material collection,metallurgical recovery,separation and puriﬁcation is highlighted,particularly in terms of all aspects of economic efﬁciency,energy consumption,technology transformation and policy *** and pathways for transformative full-component recovery of spent LIBs are explored,revealing a clean and efﬁcient closed-loop recovery *** methods are proposed for future recycling technologies,with a focus on how future research directions can be ***,based on life-cycle assessment,the challenges of future recycling are revealed from the LIBs supply chain and stability of the supply chain of the new energy battery industry to provide an outlook on clean and efﬁcient short process recycling *** work is designed to support the sustainable development of the new energy power industry,to help meet the needs of global decarbonization strategies and to respond to the major needs of industrialized recycling.

Co_(3)O_(4) is considered as one of promising cathode catalysts for lithium oxygen(Li-O_(2))batteries,which contains both tetrahedral Co^(2+)sites(Co^(2+)Td)and octahedral Co^(3+)sites(Co^(3+)Oh).It is important to reveal the effect of optimal geometric configuration and oxidation state of cobalt ion in Co_(3)O_(4) to improve the performance of Li-O_(2) ***,through regulating the synthesis process,Co^(2+)and Co^(3+)sites in Co_(3)O_(4) were replaced with Zn and Al atoms to form materials with a unique Co *** Li-O_(2) batteries based on ZnCo_(2)O_(4) showed longer cycle life than that of CoAl_(2)O_(4),suggesting that in Co_(3)O_(4),the Co^(3+)Oh site is a relatively better geometric configuration than Co^(2+)Td site for Li-O_(2) *** calculations revealed that Co^(3+)Oh sites provide higher catalysis activity,regulating the adsorption energy of the intermediate LiO_(2) and accelerating the kinetics of the reaction in batteries,which further leads to the change of the morphology of the discharge product and ultimately improves the electrochemical performance of the batteries.

The rational design of efficient bimetallic nanoparticle(NP)catalysts is challenging due to the lack of theoretical understanding of active components and insights into the mechanisms of a specific ***,we report the rational design of nanoreactors comprising hollow carbon sphere-confined PtNi bimetallic NPs(PtNi@HCS)as highly efficient catalysts for hydrogen generation via ammonia borane hydrolysis in *** both density functional theory calculations and molecular dynamics simulations,the effects of an active PtNi combination and the critical synergistic role of a hollow carbon shell on the molecule diffusion adsorption behaviors are *** isotope effects and theoretical calculations allow the clarification of the mechanism,with oxidative addition of an O-H bond of water to the catalyst surface being the rate-determining *** remarkable catalytic activity of the PtNi@HCS nanoreactor was also utilized for successful tandem catalytic hydrogenation reactions,using in situ-generated H_(2) from ammonia borane with high *** concerted design,theoretical calculations,and experimental work presented here shed light on the rational elaboration of efficient nanocatalysts and contribute to the establishment of a circular carbon economy using green hydrogen.

Large-scale toppling slope under water level fluctuation of reservoir:A case of Yunnan Province,China

Landslides induced by reservoir inundation are common in Southwest China,negatively influencing hydropower *** hydropower station dam was constructed in the upper reaches of the Lancang River,accordingly causing the water level at the Lajinshengu slope to increase by 30 m.A tension crack with a visible depth of 8 m was observed in the upper sector of the Lajinshengu slope after reservoir impoundment for 170 *** the following days,numerous cracks appeared on the surface of the slope,and the maximum displacement of the slope reached 3.22 ***,a large-scale active deformation body within the Lajinshengu slope formed with an area of 2.62×10^(5)m^(2)and a volume of 1.65×10^(7)m^(3).Detailed field investigations,on-site monitoring,and centrifugal model tests were carried out to analyze the surface features,deformation characteristics,and failure mechanism of the Lajinshengu *** results show that the slope is an ancient landslide,divided into two parts(*** A and zone B)by the *** B is a traction landslide caused by the displacement of zone *** longterm inundation weakens the soft rock at the slope foot,intensifying the toppling of bedrock and consequently triggering the sliding of the overburden in zone *** failure mode of the Lajinshengu slope is a typical case of toppling-sliding failure,and the underlying rock toppling drives the overlying *** addition,early identification methods for toppling deformation covered by overburdened soil were proposed based on monitoring data and deformation signs.

Cyanobacteria-based activated carbon(CBAC)was successfully prepared by pyrolysis-activation of Taihu *** the impregnation ratio and activated temperature were 2 and 800-C,respectively,the optimal CBACs possessed an ultra-high specific surface(2178.90 m^(2)·g^(-1))and plenty of micro-and meso-pores,as well as a high pore volume(1.01 cm^(3)·g^(-1)).Ascribed to ultra-high surface area,π-π interaction,electrostatic interaction,as well as hydrogen-bonding interactions,the CBACs displayed huge superiority in efficient dye *** saturated methylene blue adsorption capacity by CBACs could be as high as 1143.4 mg·g^(-1),superior to that of other reported biomass-activated *** adsorption was endothermic and modeled well by the pseudo-second-order kinetic,intra-particle diffusion,and Langmuir *** work presented the effectiveness of Taihu cyanobacteria adsorbent ascribed to its super large specific surface area and high adsorption ability.

The role of NF-κB and the NLRP3 inflammasome in the chronic inflammatory microenvironment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)has been posited as *** Yanggan Jiangmei Formula(YGJMF)has shown promise in ameliorating hepatic steatosis in NASH patients,yet its pharmacological mechanisms remain largely *** study was conducted to investigate the efficacy of YGJMF in NASH and to elucidate its pharmacological *** simulate NASH both in vivo and in vitro,high-fat-diet(HFD)rats and HepG2 cells stimulated with free fatty acids(FFAs)were *** severity of liver injury and lipid deposition was assessed using serum indicators,histopathological staining,micro-magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),and the liver-tomuscle signal intensity ratio(SIRL/M).Furthermore,a combination of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),immunohistochemistry(IHC),immunofluorescence,real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR),and Western blotting analyses was employed to investigate the NF-κB/NLRP3 signaling pathway and associated cytokine *** results from liver pathology,MRI assessments,and biochemical tests in rat models demonstrated YGJMF’s significant effectiveness in reducing liver damage and lipid ***,YGJMF markedly reduced hepatocyte inflammation by downregulating inflammatory cytokines in both liver tissue and ***,YGJMF was found to disrupt NF-κB activation,consequently inhibiting the assembly of the NLRP3 inflammasome in both the in vitro and in vivo *** preliminary findings of this study suggest that YGJMF may alleviate hepatic steatosis and inhibit the NF-κB/NLRP3 signaling pathway,thereby exerting anti-inflammatory effects in NASH.

Investigation of the block toppling evolution of a layered model slope by centrifuge test and discrete element modeling

Primary toppling usually occurs in layered rock slopes with large anti-dip *** this paper,the block toppling evolution was explored using a large-scale centrifuge *** block column in the layered model slope was made of cement *** artificial cracks perpendicular to the block column were *** gages,displacement gages,and high-speed camera measurements were employed to monitor the deformation and failure processes of the model *** centrifuge test results show that the block toppling evolution can be divided into seven stages,*** compression,formation of major tensile crack,reverse bending of the block column,closure of major tensile crack,strong bending of the block column,formation of failure zone,and complete *** toppling is characterized by sudden large deformation and occurs in *** wedge-shaped cracks in the model incline towards the *** observations show that block toppling is mainly caused by bending failure rather than by shear *** tensile strength also plays a key factor in the evolution of block *** simulation results from discrete element method(DEM)is in line with the testing *** stress exists at the backside of rock column during toppling *** concentration results in the fragmented rock column and its degree is the most significant at the slope toe.

We explore the structural evolutions of stoichiometric LiMO_(2)using the first-principles calculations combined with the cluster expansion *** automatically obtain the ground state structures of the stoichiometric LiMO_(2)by just considering the cation orderings in the quasi rock-salt structures and the following structural relaxations due to both the atomic size mismatches and the Jahn–Teller *** point out that,on the one hand,the cation orderings are mainly determined by the nearest,the second nearest,and the third nearest cation interactions and can be obtained from the‘phase diagram’we have built using the relative strengths of effective cluster interaction(ECI).On the other hand,the structural relaxations are dominated by the crystal field splitting(CFS)energies,i.e.,structures with larger CFS energies are more *** calculating the ECIs and CFS energies for various structures of LiMO_(2),we clearly show how ECI and CFS play roles in determining the structural evolution mechanism of these systems.
