Prolonging the lifetime of batteries is a long-term pursuit,and it is also one of the prerequisites for the practical application of ***,this endeavor is challenging for high-energy Li–O_(2)batteries due to their poor charge efficiency and cathode passivation-induced by-products ***,we demonstrated that overcharging Li–O_(2)batteries could facilitate the decomposition of accumulated residue products and revive the cathode;thus,the battery lifespan could be significantly *** long battery lifetime not only made full use of the Li anode but also enabled the battery to recycle in a safer way without the risk of firing and ***,overcharge could be used in Li–O_(2)batteries with high mass loading,high rate,and large *** overcharge strategy simplified the cathode regenerating procedures and realized system-level efficient use of battery components,thereby prolonging the life of Li–O_(2)batteries to meet the requirements of practical applications.

DNA methylation is one important epigenetic type to play a vital role in many diseases including *** the development of the high-throughput sequencing technology,there is much progress to disclose the relations of DNA methylation with ***,the analyses of DNA methylation data are challenging due to the missing values caused by the limitations of current *** many methods have been developed to impute the missing values,these methods are mostly based on the correlations between individual samples,and thus are limited for the abnormal samples in *** this study,we present a novel transfer learning based neural network to impute missing DNA methylation data,namely the TDimpute-DNAmeth *** method learns common relations between DNA methylation from pan-cancer samples,and then fine-tunes the learned relations over each specific cancer type for imputing the missing *** on 16 cancer datasets,our method was shown to outperform other commonly-used *** analyses indicated that DNA methylation is related to cancer survival and thus can be used as a biomarker of cancer prognosis.

The increasing demand for high-energy storage systems has propelled the development of Li-air batteries and Li-O_(2)/CO_(2)batteries to elucidate the mechanism and extend battery ***,the high charge voltage of Li2CO3 accelerates the decomposition of traditional sulfone and ether electrolytes,thus adopting high-voltage electrolytes in Li-O_(2)/CO_(2)batteries is vital to achieve a stable battery ***,we adopt a commercial carbonate electrolyte to prove its excellent suitability in Li-O_(2)/CO_(2)*** generated superoxide can be captured by CO_(2)to form less aggressive intermediates,stabilizing the carbonate electrolyte without reactive oxygen species induced *** addition,this electrolyte permits the Li metal plating/stripping with a significantly improved reversibility,enabling the possibility of using ultra-thin Li *** from the good rechargeability of Li2CO3,less cathode passivation,and stabilized Li anode in carbonate electrolyte,the Li-O_(2)/CO_(2)battery demonstrates a long cycling lifetime of 167 cycles at 0.1 mA·cm^(-2)and 0.25 mAh·cm^(-2).This work paves a new avenue for optimizing carbonate-based electrolytes for Li-O_(2)and Li-O_(2)/CO_(2)batteries.

Mechanisms and Efficacy of Chinese Herbal Medicines in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

Benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) is one of the most common diseases in elderly men, the incidence of which gradually increases with age and leads to lower urinary tract symptoms(LUTS), which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. Chinese herbal medicines(CHMs) are widely used for the treatment of BPH in China and some other countries. To explore the molecular mechanisms of CHMs for BPH, we conducted a review based on peer-reviewed English-language publications in Pub Med and Web of Science databases from inception to December 31, 2023. This article primarily reviewed 32 papers on the use of CHMs and its active compounds in the treatment of BPH, covering animal and cell experiments, and identified relevant mechanisms of action. The results suggest that the mechanisms of action of CHMs in treating BPH may involve the regulation of sex hormones,downregulation of cell growth factors, anti-inflammatory and antioxidative effects, inhibition of cell proliferation, and promotion of apoptosis. CHMs also exhibit α-blocker-like effects, with the potential to relax urethral smooth muscle and alleviate LUTS. Additionally, we also reviewed 4 clinical trials and meta-analyses of CHMs for the treatment of BPH patients, which provided initial evidence of the safety and effectiveness of CHMs treatment. CHMs treatment for BPH shows advantages as a multi-component, multi-target, and multi-pathway therapy, which can mitigate the severity of the disease, improve LUTS, and may become a reliable treatment option in the future.

This paper highlights the utilization of parallel control and adaptive dynamic programming(ADP) for event-triggered robust parallel optimal consensus control(ETRPOC) of uncertain nonlinear continuous-time multiagent systems(MASs).First, the parallel control system, which consists of a virtual control variable and a specific auxiliary variable obtained from the coupled Hamiltonian, allows general systems to be transformed into affine systems. Of interest is the fact that the parallel control technique's introduction provides an unprecedented perspective on eliminating the negative effects of disturbance. Then, an eventtriggered mechanism is adopted to save communication resources while ensuring the system's stability. The coupled HamiltonJacobi(HJ) equation's solution is approximated using a critic neural network(NN), whose weights are updated in response to events. Furthermore, theoretical analysis reveals that the weight estimation error is uniformly ultimately bounded(UUB). Finally,numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed ETRPOC method.

Deep coal-energy mining frequently results in microseismic(MS)events,which may be a precursor to the risk of rockbursts and pose risks to human safety and ***,quantitatively predicting the time,energy,and location(TEL)of future MS events is crucial for understanding and preventing potential catastrophic *** this study,we introduced the application of spatiotemporal graph convolutional networks(STGCN)to predict the TEL of MS events induced by deep coal-energy ***,this was the first application of graph convolution networks(GCNs)in the spatiotemporal prediction of MS *** adjacency matrices of the sensor networks were determined based on the distance between MS sensors,the sensor network graphs we constructed,and GCN was employed to extract the spatiotemporal details of the *** model is simple and *** testing the model with on-site MS monitoring data,our results demonstrated promising efficacy in predicting the TEL of MS events,with the cosine similarity(C)above 0.90 and the mean relative error(MRE)below *** is critical to improving the safety and operational efficiency of deep coal-energy mining.

Mercury(Hg)pollution has been a global concern in recent decades,posing a significant threat to entire ecosystems and human health due to its cumulative toxicity,persistence,and transport in the *** intense interaction between mercury and selenium has opened up a new field for studying mercury removal from industrial flue gas *** the advantages of good Hg0 capture performance and lowsecondary pollution of the mineral selenium compounds,the most noteworthy is the relatively low regeneration temperature,allowing adsorbent regeneration with low energy consumption,thus reducing the utilization cost and enabling recovery of mercury *** paper reviews the recent progress of mineral selenium compounds in flue gas mercury removal,introduces in detail the different types ofmineral selenium compounds studied in the field ofmercury removal,reviews the adsorption performance of various mineral selenium compounds adsorbents on mercury and the influence of flue gas components,such as reaction temperature,air velocity,and other factors,and summarizes the adsorption mechanism of different fugitive forms of selenium *** on the current research progress,future studies should focus on the economic performance and the performance of different carriers and sizes of adsorbents for the removal of Hg0 and the correlation between the gas-particle flow characteristics and gas phase mass transfer with the performance of Hg0 removal in practical industrial *** addition,it remains a challenge to distinguish the oxidation and adsorption of Hg0 quantitatively.

Association between four adipokines and insulin sensitivity in patients with obesity, type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus,and in the general Chinese population

Background Hyperinsulinemic euglycemic clamp is the gold standard to evaluate the insulin sensitity, but it is too complicated and expensive to use in *** tried to find an alternative indicator to reflect insulin *** evaluate the association between the four adipokines, adiponectin, leptin, resistin and tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α） with insulin sensitivity, we used a hyperinsulinemic euglycemic clamp to test insulin sensitivity in Chinese patients with obesity and type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus versus *** In this parallel control study, we tested insulin sensitivity using a hyperinsulinemic euglycemic clamp in different groups, then examined levels of adiponectin, leptin, resistin and TNF-α in serum, and the relationship between the different adipokines and glucose disposal rate （M value）, as well as insulin sensitivity index （M value/insulin, M/I）,which are the ＂gold standard＂ indices of insulin *** There were significant differences in mean leptin values in the four adipokines from the four different groups （P〈0.001; comparison of the variation between different groups was analyzed by variance analysis）.Compared to controls （using multiple comparison two-way Dunnett t test）, only the leptin level showed significant differences in the four adipokines from the four different groups at the same time （P 〈0.001）.The association analysis between the different adipokines and M or M/I values also showed that only leptin negatively correlated with M （r=-0.64, P 〈0.001） or M/I values （r=-0.56, P〈0.001）; there was no relationship between the other three adipokines and M or M/I *** Only leptin was associated with M or M/I ***, leptin might be one of the predictive factors of the degree of insulin resistance and risk of the accompanying disease.
