Generalized structural equation modeling:Symptom heterogeneity in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder leading to poor treatment efficacy

BACKGROUND Treatment efficacy for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)is reported to be poor,possibly due to heterogeneity of ADHD *** is known about poor treatment efficacy owing to ADHD *** To use generalized structural equation modeling(GSEM)to show how the heterogeneous nature of hyperactivity/impulsivity(H/I)symptoms in ADHD,irritable oppositional defiant disorder(ODD),and the presentation of aggression in children interferes with treatment responses in *** A total of 231 children and adolescents completed ADHD inattention and H/I *** scores from the Swanson,Nolan,and Pelham,version IV scale were *** child behavior checklist(CBCL)and parent’s satisfaction questionnaire were *** relationships were analyzed by *** GSEM revealed that the chance of ADHD remission was lower in children with a combination of H/I symptoms of ADHD,ODD symptoms,and childhood aggressive *** directly mediated ADHD symptom *** chance of reaching remission based on H/I symptoms of ADHD was reduced by 13.494%[=exp(2.602)]in children with comorbid ADHD and ODD[odds ratio(OR)=2.602,95%confidence interval(CI):1.832-3.373,P=0.000]after adjusting for the effects of other *** aggression mediated ODD symptom *** chance of reaching remission based on ODD symptoms was lowered by 11.000%[=1-exp(-0.117)]in children with more severe baseline symptoms of aggression based on the CBCL score at study entry[OR=-0.117,95%CI:(-0.190)-(-0.044),P=0.002].CONCLUSION Mediation through ODD symptoms and aggression may influence treatment effects in ADHD after adjusting for the effects of baseline ADHD symptom *** attention could be directed to the early recognition of risks leading to ineffective ADHD treatment,e.g.,symptoms of ODD and the presentation of aggressive or delinquent behaviors and thought problems in children with ADHD.

Efficient and simple synthesis of B_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)nanocomposites assisted by deep eutectic solvent for production of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural from glucose

The catalytic conversion of glucose to high valueadded platform chemical 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF)is a promising biorefinery process,and alumina-boria catalysts are considered to be green and mild solid acid catalysts for this catalytic ***,compared to the common synthesis methods with complicated steps,we reported a simple and efficient strategy to prepare B_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)nanocomposites by calcining cost-effective glucose-urea deep eutectic solvent(DES)solution containing the *** prepared B_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)nanocomposites exhibited an open three-dimensional skeleton and two-dimensional porous lamellar substructure,endowing them with a high specific surface area(228.27 m2/g).The introduction of boron changed the ratios of different aluminum species(AlⅣ,AlⅤ,and AlⅥ)and borate species(BO3 and BO4),thus further affecting the acidity and the types of acid sites of the *** prepared B_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)bifunctional acid catalysts possessing abundant Lewis acid sites and adjustable Brønsted acid sites showed complete glucose conversion and 55.38%of HMF yield under the optimum *** study proposed a concise method to synthesize alumina-boria solid acid catalysts assisted by glucose-urea *** hope to extend the application and prospect of this efficient and simple synthesis strategy.

A New Parameter Extraction Method for Schottky Barrier Diodes

A new parameter extraction method for Schottky barrier diodes is provided in this *** the current model of Schottky barrier diodes is a nonlinear self-consistent equation, the nonlinear inconsistent equations set is composed of nonlinear model equations under different biases. The problem of solving nonlinear inconsistent equations set is transformed into an optimization problem. The global optimal solution of the parameters is obtained by genetic algorithm. Comparing with experimental data, the results indicate that the error of the method proposed by this paper is lower than that of Cheung method.

Design and Analysis for a Three-Rotational-DOF Flight Simulator of Fighter-Aircraft

Most of researchers focused on traditional six degrees of freedom(DOF) Stewart flight simulator,which can not be adaptive in fighter?aircraft flight simulator. A three rotational DOF flight simulator of fighter?aircraft based on dou?ble parallel manipulator and hybrid structure is presented. The flight simulator is composed of two identical 3?RRS(revolute?revolute?spherical) spherical parallel manipulators and one cabin,called Twins. The cabin has an additional independent DOF for 360° continuous rotation,so it can be applied as a flight simulator for a fighter?aircraft to achieve spin maneuvering. Because of the introduction of the hybrid structure and double parallel manipulator of themechanism,the redundancy exists with respect to both kinematics and actuation. Kinematics is carried out and Jaco?bian matrix is established by means of screw theory. The inverse kinematics is given out by the analytical method. 64 groups inverse solutions are showed in a table by permutation. Forward kinematics is solved by an e ectively numeri?cal method. The forward numerical method is realized based on the analytically inverse kinematics and Jacobian matrix. The numerical examples show that the forward numerical method can be used in real?time control. The rollingmotion is considered in forward kinematics and a numerical example is given out. The proposed flight simulator can spin and there are three rotational DOF with a hybrid structure so that the novel flight simulator can be used in the field of the fighter?aircraft for pilots to train.

The incidence rate and mortality of liver fibrosis caused by various etiologies are high throughout the world. Liver fibrosis, the subsequent cirrhosis and other serious related complications threaten the health of patients and represent a serious medical burden;yet, there is still a lack of approved methods to prevent or reverse liver fibrosis. Therefore, effective hepatic antifibrotic drugs are urgently needed. The activation and proliferation of hepatic stellate cells are still the mechanisms of fibrosis that remain the focus of therapeutic research. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the development and applicability of antifibrosis drugs. In this review, we summarize the effectiveness and safety of available antifibrosis drugs utilizing different targets. In addition, some characteristics of antifibrosis drugs in phase II and III trials are introduced in detail.

We study the correlation statistics of phonon radiations in a weakly driven optomechanical *** dominated scattering processes are identified by the scattering theory analytically and the master equation numerically,whose interplay determines the phonon statistical *** results show that for the large detuning,the driving field off-resonant with the system induces a small emission rate of two anti-bunched *** the resonant driving field,there is a relatively large emission rate of two bunched phonons.

Mixing of two different electrolyte solutions in electromagnetic rectangular mixers

This study proposes a new electromagnetic rectangular mixer, and numerically examines the mixing characteristics of two different electrolyte solutions in the device under a uniform magnetic field. The mixer consists of a conduit with electrodes equipped on its top and bottom walls. The difference in the electric potentials applied to the sets of electrodes induces the current. The combination of the induced current and magnetic field yields Lorentz force, resulting in the fluid motion for pumping and mixing of the two different fluids. The numerical simulation is carried out with the use of commercial software CFX. The present numerical model is validated by an existing numerical work. The effect of different variables on mixing efficiency is investigated in many different cases with two different heights of the duct and various input voltages of the electrodes. The current simulation results indicate that the mixing performance can be enhanced by using multiple sets of electrodes and applying higher input voltages（absolute values） to the electrodes.

Physical-property cutoffs of tight reservoirs by field and laboratory experiments: a case study from chang 6, 8–9 in Ordos Basin

Tight sandstone reservoirs are generally characterized by complex reservoir quality,non-Darcy flow,and strong *** utilized for evaluating physical property cutoffs of conventional reservoirs maybe ***,a comprehensive investigation on physical property cutoffs of tight sandstone reservoirs is crucial for the reserve evaluation and successful *** this study,a set of evaluation approaches take advantage of field operations(i.e.,core drilling,oil testing,and wireline well logging data),and simulation experiments(i.e.,high-pressure mercury injection-capillary pressure(MICP)experiment,oil-water relative permeability experiment,nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)experiment,and biaxial pressure simulation experiment)were comparatively optimized to determine the physical property cutoffs of effective reservoirs in the Upper Triassic chang 6,chang 8 and chang 9 oil layers of the Zhenjing *** results show that the porosity cutoffs of the chang 6,chang 8,and chang 9 oil layers are 7.9%,6.4%,and 8.6%,and the corresponding permeability are 0.08 mD,0.05 mD,and 0.09 mD,*** with wireline well logging,mud logging,and oil testing,the cut-off of the thickness of single-layer effective reservoirs are approximately 3.0 m,3.0 m,and 2.0 m,*** on the cutoffs of critical properties,a superimposed map showing the planar distribution of the prospective targets can be mapped,which may delineate the effective boundary of prospective targets for petroleum exploration of tight sandstone reservoirs.
