Evaluation of Routed-Runoff from Land Surface Models and Reanalyses Using Observed Streamflow in Chinese River Basins

Previous studies have demonstrated that offline land surface models(LSMs)and global hydrological models(GHMs)can reasonably reproduce streamflow in large river *** reanalyses supply fine spatiotemporal runoff estimates,but they are not fully intercompared and evaluated in *** study assesses the routed-runoff from five offline LSM/GHM runs(VIC-CN05.1,CLM-CFSR,CLM-ERAI,CLM-MERRA,and CLM-NCEP)and three reanalysis datasets(ERAI/Land,JRA55,and MERRA-2)against the gauged streamflow(26 stations)in major Chinese river basins during 1980–*** Catchment-based Macro-scale Floodplain model(CaMa-Flood)is employed to route those runoff datasets to the hydrological *** statistical quantities,including the correlation coefficient(R),standard deviation(STD),Nash–Sutcliffe efficiency coefficient(NSE),and relative error(RE),along with a ranking method,are used to quantify the quality of those *** results show that the spatial patterns of both modeled and observed streamflow in summer are similar,but their magnitudes are *** for MERRA-2,the other products can reproduce well the interannual variability of streamflow in both the Yangtze and Yellow River *** products generally underestimate the magnitude and variance of monthly streamflow,while VIC-CN05.1 and JRA55 are closer to observations compared to other *** correlation coefficients for all products are overall larger than 0.61,with the highest value(0.85)from *** addition to CLM-MERRA,MERRA-2,and CLM-NCEP with relatively small precipitation,other products can simulate peak flow well with positive NSEs up to 0.41(ERAI/Land).Considerable uncertainties exist among the eight products at the Yellow River outlet,which might be because the LSMs ignore frequent human *** on the above statistics,performances of the eight runoff products are ranked in descending order as follows:VIC-CN05.1,ERAI/Land,JRA55,CLM-CFSR,CLM-ERAI,MERRA-2,CLM-MERRA,and CLM-NCE

Magnetization switching is one of the most fundamental topics in the field of *** learning(ML)models of random forest(RF),support vector machine(SVM),deep neural network(DNN)methods are built and trained to classify the magnetization reversal and non-reversal cases of single-domain particle,and the classification performances are evaluated by comparison with micromagnetic *** results show that the ML models have achieved great accuracy and the DNN model reaches the best area under curve(AUC)of 0.997,even with a small training dataset,and RF and SVM models have lower AUCs of 0.964 and 0.836,*** work validates the potential of ML applications in studies of magnetization switching and provides the benchmark for further ML studies in magnetization switching.

Soundscape of the West Lake Scenic Area with profound cultural background—a case study of Evening Bell Ringing in Jingci Temple,China

From the case study of Evening Bell Ringing at Nanping Hill,one of the West Lake Cultural Landscapes in Hangzhou,China,we investigated the soundscape of a scenic area with a profound cultural ***,we conducted the soundscape physical index of the area in both winter and spring seasons to analyze its objective graphical ***,we focused on people's reactions to the soundscape in order to obtain a subjective evaluation of each component in the soundscape and integrated ***,the relationship between the objective data and the subjective evaluation was ***,the impacts of the natural environment,history,and cultural factors on the evaluation of the Jingci Temple soundscape were *** was found that natural sounds,cultural sounds,and historic sounds were widely acclaimed in people's subjective feelings,which indicated the close relationships among historical and cultural background,soundscape,and natural ***,the conclusion was made that soundscape should be consistent with the local natural environment and the historical and cultural background.

Graphene/γ-AlOOH Hybrids as an Enhanced Sensing Platform for Ultrasensitive Stripping Voltammetric Detection of Pb（II）

The reduced graphene oxide（RGO）/γ-A1OOH hybrids with different γ-AlOOH contents were successfully prepared via a facile one-pot hydrothermal method. In these hybrids, RGO acts as a conductive linker for improving electron transport, and γ-AlOOH nanoplatelets help to adsorb the target metal ions on the electrode surface, thus faci- litating the electrochemical behavior of the hybrids. The sensitivity of as-prepared RGOγ-AlOOH hybrids toward Pb（II） was tested by square wave anodic stripping voltammograms（SWASV）and the mass ratio of graphene to γ-AlOOH was optimized to improve the sensing performance of RGOγ-AlOOH hybrids. Owing to the superior ab- sorbability of γ-AlOOH for heavy metal ions and excellent electrical conductivity of graphene, the detection limit of the hybrids for heavy metal ions was found to be as low as 1.5× 10^-11 mol/L with optimized γ-AlOOH content in the hybrids. The experimental conditions, such as pH value, mass of electrode material, and deposition time were also investigated and optimized. The as-prepared RGOγ-AlOOH hybrids demonstrate high electrochemical activity and good sensing performance, which offers an alternative platform for the electrochemical sensors.

Despite the high theoretical specific capacity,the main challenges of rechargeable lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries,including the unceasing shuttle of soluble lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)and severe Li corrosion,seriously hinder their commercial and practical ***,a bifunctional polyvinyl alcohol/poly(lithium acrylate)(C-PVA/PAA-Li)composite nanofiber separator is developed to address the main challenges in Li-S batteries by simultaneously allowing rapid lithium ion transport and ionic shielding of *** C-PVA/PAA-Li composite nanofiber membrane is prepared via the facile electrospinning strategy,followed by thermal crosslinking and in-situ lithiation *** from the conventional Celgard-based coating methods accompanied by impaired lithium ion transport efficiency,the C-PVA/PAA-Li composite nanofiber membrane possesses well-developed porous structures and high ionic conductivity,thus synergistically reducing the charge transfer resistance and inhibiting the growth of lithium *** resulting Li-S batteries exhibit an ultra-low fading rate of 0.08%per cycle after 400 cycles at 0.2 C,and a capacity of 633 mAhg−1 at a high current density of 3 *** study presents an inspiring and promising strategy to fabricate emerging dual-functional separators,which paves the pathway for the practical implementation of ultra-stable and reliable Li-S battery systems.

Green and environmentally friendly electrocatalytic nitrogen(N_(2))fixation to synthesize ammonia(NH3)is recognized as an effective method to replace the traditional Haber-Bosch ***,the difficulties in N_(2) adsorption and fracture of hard N≡N bond still remain major challenges in electrocatalytic N_(2) reduction reactions(NRR).From the perspectives of enhancing N_(2) adsorption and providing more catalytic sites,two-dimensional(2D)FeS_(2) nanosheets and three-dimensional(3D)metal organic framework-derived ZnS embedded within N-doped carbon polyhedras are grown on the carbon cloth(CC)template in this ***,a composite NRR catalyst with multi-dimensional structures,which is signed as FeS_(2)/ZnS-NC@CC,is obtained for using over a wide pH *** uniform distribution of hollow ZnS-NC frameworks and FeS_(2) nanosheets on the surface of CC largely increase the N_(2) enrichment efficiency and offer more active sites,while the CC skeleton acts as an independent conductive substrate and S-doping helps promote the fracture of N≡N bond during the NRR *** a result,the FeS_(2)/ZnS-NC@CC electrode achieves a high Faraday efficiency of 46.84%and NH3 yield of 58.52μg h^(−1) mg^(−1) at-0.5 V ***/AgCl in 0.1 M ***,the FeS_(2)/ZnS-NC@CC electrode displays excellent NRR catalytic activity in acidic and neutral electrolytes as well,which outperforms most previously reported electrocatalysts including noble ***,this work provides a new way for the design of multi-dimensional electrocatalysts with excellent electrocatalytic efficiency and stability for NRR applications.

Landscape design method for a green community based on green building design theory

Landscape design for a green community should be favorable for the ambient ecological environment and for enhancement of both the local climate of a residential area and the environmental quality of life. This paper presents optimization methods for plant landscape design that take account of results of comparisons of noise reduction effects, heat island temperature decreases and effects on ventilation. These methods are based on different plant configurations and various luminous environments, such as exterior sunshine and shaded areas after the simulation of exterior luminous, acoustic and thermal environments of a residential area using the analytic software ECOTECT, CADNA/A, and PHEONICS. Three different types of residential buildings are simulated including a faculty apartment in the Xixi Campus of Zhejiang University, the Huaqing Villa and the Gangwan Jiayuan faculty apartment of Zhejiang University, China, based on green building design theory. In addition, the methods and process flow of landscape design of green residential areas are also described for the improvement of the exterior physical living environment.

Free-Standing Silver Nanocube/Graphene Oxide Hybrid Paper for Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering

Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy （SERS） as a powerful analytical tool has gained extensive attention. Despite of many efforts in the design of SERS substrates, it remains a great challenge for creating a universal sub- strate with long-term stability and reproducible SERS signals. In this work, Ag nanocubes and graphene oxide （GO） suspension were mixed to form a stable solution and further vacuum filtrated to obtain a free-standing hybrid paper. The Ag/GO hybrid papers exhibit excellent SERS activity because of the synergistic effect of Ag nanocubes and GO sheets. GO sheets can act as both SERS enhancement substrate and framework for supporting Ag nanocubes. Moreover, GO sheets can protect Ag nanoparticles from oxidation under ambient condition for prolonged life time SERS substrate. Furthermore, we demonstrate the use of the free-standing and flexible Ag/GO hybrid paper to en- able direct, real-time and reliable detection of trace amounts of analytes in aqueous systems. This novel SERS sub- strate is expected to be applied in real-time analysis and expands the flexibility of SERS for useful applications in the materials and life science.

In-situ constructed polymer/alloy composite with high ionic conductivity as an artificial solid electrolyte interphase to stabilize lithium metal anode

Lithium(Li)metal is regarded as the best anode material for lithium metal batteries(LMBs)due to its high theoretical specific capacity and low redox ***,the notorious dendrites growth and extreme instability of the solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)layers have severely retarded the commercialization process of ***,a double-layered polymer/alloy composite artificial SEI composed of a robust poly(1,3-dioxolane)(PDOL)protective layer,Sn and LiCl nanoparticles,denoted as PDOL@Sn-LiCl,is fabricated by the combination of in-situ substitution and polymerization processes on the surface of Li metal *** lithiophilic Sn-LiCl multiphase can supply plenty of Li-ion transport channels,contributing to the homogeneous nucleation and dense accumulation of Li *** mechanically tough PDOL layer can maintain the stability and compact structure of the inorganic layer in the long-term cycling,and suppress the volume fluctuation and dendrites formation of the Li metal *** a result,the symmetrical cell under the double-layered artificial SEI protection shows excellent cycling stability of 300 h at 5.0 mA·cm^(−2)for 1 mAh·cm^(−2).Notably,the Li||LiFePO_(4)full cell also exhibits enhanced capacity retention of 150.1 mAh·g^(−1)after 600 cycles at 1.0 ***,the protected Li foil can effectively resist the air and water corrosion,signifying the safe operation of Li metal in practical *** present finding proposed a different tactic to achieve safe and dendrite-free Li metal anodes with excellent cycling stability.
