Treg Immunomodulation contributes to the Anti-atherosclerotic Effects of Huxin Formula in ApoE^(-/-)Mice

Objective:To explore the effects of Huxin formula(HXF)in curtailing atherosclerosis and its underlying ***:According to random number table method,24 specific.p.thogen free male ApoE^(-/-)mice were randomly divided into model group,HXF low-dose(HXF-L)group(8.4 g/kg daily),HXF high-dose(HXF-H)group(16.8 g/kg daily),and pravastatin(8 mg/kg daily)group in ExperimentⅠ(n=6 per group).c57BL/6J mice served as the control group(n=6).ApoE^(-/-)mice in HXF-L,HXF-H,pravastatin groups were fed a Western diet and administered continuously by gavage for 12 weeks,while c57BL/6J mice in the control group were fed conventional lab mouse chow for 12 ***,Tregs were depleted by weekly intraperitoneal injection of purified anti-mouse cD25 antibody(pc61,250μg per mouse)for 4 weeks in ExperimentⅡ(n=6 per group).Oil Red O and Masson staining were used to evaluate the plaque area and aortic root *** cD4^(+)cD25^(+)Foxp3^(+)Treg counts in the lymph nodes and spleen cells were detected using flow cytometric *** transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1),interleukin(IL)-10,and IL-6 serum levels were examined by MILLIpLEX?MAp *** real-time reverse transcription pcR(qRT-pcR)and Western blot were utilized to assess the expression of TGF-βmRNA and protein in the *** expression of cD4^(+)T lymphocytes,macrophages and smooth muscle cells in the aortic root were detected by immunofluorescence ***:HXF reduced plaque area in ApoE^(-/-)mice(pcreased the Treg counts in the lymph nodes and spleen cells(ppponse via elevating IL-10 and TGF-β1 serum levels(pcreasing the IL-6 serum levels in ApoE^(-/-)mice(p>0.05).Also,HXF upregulated the expression of TGF-βmRNA and protein in the aorta(pcD4^(+)T lymphocytes,macrophages and smooth muscle cells in aortic root plaque(ppletion of Tregs with cD25

When a curling rock slides on an ice sheet with an initial rotation,a lateral movement occurs,which is known as the curling *** force of friction between the curling rock and the ice sheet changes continually with changes in the environment;thus,the sport of curling requires great skill and *** throwing of the curling rock is a great challenge in robot design and control,and existing curling robots usually adopt a combination scheme of a wheel chassis and gripper that differs significantly from human throwing movements.A hexapod curling robot that imitates human kicking,sliding,pushing,and curling rock rotating was designed and manufactured by our group,and completed a perfect show during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics *** switching between the walking and throwing tasks is realized by the robot’s morphology transformation based on leg configuration *** robot’s controlling parameters,which include the kicking velocity v_(k),pushing velocity v_(p),orientation angle θc,and rotation velocityω,are determined by aiming and sliding models according to the estimated equivalent friction coefficientμ_(equ)and ratio e of the front and back *** stable errors between the target and actual stopping points converge to 0.2 and 1.105 m in the simulations and experiments,respectively,and the error shown in the experiments is close to that of a well-trained wheelchair curling *** robot holds promise for helping ice-makers rectify ice sheet friction or assisting in athlete training.

Ultrathin ternary ptNiGa nanowires for enhanced oxygen reduction reaction

Achieving high activity and durability for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)with an ultra-low amount of platinum is significant to promote the widespread application of proton exchange membrane fuel cells(pEMFcs).Here we report a new ultrathin(∼1 nm)ternary ptNiGa alloy nanowires(ptNiGa NWs)electrocatalyst,in which the presence of gallium(Ga)enhances the oxidation resistance of platinum(pt)and nickel(Ni)and suppresses the dissolution of *** mass and specific activities of ptNiGa NWs are about 11.2 and 7.6 times higher than those of commercial pt/c catalysts for ***,the mass activity of ptNiGa/c NWs nanocatalyst decreased only by 12.8%and largely retained its electrochemical surface area(EcSA)after 10,000 potential cycles,compared with 38%loss of EcSA for commercial pt/c ***,this work provides a general guideline for preparing ternary alloy electrocatalysts and enhancing the activity and stability of the cathode ORR reaction of pEMFcs.

Dynamically switchable porphyrin-based molecular tweezer for on-off fullerene recognition

Herein,a novel molecular tweezer based on 2,2'-bipyridine-bridged porphyrin subunits was constructed for efficient fullerenes *** syn conformation of the molecule,which was obtained by Zn(Ⅱ)coordination,gives rise to a proper cavity to interact with fullerene guests to form a stable 1:1 complex in toluene *** exhibits distinct binding selectivity towards c_(60)over c_(70).Moreover,the fullerene recognition c.p.city can be adequately suppressed by importing H_(2)pO_(4)^(-)to competitively c.p.ure Zn(Ⅱ)along with syn-anti conformational ***,the molecular tweezer regenerated to bind the fullerene by introducing the ca^(2+)into the ***,the association-disassociation process can be switched reversibly and repeatedly.

The environmental presence of decabromodiphenyl ether(BDE-209),which is toxic to the male reproductive system,is *** current study investigated its mechanism of toxicity in *** results showed,that BDE-209 induced DNA damage,decreased the expression of the promoter of meiosis spermatogenesis-and oogenesis-specific basic helix-loop-helix 1(Sohlh1),meiosis related-factors Lethal(3)malignant brain tumor like 2(L3MBTL2),pIWI-like protein 2(MILI),cyclin-dependent kinase 2(cDK2),cyclin A,synaptonemal complex protein 1(SYcp1)and synaptonemal complex protein 3(SYcp3),and caused spermatogenic cell apoptosis,resulting in a decrease in sperm quantity and ***,BDE-209 downregulated the levels of anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome(Apc/c),increased the expression of pIWI-like protein 1(MIWI)in the cytoplasm of elongating spermatids,and decreased the nuclear levels of RING finger protein 8(RNF8),ubiquitinated(ub)-H2A/ub-H2B,and protamine 1(pRM1)/protamine 2(pRM2),while increasing H2A/H2B nuclear levels in *** reproductive toxicity was persistent for 50 days following the withdrawal of BDE-209 *** results suggested that BDE-209 inhibits the initiation of meiosis by decreasing the expression of ***,the reduced expression of L3MBTL2 inhibited the formation of chromosomal synaptonemal complexes by depressing the expression of meiosis regulators affecting the meiotic.p.ogression and also inhibited histone ubiquitination preventing the replacement of histones by protamines,by preventing RNF8 from entering nuclei,which affected the evolution of spermatids into mature sperm.

Traditional high strength engineering alloys suffer from serious surface brittleness and inferior wear performance when servicing under sliding contact at cryogenic ***,we report that the recently emerging cocrNi multi-princ.p.l element alloy defies this trend and presents dramatically enhanced wear resistance when temperature decreases from 273 to 153 K,surpassing those of cryogenic austenitic *** temperature-dependent structure characteristics and deformation mechanisms influencing the cryogenic wear resistance of cocrNi are clarified through microsc.p.c observation and atomistic *** is found that sliding-induced subsurface structures show distinct scenarios at different deformation *** cryogenic condition,significant grain refinement and a deep plastic zone give rise to an extended microstructural gradient below the surface,which can accommodate massive sliding deformation,in direct contrast to the strain localization and delamination at 273 ***,the temperature-dependent cryogenic deformation mechanisms(stacking fault networks and phase transformation)also provide additional strengthening and toughening of the subsurface *** features make the cocrNi alloy particularly wear resistant at cryogenic conditions and an excellent candidate for safety–critical applications.

Interfacial Oxygen Octahedral coupling-Driven Robust Ferroelectricity in Epitaxial Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)Thin Films

The oxygen octahedral rotation(OOR)forms fundamental atomic distortions and symmetries in perovskite oxides and definitely determines their properties and ***,epitaxial strain and interfacial structural coupling engineering have been developed to modulate the OOR patterns and explore novel properties,but it is difficult to distinguish the 2 ***,different symmetries are induced in Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)(NBT)epitaxial films by interfacial oxygen octahedral coupling rather than epitaxial *** NBT film grown on the Nb:SrTiO_(3)substrate exhibits a paraelectric tetragonal phase,while with La_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)MnO_(3)as a buffer layer,a monoclinic.p.ase and robust ferroelectricity are obtained,with a remanent polarization of 42μc cm^(-2)and a breakdown strength of 7.89 MV cm^(-1),which are the highest record among NBT-based ***,the interfacial oxygen octahedral coupling effect is demonstrated to propagate to the entire thickness of the film,suggesting an intriguing long-range *** work provides a deep insight into understanding the structure modulation in perovskite heterostructures and an important avenue for achieving unique functionalities.
