Based on the relief of interfacial energy density by dislocation generation at the gamma - gamma ' interfaces, a rafting prediction criterion has been developed for nickel-base single crystals under multiaxial stresses. The diagrams of rafting have been presented, and confirmed by experimental results. The rafting process have been analyzed quantitatively by the relief of interfacial energy. The criterion has been applied to study the creep behavior. The example of creep life analysis shows that the criterion can be correlated greatly to the crystallographic orientation dependence of creep behavior. (Author abstract) 11 Refs.

This study purposes an in situ testing method on quality assessment of soil *** drilling data includes the spatial distribution and in situ strength of untreated and treated soil along three different drillholes measured by on-site drilling monitoring *** factual drilling data can characterize the degree of soil improvement by penetration injection with permeable *** from on-site drilling monitoring shows that the linear zones represent constant drilling speeds shown in the plot of drill bit advancement *** drilling time,which indicates the spatial distributions of soil *** soil profile at the study site is composed of four layers,which includes fill,untreated silty clay,treated silty clay,and mucky *** results of soil profile are verified by the parallel site *** constant drilling speeds profile the coring-resistant strength of drilled *** comparing with the untreated silty clay,the constant drilling speeds of the treated silty clay have been decreased by 13.0-62.8%.Two drilling-speed-based indices of 61.2%and 65.6%are proposed to assess the decreased average drilling speed and the increased in situ strength of treated silty *** tests,*** compressive strength(UCS)test,have been performed with core sample to investigate and characterize in situ strength by comparing that with drilling *** show that the average predicted strengths of treated silty clay are 2.4-6.9 times higher than the average measured strength of untreated silty *** UCS-based indices of 374.5%and 344.2%verified the quality assessment(QA)results by this new in situ *** method provides a cost-effective tool for quality assessment of soil improvement by utilizing the digital drilling data.

Because of the complexity and difficulty of realizing a multi-wavelength soliton state,reports on its internal dynamic characteristics are *** this study,the switching and periodic soliton explosion processes of the multi-wavelength soliton state in a negative dispersion passively mode-locked fiber laser are *** generation of the multi-wavelength soliton state undergoes the process of noise,oscillation,and stable mode-locking,and the splitting and annihilation of solitons with different group velocities directly impact the generation and disappearance of three *** and negative dispersion lead to different group velocities of *** presence and displacement of solitons with different group velocities cause soliton collisions,which lead to soliton explosions.A soliton experiences relative phase oscillation,chaos,and oscillation,as well as convergence and separation before and after an *** an increase in parameters related to pump power,single-soliton oscillation,multi-wavelength solitons,and chaos are found in experiments and simulations,proving the relevance and reliability between simulation and experimental *** work promotes the dynamical study of multi-soliton collisions in nonlinear science and the development of chaos theory in multi-comb lasers.

A significant excess of the stellar mass density at high redshift has been discovered from the early data release of James Webb Space Telescope(JWST),and it may require a high star formation ***,this will lead to large number density of ionizing photons in the epoch of reionization(EoR),so that the reionization history will be changed,which can arise tension with the current EoR *** dark matter(WDM),via the free streaming effect,can suppress the formation of small-scale structure as well as low-mass *** provides an effective way to decrease the ionizing photons when considering a large star formation efficiency in high-z massive galaxies without altering the cosmic reionization *** the other hand,the constraints on the properties of WDM can be derived from the JWST *** this work,we study WDM as a possible solution to reconcile the JWST stellar mass density of high-z massive galaxies and reionization *** find that,the JWST high-z comoving cumulative stellar mass density alone has no significant preference for either CDM or WDM *** using the observational data of other stellar mass density measurements and reionization history,we obtain that the WDM particle mass with mw=0.51_(-0.12)^(+0.22) keV and star formation efficiency parameter f_(*)^(0)> 0.39 in 2σ confidence level can match both the JWST high-z comoving cumulative stellar mass density and the reionization history.

Plant-based fermentations provide an untapped source for novel biotechnological *** this study,a probiotic named Lactobacillus fermentum 21828 was introduced to ferment Lentinus *** were extracted from fermented and non-fermented *** and purified via DEAE-52 and Sephadex *** components designated f-LEP-2a and Nf-LEP-2a were analyzed by fT-IR,HPGPC,HPAEC,SEM,GC-MS and *** results revealed that probiotic fermentation increased the molecular weight from 1.16×10^(4) Da to 1.87×10^(4) Da and altered the proportions of glucose,galactose and mannose,in which glucose increased from 45.94%to 48.16%.Methylation analysis and NMR spectra indicated that f-LEP-2a and Nf-LEP-2a had similar linkage ***,their immunomodulatory activities were evaluated with immunosuppressive ***-LEP and f-LEP improved immune organ indices,immunoglobulin(Ig G and Ig M)and cytokines concentrations;restored the antioxidation capacity of liver;and maintained the balance of gut microbiota.f-LEP displayed better moderating effects on the spleen index,immunoglobulin,cytokines and the diversity of gut microbiota than Nf-LEP(200,400 mg/kg).Our study provides an efficient and environment-friendly way for the structural modification of polysaccharides,which helps to enhance their biological activity and promote their wide application in food,medicine and other fields.

The nanoscale confinement is of great important for the industrial applications of molecular sieve,desalination,and also essential in bio-logical transport *** efforts have been devoted to the influence of restricted spaces on the properties of confined ***,the situation of channel-wall is crucial but attracts less attention and remains *** fundamentally understand the mechanism of channel-walls in nanoconfinement,we investigated the interaction between the counter-force of the liquid and interlamellar spacing of nanochannel walls by considering the effect of both spatial confinement and surface *** results reveal that the nanochannel stables at only a few discrete spacing states when its confinement is within 1.4 *** quantized interlayer spacing is attributed to water molecules becoming laminated structures,and the stable states are corresponding to the monolayer,bilayer and trilayer water configurations,*** results can potentially help to understand the characterized interlayers spacing of graphene oxide membrane in *** findings are hold great promise in design of ion filtration membrane and artificial water/ion channels.

The shuttle effect induced by soluble lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)is known as one of the crucial issues that limit the practical applications of lithium-sulfur(Li-S)***,a titanium dioxide nanoparticle embedded in nitrogen-doped porous carbon nanofiber(TiO_(2)@NCNf)composite is constructed via an interface-induced polymerization strategy to serve as an ideal sulfur *** the protection of the nanofiber walls,the uniformly dispersed TiO_(2) nanocrystalline can act as capturing centers to constantly immobilize LiPSs towards durable sulfur ***,the mesoporous microstructure in the fibrous framework endows the TiO_(2)@NCNf host with strong physical reservation for sulfur and LiPSs,sufficient pathways for electron/ion transfer,and excellent endurance for volume *** expected,the sulfur-loaded TiO_(2)@NCNf composite electrode presents a fabulous rate performance and long cycle lifespan(capacity fading rate of 0.062%per cycle over 500 cycles)at 2.0 ***,the assembled Li-S batteries harvest superb areal capacity and cycling stability even under high sulfur loading and lean electrolyte conditions.

N6-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)plays an important role in embryogenesis,nuclear export,transcription splicing,and protein translation ***,we demonstrate a copper-free click chemistry-mediated assembly of single quantum dot(QD)nanosensor for accurately monitoring locus-specific m^(6)A in cancer *** m^(6)A-sensitive endoribonuclease Mazf can digest the unmethylated A-RNA,and the intact m^(6)A-RNA then hybridizes with DNA probes a and b to produce a sandwich hybrid,initiating the click chemistry to generate probe a–b ligation product via first tandem ligation detection reaction(LDR)***,DNA probes c and d can hybridize with the probe a–b ligation product to generate the probe c–d ligation product via second LDR *** LDR cycles can be repeated through denaturation and annealing reaction to generate abundant biotin-/fluorophore-modified probe c–d ligation products that can easily assemble on the QD surface to induce distinct fluorescence resonance energy transfer(fRET)between QD and *** assay can be homogenously performed without the involvement of copper catalyst,m^(6)A-specific antibody,radioactive labeling,ligase enzyme,enzymatic reverse transcription,and next-generation ***,it can discriminate even 0.01% m^(6)A level in complex samples and accurately measure cellular m^(6)A-RNA expression,providing a promising avenue for clinical diagnostics and biomedical research.

Sodium dentrite formed by uneven plating/stripping can reduce the utilization of active sodium with poor cyclic stability and,more importantly,cause internal short circuit and lead to thermal runaway and ***,sodium dendrites and their related problems seriously hinder the practical application of sodium metal batteries(SMBs).Herein,a design concept for the incorporation of metal-organic framework(MOf)in polymer matrix(polyvinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene)is practiced to prepare a novel gel polymer electrolyte(PH@MOf polymer-based electrolyte[GPE])and thus to achieve high-performance *** addition of the MOf particles can not only reduce the movement hindrance of polymer chains to promote the transfer of Na^(+)but also anchor anions by virtue of their negative charge to reduce polarization during electrochemical reaction.A stable cycling performance with tiny overpotential for over 800 h at a current density of 5 mA cm^(-2)with areal capacity of 5 mA h cm^(-2)is achieved by symmetric cells based on the resulted GPE while the Na_(3)V_(2)O_(2)(PO_(4))_(2)f@rGO(NVOPf)|PH@MOf|Nacell also displays impressive specific cycling capacity(113.3 mA h g^(-1)at 1 C)and rate capability with considerable capacity retention.
