Comparison of microstructure,mechanical property,and degradation rate of Mg-1Li-1Ca and Mg-4Li-1Ca alloys

Mg-1 wt.%Li-1 wt.%Ca(LX11)and Mg-4 wt.%Li-1 wt.%Ca(LX41)alloys share the same hexagonal closed-packed crystalline ***,the differences in microstructure,mechanical properties,and degradation rates between the two alloys are not well ***,the above three aspects of LX11 and LX41 alloys were studied via optical microscopy,tensile tests,and electrochemical polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,together with hydrogen *** concentration of the released Mg^(2+),Ca^(2+),and Li+ions was analyzed using a flame atomic absorption *** demonstrated that the LX11 alloy was composed of finerα-Mg grains,fewer twins,and smaller volume fractions of the intermetallic phases Mg_(2)Ca than the LX41 *** increasing Li concentration generated a weak decrease in the yield strength of the Mg-Li-Ca alloys,a remarkable increase in elongation to failure,and a stable ultimate tensile *** LX11 alloy had better corrosion resistance than the LX41 *** release rate of the cations(Mg^(2+),Ca^(2+),and Li+)varied significantly with *** release rate of metallic ions in Hank’s solution cannot reflect the true corrosion rate of Mg-Li-Ca alloys due to the formation of the precipitated corrosion products and their difference in *** dealloying corrosion mechanism of the Mg_(2)Ca phase in Mg-Li-Ca alloys was proposed.

Corrosion Resistance of Superhydrophobic Mg-Al Layered Double Hydroxide Coatings on Aluminum Alloys

A superhydrophobic surface was successfully constructed to modify the layered double hydroxide （LDH） coatings on aluminum alloy using stearic acid. The characteristics of the coatings were investigated using SEM, XRD, FT- IR and XPS. The corrosion resistance of the prepared coatings was studied using potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectrum. The results revealed that the superhydrophobic surface considerably improved the corrosion-resistant performance of the LDH coatings on the aluminum alloy substrate. The formation mechanism of the superhydrophobic surface was proposed.

Torin2 overcomes sorafenib resistance via suppressing mTORC2-AKT-BAD pathway in hepatocellular carcinoma cells

Background:Sorafenib is an oral multi-kinase inhibitor that was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).However,resistance to sorafenib is an urgent problem to be resolved to improve the therapeutic efficacy of *** the activation of AKT/mTOR played a pivotal role in sorafenib resistance,we evaluated the effect of a dual mTOR complex 1/2 inhibitor Torin2 on overcoming the sorafenib resistance in HCC ***:The sorafenib-resistant Huh7 and Hep3B cell lines were established from their parental cell *** synergistic effect of sorafenib and Torin2 on these cells was measured by cell viability assay and quantified using the Chou-Talalay *** induced by the combination of sorafenib and Torin2 and the alteration in the specific signaling pathways of interest were detected by Western ***:Sorafenib treatment inversely inhibited AKT in parental but activated AKT in sorafenib-resistant Huh7 and Hep3B HCC cells,which underscores the significance of AKT ***2 and sorafenib synergistically suppressed the viability of sorafenib-resistant cells via apoptosis ***2 successfully suppressed the sorafenib-activated mTORC2-AKT axis,leading to the dephosphorylation of Ser136 in BAD protein,and increased the expression of total BAD,which contributed to the apoptosis in sorafenibresistant HCC ***:In this study,Torin2 and sorafenib showed synergistic cytostatic capacity in sorafenibresistant HCC cells,via the suppression of mTORC2-AKT-BAD *** results suggest a novel strategy of drug combination for overcoming sorafenib resistance in HCC.

Identification of the flavor profiles of Chinese pancakes from various areas using smart instruments combined with E-noses and E-tongues

In order to reveal the flavor characteristics of Chinese pancakes,the aroma and taste compounds of seven traditional Chinese pancakes were *** results showed that electronic nose(E-nose)analysis with PCA could successfully distinguish the aroma profiles of seven Chinese pancakes;the principal components PC1 and PC2 represented 75.74%and 23.2%of the total variance(98.94%)***,the discrimination index of taste profiles of seven Chinese pancakes based on electronic tongue(E-tongue)analysis with LDA was 99.32%;the discriminant factors DF1 and DF2 represented 94.99%and 4.33%of the total variance ***,GC-MS results demonstrated that thirty-threeﬂavor compounds were identiﬁed in seven Chinese pancakes,including aldehydes,alcohols,alkanes,acids,and *** the flavor components,aldehydes with ROAVs higher than 1 contributed most significantly to the overall aroma,such as(E,E)-2,4-nonadienal present the largest contribution in Qingzhou pancake,Jinan and Yishui pancake;hexanal present the largest contribution in Shenxian and Gaomi pancake;nonanal and benzeneacetaldehyde present the largest contribution in Linqu and Tai’an pancake,*** umami and sweet taste amino acids were the most abundant in all the Chinese pancake samples,and Qingzhou pancake had relatively high amino acid *** content of glucose was higher than maltose in Gaomi,Shenxian,and Tai’an pancakes,whereas the content of maltose was higher than glucose in Linqu,Qingzhou,Jinan,and Yishui *** results indicated that the aroma and taste proﬁles of Chinese pancakes differed significantly in terms of their flavor compound *** presented results could be beneficial for providing a comprehensive method for flavor profile identification of traditional whole-grain-based staples such as Chinese pancakes.

Ca (II) speciation and effect of Gd (III) speciation on Ca (II) speciation in human blood plasma were studied by computer simulation. [CaHCO3](-) is a predominant compound species of Ca (II). Gd (III) can compete with Ca (II) for biological molecules. The presence of Gd (III) results in a increase of concentration of free Ca (II) and a decrease of concentration of Ca (II) compounds.

Effects of hot compression deformation temperature on the microstructure and properties of Al–Zr–La alloys

The main goal of this study is to investigate the microstructure and electrical properties of Al–Zr–La alloys under different hot compression deformation temperatures. In particular, a Gleeble 3500 thermal simulator was used to carry out multi-pass hot compression tests. For five-pass hot compression deformation, the last-pass deformation temperatures were 240, 260, 300, 340, 380, and 420°C, respectively, where the first-pass deformation temperature was 460°C. The experimental results indicated that increasing the hot compression deformation temperature with each pass resulted in improved electrical conductivity of the alloy. Consequently, the flow stress was reduced after deformation of the samples subjected to the same number of passes. In addition, the dislocation density gradually decreased and the grain size increased after hot compression deformation. Furthermore, the dynamic recrystallization behavior was effectively suppressed during the hot compression process because spherical Al;Zr precipitates pinned the dislocation movement effectively and prevented grain boundary sliding.

Two new freshwater centric diatom species were described from the southwest of China based on light and scanning electron *** weixiense *** a transversely undulate valve face,marginal fultoportulae situated at the end of the hyaline strips,central fultoportulae forming a ring positioned in a circular pattern,each with 3-4(usually 3)satellite pores,and a single rimoportula located at the base of the inner distal end of the *** aspera *** an uneven valve face with small granules that may be present on the marginal area and valve mantle,marginal fultoportulae situated on each costa close to the margin of the valve,6-7 central fultoportulae forming a ring near the valve center each with two satellite pores,and one rimoportula located on the valve face/mantle junction in the middle of costa on the internal *** *** the first reported extant species in the *** study played an important role in studying the taxonomic status and ecological information of the genus,and the establishment of the two new taxa will help demonstrate the unique nature of freshwater diatom flora in the southwest of China.

Preparation of bifunctional electrocatalyst by recycling heavy metal ions from wastewater using EDTAD-functionalized MOF as highly efficient adsorbent

The recovery and subsequent reuse of heavy metal ions from industrial wastewater are crucial for promoting sustainable development,but they also presen significant *** this article,ethylenediaminetetraacetic dianhydride(EDTAD),which possesses strong metal chelating ability,is covalently attached to MIL-101-NH_(2)(Fe),resulting in a significant improvement in the removal rate of heavy metal ions in ***,the recovered waste metal ions are transformed into high-performance feni_(3)/NiFe_(2)O_(4)@NC dual-functional oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)***,feni_(3)/NiFe_(2)O_(4)@NC exhibits outstanding OER performance,with only a264 mV overpotential at 10 mA·cm^(-2).Density functiona theory(DFT)calculations reveal that the synergistic effect of the feni_(3)/NiFe_(2)O_(4)@NC heterostructure can enhance conductivity,optimize the free energy of*to OH*during OER reaction,and promote catalytic *** work not only improves the removal rate of heavy metal ions but also obtains high-performance catalysts,while providing a new approach for the treatment and secondary utilization of heavy metal ion wastewater as well as the preparation of low-cost catalysts.
