Transverse magnetic field(TMF)contacts and applying external TMF are often adopted for reducing the ablation of the contact surface,but TMF will also affect the breaking performance of the vacuum *** this work,we investigated the influence of weak TMF on the expansion of the plasma in the post-arc phase with one-dimensional implicit particle-in-cell/Monte Carlo collision model,and we added an external circuit to the model to ensure the correctness of the calculation *** simulated multiple magnetic field strengths(<30 mT),compared the plasma expansion process with the TMF strengths of 0 mT and 10 mT,and discussed the influence of metal vapor density on the insulation performance recovery of the vacuum *** the results,applying TMF with strength below 5 mT has little effect on the expansion of the plasma,and the TMF can increase the plasma density which improve the flow capacity of vacuum circuit breakers when the magnetic field above 10 mT,which is because the particles become more difficult to leave the discharge area under the force of the magnetic *** general,we find that weak external TMF may adversely affect the breaking performance of the vacuum circuit breakers.

It is well accepted that feedback from active galactic nuclei （AGNs） plays an important role in the coevolution of the supermassive black hole （SMBH） and its host galaxy, but the concrete mechanism of feedback remains unclear. A considerable body of evidence suggests that AGN feedback suppresses star formation in the host galaxy. We assemble a sample of Seyfert 2 galaxies with recent observational data of compact nuclear starbursts and estimate the gas surface density as a function of column density to illuminate the relation between feedback and AGN properties. Although there are some uncertainties, our data still imply the deviation from the star formation law （Kennicutt-Schmidt law）. Further, they indicate that：（1） Feedback correlates with the Eddington ratio, rather than with the mass of SMBH, as a result of decreasing star formation efficiency. （2） The SMBH and the torus are probably undergoing coevolution. Conclusions presented here can be refined through future high resolution CO or HCN observations.

Self-powered sensors are highly sought for wireless sensing applications in space exploration,industries,and environmental monitoring,***,most current self-powered sensor technologies are based on the multiple energy conversion routine:energy collection,rectification,energy storage,and power management before it can be used for sensor systems,leading to exceptionally low energy utilization efficiency and very short periods of wireless sensing operation with majority of information ***,we propose a triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)based fully self-powered instantaneous and real-time wireless sensor system which does not contain electronic devices and microchips,but the passive components *** innovative cylindrical capacitive-type liquid level sensor is also proposed and is then integrated into the wireless sensor system for monitoring liquid levels or identifying substance of the *** sensor system can convert pulsed voltage output of the TENG into sinusoidal signal with a resonant frequency containing the sensing information and is transmitted to the receiver in distance in *** maximum transmission distance of the sensor system could reach 1.5 m for a 10 cm diameter magnetic-core coil *** wireless sensor system exhibited excellent stability and excellent linearity with a sensitivity of 4.63 kHz/cm,and demonstrated its great application potential for the self-powered liquid level monitoring.

Ru and Mo bimetallic catalysts supported on active carbon modified by phosphotungstic acid(PW)were designed and applied in glycerol hydrogenolysis *** physicochemical properties of the catalysts were characterized and the presence of active sites was investigated from the perspective of the glycerol hydrogenolysis *** MoOxis highly selective for the C—O bond cleavage of glycerol molecules,which can reasonably regulate the strong C—C bond cleavage activity of Ru *** using sequential deposition of Ru and Mo supported on mesoporous PW-C,the characterization results show that the combination of isolated low-valence MoOxwith metal Ru particles can form“MoOx-Ru-PW”,which provides highly catalytic activity toward C—O bond cleavage,selectively producing more C3 alcohols(mainly 1,2(3)-propanediol).The glycerol conversion of 1%Mo/Ru/PW-C catalyst was 59.6%,the selectivity of C3 alcohol was 96.1%,and the selectivity of propanediol(1,2(3)-propanediol)was 94.9%.It is noteworthy that the selectivity of 1,3-propanediol reached 20.7%when the PW was 21.07%(mass).This study provides experimental evidence for the tandem dehydration and hydrogenation mechanism of the multifunctional Mo/Ru/PW-C catalyst.

This work proposes a modified activated carbon support,with defects and heteroatoms(N,P-ACs)by nitrogen and phosphorus doping to load non-noble nickel to catalyze aromatic compound *** Ni/N,P-ACs-900(prepared at 900℃)showed promising catalytic activity in liquid-phase 1,5-dinitronaphthalene hydrogenation with a 1,5-diaminonaphthalene yield of 95.8% under the mild condition of 100℃,which is comparable to the commercial Pd/C *** nitrogen species were burned off at 900℃,causing more defects for nickel metal loading,facilitating the interaction between the supports and the nickel metal,and resulting in highly dispersed metal *** computational study of the nickel binding energy has been conducted using density functional *** exhibits that the defects formed by heteroatom doping are beneficial to nickel anchoring and deposition to form highly uniform nickel *** phosphorus species in combination with the defects are suitable for H_(2) adsorption and *** results reveal that the heteroatomic doping on the active carbon shows significant effects in the hydrogenation of the liquid-phase aromatic *** findings could provide a promising route for the rational design of aromatic compound hydrogenation catalysts to significantly decrease the cost by instead using noble metal catalysts in the industry.

The microstructure and morphology of Ti_(3)AlC_(2)powders not only affect the preparation of Ti_(3)C_(2) MXene but also have a great influence on their potential applications,such as microwave absorbers,alloy additives,or catalytic ***,the synthesis of Ti_(3)AlC_(2)powders with desired microstructure and morphology remains a ***,hollow Ti_(3)AlC_(2)microrods were prepared for the first time in NaCl/KCl molten salts by using titanium,aluminum,and short carbon fibers as starting *** was found that the short carbon fibers not only performed as carbon source but also acted as sacrificial ***,it was revealed that TiC and Ti2AlC were initially formed on the surface of carbon *** subsequent reactions between the outer Ti,Al and the inner carbon were dominated by the Kirkendall effect which gave rise to the formation of a hollow *** on this mechanism,hollow Ti_(3)AlC_(2)microspheres and a series of hollow TiC,Ti_(2)AlC,and V_(2)AlC powders were also successfully *** work provides a facile route to synthesize hollow MAX phases and may give enlightenment on preparing other hollow carbide powders via the Kirkendall effect in the molten salts.

The development of high-performance aqueous batteries calls for an in-depth knowledge of their chargedischarge redox and failure mechanism,as well as a systematic understanding of the dynamic evolution of microstructure,phase composition,chemical composition,and local chemical environment of the materials for ***-situ characterization technology is expected to understand and reveal the problems faced by aqueous rechargeable batteries,such as the dissolution of electrode materials,the growth of metal negative electrode dendrites,passivation,corrosion,side reactions and a series of *** on this,typical in-situ characterization techniques and their basic mechanisms are summarized,including in-situ optical visualization,in-situ microscopy techniques(in-situ scanning electron microscopy(SEM),in-situ transmission electron microscopy(TEM)),in-situ X-ray techniques(in-situ X-ray diffraction(XRD),in-situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),in-situ near-edge structural X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XANES)),and in-situ spectroscopy techniques(in-situ Raman spectroscopy,in-situ Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)).Moreover,some emerging techniques concerning aqueous battery research,especially gas evolution and materials dissolution issues,such as in-situ electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance(EQCM).in-situ fiber-optic sensing,in-situ gas chromatography(GC) are *** last,the applications of advanced in-situ characterizations in future research of aqueous batteries are emphasized and discussed,along with some of the remaining challenges and possible solutions.

Chondrocyte degeneration and extracellular matrix component loss are the primary causes of osteoarthritis(OA).OA can be treated by inhibiting chondrocyte degeneration and increasing extracellular matrix component ***(OPN),a multifunctional protein,has gained immense attention with regard to its involvement in *** study aimed to explore the therapeutic value and mechanism of action of OPN in OA *** of the histomorphological analysis revealed a worn-off OA cartilage tissue surface,cartilage matrix layer deterioration,and calcium salt *** to that in normal chondrocytes,in OA chondrocytes,the OPN,CD44,and PI3K protein and mRNA expression was ***,siOPN,rhOPN,and rhOPN plus LS-C179404 interfered with OA *** verified in mice,OPN directly inhibited the expression level of PI3K in OA chondrocytes by binding with *** analysis of the knee joints demonstrated that OPN effectively inhibited OA progression via the OPN/CD44/PI3K signal *** conclusion,OPN activates intracellular PI3K signaling molecules by binding to CD44 on the cell surface to cause downstream cascading effects,thereby delaying chondrocyte degeneration and reducing cartilage matrix component loss;therefore,OPN is a potential therapeutic agent for OA.

Studies have shown that microalloying Cu-Ni-Sn alloys using Al inhibits discontinuous precipitation reactions;however,the mechanism has not been investigated ***,this study explored the properties and precipitation evolution of Cu-15Ni-8Sn alloys without and with 1 wt%Al(Cu-15Ni-8Sn-1Al)during ageing at 500℃ through X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy and high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron *** results revealed that in Cu-15Ni-8Sn alloy,DO_(22)ordering first occurred after spinodal decomposition,subsequently transitioning to an L1_(2)ordering phase,during which the discontinuous precipitates gradually nucleated at the grain boundaries and formed *** alloy hardness increased sharply with ordering and then decreased rapidly after reaching its peak value,due to the dominance of the discontinuous precipitation ***,the DO_(22)ordered phase did not appear during the ageing of Cu-15Ni-8Sn-1Al alloy,and a Ni_(3)(Al_(x),Sn_(1-x))intermetallic compound with L1_(2)structure was formed,consuming Ni and Sn atoms,thereby significantly suppressing the discontinuous precipitation reaction and improving the stability during prolonged *** tensile strength(yield strength)of Cu-15Ni-8Sn and Cu-15Ni-8Sn-1Al alloys at peak hardness were 855(755)and 936 MPa(892 MPa),respectively,and their main strengthening mechanisms were solid solution strengthening and precipitation *** addition of 1 wt%Al effectively improved the precipitation strengthening effect of Cu-Ni-Sn alloys but severely decreased the ductility.
