The growth model of a spherical crystal in the undercooled melt including the surface energy, interfacial kinetics and convective flow is established. The effect of the convective flow induced by a small far field flow on the evolution and morphological stability of the interface of the spherical crystal is studied. The interface shape of the spherical crystal, which is affected by the far field flow, and the dispersion relation of the growth rate of amplitude of the perturbed interface are derived. It is shown that the convection induced by the far field flow makes the interface of the growing spherical crystal further grow in the upstream direction of the far field flow and inhibit growth in the downstream direction; the interface of the decaying spherical crystal further decays in the upstream direction and inhibits decay in the downstream direction. The theoretical result suggests that both the growth of the sphere in the upstream direction and the decay of the sphere in the downstream direction make the spherical crystal tend to evolve into an oval; the morphological stability of the interface depends on a certain radius R c such that the spherical crystal is unstable when its radius is greater than R c and stable when its radius is less than R c . The surface energy and interfacial kinetics have strong stabilizing effects on the growth of the spherical crystal. In the meantime interfacial kinetics is a table factor of the interface when the interface of the sphere is growing; it is an unstable factor of the interface when the interface is decaying.

The lymph circulation plays an important role in interstitial fluid balance, protein transport, and immune system. However, its mechanism is poorly understood, and associated pathologies are mostly untreatable. By following Sungawa＇s method of discussing the heart output, a hemodynamic model of lymph circulation was set up. The model was used to demonstrate how the lymphatic fluid formation, investigate the relationship between the lymph flow rate QL and physiological parameters, and explore how local massage influences QL Computer simulation results show that QL is linearly proportional to the interstitial fluid pressure P~, which is similar to experimental observations. Comparing the simulated value of QL during the massage of different frequency with the experimental data from Ikomi shows that they are identical, which indicates that the presented model is rational to explain the mechanism of massage treatment in traditional Chinese medicine （TCM）.

BACKGROUND: Myasthenia gravis (MG) is considered as a peripheral neuromuscular disorder. Some investigations demonstrate that MG affects central nervous system (CNS), and there are disorders in cognitive function, affection, sleep, mental status and others; however, there are also some different standpoints. Some questions are still disputed, such as whether or not MG exists in the CNS and cognitive function is impaired. DATA SOURCES: Using the terms of 'myasthenia gravis, neuropsychological test, memory, central, brain, cognitive dysfunction and so on', we searched the Medline database for the articles about CNS involved in MG, nerve and neuropsychology as well as cognitive function, which were published in the English language between January 1985 and December 2004. Meanwhile, we also searched CNKI database by inputting 'myasthenia gravis, neuropsychology and cognitive function' in Chinese for articles about involved neuropsychology and cognitive function which were published between October 1995 and June 2006 in the Chinese language. STUDY SELECTION: Data were checked in the first trial, and articles about the influences of MG on CNS, neuropsychology, cognitive function and central cholinergic function were selected, then those were obviously unrelated with above criteria were excluded. Articles which expound the influences of MG on neuropsychology and cognitive were included, but those with repeated contents were also excluded. DATA EXTRACTION: A total of 89 related English articles and 3. Chinese articles were collected, including 43.studies on involved CNS and 3. studies on involved central cholinergic function and cholinergic receptor. Sixty-three literatures were about neuropsychology and cognitive function, which were closely related with this article. Seventy-two articles met inclusive criteria and 66 were excluded. AIM:To investigate the endoscopy and histology of short-segment Barrett's esophagus (SSBE) and cardia intestinal metaplasia (CIM),and their correlation with Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) gastritis and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). METHODS:Biopsy specimens were taken from 3. SSBE patients and 41 CIM patients with normal appearance of the esophagogastric junction. Eight biopsy specimens from the lower esophagus,cardia,and gastric antrum were stained with hematoxylin/eosin,Alcian blue/periodic acid-Schiff,Alcian blue/high iron diamine and Gimenez dye. Results were graded independently by one pathologist. RESULTS:The SSBE patients were younger than the CIM patients (P < 0.01). The incidence of dysplasia and incomplete intestinal metaplasia subtype was higher in SSBE patients than in CIM patients (P < 0.01). H. pylori infection was correlated with antral intestinal metaplasia (P < 0.05),but not with reflux symptomatic,endoscopic,or histological markers of GERD in CIM patients. SSBE was correlated with reflux symptomatic and endoscopic esophagitis (P < 0.01),but not with H. pylori infection and antral intestinal metaplasia. CONCLUSION:Dysplasia risk is significantly greater in SSBE patients than in CIM patients. CIM is a manifestation of H. pylori-associated and multifocal atrophic gastritis,whereas SSBE may result from GERD.

It remains open to date to produce stable nanostructures of single element by dry mechanical method at room temperature on a large scale. Here we report nanostructural evolution of zinc by dry roller vibration milling at room temperature, which leads to structurally near perfect zinc flakes sized 3.5 nm in diameter. The synthesized nanostructures are single crystalline, transparent, uniform, randomly oriented, almost equiaxed, and mostly free from defects. The evolution seems to open a way to optimize zinc nanostructures by the mechanical method, offer valuable references to prepare nanostructures of other metals optimally, and shed light on how to lower the size limit by mechanical milling. Single elemental metal nanostructures with excellent properties give rise to new opportunities in scientific research and development of nanotechnology.

The complete harmonic vibrational force field of dimethylnitramine has been calculated at the Hartree-Fock level using 4-21G basis *** harmonic force field was then scaled with scale factors previously derived from N-methylnitramine,and the vibrational spectrum of dimethylnitramine was *** apriori prediction,made with no reference to observations on dimethylnitramine, agrees with the experimental IR spectrum in gas phase with a mean deviation of 8.4 cm^(-1).Some of the scale factors were reoptimized by fitting of the computed force field to experimental *** new set of scale factors reduced the mean deviation to 4.5 cm^(-1),and was used to predict the vibrational spectrum of deuterated form of dimethylnitramine(-6D).Dipole moment derivatives were also cal- culated and used to predict infrared intensities which are comparable with experimental values.
