Rice(Oryza sativa L.)isa staplecropforhalf theworld's Ipopulation and an important contributor to world food security.The discovery and application of cytoplasmic male sterility(CMS)and fertility restoration(Rf)genetic materials have allowed the production of three-line hybrid rice(Kim and Zhang,2018),successfully harnessing heterosis in crops.Three major CMS and/or Rf systems are commonly used to produce three-line hybrid rice:Wild Abortive(CMS-WA),Boroll(CMS-BT),and Honglian(CMS-HL).Among these,the CMS-WA system is the most widely employed(Sattari et al.,2007;Chen and Liu,2014;Huang et al.,2014).Several Rf genes from different CMS systems have been cloned in rice,including Rf4 for CMS-WA(Tang et al.,2014),Rf1a and Rf1b for CMS-BT(Wang et al.,2006),Rf5,and Rf6 for CMS-HL(Huet al.,2012;Huang et al.,2015),and Rf19for CMS-FA(Jiang et al.,2022).A molecular mechanism and evolutionary model for the CMS-WA gene WA352c have also been reported(Luo et al.,2013;Tang et al.,2017).

In this paper,we explore bound preserving and high-order accurate local discontinuous Galerkin(LDG)schemes to solve a class of chemotaxis models,including the classical Keller-Segel(KS)model and two other density-dependent problems.We use the convex splitting method,the variant energy quadratization method,and the scalar auxiliary variable method coupled with the LDG method to construct first-order temporal accurate schemes based on the gradient flow structure of the models.These semi-implicit schemes are decoupled,energy stable,and can be extended to high accuracy schemes using the semi-implicit spectral deferred correction method.Many bound preserving DG discretizations are only worked on explicit time integration methods and are difficult to get high-order accuracy.To overcome these difficulties,we use the Lagrange multipliers to enforce the implicit or semi-implicit LDG schemes to satisfy the bound constraints at each time step.This bound preserving limiter results in the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker condition,which can be solved by an efficient active set semi-smooth Newton method.Various numerical experiments illustrate the high-order accuracy and the effect of bound preserving.

The Northeast China cold vortex(NCCV)is one of the main synoptic-scale systems causing short-duration heavy rainfall(SDHR)in Northeast China.Environmental conditions(e.g.,water vapor,instability,and vertical wind shear)are known to be distinctly different over the four quadrants of NCCVs,rendering prediction of the SDHR related to NCCVs(NCCV_SDHR)more challenging.Based on 5-yr hourly rainfall observations from 3196 automatic weather stations and ERA5 reanalysis data,10,232 NCCV_SDHR events were identified and divided into four quadrant groups according to their relative position to the center of the NCCV(CVC).The results show that the southeast quadrant features the highest frequency of SDHR,with stronger intensity,longer duration,and wider coverage;and the SDHR in different quadrants presents different formation mechanisms and varied temporal evolution.A new coordinate system is established relative to the CVC that uses the CVC as the origin and the radius of the NCCV(r CV)as the unit distance.In this new coordinate system,all of the NCCV_SDHR events in the 5-yr study period are synthesized.It is found that the occurrence frequency of NCCV_SDHR initially increases and then decreases with increasing distance from the CVC.The highest frequency occurs mainly between 0.8 and 2.5 times r CV from the CVC in the southeast quadrant.This can be attributed to the favorable conditions,such as convergence of the low-level shear line and abundant water vapor,which are concentrated in this region.Furthermore,high-frequency NCCV_SDHR larger than 50 mm(NCCV_SDHR50)is observed to be closer to the CVC.When NCCV_SDHR50occurs,the NCCV is in closer proximity to the subtropical high,resulting in stronger low-level convergence and more abundant water vapor.Additionally,there are lower lifting condensation levels and stronger 0-6-and 0-1-km vertical wind shears in these environments.These findings provide a valuable reference for more accurate prediction of NCCV_SDHR.

In this paper,we propose a finite volume Hermite weighted essentially non-oscillatory(HWENO)method based on the dimension by dimension framework to solve hyperbolic conservation laws.It can maintain the high accuracy in the smooth region and obtain the high resolution solution when the discontinuity appears,and it is compact which will be good for giving the numerical boundary conditions.Furthermore,it avoids complicated least square procedure when we implement the genuine two dimensional(2D)finite volume HWENO reconstruction,and it can be regarded as a generalization of the one dimensional(1D)HWENO method.Extensive numerical tests are performed to verify the high resolution and high accuracy of the scheme.

Mechanism Design for Ancillary Service Market Considering Social Welfare and Fairness

Increasing penetration of distributed energy resources in the distribution network(DN)is threatening safe operation of the DN,which necessitates setup of the ancillary service market in the DN.In the ancillary service market,distribution system operator(DSO)is responsible for safety of the DN by procuring available capacities of aggregators.Unlike existing studies,this paper proposes a novel market mechanism composed of two parts:choice rule and payment rule.The proposed choice rule simultaneously considers social welfare and fairness,encouraging risk-averse aggregators to participate in the ancillary service market.It is then formulated as a linear programming problem,and a distributed solution using the multi-cut Benders decomposition is presented.Moreover,successful implementation of the choice rule depends on each aggregator’s truthful adoption of private parameters.Therefore,a payment rule is also designed,which is proved to possess two properties:incentive compatibility and individual rationality.Simulation results demonstrate effectiveness of the proposed choice rule on improving fairness and verify properties of the payment rule.

In ASIACCS 2015, Nu nez, et al. proposed a proxy re-encryption scheme, named NTRURe Encrypt, based on NTRU, which allows a proxy to translate ciphertext under the delegator’s public key into a re-encrypted ciphertext that can be decrypted correctly by delegatee’s private key. Because of the potential resistance to quantum algorithm, high efficiency and various applications in real life,NTRURe Encrypt has drawn lots of attention and its security has been widely discussed and analyzed.In PQCrypto2019, Liu, et al. proposed two key recovery attacks against it. However, their first attack heavily relies on a weaken decryption oracle, and the second attack needs to collect about 260ciphertexts from the same message by theoretical analysis, which makes both of the attacks unrealistic. In this paper, inspired by the broadcast attack against NTRU, the authors find out that for NTRURe Encrypt the delegator and the delegatee can efficiently recover each other’s private key in polynomial time without any unrealistic assumptions. In addition, the authors also show how to fix NTRURe Encrypt to resist the proposed attacks. As a by-product, the authors also show how to commit broadcast attacks against NTRU 2001 with even dg, which was thought infeasible before.

In order to effectively defend against the threats of the hypersonic gliding vehicles(HGVs),HGVs should be tracked as early as possible,which is beyond the capability of the ground-based radars.Being benefited by the developing megaconstellations in low-Earth orbit,this paper proposes a relay tracking mode to track HGVs to overcome the above problem.The whole tracking mission is composed of several tracking intervals with the same duration.Within each tracking interval,several appropriate satellites are dispatched to track the HGV.Satellites that are planned to take part in the tracking mission are selected by a new derived observability criterion.The tracking performances of the proposed tracking mode and the other two traditional tracking modes,including the stare and track-rate modes,are compared by simulation.The results show that the relay tracking mode can track the whole trajectory of a HGV,while the stare mode can only provide a very short tracking arc.Moreover,the relay tracking mode achieve higher tracking accuracy with fewer attitude controls than the track-rate mode.

According to the Global Burden of Disease Study 2017,there are 132 million patients with chronic kidney disease(CKD)in China,^([1])and the prevalence of hypertension in Chinese patients with CKD(67.3%)is significantly higher than that in the general population(23.2%).^([2,3])CKD is both a cause and a consequence of hypertension,and these two conditions form a vicious cycle that leads to the high prevalence rate of hypertension in patients with CKD.Uncontrolled hypertension accelerates the deterioration of renal function,which significantly increases the risk of developing end-stage renal disease(ESRD),as well as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases,leading to poor patient outcomes.

Male sexual behavior is an innate social behavior crucial for reproduction[1].Previous studies have identified several brain regions crucial for the control of both sexual and aggressive behaviors in males.Yet,molecularly specified neural circuits that specifically control male sexual behavior remain elusive.Consistent with the inherently rewarding nature of sexual behavior,previous research has implicated the role of the dopamine system in regulating sexual desire[2].However,the interaction between reward and copulation at the circuit level remains largely unexplored.Besides,it is unclear if the associated neural pathways are specific in modulating sexual reward.
