Formation behaviors of rod-like reactive shaped charge penetrator and their effects on damage capability

Formation behaviors of rod-like reactive shaped charge penetrator(RRSCP)and their effects on damage capability are investigated by experiments and numerical simulations.The pulsed X-ray technology and a spaced aluminum/steel plate with the thicknesses of 5 mm/100 mm are used.Three types of sphericalsegment aluminum-polytetrafluoroethylene-copper(Al-PTFE-Cu)reactive liners with Cu contents of 0%,46.6%,and 66%are fabricated and tested.The experimental results show that the reactive liners can form excellent rod-shaped penetrators with tail skirts under the shaped charge effect,but the tail skirts disappear over time.Moreover,rupturing damage to the aluminum plate and penetration to the steel plate are caused by the RRSCP impact.From simulation analysis,the RRSCP is formed by a mechanically and chemically coupled response with the reactive liner activated by shock in its outer walls and bottom and then backward overturning,forming a leading reactive penetrator and a following chemical energy cluster.The unique formation structure determines the damage modes of the aluminum plate and the steel plate.Further analysis indicates that the formation behaviors and damage capability of Al-PTFE-Cu RRSCP strongly depend on Cu content.With increasing Cu content,the velocity,activation extent,and reaction extent of Al-PTFE-Cu RRSCP decrease,which contribute to elongation and alleviate the negative effects of chemical reactions on elongation,significantly increasing the length-diameter ratio and thus enhancing the capability of steel plate penetration.However,the lower activation extent and energetic density will weaken the RRSCP's capability of causing rupturing damage to the aluminum plate.

Enhanced structural damage behavior of liquid-filled tank by reactive material projectile impact

A series of ballistic experiments were performed to investigate the damage behavior of high velocity reactive material projectiles(RMPs) impacting liquid-filled tanks,and the corresponding hydrodynamic ram(HRAM) was studied in detail.PTFE/Al/W RMPs with steel-like and aluminum-like densities were prepared by a pressing/sintering process.The projectiles impacted a liquid-filled steel tank with front aluminum panel at approximately 1250 m/s.The corresponding cavity evolution characteristics and HRAM pressure were recorded by high-speed camera and pressure acquisition system,and further compared to those of steel and aluminum projectiles.Significantly different from the conical cavity formed by the inert metal projectile,the cavity formed by the RMP appeared as an ellipsoid with a conical front.The RMPs were demonstrated to enhance the radial growth velocity of cavity,the global HRAM pressure amplitude and the front panel damage,indicating the enhanced HRAM and structural damage behavior.Furthermore,combining the impact-induced fragmentation and deflagration characteristics,the cavity evolution of RMPs under the combined effect of kinetic energy impact and chemical energy release was analyzed.The mechanism of enhanced HRAM pressure induced by the RMPs was further revealed based on the theoretical model of the initial impact wave and the impulse analysis.Finally,the linear correlation between the deformation-thickness ratio and the non-dimensional impulse for the front panel was obtained and analyzed.It was determined that the enhanced near-field impulse induced by the RMPs was the dominant reason for the enhanced structural damage behavior.

Pathogenic bacteria can proliferate rapidly on porous fabrics to form bacterial plaques/bioflms,resulting in potential sources of cross-transmissions of diseases and increasing cross-infection in public environments.Many works on antibacterial modifcation of cotton fabrics have been reported,while very few works were reported to endow poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET)fabrics with non-leaching antibacterial function without compromising their innate physicochemical properties though PET is the most widely used fabric.Therefore,it is urgent to impart the PET fabrics with non-leaching antibacterial activity.Herein,a novel N-halamine compound,1-chloro-3-benzophenone-5,5-dimethylhydantoin(Cl-BPDMH),was developed to be covalently bonded onto PET fabrics,rendering non-leaching antibacterial activity while negligible cytotoxicity based on contact-killing principle.Bacterial was easily adhered to Cl-BPDMH fnished PET fabrics,and then it was inactivated quickly within 10 s.Furthermore,the breaking strength,breaking elongation,tearing strength,water vapor permeability,air permeability and whiteness of Cl-BPDMH fnished PET fabrics were improved obviously compared to raw PET fabrics.Hence,this work developed a facile approach to fabricate multifunctional synthetic textiles to render outstanding and rapid bactericidal activity without compromising their physicochemical properties and biocompatibility.

The Origin of Mesozoic A-type Granitoids,Fujian Province,Southeast China:Insights from Geochronology,Mineralogy and Geochemistry

The magma sources,origins and precise forming ages of the miarolite from Qishan and Kuiqi intrusions are still uncertain.New results reveal that,miarolites from the Qishan and Kuiqi intrusions yield crystallization ages of~101 and~98 Ma,and they have a high formation temperature(~910℃)and low oxygen fugacity value,indicating crystallization condition at low pressure in the upper crust with temperature of 678℃.The Qishan and Kuiqi miarolites are characterized by enrichment in SiO_(2) and high-K alkali,depletion in Ca and Mg,and belong to the high-K weak peraluminous rock series.The samples are enriched in HFSEs(i.e.,Ta,Zr and Hf)and LILEs(i.e.,Ba,P and Sr),depleted in Ba and Sr with the negative anomaly of Eu.In the primitive mantle normalized trace element spider diagram,the samples show a right-inclined‘seagull-type’pattern,combined the ratios of(La/Yb)_N,10000×Al/Ga,Rb/Nb and Nb/Ta etc.,they were proved to be alkaline A-type granite.Combined the characterize of the trace elements,they were derived from clay-rich source accompanied pelite melting,and subjected to K-feldspar crystallization fractional.The values of ε_(Hf)(t)and tDM2 are distributed in the range of-2.8 to 3.3 with~1.2 Ga,and-6.0 to 4.0 with~1.2 Ga,revealing that they were generated from the Mesoproterozoic Cathaysia basement rocks.The comprehensive research reveals the Kuiqi and Qishan intrusions derived from crust-mantle mixing and partial melting of the crust,respectively,resulting from lithospheric extension generated by the Paleo-Pacific Plate subducted into the European-Asian Plate.

Au@Ag-labeled SERS lateral flow assay for highly sensitive detection of allergens in milk

Casein andα-lactalbumin(α-LA)are the main allergens in cow's milk,which can affect the skin,respiratory system,and gastrointestinal tract,even cause anaphylactic shock.Developing a rapid and sensitive detection method of casein andα-LA is still pursued.Herein,a surface-enhanced Raman scattering based lateral flow assay(SERS-LFA)method for rapid and highly sensitive detection of milk allergens in food was established for effectively preventing allergic symptoms.Gold@silver nanoparticles(Au@Ag NPs)were synthesized as SERS active substrate to prepare the antibody-modified SERS Probe and SERS-LFA strips toward casein andα-LA were assembled according to the sandwich mode.The detection results were calculated according to colorimetric and Raman signal.The introduction of SRES signal significantly increased the sensitivity of detection with the limit of detection(LOD)of 0.19 ng/mL and 1.74 pg/mL,and exhibited an excellent linear relationship within the range of 0.55-791.50 ng/mL and 0.1 pg/mL-100.0 ng/mL for casein andα-LA,respectively.Furthermore,SERS-LFA strips was highly specific with the recovery rates for corresponding80.36%-105.12%and 85.73%-118.22%for casein andα-LA,respectively.Therefore,the SERS-LFA could be in great potential to develop a unique allergen detection method.

Selenium-enriched and ordinary green tea extracts prevent high blood pressure and alter gut microbiota composition of hypertensive rats caused by high-salt diet

High-salt diet is well recognized as a risk factor for hypertension,and dietary intervention plays a critical role in the prevention of hypertension.The current study investigated the effects of selenium-enriched green tea(Se-GT)and ordinary green tea(GT)on prevention of hypertension of rats induced by high-salt diet,as well as their potential regulatory and mechanism.Our results showed that GT and Se-GT supplementations significantly prevented the increase of blood pressure(BP),activated the phosphoinosmde-3-kinase/protein kinase B(PI3K/Akt)signaling pathway,and regulated the gene expression related to BP,as well as improved the tissue damage like heart,liver,and kidneys.Besides,the key parameters associated with oxidative stress,inflammation and endothelial dysfunction were also altered by GT and Se-GT treatments.Importantly,GT or Se-GT administration adjusted the diversity and composition of the intestinal flora.Moreover,GT and Se-GT supplementations increased the abundance of beneficial bacteria and reduced the abundance of harmful or conditional pathogenic bacteria.More specifically,GT intake specifically and significantly enriched the relative abundance of Paraprevotella and Bacteroides,whereas Se-GT was characterized by specific and significant enrichment for Allobaculum and Bifidobacterium.Our results proved that dietary supplement of GT and Se-GT remarkably improved the vascular functions and effectively prevented tissue damage by regulation of intestinal flora,and thus preventing hypertension induced by high-salt diet.

Some haplotypes of the sucrose synthase gene TaSus1 are associated with thousand-grain weight(TGW)in wheat(Triticum aestivum L.).However,no mutations have been identified within the gene to test this association.The effects of TaSus1 on grain number per spike(GNS)also are largely unknown.Our previous genome-wide association study identified TaSus-A1 as a candidate gene controlling fertile spikelet number per spike(FSN).In the present study,we generated two independent mutants for the three TaSus1 homoeologs by CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing.The triple mutants displayed lower FSN,GNS,grain number per spikelet(GNST),and TGW than wild-type plants.In 306 hexaploid wheat accessions,two single-nucleotide polymorphisms in TaSus-A1 contributed differently to GNS.Introgression of the two alleles into a wheat genetic background confirmed their effects.The alleles differed in geographical distribution among the accessions.

Chitosan(CS)is the only natural alkaline polysaccharide originated from deacetylation of chitin that is the main component of shell from marine organisms.It has great potential medical application due to its broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity and good water solubility originated from its protonated amino groups under acidic condition and abundant hydroxyl groups.However,unprotonated NH_(2)group of CS leads to its poor solubility under physiological condition and limits its diverse applications.Therefore,it is highly necessary to summarize the modification strategies of CS derivatives systematically to help researchers select the most appropriate strategies for their specific applications.Herein,we have summarized the modification strategies of CS derivatives for improving their antimicrobial activity,water solubility,biocompatibility,and mechanical property by chemical reaction and physical integration.And then we have reviewed the CS derivatives in hydrogels,nanoparticles,or coatings for medical application in wound dressing,drug delivery,medical implant.Last but not the least,we have put forward the future perspectives of deep studies about structure-activity relationship and clinical applications of CS derivatives.
