We demonstrate an all-polarization-maintaining(APM)fiber mode-locked laser based on nonlinear polarization evolution(NPE).A well-designed Sagnac fiber loop is employed to establish the nonlinear polarization evolution process in a polarization beam splitter(PBS)figure-8 fiber *** loss curves are calculated to verify the saturable absorption characteristic of this NPE-based APM ***,we simulate the pulse propagation process in the cavity to demonstrate the pulse mode-locked ***,we also design a realizable compact scheme to further reduce noise disturbances,achieving a 101-fs mode-locked pulse train with a 0.3-mrad integrated phase noise and a 0.006%integrated relative intensity noise(RIN).This figure-8 fiber laser provides a new scheme for compacting low-noise compact APM fiber lasers based on the NPE mode-locked mechanism.

The mid-infrared optical frequency comb is a powerful tool for gas *** this study,we demonstrate a simple midinfrared dual-comb spectrometer covering 3±4μm in Li Nb *** on a low-power fiber laser system,the mid-infrared comb is achieved via intra-pulse difference frequency generation in the Li Nb O3 *** construct pre-chirp management before supercontinuum generation to control spatiotemporal alignment for pump and signal *** supercontinuum is directly coupled into a chirped periodically poled Li Nb O3 waveguide for the 3±4μm idler generation.A mid-infrared dual-comb spectrometer based on this approach provides a 100 MHz resolution over25 THz *** evaluate the applicability for spectroscopy,we measure the methane spectrum using the dualcomb *** measured results are consistent with the HITRAN database,in which the root mean square of the residual is 3.2%.This proposed method is expected to develop integrated and robust mid-infrared dual-comb spectrometers on chip for sensing.

Dual-comb spectroscopy(DCS)has revolutionized numerous spectroscopic applications due to its high spectral resolution and fast measurement *** efforts have been made to obtain a coherent dual-comb source at various spectral regions through nonlinear frequency conversion,where the preservation of coherence has become a problem of great *** this study,we report the generation of coherent dual-comb sources covering from the ultraviolet to mid-infrared region based on high-order harmonic *** by high-repetition-rate femtosecond mid-infrared dual-comb pump pulses,up to ninth-order harmonic was generated from the ultraviolet to mid-infrared region using an aperiodically poled lithium niobate *** investigate the coherence property of the high-order harmonic generation,DCS was performed at every generated spectral region from 450 to 3600 *** measured dual-comb spectra with distinctive tooth-resolved structures show the well-preserved coherence without apparent degradation after the cascaded quadratic nonlinear *** subsequent methane absorption spectroscopy at multiple spectral regions of different harmonics was carried out to characterize the spectroscopic capability of the *** results demonstrate the potential of our scheme to generate compact and coherent broadband optical frequency combs for simultaneous multi-target detections.

The determination of airflow parameters is essential to the research of critical information on environment monitoring,chemical kinetics,and aerodynamic and propulsion *** the past few decades,tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy has become a common and efficient tool for the flow velocity measurement based on the Doppler shift of the absorption ***-comb absorption spectroscopy(DCAS),as a state-of-theart Fourier-transform broadband spectroscopic technique,not only can detect multiple trace molecules in parallel but also can extract Doppler shifts to derive the flow velocity through the analysis of dozens of molecular absorption lines simultaneously with high ***,we report a proof-of-principle demonstration of the velocity measurements of acetylene at various flow velocities by means of a high-resolution and broadband ***-resolved Doppler-shifted rotational-vibrational lines in the P branch of acetylene molecules are obtained.A model for multiline Doppler frequency determination is investigated and experimentally *** flow velocity measurements with a measuring uncertainty down to the submeter per second over the range from 8.7 m/s to 44.8 m/s at an effective time resolution of 1 s and a measuring uncertainty of 1.97 m/s at 0.1 s are *** broadband mid-infrared frequency combs covering atmospheric transmission windows,the open-path measurement for monitoring diffusion of the weak pollutant source would be realized.

Mid-infrared dual-comb spectroscopy is of great interest owing to the strong spectroscopic features of trace gases,biological molecules,and solid matter with higher resolution,accuracy,and acquisition speed. However,the prerequisite of achieving high coherence of optical sources with the use of bulk sophisticated control systems prevents their widespread use in field applications. Here we generate a highly mutually coherent dual midinfrared comb spectrometer based on the optical–optical modulation of a continuous-wave (CW) interband or quantum cascade laser. Mutual coherence was passively achieved without post-data processes or active carrier envelope phase-locking processes. The center wavelength of the generated mid-infrared frequency combs can be flexibly tuned by adjusting the wavelength of the CW seeds. The parallel detection of multiple molecular species,including C_(2)H_(2),CH_(4),H_(2)CO,H_(2)S,COS,and H_(2)O,was achieved. This technique provides a stable and robust dual-comb spectrometer that will find nonlaboratory applications including open-path atmospheric gas sensing,industrial process monitoring,and combustion.

Formation behaviors of rod-like reactive shaped charge penetrator(RRSCP)and their effects on damage capability are investigated by experiments and numerical *** pulsed X-ray technology and a spaced aluminum/steel plate with the thicknesses of 5 mm/100 mm are *** types of sphericalsegment aluminum-polytetrafluoroethylene-copper(Al-PTFE-Cu)reactive liners with Cu contents of 0%,46.6%,and 66%are fabricated and *** experimental results show that the reactive liners can form excellent rod-shaped penetrators with tail skirts under the shaped charge effect,but the tail skirts disappear over ***,rupturing damage to the aluminum plate and penetration to the steel plate are caused by the RRSCP *** simulation analysis,the RRSCP is formed by a mechanically and chemically coupled response with the reactive liner activated by shock in its outer walls and bottom and then backward overturning,forming a leading reactive penetrator and a following chemical energy *** unique formation structure determines the damage modes of the aluminum plate and the steel *** analysis indicates that the formation behaviors and damage capability of Al-PTFE-Cu RRSCP strongly depend on Cu *** increasing Cu content,the velocity,activation extent,and reaction extent of Al-PTFE-Cu RRSCP decrease,which contribute to elongation and alleviate the negative effects of chemical reactions on elongation,significantly increasing the length-diameter ratio and thus enhancing the capability of steel plate ***,the lower activation extent and energetic density will weaken the RRSCP's capability of causing rupturing damage to the aluminum plate.

The magma sources,origins and precise forming ages of the miarolite from Qishan and Kuiqi intrusions are still *** results reveal that,miarolites from the Qishan and Kuiqi intrusions yield crystallization ages of~101 and~98 Ma,and they have a high formation temperature(~910℃)and low oxygen fugacity value,indicating crystallization condition at low pressure in the upper crust with temperature of 678℃.The Qishan and Kuiqi miarolites are characterized by enrichment in SiO_(2) and high-K alkali,depletion in Ca and Mg,and belong to the high-K weak peraluminous rock *** samples are enriched in HFSEs(i.e.,Ta,Zr and Hf)and LILEs(i.e.,Ba,P and Sr),depleted in Ba and Sr with the negative anomaly of *** the primitive mantle normalized trace element spider diagram,the samples show a right-inclined‘seagull-type’pattern,combined the ratios of(La/Yb)_(N),10000×Al/Ga,Rb/Nb and Nb/Ta etc.,they were proved to be alkaline A-type *** the characterize of the trace elements,they were derived from clay-rich source accompanied pelite melting,and subjected to K-feldspar crystallization *** values of ε_(Hf)(t)and tDM2 are distributed in the range of-2.8 to 3.3 with~1.2 Ga,and-6.0 to 4.0 with~1.2 Ga,revealing that they were generated from the Mesoproterozoic Cathaysia basement *** comprehensive research reveals the Kuiqi and Qishan intrusions derived from crust-mantle mixing and partial melting of the crust,respectively,resulting from lithospheric extension generated by the Paleo-Pacific Plate subducted into the European-Asian Plate.

Enhanced structural damage behavior of liquid-filled tank by reactive material projectile impact

A series of ballistic experiments were performed to investigate the damage behavior of high velocity reactive material projectiles(RMPs) impacting liquid-filled tanks,and the corresponding hydrodynamic ram(HRAM) was studied in ***/Al/W RMPs with steel-like and aluminum-like densities were prepared by a pressing/sintering *** projectiles impacted a liquid-filled steel tank with front aluminum panel at approximately 1250 m/*** corresponding cavity evolution characteristics and HRAM pressure were recorded by high-speed camera and pressure acquisition system,and further compared to those of steel and aluminum *** different from the conical cavity formed by the inert metal projectile,the cavity formed by the RMP appeared as an ellipsoid with a conical *** RMPs were demonstrated to enhance the radial growth velocity of cavity,the global HRAM pressure amplitude and the front panel damage,indicating the enhanced HRAM and structural damage ***,combining the impact-induced fragmentation and deflagration characteristics,the cavity evolution of RMPs under the combined effect of kinetic energy impact and chemical energy release was *** mechanism of enhanced HRAM pressure induced by the RMPs was further revealed based on the theoretical model of the initial impact wave and the impulse ***,the linear correlation between the deformation-thickness ratio and the non-dimensional impulse for the front panel was obtained and *** was determined that the enhanced near-field impulse induced by the RMPs was the dominant reason for the enhanced structural damage behavior.

Drug repurposing offers a valuable strategy for identifying new therapeutic applications for existing ***,disulfiram(DSF),a drug primarily used for alcohol addiction treatment,has emerged as a potential treatment for inflammatory diseases by inhibiting pyroptosis,a form of programmed cell *** therapeutic activity of DSF can be further enhanced by the presence of Cu^(2+),although the underlying mechanism of this enhancement remains *** this study,we investigated the mechanistic basis of Cu^(2+)-induced enhancement and discovered that it is attributed to the formation of a novel copper ethylthiocarbamate(CuET)*** exhibited significantly stronger anti-pyroptotic activity compared to DSF and employed a distinct mechanism of ***,despite its potent activity,CuET suffered from poor solubility and limited permeability,as revealed by our druggability *** overcome these intrinsic limitations,we developed a scalable method to prepare CuET nanocrystals(CuET NCs)using a metal coordination-driven self-assembly *** studies demonstrated that CuET NCs exhibited a 6-fold improvement in ***,CuET NCs exhibited high biodistribution in the intestine,suggesting their potential application for the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases(IBDs).To evaluate their therapeutic efficacy in vivo,we employed a murine model of DSS-induced colitis and observed that CuET NCs effectively attenuated inflammation and ameliorated colitis *** findings highlight the discovery of CuET as a potent anti-pyroptotic agent,and the development of CuET NCs represents a novel approach to enhance the druggability of CuET.
