Microstructure and mechanical properties of Co-28Cr-6Mo-0.22C investment castings by current solution treatment

This study examined the impact of current solution treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the Co-28Cr-6Mo-0.22C alloy investment *** findings reveal that the current solution treatment significantly promotes the dissolution of carbides at a lower *** optimal conditions for solution treatment are determined as a solution temperature of 1,125°C and a holding time of 5.0 *** these parameters,the size and volume fraction of precipitated phases in the investment castings are measured as6.2μm and 1.1vol.%.The yield strength,ultimate tensile strength,and total elongation of the Co-28Cr-6Mo-0.22C investment castings are 535 MPa,760 MPa,and 12.6%,*** values exceed those obtained with the conventional solution treatment at 1,200°C for 4.0 *** findings suggest a phase transformation of M_(23)C_(6)→σ+C following the current solution treatment at 1,125°C for 5.0 *** comparison,the traditional solution treatment at 1,200°C for 4.0 h leads to the formation of M_(23)C_(6)and M_(6)C *** is noteworthy that the non-thermal effect of the current during the solution treatment modifies the free energy of both the matrix and precipitation *** modification lowers the phase transition temperature of the M_(23)C_(6)→σ+C reaction,thereby facilitating the dissolution of *** a result,the current solution treatment approach achieves carbide dissolution at a lower temperature and within a significantly shorter time when compared to the traditional solution treatment methods.

Thermal stable intermetallic particles are important for the heat resistance of magnesium(Mg)*** this work,many lath-like particles formed in α-Mg grains of a Mg-8Gd-3Sm-0.7Al casting alloy when heat-treated at 873 ***-resolution high-angle annular dark field scanning transmission electron microscopy(HAADF-STEM) characterizations indicate that most of them are Mg-containing Al_(2)(Gd,Sm),with the atomic ratio of Mg:Al:(Gd,Sm) being ~1:1:1;a small part of them with relatively wider thickness are long-period stacking ordered(LPSO) phases simultaneously containing both 14H and 18R *** followed common orientation relationships with Mg matrix as those reported in previous *** addition,many Mg laths were observed in the primary blocky Al_(2)(Gd,Sm) phase at grain boundaries,where the atomic ratio of Al:(Gd,Sm) in the Al_(2)(Gd,Sm) matrix was 2:***,density functional theory(DFT) calculations illustrated the detail structure of the re-constructed Mg/Al_(2)RE interface and simultaneously deduced the underlying reason for the re-dissolution of the newly formed Mg-containing Al_(2)(Gd,Sm) plates in α-Mg matrix.

The adenosine monophosphate(AMP)-activated protein kinase(AMPK)sits at a cen-tral node in the regulation of energy metabolism and tumor *** is best known to sense high cellular ADP or AMP levels,which indicate the depletion of energy *** studies have shown that the low expression of phosphorylated AMPK is associated with a poor prognosis of pancreatic *** this study,we report that AMPK is also highly sensitive to extracellular matrix(ECM)*** found that AMPK is activated in cells when cultured under low ECM stiffness conditions and is functionally required for the metabolic switch induced by ECM *** regulation of AMPK requires the Hippo kinases but not LKB1/*** kinases directly phosphorylate AMPKa at Thr172 to activate AMPK at low ECM ***,we found AMPK activity is inhibited in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)with high ECM stiffness and is associated with a poor survival *** activation of Hippo kinases by ROCK inhibitor Y-27632 in combination with the mitochondrial inhibitor metformin synergistically activates AMPK and dramatically inhibits PDAC ***,these findings establish a novel model for AMPK regulation by the mechanical properties of ECMs and provide a rationale for simultaneously targeting the ECM stiffness-Hippo kinases-AMPK signaling and low glucose-LKB1-AMPK signaling pathways as an effective therapeutic strategy against PDAC.

Easy non-radiative decay property of long-lived triplet excitons in aqueous solution obstructs their applications in aquatic *** reported phosphorescence phenomena in aqueous solution have excited researchers enormously but achieving full-color water-soluble phosphorescent carbon nanodots(CNDs)is still a challenging ***,full-color phosphorescence of water-soluble CNDs has been demonstrated by triggering their triplet excitons through nanospace domain confinement,and Förster energy resonance transfer is used for further tuning phosphorescence *** phosphorescence spans across most of the visible spectrum,ranging from 400 to 700 *** an aqueous solution,the CNDs exhibits blue,green,and red phosphorescence,lasting for approximately 6,10,and 7 s,***,the phosphorescence quantum yields are 11.85%,8.6%and 3.56%,making them readily discernible to the naked eyes and laying a solid foundation for practical ***,phosphorescence flexible optical display and bioimaging have been demonstrated by using the multicolor CNDs-based nanomaterials,showing distinct superiority for accuracy and complete display and imaging in complex emission background.

An electron-transfer[Fe_(2)Co_(2)]square complex exhibiting unprecedented wide room-temperature hysteresis

Switchable molecules with magnetic bistability that can function at standard conditions are highly desirable from the perspective of practical *** the last decade,significant progress has been made in modulating thermally induced electrontransfer-coupled spin transition(ETCST)events between diamagnetic{Fe_(LS)^(Ⅱ)(μ-CN)Co_(LS)^(Ⅲ)}and paramagnetic{Fe_(LS)^(Ⅲ)(μ-CN)-Co_(HS)^(Ⅱ)}electron configurations(named LS and HS,respectively,for short)within the Fe/Co mixed-valence cyanometallate ***,we prepared a novel[Fe_(2)Co_(2)]square complex[(pzTp)Fe(CN)_(3)Co(bnbpen)]_(2)[NO_(3)]_(2)·4CH_(3)OH·2.5H_(2)O(1·Solv)and its desolvated phase[(pzTp)Fe(CN)_(3)Co(bnbpen)]_(2)[NO_(3)]_(2)(1),obtained via single-crystal-to-single-crystal(SCSC)*** 1·Solv remaining in the diamagnetic state below room temperature exhibits an irreversible ETCST behavior accompanied by desolvation upon ***,complex 1 displays an unprecedented rate-dependent ETCST behaviour involving with two diamagnetic LS states(a dynamically favoured LS1 state and a thermodynamically favoured LS2state),between which a net one-way transition from LS1 to LS2 is accessible likely via a structural phase transition(SPT)above255 ***,two well separated transition channels(HS?LS1 at around 255 K and HS←→LS2 in the temperature range of 317-350 K)are achieved according to either fast(>20 K/min)or slow rate(<1 K/min),*** a moderate rate of 3 K/min,complex 1 shows a wide hysteresis of 66 K centered at 328 K,the largest yet reported for discrete Fe/Co cyanometallate *** 1 represents the first ETCST example coupled with dynamic SPT,providing a new strategy for manipulating bistability within this fascinating cyanometallate family.

Competition of Composition Fluctuation Modes in Weakly Segregated Salt-doped Symmetric Diblock Copolymers

Salt-doped block copolymers have widespread applications in batteries,fuel cells,semiconductors,and various industries,where their properties crucially depend on phase separation ***,investigations into salt-doped diblock copolymers have predominantly focused on microphase separation,overlooking the segregation between ionic and polymeric *** study employs weak segregation theory to explore the interplay between phase separation dominated by the polymer-modulated mode and the salt-out-modulated mode,corresponding to microscopic and macroscopic phase separations,*** comparing diblock copolymers doped with salts to those doped with neutral solvents,we elucidate the significant role of charged species in modulating phase *** phase separation mode exhibits a transition between the polymer-modulated and salt-out-modulated modes at different *** systems doped with neutral solvents,this transition is stepwise,while in salt-ion-doped systems,it is *** a sufficiently large Flory-Huggins parameter between ions and polymers,the salt-out-modulated mode becomes dominant,promoting macrophase *** to the solvation effect of salt ions,salt-doped systems are more inclined to undergo microphase ***,we explore factors influencing the critical wavenumber of phase separation,including doping level and the Flory-Huggins parameters between two blocks and between ions and polymeric *** findings reveal that in a neutral solvent environment,these factors alter only the boundary between micro-and macro-phase separations,leaving the critical wavenumber unchanged in microphase separation ***,in a salt-doped environment,the critical wavenumber of microphase separation varies with these *** provides valuable insights into the pivotal role of electrostatics in the phase separation of salt-doped block copolymers.

An Effective Approach for the Preparation of High Performance Thermal Conductive Polymer Composites Containing Liquid Metal

The preparation of high-performance thermal conductive composites containing liquid metals(LM)has attracted significant ***,the stable dispersion of LM within polymer solution and effective property contribution of liquid metals remains significant challenges that need to be *** by the properties of the dendritic structure of the tree root system in grasping the soil,“shear-induced precipitation-interfacial reset-reprotonation”processing strategy is proposed to prepare nanocomposites based on aramid micron fibers(AMFs)with hierarchical dendritic *** to the combination of van der Waals force provided by hierarchical dendritic structure,electrostatic interaction between AMFs and LM,coordinative bonding of―NH to LM,together with interfacial re-setting and multi-step protonation,several features can be achieved through such strategy:conducive to the local filler network construction,improvement of interfacial interaction,improvement of the stability of filler dispersion in the solvent,and enhancement of mechanical and thermal properties of the *** resulting AMFsp H=4/LM films demonstrate a thermal conductivity of 10.98 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)at 70%filler content,improvement of 126.8%compared to ANFs/LM film;while maintaining a strength of~85.88 MPa,improvement of 77%compared to AMFs/LM *** also possess insulation properties,enable heat dissipation for high power *** work provides an effective strategy for the preparation of high performance polymer composites containing liquid metal.

(Benzimidazolium)2GeI4:A layered two-dimensional perovskite with dielectric switching and broadband near-infrared photoluminescence

Two-dimensional(2D)lead halide perovskites have attracted tremendous attention due to their outstanding physical ***,the presence of toxic lead is a major problem for large-scale ***,we report the synthesis,phase transition,dielectric and photoluminescence(PL)properties of a lead-free 2D Ge-based perovskite(BIM)2GeI4(BIM=benzimidazolium)which experiences a phase transition at 405 K accompanied by an order-disorder change of organic ***,the step-like dielectric transition near the phase transition temperature makes it suitable for dielectric ***,(BIM)2GeI4 has a direct bandgap of 2.23 eV and broadband emission from 550 to 1000 nm,implying its unique optical property for potential near-infrared lighting and *** work provides a fresh example for the development of lead-free 2D Ge-based perovskite with potential applications in the fields of optoelectronics and high temperature dielectric switching.

Nonlinear robust adaptive control for bidirectional stabilization system of all-electric tank with unknown actuator backlash compensation and disturbance estimation

Since backlash nonlinearity is inevitably existing in actuators for bidirectional stabilization system of allelectric tank,it behaves more drastically in high maneuvering *** this work,the accurate tracking control for bidirectional stabilization system of moving all-electric tank with actuator backlash and unmodeled disturbance is *** utilizing the smooth adaptive backlash inverse model,a nonlinear robust adaptive feedback control scheme is *** unknown parameters and unmodelled disturbance are addressed separately through the derived parametric adaptive function and the continuous nonlinear robust *** the unknown backlash parameters are updated via adaptive function and the backlash effect can be suppressed successfully by inverse operation,which ensures the system ***,the system disturbance in the high maneuverable environment can be estimated with the constructed adaptive law online improving the engineering ***,Lyapunov-based analysis proves that the developed controller can ensure the tracking error asymptotically converges to zero even with unmodeled disturbance and unknown actuator *** co-simulations and experiments illustrate the advantages of the proposed approach.

Synthesis of multifunctional additives for solid propellants:Structure,properties and mechanism

To simplify the composite propellant formulation and address the current issue of the single-functionality present in existing additives,the multi-cyano,amine-based polybutadiene(AEHTPB-CN)was prepared based on AEHTPB by adopting appropriate synthesis *** replacing 10% of HTPB binder in the propellant formulation,it can effectively enhance the interfacial bond strength between the propellant binder matrix and solid fillers(AP(ammonium perchlorate)and RDX(cyclotrimethylene-trinitramine)),the mechanical properties of the HTPB/AP/RDX/Al propellant were superior to blank control propellant with an improvement of 35.4% in tensile strength,62.0% enhancement in elongation at break,and reduce the propellant burn rate by 10.7% with any energy *** function mechanism of AEHTPB-CN was systematically elucidated through experiments and computer simulation *** results show that the tertiary amine group in AEHTPB-CN can react with AP to form ammonium ionic bonds,and the hydroxyl and cyano groups can form hydrogen bonding interactions with AP,which enables AEHTPB-CN to be firmly adsorbed on the AP surface through chemical and physical *** RDX,the interfacial bonding effect of AEHTPB-CN is attributed to their ability to form C-H···N≡C weak hydrogen bonding interaction between the cyano group and RDX methylene group.
