Effect of supports on the redox performance of pyrite cinder in chemical looping combustion

Chemical looping combustion(CLC)is a clean and efficient flame-free combustion technology,which combust the fuels by lattice oxygen from a solid oxygen carrier with inherent CO_(2)*** development of oxygen carriers with low cost and high redox performance is crucial to the whole efficiency of CLC *** the solid by-product from the sulfuric acid production,pyrite cinder presented excellent redox performance as an oxygen carrier in CLC *** main components in pyrite cinder are Fe_(2)O_(3),CaSO_(4),Al_(2)O_(3)and SiO_(2)in which Fe_(2)O_(3)is the active component to provide lattice *** order to systematic investigate the functions of supports(CaSO_4,Al_(2)O_(3)and SiO_(2))in pyrite cinder,three oxygen carriers(Fe_(2)O_(3)-CaSO_(4),Fe_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)and Fe_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2))were prepared and evaluated in this *** results showed that Fe_(2)O_(3)-CaSO_(4) displayed high redox activity and cycling stability in the multiple redox ***,both Fe_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)and Fe_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)experienced serious deactivation during redox *** indicated that the inert Fe-Si solid solution(Fe_(2)SiO_(4))was formed in the spent Fe_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)sample,which decreased the oxygen carrying capacity of this *** XPS results showed that the oxygen species on the surface of Fe_(2)O_(3)-CaSO_(4) could be fully recovered after the 20 redox *** can be concluded that CaSO_(4) is the key to the high redox activity and cycling stability of pyrite cinder.

Effects of creep characteristics of natural gas hydrate-bearing sediments on wellbore stability

Natural gas hydrate(NGH)reservoirs consist of the types of sediments with weak cementation,low strength,high plasticity,and high *** on the kinetics and thermodynamic characteristics of NGH decomposition,herein a heat-fluid-solid coupling model was established for studying the wellbore stability in an NGH-bearing formation to analyze the effects of the creep characteristics of NGH-bearing sediments during long-term *** results demonstrated that the creep characteristics of sediments resulted in larger plastic yield range,thus aggravating the plastic strain accumulation around the ***,the creep characteristics of NGH-bearing sediments could enhance the effects induced by the difference in horizontal in situ stress,as a result,the plastic strain in the formation around the wellbore increased nonlinearly with increasing difference in in situ *** lower the pore pressure,the greater the stress concentration effects and the higher the plastic strain at the ***,the lower the initial NGH saturation,the greater the initial plastic strain and yield range and the higher the equivalent creep *** plastic strain at the wellbore increased nonlinearly with decreasing initial saturation.

Recycling of High Ferrous Bauxite Reducing Slag for Synthesis of CaAl_2Si_2O_8-Al_2O_3-CaAl_(12)O_(19) Composite

CaAl2 Si2 O8- Al2 O3- CaAl12 O19）（CAS2- Al2 O3 -CA6 ） composite was synthesized through reaction sintering alumina and bauxite reducing slag. The CAS2-Al2 O3-CA5 composite was mainly composed of α-Al2O3 , CAS2 , and CA6. Gehlenite （Ca2 Al2 SiO7 , C2 AS） phase was effectively transformed to CASe and CA6 through high-temperature reaction sintering under weak oxidizing atmosphere at 1400 ℃for 4 h. SEM （scanning electron microscopy） and EDS （energy dispersive spectroscopy） analysis indicated that black and needle-shaped Al2O3, rhombic or irregular polygonal shaped FeAl2O4 , and glassy phase Ca2 Al2 SiO7 disappeared after the reaction sintering. The light gray and flaky hexagon crystals of CaAl12 O19 （10 μm） and the grainy particles of Al2O3 （2-7 μm） were observed in the CASe-Al2 O3-CA6 composite. The gray crystals of CASe act as the binding phase and are distributed around CA6 and Al2O3. CAS2-Al2O3-CA6 composite exhibits high refractoriness and service temperature, which are 1 650 ℃ and 1 450 ℃, respectively. Reaction sintering of alumina and bauxite reducing slag is a feasible method for the synthesis of CAS2-Al2 O3-CA6 composite.

Load balancing routing for single-layered satellite networks

The varying population density leads to imbalanced utilization rate of satellites. To ensure an intelligent engineering of traffic over satellite networks, a distributed routing scheme for single-layered satellite network, load balancing routing protocol based on mobile agent （LBRP-MA） is proposed. For LBRP-MA, mobile agents explore route by migrating autonomously. Upon arriving at destination, mobile agents migrate back. On each intermediate satellite, mobile agents evaluate path cost considering satellite geographical position as well as inter-satellite link （ISL） cost, and finally take ISL congestion index into account to update routing tables. Through simulations on the Courier-like constellation, the proposed approach is shown to achieve guaranteed end-to-end delay bound and decrease packet loss ratio with better throughput, which is especially suitable for data transferring in case of high traffic load. Moreover, results of the complexity analysis demonstrate that LBRP-MA can have low onboard signaling, storage and computation requirements. Furthermore, issues of LBRP-MA such as ISL congestion index and cost modification factor are discussed.

SAND: semi-automated adaptive network defense via programmable rule generation and deployment

Cyber security is dynamic as defenders often need to adapt their defense postures. The state-ofthe-art is that the adaptation of network defense is done manually(i.e., tedious and error-prone). The ideal solution is to automate adaptive network defense, which is however a difficult problem. As a first step towards automation, we propose investigating how to attain semi-automated adaptive network defense(SAND). We propose an approach extending the architecture of software-defined networking, which is centered on providing defenders with the capability to program the generation and deployment of dynamic defense rules enforced by network defense tools. We present the design and implementation of SAND, as well as the evaluation of the prototype implementation. Experimental results show that SAND can achieve agile and effective dynamic adaptations of defense rules(less than 15 ms on average for each operation), while only incurring a small performance overhead.

Numerical Simulation of the Three-Dimensional Wave-Induced Currents on Unstructured Grid

By coupling the three-dimensional hydrodynamic model with the wave model, numerical simulations of the three- dimensional wave-induced current are carried out in this study. The wave model is based on the numerical solution of the modified wave action equation and eikonal equation, which can describe the wave refraction and diffraction. The hydrodynamic model is driven by the wave-induced radiation stresses and affected by the wave turbulence. The numerical implementation of the module has used the finite-volume schemes on unstructured grid, which provides great flexibility for modeling the waves and currents in the complex actual nearshore, and ensures the conservation of energy propagation. The applicability of the proposed model is evaluated in calculating the cases of wave set-up, longshore currents, undertow on a sloping beach, rip currents and meandering longshore currents on a tri-cuspate beach. The results indicate that it is necessary to introduce the depth-dependent radiation stresses into the numerical simulation of wave-induced currents, and comparisons show that the present model makes better prediction on the wave procedure as well as both horizontal and vertical structures in the wave-induced current field.

Efficacy and moderating factors of the Early Start Denver Model in Chinese toddlers with autism spectrum disorder:a longitudinal study

Background Several studies have shown the effectiveness of the Early Start Denver Model(ESDM),but few studies have explored the long-term efficacy of *** study aimed to explore the efficacy and moderating factors of ESDM in Chinese toddlers with autism spectrum disorder(ASD)in a longitudinal *** A total of 60 toddlers with ASD were recruited and randomly divided into two groups:ESDM group all received 24 weeks intervention;Control group were waiting for *** assessment(T0)was conducted before intervention,including Gesell Developmental Scale(GDS)and Psycho-educational Profile-3rd Edition(PEP-3).All toddlers with ASD were examined in the first assessment(T1)at 6 months and in the second assessment(T2)at 12 *** In T1 assessment,the increments in speech and personal communication development quotient in GDS were significantly larger in the ESDM group than in the control group(P=0.010,0.047).In T2 assessment,the ESDM group had higher elevation in cognitive verbal/preverbal(CVP),social reciprocity and characteristic verbal behaviors assessed by PEP-3(P=0.021,0.046,0.014).In addition,the severity of stereotyped behavior was negatively associated with improvement in *** income was positively associated with improvement in speech and CVP(all P<0.05).Conclusions ESDM can effectively improve speech and communication in toddlers with ASD after 24-week *** importantly,ESDM can promote cognition and social interaction and can reduce stereotyped verbal behavior in toddlers with ASD in longitudinal *** severity of stereotyped behavior and family ecological factors may be considered as affecting the efficacy of ESDM.

Anodal Transcranial Direct-Current Stimulation Over the Right Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex Influences Emotional Face Perception

The dorsolateral prefrontal cortex （DLPFC） is considered to play a crucial role in many high-level functions, such as cognitive control and emotional regula- tion. Many studies have reported that the DLPFC can be activated during the processing of emotional information in tasks requiring working memory. However, it is still not clear whether modulating the activity of the DLPFC influences emotional perception in a detection task. In the present study, using transcranial direct-current stimulation （tDCS）, we investigated （I） whether modulating the right DLPFC influences emotional face processing in a detection task, and （2） whether the DLPFC plays equal roles in processing positive and negative emotional faces. The results showed that anodal tDCS over the right DLPFC specifically facilitated the perception of positive faces, but did not influence the processing of negative faces. In addition, anodal tDCS over the right primary visual cortex enhanced performance in the detection task regardless of emotional valence. Our findings suggest, for the first time,that modulating the right DLPFC influences emotional face perception, especially faces showing positive emotion.
