An electron-transfer[Fe_(2)Co_(2)]square complex exhibiting unprecedented wide room-temperature hysteresis

Switchable molecules with magnetic bistability that can function at standard conditions are highly desirable from the perspective of practical *** the last decade,significant progress has been made in modulating thermally induced electrontransfer-coupled spin transition(ETCST)events between diamagnetic{Fe_(LS)^(Ⅱ)(μ-CN)Co_(LS)^(Ⅲ)}and paramagnetic{Fe_(LS)^(Ⅲ)(μ-CN)-Co_(HS)^(Ⅱ)}electron configurations(named LS and HS,respectively,for short)within the Fe/Co mixed-valence cyanometallate ***,we prepared a novel[Fe_(2)Co_(2)]square complex[(pzTp)Fe(CN)_(3)Co(bnbpen)]_(2)[NO_(3)]_(2)·4CH_(3)OH·2.5H_(2)O(1·Solv)and its desolvated phase[(pzTp)Fe(CN)_(3)Co(bnbpen)]_(2)[NO_(3)]_(2)(1),obtained via single-crystal-to-single-crystal(SCSC)*** 1·Solv remaining in the diamagnetic state below room temperature exhibits an irreversible ETCST behavior accompanied by desolvation upon ***,complex 1 displays an unprecedented rate-dependent ETCST behaviour involving with two diamagnetic LS states(a dynamically favoured LS1 state and a thermodynamically favoured LS2state),between which a net one-way transition from LS1 to LS2 is accessible likely via a structural phase transition(SPT)above255 ***,two well separated transition channels(HS?LS1 at around 255 K and HS←→LS2 in the temperature range of 317-350 K)are achieved according to either fast(>20 K/min)or slow rate(<1 K/min),*** a moderate rate of 3 K/min,complex 1 shows a wide hysteresis of 66 K centered at 328 K,the largest yet reported for discrete Fe/Co cyanometallate *** 1 represents the first ETCST example coupled with dynamic SPT,providing a new strategy for manipulating bistability within this fascinating cyanometallate family.

Intravitreal injection of conbercept for diabetic macular edema complicated with diabetic nephropathy

AIM:To observe the therapeutic effect of conbercept on diabetic macular edema(DME)complicated with diabetic nephropathy(DN).METHODS:In this retrospective study,54 patients(54 eyes)that diagnosed as DME from January 2017 to October 2021 were *** patients were divided into two groups:DME patients with DN(25 eyes),and DME patients without DN(29 eyes).General conditions were collected before treatment,laboratory tests include fasting blood glucose,HbA1c,microalbumin/creatinine,serum *** coherence tomography(OCT)was used to check the ellipsoidal zone(EZ)and external limiting membrane(ELM)*** macular thickness(CMT),best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),and retinal hyperreflective foci(HF)as well as numbers of injections were ***:There were significant differences between fasting blood glucose,HbA1c,serum creatinine,urinary microalbumin/creatinine,and estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)between the two groups(all P<0.05).EZ and ELM continuity in the DME+DN group was worse than that in the DME group(P<0.05).BCVA(logMAR)in the DME group was significantly better than that in the DME+DN group at the same time points during treatment(all P<0.05).CMT and HF values were significantly higher in the DME+DN group than that in the DME group at the all time points(all P<0.05)and significantly decreased in both groups with time during *** 6mo after treatment,the mean number of injections in the DME+DN and DME group was 4.84±0.94 and 3.79±0.86,***:Conbercept has a significant effect in short-term treatment of DME patients with or without DN,and can significantly ameliorate BCVA,CMT and the number of HF,treatment efficacy of DME patients without DN is better than that of DME patients with DN.

Wearable Leg Movement Monitoring System for High-Precision Real-Time Metabolic Energy Estimation and Motion Recognition

Comprehensive and quantitative assessment of human physical activity in daily life is valuable for healthcare,especially for those who suffer from obesity and neurological disorders or are at high risk of *** wearable devices,e.g.,smartwatches,are insufficient and inaccurate for monitoring highly dynamic limb movements and assessing human ***,we report a new wearable leg movement monitoring system incorporating a custom-made motion sensor with machine learning algorithm to perceive human motion accurately and comprehensively during diverse walking and running *** system enables real-time multimodal perceptions of personal identity,motion state,locomotion speed,and energy expenditure for wearers.A general law of extracting real-time metabolic energy from leg movements is verified although individual gaits show *** addition,we propose a novel sensing configuration combining unilateral lower leg movement velocity with its angular rate to achieve high accuracy and good generalizability while simplifying the wearable *** performances in personal identification(accuracy of 98.7%)and motion-state recognition(accuracy of 93.7%)are *** wearable system also exhibites high-precision real-time estimations of locomotion speed(error of 3.04%to 9.68%)and metabolic energy(error of 4.18%to 14.71%)for new subjects across various time-varying *** wearable system allows reliable leg movement monitoring and quantitative assessment of bodily kinematic and kinetic behaviors during daily activities,as well as safe identity authentication by gait parameters,which would greatly facilitate smart life,personal healthcare,and rehabilitation training.

A trinuclear {Fe_(2)^(Ⅲ)Fe^(Ⅱ)} complex involving both spin and non-spin transitions exhibits three-step and wide thermal hysteresis

The engineering of switchable molecules with magnetic multistability is lying on the cutting-edge research topics for integrating multi-switches and ternary memory devices. Here we presented a cyanide-bridged {Fe_(2)^(Ⅲ)Fe^(Ⅱ)} desolvated complex {[(pzTp)Fe^(Ⅲ)-(CN)3]2[Fe^(Ⅱ)(L)]} (1), obtained through single-crystal-to-single-crystal (SCSC) transformation from its solvated phase {[(pzTp)-Fe^(Ⅲ)(CN)3]2[Fe^(Ⅱ)(L)]}·2CH_(3)OH·5H_(2)O (1·sol). Remarkably, 1 exhibited unprecedented three-step transition in magnetization with wide thermal hysteresis (44, 40, and 36 K) in the temperature range of 80–320 K. The detailed studies demonstrated that the tristable character originates from both an order-disorder structural phase transition (SPT) and a strongly cooperative two-step spin crossover (SCO) process. This work thus provides a new promising strategy for realizing multiple bistablity in magnetization by introducing two different transitions.

Thermofluidic investigations of oil natural transformer:Closed-loop modelling and experimental validation

Excessively high temperatures inside a power transformer can accelerate the ageing rate and even cause unplanned *** estimating the hot-spot temperature(HST)of a power transformer is important for regulating the load and ensuring long-term *** this study,a closed-loop model of a 110-kV product transformer with an oil natural/air forced(ONAF)cooling mode is built to predict HST,in which the compression ratio of windings,equivalent heat source and radiator geometry are *** to the flow field of the winding,the‘dead oil zone’and reverse oil flow are observed in the horizontal oil *** accuracy of the proposed model is experimentally validated by temperature-rise *** results show that the absolute errors between the measured results and simulation are below 5°C,and the average error is~2°***,the arrangements of windings and radiators are studied to enhance the oil *** adding 5 washers to the high-voltage winding,the average temperature can be decreased by 6°C compared with the case without a *** the radiator can also mitigate the characteristic temperatures,and the optimal height difference between the radiator and winding centre is suggested to be 0.66 m.

Surface-state controlled synthesis of hydrophobic and hydrophilic carbon dots

It is of great significance to synthesize carbon dots(CDs)with desirable hydrophilicity for the ever-growing application of CDs in different *** this study,the hydrophilic and hydrophobic CDs were facilely prepared by solvothermal treatment of o-dihydroxybenzene and urea in N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF).Optimization experiments revealed that the solvothermal temperature has a great impact on the surface states of the *** hydrophobic CDs with a contact angle of 110.7°was obtained at 200℃.The structural and optical characterizations,along with theoretical calculations elucidated that the lipophilic nature of the CDs was resulting from the formation of polymer *** presence of extended conjugated sp^(2)-domains and amino groups contributed to the red emission of the CDs synthesized at low reaction temperatures(160-200℃).With the further increase of solvothermal temperature,the hydrophobic CDs were gradually transformed to the hydrophilic state accompanying the blue shift of the fluorescence of the *** highly hydrophilic CDs with a contact angle of 25.9°were obtained at 240℃ due to the increased formation of hydrophilic functional groups on the surface of *** red emissive CDs exhibited a sensitive color and fluorescence response to ethanol content while the fluorescence of the blue emissive CDs remained *** combining the two kinds of CDs,a dual-emission sensor was constructed,which was successfully applied for the evaluation of the alcoholic strength in commercial Baijiu commodities in both fluorometric and colorimetric modes.

Gradient microstructure and superior strength-ductility synergy of AZ61 magnesium alloy bars processed by radial forging with different deformation temperatures

Gradient microstructure modification is a cost-efficient strategy for high strength without compromising ductility,which is urgently needed in the fundamental science of engineering *** this study,heterogeneous structures of AZ61 alloy bars with anisotropic gradients(with different grain size distributions from the surface to the center)were observed to exhibit strong strength-ductility synergies under different deformation tem *** results reveal that the grain refinement process under mediumlow temperature deformation conditions(≤350℃)consists of four transition stages along the radial direction,i.e.,twin activations and deformation band formations,dislocation cells and pile-ups,ultrafine sub-grains,and randomly orientated quasi-micron *** deformation temperatures have a great influence on twin activations and deformation band formations,and the high temperature can easily provoke the initiation of non-basal *** deformation bands were determined as a primary nucleation site due to their highly unstable dislocation hindrance *** in combination with the Radial forging(RF)deformation process,the differences of dynamic precipitates can be attributed to microstructural difference and solubility limit of Al at different tem *** summarizing the tensile test results,the sample forged at 350℃exhibited the best strength-ductility synergy,exhibiting the highest elongation(EL)of 23.2%with a 251 MPa yield strength(YS)and 394 MPa ultimate tensile strength(UTS)in center region,and combined with the highest strength value of 256 MPa YS and 420 MPa UTS in the center region,while the EL was slightly degraded to 19.8%.

Thermal comfort in a building with Trombe wall integrated with phase change materials in hot summer and cold winter region without air conditioning

Trombe wall and phase change materials(PCMs)are two effective ways to regulate indoor thermal ***,Trombe wall surfers from overheating in summer and PCMs suffer from low heat transfer rate caused by the limited thermal *** compensate the shortcomings of the two methods,this paper proposed a Trombe wall system integrated with *** on a light-weight building envelope in Changsha,China,the thermal comfort of 10 kinds of Trombe wall systems with PCMs with a melting temperature of 18-28℃ were *** the integrated indoor discomfort duration(I_(D)),integrated indoor discomfort degree-hour(I_(DH)),indoor air temperature(T_(in)),PCM liquid fraction(γ)and heat flux across wall(q)as evaluation indexes,the indoor thermal comfort was assessed in hot summer and cold winter *** show that the Trombe wall helped PCMs complete the phase change process *** wall with PCM25 next to the wall inner surface possessed the lowest annual I_(D) and I_(DH),as 2877 h and 12,974℃·h,*** with the values in a traditional building,the I_(D) and I_(DH) were reduced by 7.01% and 14.14%.In order to give full play to the heat storage and heat release of the Trombe wall with PCMs,PCMs with phase change temperature 7℃ lower than the peak ambient temperature in summer or 8℃ higher than the winter night temperature was recommended according to regional climate conditions.
