Modern medicine is reliant on various medical imaging technologies for non-invasively observing patients’***,the interpretation of medical images can be highly subjective and dependent on the expertise of ***,some potentially useful quantitative information in medical images,especially that which is not visible to the naked eye,is often ignored during clinical *** contrast,radiomics performs high-throughput feature extraction from medical images,which enables quantitative analysis of medical images and prediction of various clinical *** have reported that radiomics exhibits promising performance in diagnosis and predicting treatment responses and prognosis,demonstrating its potential to be a non-invasive auxiliary tool for personalized ***,radiomics remains in a developmental phase as numerous technical challenges have yet to be solved,especially in feature engineering and statistical *** this review,we introduce the current utility of radiomics by summarizing research on its application in the diagnosis,prognosis,and prediction of treatment responses in patients with *** focus on machine learning approaches,for feature extraction and selection during feature engineering and for imbalanced datasets and multi-modality fusion during statistical ***,we introduce the stability,reproducibility,and interpretability of features,and the generalizability and interpretability of ***,we offer possible solutions to current challenges in radiomics research.

Promoting electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction to ammonia via dopant boron on two-dimensional materials

Electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR) is a key process for producing energy efficient and environment friendly ammonia. Boron-doped two-dimensional materials are highly promising as NRR ***, the interaction between doped boron and matrix materials on NRR catalytic performance is still unclear,which is limiting the development of catalysts containing boron for NRR. Here, NRR on different boron-doped twodimensional(2D) materials was explored by first principle theory. It is found that adsorption energy of intermediate*NNH(E*NNH) can be used as a descriptor to characterize the catalytic activity for NRR. Boron-adsorbed black phosphorus(B-BP) is demonstrated showing excellent NRR catalytic activity and suppressing hydrogen evolution reaction. It is disclosed that the excellent catalytic performance of boron-doped structures comes from a proper quantitatively electron transfer(0.8e) between nitrogen in*NNH and the active site boron atom. This work not only established a descriptor for NRR catalytic activity on B-doped 2D materials, but also screened out a potential NRR catalyst. More importantly, the intrinsic reason and mechanism of high catalytic activity of boron-doped structures were proposed. This work provides a design principle for exploring high-performance NRR electrocatalysts containing boron.

Inducing mitochondriopathy-like damages by transformable nucleopeptide nanoparticles for targeted therapy of bladder cancer

Mitochondriopathy inspired adenosine triphosphate(ATP) depletions have been recognized as a powerful way for controlling tumor growth. Nevertheless, selective sequestration or exhaustion of ATP under complex biological environments remains a prodigious challenge. Harnessing the advantages of in vivo self-assembled nanomaterials, we designed an Intracellular ATP Sequestration(IAS) system to specifically construct nanofibrous nanostructures on the surface of tumor nuclei with exposed ATP binding sites,leading to highly efficient suppression of bladder cancer by induction of mitochondriopathy-like ***, the reported transformable nucleopeptide(NLS-FF-T) self-assembled into nuclear-targeted nanoparticles with ATP binding sites encapsulated inside under aqueous conditions. By interaction with KPNA2, the NLS-FF-T transformed into a nanofibrous-based ATP trapper on the surface of tumor nuclei,which prevented the production of intracellular energy. As a result, multiple bladder tumor cell lines(T24,EJ and RT-112) revealed that the half-maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50) of NLS-FF-T was reduced by approximately 4-fold when compared to NLS-T. Following intravenous administration, NLS-FF-T was found to be dose-dependently accumulated at the tumor site of T24 xenograft mice. More significantly, this IAS system exhibited an extremely antitumor efficacy according to the deterioration of T24 tumors and simultaneously prolonged the overall survival of T24 orthotopic xenograft mice. Together, our findings clearly demonstrated the therapeutic advantages of intracellular ATP sequestration-induced mitochondriopathy-like damages, which provides a potential treatment strategy for malignancies.

Enhanced potassium storage of carbon nanofibers as binderfree anodes enabled by coupling ultra-small amorphous Sb_(2)O_(3),graphene modification and sulfur doping

Considering the intrinsic advantages of natural copiousness and cost-effectiveness of potassium resource,potassium-ion batteries(KIBs) are booming as prospective alternatives to lithium-ion batteries(liBs) in large-scale energy storage scenarios. Nevertheless, lacking desirable electrodes for reversibly hosting the bulky K+hinders the widespread application of KIBs, and it needs to be urgently solved. Hereon, the porous S-doped Sb_(2)O_(3)-graphene-carbon(SAGC) nanofibers are manufactured through an adjustable and facile approach, which involves electrospinning, in situ etching and sulfuration. The synthesized SAGC is featured by the ultra-small amorphous Sb_(2)O_(3) homogeneously wrapped inside the carbon matrix, as well as the co-incorporation of graphene and sulfur. Tentatively,the SAGC nanofiber sheets are applied as binder-free anodes for KIBs, exhibiting a prominent cycling life(256.72 m Ah·g^(-1) over 150 cycles at 100 m A·g^(-1)) and rate·g^(-1) over 100 cycles at 1 A·g^(-1)). The positive synergy among all the active components accounts for the distinguished performances of the SAGC. By reinforcing the tolerability to the swelling stress, producing the valid electrochemical active sites, and promoting the charge transferring for reversible K+uptake, the SAGC finally renders the excellent cyclability, capacity, and rate capability. Moreover, the extrinsic electrochemical pseudocapacitance characteristics induced by the porous carbon substrate elevate the K-storage capacity of the SAGC as well. It is hoped that the conclusions drawn may offer new insights into a direction for the high-performance binderfree KIB anodes.

The remarkable properties of carbon nanotubes(CNTs)have led to promising applications in the field of electromagnetic inter-ference(EMI)***,for macroscopic CNT assemblies,such as CNT film,achieving high electrical and mechanical properties remains challenging,which heavily depends on the tube-tube interac-tions of ***,we develop a novel strategy based on metal-organic decomposition(MOD)to fabricate a flexible silver-carbon nanotube(Ag-CNT)*** Ag particles are introduced in situ into the CNT film through annealing of MOD,leading to enhanced tube-tube *** a result,the electrical conductivity of Ag-CNT film is up to 6.82×10^(5) S m^(-1),and the EMI shielding effectiveness of Ag-CNT film with a thickness of~7.8μm exceeds 66 dB in the ultra-broad frequency range(3-40 GHz).The tensile strength and Young’s modulus of Ag-CNT film increase from 30.09±3.14 to 76.06±6.20 MPa(~253%)and from 1.12±0.33 to 8.90±0.97 GPa(~795%),***,the Ag-CNT film exhibits excellent near-field shield-ing performance,which can effectively block wireless *** innovative approach provides an effective route to further apply macroscopic CNT assemblies to future portable and wearable electronic devices.

Effect of Al content on modification behavior of non-metallic inclusions in high-strength steel treated with rare earth

The influence of Al content(0.0053,0.0171,and 0.0578 wt.%)on the modification behavior of non-metallic inclusions in 20CrMoVTiB steel treated with rare earth elements was studied through high-temperature experiments and thermodynamic *** results showed that the modification products varied with the Al content in steel under 0.01 wt.%of Ce *** formation sequence of typical rare earth inclusions in steel with the increase in Al content was Ce_(2)O_(3)→CeAlO_(3)→CeAl_(11)O_(18),and the final stable products were highly Al content *** the Al content was 0.0053 wt.%,the stable phase in steel was Ce2O3;while the[Al]reached 0.0171 wt.%,the stable phase became CeA1O_(3).As the A1 content reached 0.0578 wt.%,CeAl_(11)O_(18) became the stable *** a result,increasing the Al content could inhibit the precipitation of Ce_(2)O_(3) inclusions in steel while promote the formation of CeAIO3 and CeAl_(11)O_(18) *** addition,both Ca treatment and Ce treatment could effectively refine the size of inclusions in steel by changing their ***,the feeding amount of Ca wire into molten steel should be appropriately reduced under the condition of adding Ce simultaneously,which is expected to be beneficial for an improved Ce treatment effect.

Two allyldimethylalkyl quaternary ammonium salt(AQAS)monomers,N,N-dimethylallylphenylpropylammonium bromide(AQAS1)and N,N-dimethylallylnonylammonium bromide(AQAS2),were synthesized and used to prepare modified polyacrylamide *** new drag reducers were synthesized from acrylamide(AM),sodium acrylate(Na AA)and a cationic modified monomer(AQAS1 or AQAS2)via aqueous solution polymerization,and the copolymers were named P(AM/Na AA/AQAS1)and P(AM/Na AA/AQAS2),*** structures of the drag reduction agents were confirmed by IR and1H NMR *** molecular weight(Mw)of P(AM/Na AA/AQAS1)was 1.79×10^(6)g/*** the copolymer concentration was 1000 mg/L and the flow rate was 45 L/min,in fresh water the highest drag reduction rate was 75.8%,in 10,000 mg/L Na Cl solution the drag reduction rate decreased to 72.9%.The molecular weight of P(AM/Na AA/AQAS2)was 3.17×10^(6)g/*** the copolymer concentration was500 mg/L and the flow rate was 45 L/min,the drag reduction rate reached 75.2%,and in 10,000 mg/L Na Cl solution the drag reduction rate was 73.3%,decreased by approximately 1.9%.The drag reduction rate for partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide(HPAM)was also investigated,and the results showed that the drag reduction rates for 500 and 1000 mg/L HPAM solutions were merely 43.2%and 49.0%in brine,*** with HPAM,both of the above copolymers presented better drag reduction capacities.

Future optical clock networks will require high-precision optical time-frequency transfer between satellites and ground ***,due to atmospheric turbulence,satellite motion and time delay between the satellite–ground transmission links will cause spatial and temporal variations,respectively,resulting in the breakdown of the time-of-flight reciprocity on which optical two-way time-frequency transfer is ***,we experimentally simulate the atmospheric effects by two-way spatio-temporally separated links between two stationary terminals located 113 km apart and measure the effects for optical two-way time-frequency *** experiment shows that the effect on the link instability is less than 2.3×10^(−19) at 10,000 *** indicates that when the link instability of satellite-ground optical time-frequency transfer is on the order of 10^(−19),it is not necessary to consider the atmospheric non-reciprocity effects.

By accurately measuring composition and energy spectrum of cosmic ray,the origin problem of so called“knee”region(energy>one PeV)can be ***,up to the present,the results of the spectrum in the knee region obtained by several previous experiments have shown obvious differences,so they cannot give effective evidence for judging the theoretical models on the origin of the ***,the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory(LHAASO)has reported several major breakthroughs and important results in astro-particle physics *** on its advantages of wide-sky survey,high altitude location and large area detector arrays,the research content of LHAASO experiment mainly includes ultra high-energy gamma-ray astronomy,measurement of cosmic ray spectra in the knee region,searching for dark matter and new phenomena of particle physics at higher *** electron and thermal neutron detector(EN-Detector)is a new scintillator detector which applies thermal neutron detection technology to measure cosmic ray extensive air shower(EAS).This technology is an extension of *** EN-Detector Array(ENDA)can highly efficiently measure thermal neutrons generated by secondary hadrons so called“skeleton”of *** this paper,we perform the optimization of ENDA configuration,and obtain expectations on the ENDA results,including thermal neutron distribution,trigger efficiency and capability of cosmic ray composition *** obtained real data results are consistent with those by the Monte Carlo simulation.
