As China’s first x-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard x-ray Modulation Telescope (HxMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HxMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based x-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. It was designed to perform pointing, scanning and gamma-ray burst(GRB)observations and, based on the Direct Demodulation Method (DDM), the image of the scanned sky region can be *** we give an overview of the mission and its progresses, including payload, core sciences, ground calibration/facility, ground segment, data archive, software, in-orbit performance, calibration, background model, observations and some preliminary results.

RATIONAL GENERAL SOLuTIONS OF HIGHER ORDER ALGEBRAIC ODES

This paper generalizes the method of Ng6 and Winkler （2010, 2011） for finding rational general solutions of a first order non-autonomous algebraic ordinary differential equation （AODE） to the case of a higher order AODE, provided a proper parametrization of its solution hypersurface. The authors reduce the problem of finding the rational general solution of a higher order AODE to finding the rational general solution of an associated system. The rational general solutions of the original AODE and its associated system are in computable 1-1 correspondence. The authors give necessary and sufficient conditions for the associated system to have a rational solution based on proper reparametrization of invariant algebraic space curves. The authors also relate invariant space curves to first integrals and characterize rationally solvable systems by rational first integrals.

We give necessary and sufficient conditions for two compressing sequences to be s-uniform with α provided that the compressing map is of the form φ(x;, x;,..., x;) = g(x;) + η(x;, x;,..., x;), where g(x;) is a permutation polynomial over Z/（p） and η is an（e-1）-variable polynomial over Z/（p）.

Solving multi-objective constrained minimum weighted bipartite assignment problem: a case study on energy-aware radio broadcast scheduling

This paper proposes a multi-objective constrained minimum weighted bipartite assignment problem(MCMWBAP), which is considered an extension of the classical bipartite matching problem(BMP). We first provide the formulation of the MCMWBAP and prove that it is an NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem. Based on this formulation, multi-objective energy-aware shortwave radio broadcast resource allocation problem(MSRBRAP) application is studied. The goal of this problem is to allocate radio programs to transmission devices to broadcast all radio programs felicitously with a maximized objective of total qualified monitoring sites and a minimized objective of energy consumption. Then, a novel multi-objective hybrid evolutionary algorithm(MOHEA), which is integrated with push and pull initialization, the dynamic resource allocation strategy, and the aggregate local search procedure, is developed to solve the *** proposed method is evaluated using two categories of benchmarks for MCMWBAP together with a real scenario case study for MSRBRAP. Furthermore, the key components of MOHEA are analyzed, and the experimental results demonstrate that MOHEA outperforms two classical multi-objective evolutionary algorithms(NSGA-II and MOEA/D), improving working efficiency.

The behaviors and dynamics of bubbles, usually described by the Rayleigh-Plesset （RP） equation and its generalizations, have been an interesting area in fluid dynamics. Owing to their simplicity and sufficient accuracy, the RP equation for bubble dynamics and its enhanced models remains widely used in science and engineering, see refs. [1-3]. In this paper, we consider the RP equation for N-dimensions spherical bubbles in an incompressible, inviscid, infinite liquid with uniform far-field pressure [4]

Effect of particle composition and consolidation degree on the wave-induced liquefaction of soil beds

The wave-induced liquefaction of seabed is responsible for causing damage to marine *** composition and consolidation degree are the key factors affecting the pore water pressure response and liquefaction behavior of the seabed under wave *** present study conducted wave flume experiments on silt and silty fine sand beds with varying particle ***,a comprehensive analysis of the differences and underlying reasons for liquefaction behavior in two different types of soil was conducted from both macroscopic and microscopic *** experimental results indicate that the silt bed necessitates a lower wave load intensity to attain the liquefaction state in comparison to the silty fine sand ***,the duration and development depth of liquefaction are greater in the silt *** dissimilarity in liquefaction behavior between the two types of soil can be attributed to the variation in their permeability and plastic deformation *** permeability coefficient and compression modulus of silt are lower than those of silty fine ***,silt is more prone to the accumulation of pore pressure and subsequent liquefaction under external *** research has demonstrated that silt beds with varying consolidation degrees exhibit distinct initial failure ***,a dense bed undergoes shear failure,whereas a loose bed experiences initial liquefaction *** study utilized discrete element simulation to examine the microscopic mechanisms that underlie this phenomenon.

Novel coprecipitation-oxidation method for recovering iron from steel waste pickling liquor

Waste pickling liquors （WPLs） containing high concentrations of iron and acid are hazardous waste products from the steel pickling processes. A novel combined coprecipitation-oxidation method for iron recovery by Fe304 nanoparhcle＇ production from the WPLs was developed in this study. 2＋All oxidation-reduction potential monitoring method was developed for real-time control of the Fe2＋/Fe3＋ molar ratio. The key coprecipitation-oxidation parameters were determined using the orthogonal experimental design method. The use of promoters greatly improved the Fe3O4 nanoparticle crystallinity, size, magnetization, and dispersion. x-ray diffraction patterns showed that the produced Fe3O4. nanoparticles were single phase. The Fe3O4 nan oparticles were approximately spherical and slightly aggtomerated. Vibrating sample magnetometry showed that the Fe3O4 nanopahicles produced from the WPLs had good magnetic properties, with a saturation magnetization of 80.206 emu. g-1 and a remanence of 10.500 emu. g-1. The results show that this novel coprecipitation-oxidation method has great potential for recycling iron in WPLs.

Effect of carbonization atmosphere on electrochemical properties of nitrogen-doped porous carbon

Nitrogen atom doping has been found to enhance the electrochemical performance of porous carbon(PC).In this study,hollow tubular nitrogen-doped porous carbon(N/PC)was synthesized using polyvinylpyrrolidone as the carbon–nitrogen source and fibrous brucite as the template through *** effects of nitrogen and argon protective atmospheres on the nitrogen content,the specific surface area(SSA),and electrochemical properties of N/PC were *** results showed that compared with N/FBC-Ar,N/FBC-N2 prepared in nitrogen protective atmosphere had a higher nitrogen content and a larger proportion of pyrrolic nitrogen(N-5)and pyridinic nitrogen(N-6).N/FBC-N2 displayed a specific capacitance(C)of 194.1 F·g^(−1)at 1 A·g^(−1),greater than that of N/FBC-Ar(174.3 F·g^(−1)).This work reveals that the nitrogen doping with a higher nitrogen content in nitrogen protective atmosphere is more ***,a larger proportion of pyrrolic nitrogen and pyridinic nitrogen in the doped nitrogen atoms significantly enhances the electrochemical performance.

Natural Gas Pressure Reduction Station Self-powered by Fire Thermoelectric Generator

Pressure reduction station(PRS)is an essential facility in natural gas transmission,which owns the function of pressure reduction,demand-supply management and flow ***,a large number of PRSs are located in off-grid areas and powered by battery equipment resulting in high maintenance ***,how to realize the energy independence of these PRSs is an urgent issue to be ***,the natural gas fired thermoelectric generation(FTEG)module,including gas flue,cover,TEGs and heat radiators,is designed for PRS in off-grid *** change material is introduced into the FTEG module to change the operation mode from continuous mode into a periodic mode,and the prototype of the FTEG module is built to discuss the generation performance in different *** results show that the generation efficiency of the FTEG module is improved by 63%in periodic mode compared with the continuous ***,the numerical model is established to investigate the impacts of air coefficient,cold-side heat radiator and number of TEGs on the module *** found that the impacts of cold-side heat radiator and the number of TEGs are more significant than those of the air *** adjusting these key parameters,an optimized FTEG module with 32 TEGs is proposed,which has an average power generation of 16.4 W and a heat collection efficiency of 84.6%.Eventually,3 to 6 modules can be connected in series to meet the power requirement of 50 W to 100 W for *** high-performance FTEG module can accelerate the process of achieving the energy independence of PRS and promote its application in mesoscale equipment.

Experimental determination of solubilities and＇supersolubilities of 2,2＇,4,4＇,6,6＇-hexanitrostilbene in different organic solvents

The laser monitor technique was used to determine solubilities and supersolubilities of HNS in N,N-dimethylformamide, dimethyl sulfoxide, acetonitrile, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and 1,4-butyrolactone. The experimental solubility values were correlated with λh equation, modified Apelblat equation and NRTL model. Furthermore, the dissolution enthalpy, dissolution entropy and the Gibbs energy of HNS were calculated by the experimental data. The results show that the solubilities of HNS in the above solvents increase with the increasing temperature. Besides, at the same temperature, the order of solubility is N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone > dimethyl sulfoxide > N,N-dimethylformamide > 1,4-butyrolactone > acetonitrile. The temperature dependence of predicted solubility is in agreement with the experimental data.
