Track-Pattern-Based Characteristics of Extratropical Transitioning Tropical Cyclones in the Western North Pacific

Based on the Regional specialized Meteorological Center(RsMC)Tokyo-Typhoon Center best-track data and the NCEP-NCAR reanalysis dataset,extratropical transitioning(ET)tropical cyclones(ETCs)over the western North Pacific(WNP)during 1951–2021 are classified into six clusters using the fuzzy c-means clustering method(FCM)according to their track *** characteristics of the six hard-clustered ETCs with the highest membership coefficient are *** tropical cyclones(TCs)that were assigned to clusters C2,C5,and C6 made landfall over eastern Asian countries,which severely threatened these *** landfalling TCs,93.2%completed their ET after landfall,whereas 39.8%of ETCs completed their transition within one *** frequency of ETCs over the WNP has decreased in the past four decades,wherein cluster C5 demonstrated a significant decrease on both interannual and interdecadal timescales with the expansion and intensification of the western Pacific subtropical high(WPsH).This large-scale circulation pattern is favorable for C2 and causes it to become the dominant track pattern,owning to it containing the largest number of intensifying ETCs among the six clusters,a number that has increased insignificantly over the past four *** surface roughness variation and three-dimensional background circulation led to C5 containing the maximum number of landfalling TCs and a minimum number of intensifying *** results will facilitate a better understanding of the spatiotemporal distributions of ET events and associated environment background fields,which will benefit the effective monitoring of these events over the WNP.

Predicting the displacement of landslide is of utmost practical importance as the landslide can pose serious threats to both human life and ***,traditional methods have the limitation of random selection in sliding window selection and seldom incorporate weather forecast data for displacement prediction,while a single structural model cannot handle input sequences of different lengths at the same *** order to solve these limitations,in this study,a new approach is proposed that utilizes weather forecast data and incorporates the maximum information coefficient(MIC),long short-term memory network(LsTM),and attention mechanism to establish a teacher-student coupling model with parallel structure for short-term landslide displacement *** MIC,a suitable input sequence length is selected for the LsTM *** investigate the influence of rainfall on landslides during different seasons,a parallel teacher-student coupling model is developed that is able to learn sequential information from various time series of different *** teacher model learns sequence information from rainfall intensity time series while incorporating reliable short-term weather forecast data from platforms such as China Meteorological Administration(CMA)and Reliable Prognosis(https://***)to improve the model’s expression capability,and the student model learns sequence information from other time *** attention module is then designed to integrate different sequence information to derive a context vector,representing seasonal temporal attention ***,the predicted displacement is obtained through a linear *** proposed method demonstrates superior prediction accuracies,surpassing those of the support vector machine(sVM),LsTM,recurrent neural network(RNN),temporal convolutional network(TCN),and LsTM-Attention *** achieves a mean absolute error(MAE)of 0.072 mm,root mean square error(RMsE)of 0.096 mm,and pearson correlation coefficients(PC

Bone age assessment(BAA)helps doctors determine how a child’s bones grow and develop in clinical *** BAA methods rely on clinician expertise,leading to time-consuming predictions and inaccurate *** deep learning-based BAA methods feed the extracted critical points of images into the network by providing additional *** operation is costly and *** address these problems,we propose a multi-scale attentional densely connected network(MsADCN)in this *** constructs a multi-scale dense connectivity mechanism,which can avoid overfitting,obtain the local features effectively and prevent gradient vanishing even in limited training ***,MsADCN designs multi-scale structures in the densely connected network to extract fine-grained features at different ***,coordinate attention is embedded to focus on critical features and automatically locate the regions of interest(ROI)without additional *** addition,to improve the model’s generalization,transfer learning is applied to train the proposed MsADCN on the public dataset IMDB-WIKI,and the obtained pre-trained weights are loaded onto the Radiological society of North America(RsNA)***,label distribution learning(LDL)and expectation regression techniques are introduced into our model to exploit the correlation between hand bone images of different ages,which can obtain stable age *** experiments confirm that our model can converge more efficiently and obtain a mean absolute error(MAE)of 4.64 months,outperforming some state-of-the-art BAA methods.

With the rapid growth of the maritime Internet of Things(IoT)devices for Maritime Monitor services(MMs),maritime traffic controllers could not handle a massive amount of data in *** unmanned MMs,one of the key technologies is situation ***,the presence of slow-fast high maneuvering targets and track breakages due to radar blind zones make modeling the dynamics of marine multi-agents difficult,and pose significant challenges to maritime situation *** order to comprehend the situation accurately and thus offer unmanned MMs,it is crucial to model the complex dynamics of multi-agents using IoT big ***,previous methods typically rely on complex assumptions,are plagued by unstructured data,and disregard the interactions between multiple agents and the spatial-temporal correlations.A deep learning model,Graph spatial-Temporal Generative Adversarial Network(GraphsTGAN),is proposed in this paper,which uses graph neural network to model unstructured data and uses sTGAN to learn the spatial-temporal dependencies and *** experiments show the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.

The thermal gradient is an important factor that causes degradation to the image quality of telescopes. In order to ensure the accurate alignment of the primary focus unit and the primary mirror, the hexapod platform(as a corrector) is investigated in this paper. First, a ground-based telescope with 2.5 m aperture and 3.5 deg field of view is described. The telescope is under construction, and it is expected to be finished in 2023. second, the hexapod platform with flexure hinges utilized to adjust the primary focus unit is proposed, which is applied as a ***, the inverse kinematics of the platform is established and an open-loop control system is built based on ***, the cryogenic performance test for the hexapod platform is performed. The experimental results show that the resolution and repeatability of the translation for the hexapod platform can be achieved at the micrometer *** resolution and repeatability of the rotation can be achieved at the arc-second level. Therefore, the cryogenic performance of the hexapod platform can meet the optical imaging requirements of the wide-field ground-based telescope. The kinematic analysis and cryogenic performance tests in the paper provide a technical reference for the precise alignment of the primary focus unit and the primary mirror, which can improve the imaging quality of the telescope.

The selective electrochemical conversion of glycerol into value-added products is a green and sustainable strategy for the biomass *** this work,Au nanowires(Au-NW)modified with polyethyleneimine(PEI)molecule(Au-NW@PEI)is obtained by an up-bottom post-modification *** characterization,molecular dynamics simulation and density functional theory demonstrate that the loose-packed PEI monolayer firmly and uniformly distribute on the Au-NW surface due to the strong Au-N *** experiments and product analysis display that PEI modification significantly enhance the electro-activity of Au-NW for the glycerol electro-oxidation reaction(GEOR)due to the electronic ***,the steric hindrance and electrostatic effect of PEI layer make the optimizing adsorption of intermediates ***,the selectivity of C3 product glyceric acid over Au-NW@PEI is increased by nearly 20%.The work thus indicates that the rational design of metal-organic interface can effectively elevate the electro-activity and selectivity of Au nanostructures,which may have wide application in biomass development.
