Dapagliflozin in heart failure and type 2 diabetes:Efficacy,cardiac and renal effects,safety

Solving the subset sum problem by the quantum Ising model with variational quantum optimization based on conditional values at risk

Controlling of coordination state of Ru_(x)n_(y) clusters for efficient oxygen reduction electrocatalysis

Ruthenium(Ru)is an attractive potential alternative to platinum as an electrocatalyst for the oxygen reduction reaction(oRR),in virtue of its high catalytic selectivity and relatively low *** this work,a series of well-dispersed nitrogen-coordinated Ru-clusters on carbon black(Ru_(x)n_(y)/C)were prepared by pyrolyzing different Ru-containing sandwich compounds as the Ru *** higher thermal stability of these complexed sandwich precursors(bis(1,2,3,4,5-pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)Ru(II)monomer,dichloro(p-cymene)Ru(II)dimer,and chloro(1,2,3,4,5-pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)Ru(II)tetramer)affords the control of coordinated state for the resulting Ru-clusters,in comparison of that derived from ruthenium *** the pyrolysis treatment,the Ru coordinated state in Ru_(x)n_(y)/C,with the Ru–n and Ru–Ru bonds,still showed the structural inheritance from the Ru(II)monomer,dimer,and tetramer,but using ruthenium chlorides as the Ru source resulted in the nanoscale Ru *** oRR testing exhibited that the Ru_(x)n_(y)/C sample derived from the Ru(II)tetramer(Ru_(x)n_(y)/C-T)presents the higher catalytic activity than the other obtained samples in either alkaline or acidic *** in the acidic electrolyte,Ru_(x)n_(y)/C-T shows the comparable oRR activity to that of Pt/C catalysts,and it shows the superior tolerance against methanol and *** X-ray absorption spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations demonstrate that these tetra-nuclear Ru-clusters could be the most active site due to their broadened d-orbital bands and lower energy d-band center than those of other subnano species and nanocrystals,and their favorable Yeager-type adsorption of o_(2)-molecules is also contributed to promoting o–o bond cleavage and accelerating the oRR process.

Porous S-doped carbon nitride foam with accelerated charge dynamics for synchronous photocatalytic hydrogen production and highly selective oxidation of amines

Photocatalytic hydrogen evolution coupled with organic oxidation holds great promise for converting solar energy into high-valueadded chemicals,but it is hampered by sluggish charge dynamics and limited redox ***,a porous S-doped carbon nitride(S-C_(3)n_(4−y))foam assembled from ultrathin nanosheets with rich nitrogen vacancies was synthesized using a molecular selfassembly *** S dopants and n vacancies synergistically adjusted the band structure,facilitating light absorption and enhancing the oxidation ***,the ultrathin nanosheets and porous structure provided more exposed active sites and facilitated mass and charge ***,S-C_(3)n_(4−y) foam exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activities for synchronous hydrogen evolution(4960μmol/(h·g))and benzylamine oxidation to n-benzylidenebenzylamine(4885μmol/(h·g))with high selectivity of>99%,which were approximately 17.6 and 72.9 times higher than those of bulk Cn,*** photocatalytic coupling pairing reaction promotes the water splitting by consuming H2o2,thereby improving the hydrogen evolution efficiency and achieving the production of high value-added *** study provides an effective route for regulating the morphology and band structure of carbon nitride for synthesizing highly valuable chemicals.

nonalternant isomer of pentacene fusing two azulene units

Azulene is a promising building block for creating innovative polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. This study involved the construction of three nonalternant isomers of pentacene by fusing two azulene units, named Az-PH1/2/3. Az-PH1 was initially developed through the rhodium(Ⅱ)-catalyzed cyclization of bis(n-tosylhydrazone)s. Intriguingly, Az-PH1 was also unexpectedly obtained during a nickel(0)-catalyzed one-step tandem reaction. We investigated the optical and electrochemical properties, aromaticity, and photo-oxidative stability of Az-PH1, comparing it with the well-known pentacene using density functional theory, electrochemical, and photophysical tests. our results showed that the azulene-fusing strategy resulted in a molecule with narrow optical bandgaps(2.046 eV) and a long half-life time under ambient air conditions.

From seawater to hydrogen via direct photocatalytic vapor splitting: A review on device design and system integration

Solar-driven hydrogen production from seawater attracts great interest for its emerging role in decarbonizing global energy consumption. Given the complexity of natural seawater content, photocatalytic vapor splitting offers a low-cost and safe solution, but with a very low solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency. With a focus on cutting-edge photothermal–photocatalytic device design and system integration, the recent research advances on vapor splitting from seawater, as well as industrial implementations in the past decades were reviewed. In addition, the design strategies of the key processes were reviewed, including vapor temperature and pressure control during solar thermal vapor generation from seawater, capillary-fed vaporization with salt repellent, and direct photocatalytic vapor splitting for hydrogen production. Moreover, the existing laboratory-scale and industrial-scale systems, and the integration principles and remaining challenges in the future seawater-to-hydrogen technology were discussed.

n,P co-doped 3D porous carbon with self-assembled morphological control via template-free method for potassiumion battery anodes

The larger ionic radius of potassium ions than that of lithium ions significantly limits the accomplishment of rapid diffusion kinetics in graphite electrodes for potassium-ion batteries(PIBs),resulting in comparatively poor rate performance and cycle ***,we report a high-rate performance and cycling stability amorphous carbon electrode achieved through nitrogen and phosphorous *** as-prepared n,P co-doped carbon electrodes have distinct 3D structures with large surface areas,hierarchical pore architectures,and increased interlayer spaces resulting from the direct pyrolysis of supramolecular self-assembled aggregates without *** obtained electrode n3P1 exhibits a reversible specific capacity of 258 m Ah·g^(-1)at a current density of 0.1A·g^(-1)and a good long-term cycle performance(96.1%capacity retention after 800 cycles at 0.5 A·g^(-1)).Kinetic investigations show that the n3P1 electrode with the welldeveloped porous structure and large number of surface defects exhibits capacitive-driven behavior at all scan rates,which may be attributed by n and P ***-situ transmission electron microscopy analyses in the fully discharged and charged states demonstrate structural stability and reversibility owing to the expanded interlayer *** suggested synthesis approach is simple and effective for producing heteroatom-doped carbon materials for PIBs and other advanced electrochemical energy storage materials.

Direct synthesis of organophosphorus compounds from white phosphorus represents a significant but challenging subject, especially in the context of ongoing efforts to comprehensively improve the phosphorus-derived chemical industry driven by sustainability and safety concerns. China is the world's largest producer of white phosphorus, creating a significant demand for the green transformation of this crucial feedstock. This review provides an overview of advancements in white phosphorus activation by Chinese research teams, focusing on the direct construction of P–C/n/o/S/M bonds from white phosphorus. Additionally, we offer some insights into prospective directions for the activation and transformation of white phosphorus in the future. This review paper aims to attract more researchers to engage in this area, stimulating follow-up exploration and fostering enduring advances.
