The technology of tunnel boring machine(TBm)has been widely applied for underground construction worldwide;however,how to ensure the TBm tunneling process safe and efficient remains a major *** rate is a key parameter of TBm operation and reflects the TBm-ground interaction,for which a reliable prediction helps optimize the TBm ***,we develop a hybrid neural network model,called Attention-ResNet-LSTm,for accurate prediction of the TBm advance rate.A database including geological properties and TBm operational parameters from the Yangtze River Natural Gas Pipeline Project is used to train and test this deep learning *** evolutionary polynomial regression method is adopted to aid the selection of input *** results of numerical exper-iments show that our Attention-ResNet-LSTm model outperforms other commonly-used intelligent models with a lower root mean square error and a lower mean absolute percentage ***,parametric analyses are conducted to explore the effects of the sequence length of historical data and the model architecture on the prediction accuracy.A correlation analysis between the input and output parameters is also implemented to provide guidance for adjusting relevant TBm operational *** performance of our hybrid intelligent model is demonstrated in a case study of TBm tunneling through a complex ground with variable ***,data collected from the Baimang River Tunnel Project in Shenzhen of China are used to further test the generalization of our *** results indicate that,compared to the conventional ResNet-LSTm model,our model has a better predictive capability for scenarios with unknown datasets due to its self-adaptive characteristic.

Hemostatic hydrogels are widely applied for wound management of damaged tissues,traumatic wounds,and surgical *** hydrogels composed of bioactive components,including fibrin and thrombin,showed great promise in the clinic due to their good pro-coagulation *** the expanding knowledge of cascade reaction of blood coagulation and emerging bioactive substances,massive bioactive hydrogels consisting of peptides,hemocoagulase,polyphosphate(polyP),etc.,have been developed as effective hemostatic *** on the coagulation process and mechanism,we summarize the role of reported bioactive hydrogels in hemostasis in this *** conclude the key points in the coagulation process,including activation of coagulation factors,fibrinogen polymerization,etc.,then discuss how to design bioactive hydrogels to accelerate coagulation targeted to these ***,we conclude the progress and propose a perspective of bioactive hydrogels with a pro-coagulation effect for hemostasis.

Local air pollution is strongly affected by synoptic weather systems,such as fronts,troughs,low-altitude vortices,or high-altitude ***,few studies have analyzed the meteorological properties of cold or warm air masses associated to these systems and their impact on local air *** this study,hourly observations of fine particulate matter(diameter of up to 2.5µm,i.e.,Pm_(2.5)),wind(V),temperature(T),pressure(P),and precipitation(R),acquired in Hangzhou in 2014-2020,were *** this analysis,weather patterns were categorized into 27 types;89 and 94 cases illustrating the passage of warm and cold air masses over Hangzhou were identified,respectively;the influence of air mass temperature,wind speed,and wind direction on Pm_(2.5) concentrations and local accumulation or removal was *** main results are as follows.(1)Pollution events occurred more frequently for cold than for warm air masses,but average pollutant concentration was lower for cold air masses;(2)48%of the cold air mass cases corresponded to Pm_(2.5) decreases and 52%to Pm_(2.5) increases,with strong cold air masses(ΔT_(24h)>4°C;∣V∣_(average)>4 m s^(−1))markedly reducing local pollution,but weak cold air masses(ΔT24hm s^(−1))primarily inducing pollutant transport and accumulation;(3)for warm air masses,Pm_(2.5)accumulation or removal occurred in 60%and 40%of the cases,respectively:warm air masses(ΔT24h>4°C)reduced the Pm_(2.5) concentration whereas weaker winds(∣V∣_(average)m s^(−1))increased it;and(4)Pm_(2.5) concentration decreased sharply within 4 h after the passage of strong cold air masses,but more gradually within 14 h after the passage of strong warm air *** results considerably improve the current understanding of the influence of cold and warm air masses on local pollution patterns.

Biomolecular aggregation within cellular environments via liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS) spontaneously forms droplet-like structures, which play pivotal roles in diverse biological processes. These structures are closely associated with a range of diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders, cancer and infectious diseases, highlighting the significance of understanding LLPS mechanisms for elucidating disease pathogenesis, and exploring potential therapeutic interventions. In this review, we delineate recent advancements in LLPS research, emphasizing its pathological relevance, therapeutic considerations, and the pivotal role of bioinformatic tools and databases in facilitating LLPS investigations. Additionally, we undertook a comprehensive analysis of bioinformatic resources dedicated to LLPS research in order to elucidate their functionality and applicability. By providing comprehensive insights into current LLPS-related bioinformatics resources, this review highlights its implications for human health and disease.

Radio frequency quadrupoles(RFQs),which are crucial components of proton injectors,significantly affect the performance of proton accelerator *** RFQ with a high frequency of 714 mHz dedicated to compact proton injectors for medi-cal applications is designed in this *** RFQ is designed to accelerate proton beams from 50 keV to 4 meV within a short length of 2 m and can be matched closely with the downstream drift tube linac to capture more particles through a preliminary *** develop an advanced RFQ,challenging techniques,including fabrication and tuning method,must be evaluated and verified using a *** aluminium prototype is derived from the conceptual design of the RFQ and then redesigned to confirm the radio frequency performance,fabrication procedure,and feasibility of the tuning ***,a new tuning algorithm based on the response matrix and least-squares method is developed,which yields favorable results based on the prototype,i.e.,the errors of the dipole and quadrupole components reduced to a low level after several tuning *** from the conceptual design and techniques obtained from the prototype,the formal mechanical design of the 2-m RFQ is ready for the next manufacturing step.

The rapid discharge of cuttings from the air cushion chamber is crucial for the construction safety and excavation efficiency of the slurry *** studies have mainly focused on the transport characteristics of cuttings in the slurry discharge pipe,while the complete process of cuttings entering the slurry discharge pipe from the air cushion chamber until they are discharged was often *** on the CFD-DEm coupling method and combined with actual engineering,this paper established a numerical model that can more completely reflect the cuttings discharge process during slurry shield tunneling,and the effects of the slurry velocity at slurry gate and scouring pipes,inclination angle of slurry discharge pipe,cuttings diameter and shape coefficient were investigated by analyzing the variation in the mass flow rate,mass of discharged cuttings,and discharged *** results revealed that increasing the slurry velocity can promote the discharge of *** keep the discharged rate at a high level,it is recommended that the slurry velocity at the slurry gate should be greater than 0.15 m/*** the inclination angle of the discharge pipe is conducive to the rapid discharge of *** with large diameter or small shape coefficient are more prone to accumulate in the air cushion chamber and cause clogging *** research results not only help to improve engineers'understanding of cuttings discharge in slurry shield,but also provide practical guidance for formulating relevant construction measures.
