In this study,the anti-penetration performance of polyurea/ASTM1405-steel composite plate subjected to high velocity projectile was *** kinds of modified polyurea material(AMMT-053 and AMMT-055)were selected and a ballistic impact testing system including speed measuring target system and high-speed camera was *** experiment was conducted with a rifle and 5.8 mm projectile to explore the effects by the polyurea coating thickness,the polyurea coating position and the glass-fiber cloth on the anti-penetration performance of polyurea/ASTM1405-steel composite *** result showed that the effects of polyurea coating position were different between two types of polyurea,and that the effects of glass-fiber position were disparate between two types of polyurea as *** AMMT-053 polyurea material,it was better to be on front face than on rear face;whereas for AMMT-055 polyurea,it was better to be on rear surface although the difference was very ***,formulas had been given to describe the relationship between the effectiveness of polyurea and the thickness of polyurea *** general,AMMT-055 had better anti-penetration performance than ***,five typical damage modes including self-healing,crack,local bulge,spallation and local fragmentation were defined and the failure mechanism was analyzed with the results of SHPB ***,the bonding strength played an important role in the anti-penetration performance of polyurea/steel composite plate.

The World Health Organization emphasized the importance of goggles and face shields for protection of medical personnel at the outbreak of the COVID-19 ***,almost all countries suffered from a critical supply shortage of goggles and face shields,as well as many other types of personal protective equipment(PPE),for a long period,owing to the lack of key medical material supplies and the inefficiency of existing fabrication methods arising from the need to avoid crowds during the outbreak of *** this paper,we propose a novel combined shield design for eye and face protection that can be rapidly fabricated using three-dimensional printing *** designed prototype eye-face shield is accessible to the general public,offering more possibilities for yield improvement in PPE during emergent infectious disease events such as COVID-19.

High-efficiency single crystal cascaded third-harmonic generation(THG)was realized inβ-BaB_(2)O_(4)(BBO)material with special *** analyzing effective nonlinear optical coefficient(d_(eff))of the cascaded THG process,which was composed by type-II frequency doubling and type-I sum-frequency,the optimum phase matching(PM)direction in BBO crystal was determined to be(θ=32.1°,φ=11°).With an optimized 9-mm long sample which was processed along this direction,the highest cascaded THG conversion efficiency reached 42.3%,which is much superior to the similar components reported previously,including ADP,KDP,and Gd_(x)Y_(1-x)COB crystals.

Objective To study large-scale expansion of SD （Sprague-Dawley） rat＇s osteoblasts in suspension culture in a rotating wall vessel bioreactor （RWVB）. Methods The bioreactor rotation speeds were adjusted in the range of 0 to 20 rpm, which could provide low shear on the rnicrocarriers around 1 dyn/cm^2. The cells were isolated via sequential digestions of neonatal （less than 3 days old） SD rat calvaria. After the primary culture and several passages, the cells were seeded onto the microcarriers and cultivated in T-flask, spinner flask and RWVB respectively. During the culture period, the cells were counted and observed under the inverted microscope for morphology every 12 h. After 7 days, the cells were evaluated with scanning electron microscope （SEM） for histological examination of the aggregates. Also, the hematoxylin-eosin （HE） staining and alkaline phosphatase （ALP） staining were performed. Moreover, von-Kossa staining and Alizarin Red S staining were carded out for mineralized nodule formation. Results The results showed that in RWVB, the cells could be expanded by more than ten times and they presented better morphology and vitality and stronger ability to form bones. Conclusions The developed RWVB can provide the culture environment with a relatively low shear force and necessary three-dimensional （3D） interactions among cells and is suitable for osteopath expansion in vitro.

The effects of calcined lead--zirconate-titanate(PZT)powders on the electric properties of PZT/polyvinylidene-tifluorethylene copolymer(PVDF-TrFE)composites thick films were studied in this ***,the PZT powders synthesized by hydrothermal method were calcined at different temperatures ranging from 300℃ to 900℃,and then the PZT/PVDF-TrFE composites films were produced by casting PZT/PVDF-TrFE suspension onto the indium-tin-oxide(ITO)-coated glass *** properties,including dielectric and pyroelectric performances of thick films consisting of PZT powders calcined at different temperatures were *** highest pyroelectric cofficient obtained in the sample using 700℃ calcined PZT powders was 96μCm^(-2)K^(-1),which was 20%higher than the composites made of uncalcined ***,the highest detectivity figure-of merit(FOM)(FD)of the composite was 1.36×10^(-5)Pa^(-1/2),which increased about 13.5%compared to the one using uncalcined powders.

Solvent effect on the conformations of-bis(4-nitrophenoxy)-alkanes w th different chain Lengths(Nn)was studied by UV *** poor solvents such as EG-H_2O and THF-H_2O,with the water content higher than 50%,the K-bands of N_4. N,N_6 and N_(10)in the UV absorption spectra shifted to longer wavelengths as compared wth 4-nitrophenoxyethane(N_0).It is suggested that in poor solvents the two aromatic gr(?)ps are close to each other in parallel,forming ground state *** K- bead of N_4 showed a blue shift from that of N_0 when the water content was around 5%,probably attributable to a conformation with the nitro group of one benzene ring sit(?)ing on the plane of the other benzene ring.
