For catalytic materials,the characteristics of one-dimension and hollowness are the promotion factors for their full presentation of catalytic activity,and through a template-as sis ted method,both above superiorities can be fused simultaneously.Here,we proposed a novel strategy inspired by Pearson's principle with Cu_(2)O wires as templates,and prepared FeOOH hollow tubes,which covered by FeOOH scales.When applied as oxygen evolution reaction(OER)catalyst,the FeOOH scaly hollow tubes(FeOOH SHTs)showed outstanding catalytic activity with a low overpotential of 245 mV to drive a current density of10 mA·cm^(-2),excellent kinetics manifesting as a low Tafel slope of 46.9 mV·dec^(-1),and robust stability.This work provides a new synthesis strategy for an ideal OER catalyst,FeOOH,with high inherent activity and enhances the feasibility to broaden the design ideas of transition metalbased catalysts.

The bearing behavior of suction caissons supporting offshore wind turbines under two-way cyclic lateral loading and dead load in clay was investigated with consideration of soil strength degradation and adhesive interface friction between caisson walls and heterogeneous clay using the finite-element package ABAQUS.An ABAQUS built-in user subroutine was programmed to calculate the adhesive interface friction between clay and caisson walls.The results of parametric studies showed that the degradation of bearing capacity could be aggravated by the decrease of the aspect ratio.The offset between the rotation point of the soil inside the caisson and the central axis of the caisson increased with the increasing vertical load and number of cycles.The linearly increasing strength profile and adhesive interface led to the formation of an inverted spoon failure zone inside the caisson.The settlement-rotation curves in each cycle moved downwards with increasing number of cycles due to the soil strength degradation.

Hepatobiliary cancers(HBCs)include those of the liver[mainly hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma]and biliary tract(extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and gallbladder cancer).Based on the 2020 global cancer statistics,liver cancer ranks seventh in incidence and third in mortality among all malignant tumors,while gallbladder cancer ranks 25th in incidence and 21st in mortality(1).Due to the lack of typical symptoms and signs at the early stages,HBCs are often diagnosed at intermediate or advanced stages,and thus the opportunity of curative surgical interventions is missed(2).Therefore,most patients with HBC can only be treated with noncurative treatments,including immunotherapy.Several immunotherapeutic approaches have been attempted for HBCs,including oncolytic viruses,tumor vaccines,adoptive immunotherapy,and immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs;Figure 1).

The proportions of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)involving portal vein tumor thrombus(PVTT)varies greatly in different countries or regions,ranging from 13%to 45%.The treatment regimens for PVTT recommended by HCC guidelines in different countries or regions also vary greatly.In recent years,with the progress and development of surgical concepts,radiotherapy techniques,systematic therapies(for example,VEGF inhibitors,tyrosine kinase inhibitors and immune checkpoint inhibitors),patients with HCC involving PVTT have more treatment options and their prognoses have been significantly improved.To achieve the maximum benefit,both clinicians and patients need to think rationally about the indications of treatment modalities,the occurrence of severe adverse events,and the optimal fit for the population.In this review,we provide an update on the treatment modalities available for patients with HCC involving PVTT.Trials with large sample size for patients with advanced or unresectable HCC are also reviewed.

The rising global prevalence of metabolic diseases has increased the prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),leading to an increase in cases of NAFLD-related hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).To provide an updated literature review detailing epidemiology,risk factors,pathogenic pathways,and treatment strategies linked to NAFLD-related HCC,we conducted a literature search on PubMed from its inception to December 31,2021.About 25%of the global population suffers from NAFLD.The annual incidence of HCC among NAFLD patients is approximately 1.8 per 1,000 person-years.Older age,male sex,metabolic comorbidities,unhealthy lifestyle habits(such as smoking and alcohol consumption),physical inactivity,genetic susceptibility,liver fibrosis,and degree of cirrhosis in NAFLD patients are important risk factors for NAFLD-related HCC.Therefore,low-calorie diet,moderate-intensity exercise,treatment of metabolic comorbidities,and cessation of smoking and alcohol are the main measures to prevent NAFLD-related HCC.In addition,all patients with advanced NAFLD-related fibrosis or cirrhosis should be screened for HCC.Immune suppression disorders and changes in the liver microenvironment may be the main pathogenesis of NAFLD-related HCC.Hepatic resection,liver transplantation,ablation,transarterial chemoembolization,radiotherapy,targeted drugs,and immune checkpoint inhibitors are used to treat NAFLD-related HCC.Lenvatinib treatment may lead to better overall survival,while immune checkpoint inhibitors may lead to worse overall survival.Given the specific risk factors for NAFLD-related HCC,primary prevention is key.Moreover,the same treatment may differ substantially in efficacy against NAFLD-related HCC than against HCC of other etiologies.

Gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)is a common pregnancy complication strongly associated with poor maternal-fetal outcomes.Its incidence and prevalence have been increasing in recent years.Women with GDM typically give birth through either vaginal delivery or cesarean section,and the maternal-fetal outcomes are related to several factors such as cervical level,fetal lung maturity,the level of glycemic control still present,and the mode of treatment for the condition.We categorized women with GDM based on the latter two factors.GDM that is managed without medication when it is responsive to nutrition-and exercise-based therapy is considered diet-and exercise-controlled GDM,or class A1 GDM,and GDM managed with medication to achieve adequate glycemic control is considered class A2 GDM.The remaining cases in which neither medical nor nutritional treatment can control glucose levels or patients who do not control their blood sugar are categorized as class A3 GDM.We investigated the optimal time of delivery for women with GDM according to the classification of the condition.This review aimed to address the benefits and harms of giving birth at different weeks of gestation for women with different classes of GDM and attempted to provide an analytical framework and clearer advice on the optimal time for labor.

Many machine learning problems can be formulated as minimizing the sum of a function and a non-smooth regularization term.Proximal stochastic gradient methods are popular for solving such composite optimization problems.We propose a minibatch proximal stochastic recursive gradient algorithm SRG-DBB,which incorporates the diagonal Barzilai–Borwein(DBB)stepsize strategy to capture the local geometry of the problem.The linear convergence and complexity of SRG-DBB are analyzed for strongly convex functions.We further establish the linear convergence of SRGDBB under the non-strong convexity condition.Moreover,it is proved that SRG-DBB converges sublinearly in the convex case.Numerical experiments on standard data sets indicate that the performance of SRG-DBB is better than or comparable to the proximal stochastic recursive gradient algorithm with best-tuned scalar stepsizes or BB stepsizes.Furthermore,SRG-DBB is superior to some advanced mini-batch proximal stochastic gradient methods.

Tin-based materials with high theoretical capacity and suitable working voltage are ideal anode materials for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs). However, to overcome their shortcomings(volume expansion and inferior stability), the preparation processes are usually complicated and expensive. Herein, a tin-based metal-organic complex(tin 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid, Sn-BDC)with one-dimensional microbelt morphology is synthesized by a facile, rapid and low-cost co-precipitation method, and served as anode material for LIBs without any post-treatment. Sn-BDC exhibits a high reversible capacity with609/440 m Ah·g^(-1) at 50/2000 m A·g^(-1), and robust cycling stability of 856 m Ah·g^(-1) after 200 cycles at 200 m A·g^(-1),which are obviously superior to that of the Sn Ox/C counterparts. Moreover, an electrochemical reconstruction perspective on the lithium storage mechanism of Sn-BDC is proposed by systematic ex-situ characterizations. The reconstructed SnO_(2) replaces Sn-BDC and becomes the active material in the subsequent cycles. As the by-product of the lithiation reaction, the formed Li-based metal-organic complex(Li-BDC, wrapped around the reconstructed SnO_(2)) plays an important role in alleviating volume expansion and accelerating the charge transfer kinetics.This work is beneficial to design and construct the new electrode materials based on the electrochemical reconstruction for advanced LIBs.
