Nanozyme is a new promising approach to cancer therapy for its ability to induce ferroptosis by activating H_(2)O_(2)via a traditional radical pathway and enhance cancer ***,short half-life period of hydroxyl radical(·OH)results in unsatisfied ***,we synthesized a single-atom iron nanozyme(Fe-SAzyme),which can activate H_(2)O_(2)via a non-radical pathway to generate Fe-based reactive oxygen species(ROS)(O=FeO_(3)=O)for promoting the ferroptosis of pancreatic cancer *** Fe-SAzyme could be specifically phagocytosed by pancreatic cancer cells,increasing ROS levels and inhibiting glutathione(GSH)synthesis,which activates *** magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)showed decreased T2 signal after intravenous injection of RGD@Fe-AC(AC=activated carbon).Moreover,RGD@Fe-AC promoted dendritic cell(DC)maturation,overcame Treg-mediated immunosuppression,activated T cells to trigger adaptive immune responses,and enhanced the efficacy ofα-PD-L1 *** research demonstrated that RGD@Fe-AC provided a straightforward,easily implemented,and selective approach for pancreatic cancer treatment and immunotherapy.

Spatial heterogeneity and compositional profiles of dissolved organic matter in farmland soils across China' Mainland

Dissolved organic matter(DOM) plays an essential role in many geochemical processes,however its complexity, chemical diversity, and molecular composition are poorly understood. Soil samples were collected from 500 vegetable fields in administrative regions of China' Mainland, of which 122 were selected for further investigation. DOM properties were characterized by three-dimensional excitation-emission matrix(3D-EEM) fuorescence spectroscopy and Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry(FTICRMS)(field intensity is 15 Tesla). Our results indicated that the main constituents were UVA humic-like substances, humic-like substances, fulvic acid-like substances, and tyrosine-like substances. A total of 10,989 molecular formulae with a mass range of 100.04 to 799.59 Da were detected, covering the mass spectrometric information of the soil samples from 27 different regions. CHO and CHON molecules were dominant in DOM, whereas lignin, tannins,and aromatic substances served as the main components. The results of cluster analysis revealed that the soil properties in Jiangxi Province were considerably different from those in other regions. The key backgrounds of the DOM molecular characteristics in the vegetablefield soil samples across China' Mainland were provided at the molecular level, with large abundance and great variability.

Geochemical modeling to aid experimental design for multiple isotope tracer studies of coupled dissolution and precipitation reaction kinetics

It is a challenge to make thorough but efficient experimental designs for the coupled mineral dissolution and precipitation studies in a multi-mineral system, because it is difficult to speculate the best experimental duration, optimal sampling schedule, effects of different experimental conditions, and how to maximize the experimental outputs prior to the actual experiments. Geochemical modeling is an efficient and effective tool to assist the experimental design by virtually running all scenarios of interest for the studied system and predicting the experimental outcomes. Here we demonstrated an example of geochemical modeling assisted experimental design of coupled labradorite dissolution and calcite and clayey mineral precipitation using multiple isotope tracers. In this study, labradorite(plagioclase) was chosen as the reactant because it is both a major component and one of the most reactive minerals in basalt. Following our isotope doping studies of single minerals in the last ten years, initial solutions in the simulations were doped withmultiple isotopes(e.g., Ca and Si). Geochemical modeling results show that the use of isotope tracers gives us orders of magnitude more sensitivity than the conventional method based on concentrations and allows us to decouple dissolution and precipitation reactions at near-equilibrium condition. The simulations suggest that the precise unidirectional dissolution rates can inform us which rate laws plagioclase dissolution has followed. Calcite precipitation occurred at near-equilibrium and the multiple isotope tracer experiments would provide near-equilibrium precipitation rates, which was a challenge for the conventional concentration-based experiments. In addition, whether the precipitation of clayey phases is the rate-limiting step in some multi-mineral systems will be revealed. MicroRNA-146a-loaded magnesium silicate nanospheres promote bone regeneration in an inflammatory microenvironment

Mott insulator-density ordered superfluid transition and‘shamrock transition’in a frustrated triangle lattice

Density order is usually a consequence of the competition between long-range and short-range *** we report a density ordered superfluid emergent from a homogeneous Mott insulator due to the competition between frustrations and local *** transition is found in a Bose–Hubbard model on a frustrated triangle lattice with an extra pairing ***,we find a quantum phase transition between two different density ordered superfluids,which is beyond the Landau–Ginzburg(LG)paradigm.A U(1)symmetry is emergent at the critical point,while the symmetry in each density ordered superfluid is Z_(2)×Z_(3).We call the transition a‘shamrock transition’,due to its degenerate ground state in the parameter space being a shamrock-like curve rather than a circle in an LG-type *** low energy theories are established for the two transitions mentioned above and we find their resemblance and differences with clock models.
