Macroscopic model and statistical model to characterize electromagnetic information of a digital coding metasurface

A digital coding metasurface is a platform connecting the digital space and electromagnetic wave space, and has therefore gained much attention due to its intriguing value in reshaping wireless channels and realizing new communication architectures. Correspondingly, there is an urgent need for electromagnetic information theory that reveals the upper limit of communication capacity and supports the accurate design of metasurface-based communication systems. To this end, we propose a macroscopic model and a statistical model of the digital coding metasurface. The macroscopic model uniformly accommodates both digital and electromagnetic aspects of the meta-atoms and predicts all possible scattered fields of the digital coding metasurface based on a small number of simulations or measurements. Full-wave simulations and experimental results show that the macroscopic model is feasible and accurate. A statistical model is further proposed to correlate the mutual coupling between meta-atoms with covariance and to calculate the entropy of the equivalent currents of digital coding metasurface. These two models can help reconfigurable intelligent surfaces achieve more accurate beamforming and channel estimation, and thus improve signal power and coverage. Moreover, the models will encourage the creation of a precoding codebook in metasurface-based direct digital modulation systems, with the aim of approaching the upper limit of channel capacity. With these two models, the concepts of current space and current entropy, as well as the analysis of information loss from the coding space to wave space, is established for the first time, helping to bridge the gap between the digital world and the physical world, and advancing developments of electromagnetic information theory and new-architecture wireless systems.

Numerical simulation of formaldehyde distribution characteristics in the high-speed train cabin

The global concern over indoor air pollution in public vehicles has grown *** a focus on enhancing passengers’comfort and health,this study endeavors to investigate the distribution characteristics of formaldehyde within a high-speed train cabin by employing a computational fluid dynamics(CFD)model which is experimentally validated in a real cabin *** research focuses on analyzing the impact of air supply modes,temperature,relative humidity,and fresh air change rate on the distribution and concentration of *** results demonstrate that the difference in average formaldehyde concentration between the two air supply modes is below 1.3%,but the top air supply mode leads to a higher accumulation of formaldehyde near the sidewalls,while the bottom air supply mode promotes a more uniform distribution of ***,the temperature,relative humidity,and fresh air change rate are the primary factors affecting formaldehyde concentration levels,but they have modest effects on formaldehyde’s distribution pattern within the *** the temperature and relative humidity increase,the changes in formaldehyde concentrations in response to variations in these factors become more ***,the formaldehyde concentration may surpass the standard limit of 0.10 mg/m^(3)if the fresh air change rate falls below 212 m^(3)/*** research provides a systematic approach and referenceable results for exploring formaldehyde pollution in high-speed train cabins.

A Comprehensive Study on the Consequences of Gap-Graded Sands Considering the Loss of Fine Particles

Water and sand leakage disasters are likely to occur during construction in water-rich sand layer areas,resulting in ground *** stress-strain action characteristics of discontinuous graded sand under different internal erosion degrees,and the evolution mechanism of water and sand leakage disasters caused by the internal erosion need to be further ***,this paper takes the discontinuous graded sand in a water rich sand layer area in Nanchang City of China as the research *** the influence of different fine particle losses(0,10%,20%and 30%)under the internal erosion of sand,the salt solution method is used to realize the specified loss of fine particles in the internal *** stress-strain behavior after the loss of fine particles due to internal erosion is studied by triaxial shear ***,the physical model test and PFC-CFD method are both used to study the evolution rules of water and sand leakage disaster considered the influence of internal erosion *** show that:(1)under the same confining pressure,the peak failure strength of sand samples decreases along with the increase of fine particle loss.(2)In the water and sand leakage test of saturated sand,a natural filter channel is formed above the observed soil *** greater the loss of fine particles,the steeper and wider the collapse settlement area.(3)The relationship between the cumulative amount of water and sand leakage and time is *** total mass loss of sand increases along with the increase of internal erosion degree.(4)After the soil arch is formed around the damaged opening,the sand continues to converge above the soil arch under the action of water flow,resulting in the dense convergence of contact force chains.

Accurate diagnosis of severe coronary stenosis based on resting magnetocardiography: a prospective, single-center, cross-sectional analysis

OBJECTIVE To evalu ate the role of resting magnetocardiography in identifying seve re coronary artery stenosis in patients with suspected coronary artery *** A total of 513 patients with angina symptoms were included and divided into two groups based on the extent of coronary artery disease determined by angiography:the non-severe coronary stenusis group(<70% stenosis) and the severe coronary stenosis group(≥70% stenosis).The diagnostic model was constructed using magnetic field map(MFM) parameters,either individually or in combination with clinical *** performance of the models was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic curves,accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value(PPV) and ne gative predictive value(NPV).Calibration plots and decision curve analysis were performed to investigate the clinical utility and performance of the models,*** In the severe coronary stenosis group,QR_MCTDd,S_MDp,and TT_(MA)C_(50) were significantly higher than those in the non-severe coronary stenosis group(10,46±10.66 vs,5.11±6.07,P <0.001;7.2±8.64 vs.4.68±6.95,P=0.003;0.32±57.29 vs.0.26±57.29,P <0.001).While,QR_MV_(amp),R_(MA),and T_(MA) in the severe coronary stenosis group were lower(0.23±0.16 vs.0.28±0.16,P<0.001;55.06±48.68 vs.59.24±53.01,P<0.001;51.67±39.32 vs. 60.45±51.33,P <0.001).Seven MFM parameters were integrated into the model,resulting in an area under the curve of 0.810(95% CI:0.765-0.855).The sensitivity,specificity,PPV,NPV,and accurecy were 71.7%,80.4%,93.3%,42.8 %,and 73.5%;*** combined model exhibited an area under the curve of 0.845(95% CI:0.798-0.892).The sensitivity,specificity,PPV,NPV,and accuracy were 84.3%,73.8%,92.6%,54.6%,and 82.1%;*** curves demonstrate d excellent agreement between the nomogram prediction and actual *** decision curve analysis showed that the c ombine d model provided greater net benefit compared to the magnetocardingraphy model.C

Single-Ni-atoms on nitrogenated humic acid based porous carbon for CO_(2) electroreduction

tWe proposed a facile synthesis of single-Ni-atom catalysts on low-cost porous carbon using a calcina-tion method at the temperatures of 850-1000°C,which were used for CO_(2) electrochemical reduction to *** porous carbon was prepared by carbonizing cheap and abundant humic *** structural characterizations of the as-synthesized catalysts and their electrocatalytic performances were *** results showed that the single-Ni-atom catalyst activated at 950°C showed an optimum catalytic performance,and it reached a CO Faradaic efficiency of 91.9% with a CO partial current density of 6.9 mAcm^(-2)at-0.9 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE).Additionally,the CO Faradaic efficiency and current density of the optimum catalyst changed slightly after 8 h of continuous operation,suggesting that it possessed an excellent *** structure-activity relations indicate that the variation in the CO_(2) electroche-mical reduction performance for the as-synthesized catalysts is ascribed to the combined effects of the increase in the content of pyrrolic N,the evaporation of Ni and N,the decrease in pore volume,and the change in graphitization degree.

B-COPNA resin formation from ethylene tar light fractions:Process development and mechanical exploration by molecular simulation

An efficient utilization strategy of ethylene tar(ET),the main by-product of the ethylene cracking unit,is urgently required to meet demands for modern petrochemical *** the other hand,condensed polynuclear aromatic resin of moderate condensation degree(B-COPNA)is a widely used carbon material due to its superb processability,the production of which is,however,seriously limited by the high cost of raw *** such context,an interesting strategy was proposed in this study for producing B-COPNA resin using crosslinked light fractions of ethylene tar(ETLF,boiling point<260℃)facilitated by molecular simulation.1,4-Benzenedimethanol(PXG)was first selected as the crosslinking agent according to the findings of molecular *** effects of operating conditions,including reactions temperature,crosslinking agent,and catalyst content on the softening point and yield of B-COPNA resin products were then investigated to optimize the *** reaction mechanism of resin production was studied by analyzing the molecular structure and transition state of ETLF and crosslinking *** was shown that PXG exhibited a superior capacity of withdrawing electrons and a higher electrophilic reactivity than other crosslinking *** addition to the highest yield and greatest heat properties,PXG-prepared resin contained the most condensed *** corresponding optimized conditions of resin preparation were 180℃,1:1.9(PXG:ETLF),and 3%(mass)of catalyst content with a resin yield of 78.57%.It was the electrophilic substitution reaction that occurred between the ETLF and crosslinking agent molecules that were responsible for the resin formation,according to the experimental characterization and molecular ***,it was confirmed that the proposed strategy and demonstrated process can achieve a clean and high value-added utilization of ETLF via B-COPNA resin preparation,bringing huge economic value to the current petrochemical industry.

Luminescence properties and optical sensing behaviors of Sr_(2)GdSbO_(6):Eu^(3+) phosphors

A novel thermally-stable single-phase phosphor Ca2InTaO6:Dy3+ for NUV-excited white LEDs

The work focuses on the utilization of the conventional solid-state sintering procedure to synthesize white phosphors Ca2InTaO6:xDy3+（0.02≤x≤0.12）.Utilizing X-ray diffraction,the phase structure of samples was examined,and the crystal structure was refined using the Rietveld method.A scanning electron microscope was used to analyze the microstructure of ***-principles calculations confirm that the indirect bandgap of Ca2InTaO6is 3.786 eV,The luminous properties and energy transfer mechanism of Ca2InTaO6:xDy3+were studied using photoluminescence ***4F9/2→6H13/2transition of Dy3+ions is responsible for the greatest emission peak,which was measured at 575 *** to research,the lifespan falls as the concentration of Dy3+doping amount rises because of frequent interaction and ene rgy transfer between Dy3+*** correlated color temperature of the WLEDs packaged with Ca2InTaO6:0.08Dy3+is 4677 K and CIE 1931 chromaticity coordinates are（0.3578,0.3831）.Meantime,the phosphor also shows outstanding te mperature stability property,which maintains 83.8% of its initial emission intensity at 450 K（activation energy of 0.1467 eV）.The W-LEDs retain their performance for 100 min when powered at 3.4 V voltage and 600 mA current,demonstrating the packed W-LEDs' sustaine d operation at high temperatures.

The anisotropy of suprathermal electrons in the Martian ionosphere

Suprathermal electrons are an important population of the Martian ionosphere, either produced by photoionization of atmospheric neutrals or supplied from the Solar Wind (SW). This study is dedicated to an in-depth investigation of the pitch angle distribution of suprathermal electrons at two representative energies, 19−55 eV and 124−356 eV, using the extensive measurements made by the Solar Wind Electron Analyzer on board the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution. Throughout the study, we focus on the overall degree of anisotropy, defined as the standard deviation of suprathermal electron intensity among different directions which is normalized by the mean omni-directional intensity. The available data reveal the following characteristics: (1) In general, low energy electrons are more isotropic than high energy electrons, and dayside electrons are more isotropic than nightside electrons;(2) On the dayside, the anisotropy increases with increasing altitude at low energies but remains roughly constant at high energies, whereas on the nightside, the anisotropy decreases with increasing altitude at all energies;(3) Electrons tend to be more isotropic in strongly magnetized regions than in weakly magnetized regions, especially on the nightside. These observations indicate that the anisotropy is a useful diagnostic of suprathermal electron transport, for which the conversion between the parallel and perpendicular momenta as required by the conservation of the first adiabatic invariant, along with the atmospheric absorption at low altitudes, are two crucial factors modulating the observed variation of the anisotropy. Our analysis also highlights the different roles on the observed anisotropy exerted by suprathermal electrons of different origins.
