Over the past decade, graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4)) has emerged as a universal photocatalyst toward various sustainable carbo-neutral technologies. Despite solar applications discrepancy, g-C_(3)N_(4) is still confronted with a general fatal issue of insufficient supply of thermodynamically active photocarriers due to its inferior solar harvesting ability and sluggish charge transfer dynamics. Fortunately, this could be significantly alleviated by the “all-in-one” defect engineering strategy, which enables a simultaneous amelioration of both textural uniqueness and intrinsic electronic band structures. To this end, we have summarized an unprecedently comprehensive discussion on defect controls including the vacancy/non-metallic dopant creation with optimized electronic band structure and electronic density, metallic doping with ultraactive coordinated environment(M–N_(x), M–C_(2)N_(2), M–O bonding), functional group grafting with optimized band structure, and promoted crystallinity with extended conjugation π system with weakened interlayered van der Waals interaction. Among them, the defect states induced by various defect types such as N vacancy, P/S/halogen dopants, and cya.o group in boosting solar harvesting and accelerating photocarrier transfer have also been emphasized. More importantly, the shallow defect traps identified by femtosecond transient absorption spectra(fs-TAS) have also been highlighted. It is believed that this review would pave the way for future readers with a unique insight into a more precise defective g-C_(3)N_(4) “customization”, motivating more profound thinking and flourishing research outputs on g-C_(3)N_(4)-based photocatalysis.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)have attracted widespread attention due to the advantages of high safety and environmental *** V_(2)O_(3) is a promising cathode,the strong electrostatic interaction between Zn^(2+) and V_(2)O_(3) crystal,and the sluggish reaction kinetics still limit their application in ***,the oxygen defects rich V_(2)O_(3) with conducive poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT)shell(V_(2)O_(3)-Od@PEDOT)was fabricated for AZIBs by combining the sulfur-assisted thermal reduction and in-situ polymerization *** introduced oxygen vacancies of V_(2)O_(3)–Od@PEDOT weaken the electrostatic interaction between Zn^(2+) and the host material,improving the interfacial electron transport,while the PEDOT coating enhances the structural stability and conductivity of V_(2)O_(3),thus accelerating the reaction *** on the advantages,V_(2)O_(3)–Od@PEDOT electrode delivers a reversible capacity of 495 mah·g^(−1) at 0.1 A·g^(−1),good rate capability(189 mah·g^(−1)at 8.0 A·g^(−1)),and an impressive cycling stability with 90.1%capacity retention over 1000 cycles at 8.0 A·g^(−1).The strategy may provide a path for exploiting the other materials for high performance AZIBs.

BACKGROUND Acute non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding(ANVUGIB)constitutes a prevalent emergency within Gastroenterology,encompassing 80%-90%of all gastrointestinal hemorrhage *** condition is distinguished by its abrupt onset,swift progression,and notably elevated mortality *** To gather clinical data from patients with ANVUGIB at our hospital in order to elucidate the clinical characteristics specific to our institution and analyze the therapeutic effectiveness of endoscopic *** We retrospectively retrieved the records of 532 patients diagnosed with ANVUGIB by endoscopy at our hospital between march 2021 and march 2023,utilizing our medical record *** pertaining to general patient information,etiological factors,disease outcomes,and other relevant variables were meticulously collected and *** Among the 532 patients diagnosed with ANVUGIB,the male-to-female ratio was 2.91:1,with a higher prevalence among ***,43.6%of patients presented with black stool as their primary complaint,while 27.4%had hematemesis as their initial *** admission,17%of patients exhibited both hematemesis and black stool,while most ANVUGIB patients primarily complained of overt gastrointestinal *** routine blood examinations at admission revealed that 75.8%of patients had anemia,with 63.4%experiencing moderate to severe anemia,and 1.5%having extremely severe anemia(hemoglobin<30 g/L).With regard to etiology,53.2%of patients experienced bleeding without a definitive trigger,24.2%had a history of using gastric mucosa-irritating medications,24.2%developed bleeding after alcohol consumption,2.8%attributed it to improper diet,1.7%to emotional excitement,and 2.3%to fatigue preceding the bleeding ***-induced ANVUGIB was more prevalent in the elderly than middle-aged and young individuals,while bleeding due to alcohol consumption showed the opposite ***,diet-related bleeding was more common

Background Evidence remains limited on the association between maternal ozone(O,)exposure and congenital heart defects(CHDs)in offspring,and few studies have investigated the interaction and modification of paternal smoking on this *** Using a sample including pregnant women at high risk of fetal CHD(with metabolic disease,first-trimester viral infection,family history of CHD,etc.)from a maternal-fetal medicine study covering 1313 referral hospitals in China during 2013-2021,we examined the associations between maternal O_(3)exposure during 3-8 weeks of gestational age and fetal CHD in offspring and investigated the interaction and modification of paternal smoking on this *** was diagnosed by fetal echocardiograms,maximum daily 8-hour average O,exposure data at a 10 km×10 km spatial resolution came from the Tracking Air Pollution in China dataset,and paternal smoking was collected using *** regression models were used to estimate adjusted odds ratios(ORs)and 95%confidence intervals(CIs).Results Among 27,834 pregnant women at high risk of fetal CHD,17.4%of fetuses were diagnosed with *** 10μg/m^(3)increase in maternal O_(3)exposure was associated with a 17%increased risk of CHD in offspring(OR=1.17,95%CI=1.14-1.20).Compared with paternal nonsmoking and maternal low O_(3)exposure,the ORs(95%CI)of CHD for smoking and low O_(3)exposure,nonsmoking and high O_(3)exposure,and smoking and high O_(3)exposure were 1.25(1.08-1.45),1.81(1.56-2.08),and 2.23(1.84-2.71),*** smoking cessation seemingly mitigated the increased risk of *** maternal O_(3)exposure and paternal smoking were interactively associated with an increased risk of fetal CHD in offspring,which calls for effective measures to decrease maternal exposure to O_(3)pollution and secondhand smoke for CHDprevention.

Neutron-skin thickness is a key parameter for a neutron-rich nucleus;however,it is difficult to *** the framework of the Lanzhou Quantum Molecular Dynamics(LQMD)model,a possible probe for the neutron-skin thickness(δ_(np))of neutron-rich ^(48)Ca was studied in the 140A MeV ^(48)Ca+^(9)Be projectile fragmentation reaction based on the parallel momentum distribution(p∥)of the residual fragments.A Fermi-type density distribution was employed to initiate the neutron density distributions in the LQMD simulations.A combined Gaussian function with different width parameters for the left side(Γ_(L))and the right side(Γ_(R))in the distribution was used to describe the p∥of the residual *** neutron-rich sulfur isotopes as examples,Γ_(L) shows a sensitive correlation withδ_(np) of ^(48)Ca,and is proposed as a probe for determining the neutron skin thickness of the projectile nucleus.

BACKGROUND The abdominal perineal resection(APR),historically referred to as Mile’s proce-dure,stands as a time-honored surgical intervention for rectal cancer *** in surgical techniques and the advent of neoadjuvant therapies have significantly improved the rate of sphincter preservation among patients afflicted with rectal cancer,including those with ultralow rectal *** these improvements,APR maintains its irreplaceable role in the clinical landscape,particularly for cases involving low rectal cancer with encroachment on the external anal sphincter or levator ani *** perineal exposure stands as a pivotal phase in APR,given that the precision of this maneuver is directly correlated with both the safety of the surgery and the patient’s subse-quent long-term *** To evaluate the value of Lone-Star retractor(LSR)perineal exposure method in the treatment for laparoscopic APR of rectal *** We reviewed the records of 38 patients with rectal cancer at Anqing Municipal Hospital from January 2020 to December 2023,including 20 patients who underwent the APR procedure with a LSR perineal exposure method(LSR group)and 18 patients who underwent the APR procedure with a conventional perineal exposure method(control group).In the LSR group,following incision of the skin and subcutaneous tissue,the LSR was placed and dynamically adjusted according to the surgical plane to fully expose the perineal operative *** A total of 38 patients underwent laparoscopic APR,none of whom were found to have distant metastasis upon intraoperative *** blood loss,the postoperative hospital stays and the wound pain scores in the LSR group were significantly lower than those in the control group.A single surgeon completed the perineal operation significantly more often in the LSR group than in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of infection via the perineal incision in the LSR group was significantly lower
