Epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)plays an irreplaceable role in the development of ***,molecular mechanisms of EMT induced by silica exposure still remain to be ***,metabolic profiles of human alveolar type II epithelial cells(A549 cells)exposed directly to silica were characterized using non-targeted metabolomic approaches.A total of 84 differential metabolites(DMs)were identified in silica-treated A549 cells undergoing EMT,which were mainly enriched in metabolisms of amino acids(e.g.,glutamate,alanine,aspartate),purine metabolism,glycolysis,*** number of DMs identified in the A549 cells obviously increased with the elevated exposure concentration of ***,glutamine catabolism was significantly promoted in the silica-treated A549 cells,and the levels of related metabolites(e.g.,succinate)and enzymes(e.g.,α-ketoglutarate(α-KG)dehydrogenase)were substantially up-regulated,with a preference toα-KG *** of glutamine into the cell culture could substantially enhance the expression levels of both EMT-related markers and Snail(zinc finger transcription factor).Our results suggest that the EMT of human alveolar epithelial cells directly induced by silica can be essential to the development of silicosis.

In this study,a new linear friction welding(LFW)process,embedded LFW process,was put forward,which was mainly applied to combination manufacturing of long or overlong loadcarrying titanium alloy structural components in *** interfacial plastic flow behavior and bonding mechanism of this process were investigated by a developed coupling EulerianLagrangian numerical model using software ABAQUS and a novel thermo-physical simulation method with designed embedded hot compression *** addition,the formation mechanism and control method of welding defects caused by uneven plastic flow were *** results reveal that the plastic flow along oscillating direction of this process is even and *** the direction perpendicular to oscillation,thermo-plastic metals mainly flow downward along welding interface under coupling of shear stress and interfacial pressure,resulting in the interfacial plastic zone shown as an inverted“V”*** upward plastic flow in this direction is relatively weak,and only a small amount of flash is extruded from top of ***,the wedge block and welding components at top of joint are always in un-steady friction stage,leading to nonuniform temperature field distribution and un-welded *** to the results of numerical simulation,high oscillating frequency combined with low pressure and small amplitude is considered as appropriate parameter selection scheme to improve the upward interfacial plastic flow at top of joint and suppress the un-welded *** results of thermo-physical simulation illustrate that continuous dynamic recrystallization(CDRX)induces the bonding of interface,accompanying by intense dislocation movement and creation of many low-angle grain *** the interfacial bonding area,grain orientation is random with relatively low texture density(5.0 mud)owing to CDRX.

The fatigue resistance of casting polyurethane (CPU) is crucial in various sectors, such as construction, healthcare, and the automotive industry. Despite its importance, no studies have reported on the fatigue threshold of CPU. This study employed an advanced Intrinsic Strength Analyzer (ISA) to evaluate the fatigue threshold of CPUs, systematically exploring the effects of three types of isocyanates (PPDI, NDI, TDI) that contribute to hard segment structures based on the cutting method. Employing multiple advanced characterization techniques (XRD, TEM, DSC, AFM), the results indicate that PPDI-based polyurethane exhibits the highest fatigue threshold (182.89 J/m2) due to a highest phase separation and a densely packed spherulitic structure, although the hydrogen bonding degree is the lowest (48.3%). Conversely, NDI-based polyurethane, despite having the high hydrogen bonding degree (53.6%), exhibits moderate fatigue performance (122.52 J/m2), likely due to a more scattered microstructure. TDI-based polyurethane, with the highest hydrogen bonding degree (59.1%) but absence of spherulitic structure, shows the lowest fatigue threshold (46.43 J/m2). Compared to common rubbers (NR, NBR, EPDM, BR), the superior fatigue performance of CPU is attributed to its well-organized microstructure, polyurethane possesses a higher fatigue threshold due to its high phase separation degree and orderly and dense spherulitic structure which enhances energy dissipation and reduces crack propagation.

Understanding the mechanical properties of the lithologies is crucial to accurately determine the horizontal stress *** investigate the correlation between the rock mass properties and maximum horizontal stress,the three-dimensional(3D)stress tensors at 89 measuring points determined using an improved overcoring technique in nine mines in China were adopted,a newly defined characteristic parameter C_(ERP)was proposed as an indicator for evaluating the structural properties of rock masses,and a fuzzy relation matrix was established using the information distribution *** results indicate that both the vertical stress and horizontal stress exhibit a good linear growth relationship with *** is no remarkable correlation between the elastic modulus,Poisson's ratio and depth,and the distribution of data points is scattered and ***,there is no obvious relationship between the rock quality designation(RQD)and *** maximum horizontal stress σ_(H) is a function of rock properties,showing a certain linear relationship with the C_(ERP)at the same *** addition,the overall change trend of σ_(H) determined by the established fuzzy identification method is to increase with the increase of C_(ERP).The fuzzy identification method also demonstrates a relatively detailed local relationship betweenσ_H and C_(ERP),and the predicted curve rises in a fluctuating way,which is in accord well with the measured stress data.

By manipulating the distribution of surface electrons,defect engineering enables effective control over the adsorption energy between adsorbates and active sites in the CO2reduction reaction（CO2RR）.Herein,we report a hollow indium oxide nanotube containing both oxygen vacancy and sulfur doping（V_o-Sx-In2O3） for improved CO2-to-HCOOH electroreduction and *** componential synergy significantly reduces the*OCHO formation barrier to expedite protonation process and creates a favorable electronic micro-environment for*HCOOH *** a result,the CO2RR performance of Vo-Sx-In2O3outperforms Pure-In2O3and V_o-In2O3,where V_o-S53-In2O3exhibits a maximal HCOOH Faradaic efficiency of 92.4% at-1,2 V *** hydrogen electrode（RHE） in H-cell and above 92%over a wide window potential with high current density(119.1 mA cm-2at-1.1 V ***) in flow ***,the rechargeable Zn-CO2battery utilizing V_o-S53-In2O3as cathode shows a high power density of 2.29 mW cm-2and a long-term stability during charge-discharge *** work provides a valuable perspective to elucidate co-defective catalysts in regulating the intermediates for efficient CO2RR.

The multicolor Ramsey number r_(k)(C_(4))is the smallest integer N such that any k-edge coloring of KN contains a monochromatic C_(4).The current best upper bound of r_(k)(C_(4))was obtained by Chung(1974)and independently by Irving(1974),i.e.,r_(k)(C_(4))≤k^(2)+k+1 for all k≥*** is no progress on the upper bound since *** this paper,we improve the upper bound of r_(k)(C_(4))by showing that r_(k)(C_(4))≤k^(2)+k-1 for even k≥*** improvement is based on the upper bound of the Turan number ex(n,C4),in which we mainly use the double counting method and many novel ideas from Firke,Kosek,Nash,and Williford[***,Ser.B 103(2013),327-336].

Identification of a novel frameshift mutation in PITX2 gene in a Chinese family with Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome

Objective： Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome （ARS） is phenotypically and genetically heterogeneous. In this study we identified the underlying genetic defect in a Chinese family with ARS. Methods： A detailed family history and clinical data were recorded. The ocular phenotype was documented using slit-lamp photography and systemic anomalies were also documented where available. The genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood leukocytes. All coding exons and intron-exon junctions of paired-like homeodomain transcription factor 2 （PITX2） gene and the forkhead box C1 （FOXC1） gene were amplified by polymerase chain reaction （PCR） and screened for mutation by direct DNA sequencing. Variations detected in exon 5 of PITX2 were further evaluated with cloning sequencing. The exon 5 of PITX2 was also sequenced in 100 healthy controls, unrelated to the family, for comparison. Structural models of the wild type and mutant homeodomain of PITX2 were investigated by SWISS-MODEL. Results： Affected individuals exhibited variable ocular phenotypes, whereas the systemic anomalies were similar. After direct sequencing and cloning sequencing, a heterozygous deletion/insertion mutation c. 198_201delinsTTTCT （p.M661fs＊133） was revealed in exon 5 of PITX2. This mutation co-segregated with all affected individuals in the family and was not found either in unaffected family members or in 100 unrelated controls. Conclusions： We detected a novel frameshift mutation p.M661fs＊133 in PITX2 in a Chinese family with ARS. Although PITX2 mutations and polymorphisms have been re- ported from various ethnic groups, we report for the first time the identification of a novel deletion/insertion mutation that causes frameshift mutation in the homeodomain of PITX2 protein.

Impulsive Consensus of MASs With Input Saturation and DoS Attacks

This paper investigates the secure impulsive consensus of lipschitz-type nonlinear multi-agent systems(MASs) with input saturation. According to the coupling of input saturation and denial of service(DoS) attacks, impulsive control for MASs becomes extremely challenging. Considering general DoS attacks,this paper provides the sufficient conditions for the almost sure consensus of the MASs with input saturation, where the error system can achieve almost sure local exponential *** linear matrix inequalities(LMIs), the relation between the trajectory boundary and DoS attacks is characterized, and the trajectory boundary is estimated. Furthermore, an optimization method of the domain of attraction is proposed to maximize the size. And a non-conservative and practical boundary is proposed to characterize the effect of DoS attacks on MASs. Finally, considering a multi-agent system with typical Chua's circuit dynamic model, an example is provided to illustrate the theorems' correctness.
