The increasing antibiotic treatment failure is attributed to the increasing emergence of drug-resistant bacteria,and the attachment of these bacteria to the surface of implantation materials often leads to dangerous bacterial biofilm formation on the implant ***,this creates an urgent need to develop new antibacterial material and antifouling ***(PDA),as a musselinspired material,has many advantageous properties,such as a simple preparation procedure,excellent hydrophilicity and biocompatibility,strong adhesive performance,easy functionalization,outstanding photothermal conversion effect,and strong quenching *** has increasingly attracted much interest not only for its adherence to virtually all types of surfaces but also as it provides a simple and versatile approach to functionalize material surfaces to obtain a variety of multifunctional *** this review,we mainly focus on the preparation and polymerization mechanism of PDA systems and then provide a compilation of several reports on the PDA surface modification of various nanomaterials and material surfaces,including metals,metal oxides,carbons,and ***,we summarize the advantages and disadvantages of polydopamine surface-modified nanomaterials.

A fully convolutional encoder-decoder network(FCEDN),a deep learning model,was developed and applied to image scanning microscopy(ISM).Super-resolution imaging was achieved with a 78μm×78μm field of view and 12.5 Hz-40 Hz imaging *** and dual-color continuous super-resolution images of microtubules and cargo in cells were obtained by *** signal-to-noise ratio of the obtained images was improved from 3.94 to 22.81 and the positioning accuracy of cargoes was enhanced by FCEDN from 15.83±2.79 nm to 2.83±0.83 *** a general image enhancement method,FCEDN can be applied to various types of microscopy *** with conventional spinning disk confocal microscopy was demonstrated and significantly improved images were obtained.

Temporal variation and sharing of antibiotic resistance genes between water and wild fish gut in a peri-urban river

Antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs) as emergence contaminations have spread widely in the water environment. Wild fish may be recipients and communicators of ARGs in the water environment, however, the distribution and transmission of ARGs in the wild fish and relevant water environment were rarely reported. Here, we have profiled ARGs and bacterial communities in wild freshwater fish and relevant water in a peri-urban river using highthroughput qPCR and 16 S rRNA gene sequence. A total of 80 and 220 unique ARG subtypes were identified in fish and water samples. Fish and water both showed significant ARG seasonal variations( P < 0.05). The highest absolute abundance of ARGs in fish and water occurred in summer(1.32 × 10^(9) copies per g, on average) and autumn(9.04 × 10^(6) copies per mL), respectively. In addition, the bipartite network analysis showed that 9 ARGs and 1 mobile genetic element continuously shared in fish and water. Furthermore, bacteria shared in fish and water were found to significantly correlate with shard ARGs. The findings demonstrate that bacteria and ARGs in fish and water could interconnect and ARGs might transfer between fish and water using bacteria as a spreading medium.

Connate topological superconductor(TSC) combines topological surface states with nodeless superconductivity in a single material, achieving effective p-wave pairing without interface complication. By combining angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and in-situ molecular beam epitaxy, we studied the momentum-resolved superconductivity in b-Bi2 Pd film. We found that the superconducting gap of topological surface state(DTSS$ 3.8 meV) is anomalously enhanced from its bulk value(Db$ 0.8 meV). The ratio of 2 DTSS/kBTc$ 16.3, is substantially larger than the BCS value. By measuring b-Bi2 Pd bulk single crystal as a comparison, we clearly observed the upward-shift of chemical potential in the film. In addition, a concomitant increasing of surface weight on the topological surface state was revealed by our first principle calculation, suggesting that the Dirac-fermion-mediated parity mixing may cause this anomalous superconducting enhancement. Our results establish b-Bi2 Pd film as a unique case of connate TSCs with a highly enhanced topological superconducting gap, which may stabilize Majorana zero modes at a higher temperature.

We performed angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy studies on a series of FeTe_(1-x)Se_x monolayer films grown on Sr TiO_*** superconductivity of the films is robust and rather insensitive to the variations of the band position and effective mass caused by the substitution of Se by ***,the band gap between the electron-and hole-like bands at the Brillouin zone center decreases towards band inversion and parity exchange,which drive the system to a nontrivial topological state predicted by theoretical *** results provide a clear experimental indication that the FeTe_(1-x)Se_x monolayer materials are high-temperature connate topological superconductors in which band topology and superconductivity are integrated intrinsically.

AIM: To study the antitumour activity of resveratrol and its effect on the expression of ceil cycle proteins including cyclin D1, cyclin B1 and p34cdc2 in transplanted liver cancer of ***: Murine transplanted hepatoma H22 model was used to evaluate the in vivo antitumor activity of *** abdominal administration of resveratrol, the change in tumour size was recorded and the protein expression of cyclin D1, cyclin B1 and p34cdc2 in the tumor and adjacent noncancerous liver tissues were measured by ***: Following treatment of H22 tumour bearing mice with resveratrol at 10 or 15 mg/kg bodyweight for 10 days,the growth of murine transplantable liver cancer was inhibited by 36.3% or 49.3%, respectively. The inhibitory effect was significant compared to that in control group (P＜0.05).The level of expression of cyclin B1 and p34cdc2 protein was decreased in the transplantable murine hepatoma 22treated with resveratrol whereas the expression of cyclin D1 protein did not ***: Resveratrol exhibits anti-tumour activities on murine hepatoma H22. The underlying anti-tumour mechanism of resveratrol might involve the inhibition of the cell cycle progression by decreasing the expression of cyclinB1 and p34cdc2 protein.

Efficacy and factors influencing treatment with peginterferon alpha-2a and ribavirin in elderly patients with chronic hepatitis C

BACKGROUND:In China,hepatitis C virus(HCV) infection is characterized by an increasing prevalence during *** study was undertaken to evaluate the efficacy of treatment with peginterferon alpha-2a and ribavirin in elderly chronic hepatitis C(CHC) patients and study the factors related to the sustained virologic response(SVR).METHODS:The medical records of 417 patients treated with peginterferon and ribavirin were retrospectively *** patients were divided into two groups according to age:patients aged ≥65 years(n=140) and patients aged <65 years(n=277).The rate of ribavirin reduction or discontinuation and virologic response rates of the two groups were *** factors influencing SVR were studied by multivariate ***:Ribavirin reduction or discontinuation was more frequent in patients aged ≥65 years than patients aged <65 years(37.1%,52/140 vs 20.2%,56/277;χ 2 =13.883,P<0.001).For genotype 1,patients aged ≥65 years had a higher relapse rate(50.0%,42/84 vs 29.2%,52/178;χ 2 =10.718,P=0.001) and a lower SVR rate(40.0%,42/105 vs 60.0%,126/210;χ 2 =11.250,P=0.001) than patients aged <65 *** were no significant differences in virologic response rates between the two groups for patients with genotype *** genotype 1,in patients aged ≥65 years,the SVR rate of females was lower than that of males(28.6%,12/42 vs 47.6%,30/63;χ 2 =8.150,P=0.004);in the high viral load group,patients aged ≥65 years had a lower SVR rate than patients aged <65 years(30.0%,18/60 vs 54.8%,69/126;χ 2 =10.010,P=0.002).In multivariate logistic regression analysis,the independent factors associated with SVR in patients aged ≥65 years were sex(P=0.020),genotype(P=0.005),ribavirin reduction or discontinuation(P=0.009) and presence of rapid virologic response(RVR)(P=0.001).CONCLUSIONS:The rate of ribavirin reduction or discontinuation and relapse rate of patients aged ≥65 years with genotype 1 are high,and the SVR rate is *** has no impact on virologic respons
