BACKGROUND The prognosis of acute mesenteric ischemia(AMI)caused by superior mesenteric venous thrombosis(SMVT)remains undetermined and early detection of transmural bowel infarction(TBI)is *** predisposition to develop TBI is of clinical concern,which can lead to fatal sepsis with hemodynamic instability and multi-organ *** resection of necrotic bowel could improve the prognosis of AMI,however,accurate prediction of TBI remains a challenge for *** determining the eligibility for explorative laparotomy,the underlying risk factors for bowel infarction should be fully *** To develop and externally validate a nomogram for prediction of TBI in patients with acute *** Consecutive data from 207 acute SMVT patients at the Wuhan Tongji Hospital and 89 patients at the Guangzhou Nanfang Hospital between July 2005 and December 2018 were included in this *** were grouped as training and external validation *** 207 cases(training cohort)from Tongji Hospital were divided into TBI and reversible intestinal ischemia groups based on the final therapeutic *** and multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify independent risk factors for TBI using the training data,and a nomogram was subsequently *** performance of the nomogram was evaluated with respect to discrimination,calibration,and clinical usefulness in the training and external validation *** Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses identified the following independent prognostic factors associated with TBI in the training cohort:The decreased bowel wall enhancement(OR=6.37,P2 mmol/L(OR=3.14,P=0.009)and previous history of deep venous thrombosis(OR=6.37,P<0.001).Incorporating these four factors,the nomogram achieved good calibration in the training set[area under the receiver operator characteristic curve(AUC)0.860;95%CI:0.771

Unlike chemosynthetic drugs designed for specific molecular and disease targets,active small-molecule natural products typically have a wide range of bioactivities and multiple targets,necessitating extensive screening and *** address this issue,we propose a strategy for the direct in situ microdynamic examination of potential drug candidates to rapidly identify their effects and mechanisms of *** a proof-of-concept,we investigated the behavior of mussel oligosaccharide(MOS-1)by tracking the subcellular dynamics of fluorescently labeled MOS-1 in cultured *** recorded the entire dynamic process of the localization of fluorescein isothiocyanate(FITC)-MOS-1 to the lysosomes and visualized the distribution of the drug within the ***,lysosomes containing FITC-MOS-1 actively recruited lipid droplets,leading to fusion events and increased cellular lipid *** drug behaviors confirmed MOS-1 is a candidate for the treatment of lipid-related ***,in a high-fat HepG2 cell model and in high-fat diet-fed apolipoprotein E(ApoE)^(-/-)mice,MOS-1 significantly promoted triglyceride degradation,reduced lipid droplet accumulation,lowered serum triglyceride levels,and mitigated liver damage and ***,our work supports the prioritization of in situ visual monitoring of drug location and distribution in subcellular compartments during the drug development phase,as this methodology contributes to the rapid identification of drug ***,this methodology is significant for the screening and development of selective small-molecule drugs,and is expected to expedite the identification of candidate molecules with medicinal effects.

In prevailing p-i-n perovskite solar cells(PSCs),solution-processible fullerene molecules are widely used as electron-transporting layers(ETLs)but they typically suffer from poor uniformity and undesirable stability ***,a separate bathocuproine(BCP)layer is needed to block hole tran sfer,increasing fabrication complexity and ***,we address these limitations by develo ping a novel polymeric ETL(named PF BCP)synthesized by polymerizing C_(60)with *** innovative material achieves both efficient electron transport and hole blocking,while its excellent uniformity minimizes interface recombination and enhances ***,our blade-coated PSCs utilizing PFBCP achieve a high power conversion efficiency exceeding 22%and retain 91%of initial efficiency after 1200 h of light *** development not only paves the way for commercially viable PSCs but also opens avenues for future ETL design to realize even more efficient and stable PSCs.

In the past decade,ferroelectric materials have been intensively explored as promising *** intriguing ability of ferroelectrics is to directly sperate the photogenerated electrons and holes,which is believed to arise from a spontaneous *** how polarization affects the photocatalytic performance is vital to design high-efficiency *** this work,we report a size effect of ferroelectric polarization on regulating the photocatalytic overall water splitting of SrTiO_(3)/PbTiO_(3)nanoplate heterostructures for the first *** was realized hydrothermally by controlling the thickness and thus spontaneous polarization strength of single-crystal and single-domain PbTiO_(3)nanoplates,which served as the substrate for selective heteroepitaxial growth of SrTiO_(3).An enhancement of 22 times in the photocatalytic overall water splitting performance of the heterostructures has been achieved when the average thickness of the nanoplate increases from 30 to 107 nm.A combined experimental investigation revealed that the incompletely compensated depolarization filed is the dominated driving force for the photogenerated carrier separation within heterostructures,and its increase with the thickness of the nanoplates accounts for the enhancement of photocatalytic ***,the concentration of oxygen vacancies for negative polarization compensation has been found to grow as the thickness of the nanoplates increases,which promotes oxygen evolution reaction and reduces the stoichiometric ratio of H_(2)/O_(2).These findings may provide the opportunity to design and develop high-efficiency ferroelectric photocatalysts.

Photodynamic therapy(PDT)has emerged as a significant cancer therapy ***,cation-based organic small molecule aggregation-induced emission(AIE)photosensitizers(PSs)attract the wide atten-tion of many scientists,due to improved reactive oxygen species(ROS)production after ***,such PSs tend to localize only the mitochondria,limiting the death way of tumor cells(usu-ally apoptosis)during PDT process,which may affect the therapeutic effect under some ***,we designed a novel water-soluble three positive charge PS,TPAN-18F,which could be distributed uniformly in cell cytoplasm and had distribution in different sub-organelles(mitochondria,endoplasmic reticulum,lysosome).The experimental results showed that TPAN-18F-based PDT process can not only disrupt mitochondrial functions(reducing ATP production and destroying mitochondrial membrane po-tential),but also elevate the intracellular lipid peroxides(LPOs)level,which evoke the non-apoptotic death manner of tumor ***,in vivo studies showed that TPAN-18F-based PDT could effectively inhibit tumor ***,we believe that the construction of TPAN-18F is suggestive for tumor non-apoptotic therapy.
