The adsorption of weak polybase on oppositely charged planar surfaces has been investigated numerically by using the self-consistent field theory（SCFT）. Particular attention was paid to the interplay of monomer-surface electrostatic and non-electrostatic interactions in the adsorption behaviors of weak polybase. In this study, the strength of monomer-surface non-electrostatic interactions was set to be no more than the thermal energy kBT. It was found from the numerical study that in the regime of low surface charge density of the substrate and low p H or high bulk degree of ionization, both the screeningenhanced and screening-reduced salt effects emerge. On the contrary, in the opposite regime, only the screening-reduced salt effect was observed. Moreover, the overall charge neutrality inside the adsorption layer was analyzed. The underlying mechanism governing the adsorption behaviors of weak polybase on oppositely charged surfaces was elucidated.

The garment industry in Vietnam is one of the country’s strongest industries in the ***,the production process still encounters problems regarding scheduling that does not equate to an optimal *** paper introduces a production scheduling solution that resolves the potential delays and lateness that hinders the production process using integer programming and order allocation with a make-to-order manufacturing viewpoint.A number of constraints were considered in the model and is applied to a real case study of a factory in order to viewhowthe tardiness and latenesswould be affected which resulted in optimizing the scheduling time ***,the constraints considered were order assignments,production time,and tardiness with an objective function which is to minimize the total cost of *** results of the study precisely the overall cost of delay of the orders given to the plant and successfully propose a suitable production schedule that utilizes the most of the plant *** study has shown promising results that would assist plant and production managers in determining an algorithm that they can apply for their production process.

A new photocatalyst, TiO_2 powder immobilized on polystyrene (PS) thin films,was prepared using a novel method and its photocatalytic activity on the photodegradation ofacridine dye in aqueous solution was tested. By this method, the crystal form and grain size of theimmobilized TiO_2 were well maintained. Compared with TiO_2 powder, the photocatalytic activity ofTiO_2/PS thin films was not significantly reduced. The catalyst is stable and can be reused severaltimes without the loss of activity, which makes wastewater treatment using this photocatalyticdegradation technique of this way possible in the practical application.

Background: Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is a highly malignant primary tumor in the liver, and the rates of incidence and mortality are rapidly increasing globally. Histone deacetylase 8 (HDAC8) is a transcriptional regulator and is associated with tumorigenesis of several tumor types. This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between HDAC8 expression and clinicopathological parameters in ICC patients. Methods: ICC tissues and corresponding nonmalignant bile duct tissues were obtained from 60 patients. HDAC8 and Ki-67 expression were evaluated by immunohistochemistry staining. HDAC8 expression and the clinicopathological features and prognosis of the patients were analyzed. The mRNA level of HDAC8 in ICC was further analyzed using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Results: The expression of HDAC8 were lower in ICC tissues (39/60, 65%) than in the corresponding nonmalignant bile duct tissues (54/60, 90%)( P = 0.001). Low HDAC8 expression in ICC was significantly associated with lymph node metastases (47.6% vs. 17.9%, P = 0.015). In addition, the positive cells rate of HDAC8 was statistically and negatively correlated with the Ki-67 index in ICC lesions ( r =?0.7660, P < 0.001). Importantly, the overall survival rate and recurrence-free survival rate in ICC patients with low HDAC8 expression were lower than those with high HDAC8 expression ( P = 0.008 and P = 0.011, respectively). Conclusions: Decreased HDAC8 expression in ICC is related to poor prognosis, and HDAC8 may be an independent prognostic indicator of ICC patients after curative resection.

Objective To evaluate the sensitivity of arterial ketone body ratio as an indicator for multiple organ *** and methods The experimental model of multiple organ failure was made in adult and old rats by hypoperfusion-induced hemorrhagic shock. After blood sampling, the arterial acetoacetate, β-hydroxybutyrate, total ketone body, ALT, AST, BUN, creatinine at 2, 4, 8 hr in hypoperfusion were examined to compare the differences of ketone body ratio and organ failure between adult and old rats. Hepatic and mitochondrial metabolism were assessed by comparing ketone body ratios (AcAc/β-OHB) and free NAD+/NADH ratios. Results Ketone body ratio in old rats at 2, 4, 8 hr after the induction of hemorrhagic shock decreased from 0.68 to 0.31, 0.27 and 0.22, respectively. In adult rats, it decreased from 1.12 to 0.17, 0.12 and 0.09, respectively. Changes of ketone body ratio in the adult group were larger than in the elderly group ( P ＜ 0.001). The development of multiple organ failure is associated with the time of hemorrhagic shock development. Conclusions There was a different ketone body ratio between multiple organ failure in the elderly (MOFE) and multiple organ failure (MOF) in general adults. Ketone body ratio is a better indicator than ALT and AST in reflecting hepatic function in the early status of MOF. (J Geriatr Cardiol 2004;1(2) :125-128. )
