Effects of ultrasonic assisted friction stir welding on flow behavior,microstructure and mechanical properties of 7n01-t4 aluminum alloy joints

Conventional friction stir welding(FSW)and ultrasonic assisted friction stir welding(UAFSW)were employed to weld 6-mm thick 7 n01-t4 aluminum alloy *** forming characteristics and material flow behavior in these two different welding processes were studied and *** vibration was applied directly on the weld in axial direction through the welding *** flow behavior,microstructure characteristics in the nugget zone(nZ)and evolution of the mechanical properties of naturally aged joints were *** show that the ultrasonic vibration can significantly increase the welding speed of defect-free welded *** the rotation speed of 1200 rpm,the UAFSW can produce defect-free welded joints at a welding speed that is 50%higher than that of the conventional *** vibrations can also improve surface quality of the joints and reduce axial force by 9%.Moreover,ultrasonic vibrations significantly increase the volume of the pin-driven zone(PDZ)and decrease the thickness of the transition zone(tZ).the number of subgrains and deformed grains result.ng from the UAFSW is higher than that from the *** increase the strain level and strain gradient in the nZ,the ultrasonic vibrations can refine the *** energy is the most at the top of the nZ,and gradually reduces along the thickness of the *** difference in strengths between the FSW and the UAFSW joints after post-weld natural aging(PWnA)is ***,the elongation of the UAFSW is8.8%higher than that of the FSW(PWnA for 4320 h).Fracture surface observation demonstrates that all the specimens fail by ductile fracture,and the fracture position of the UAFSW joint changes from HAZ(PWnA for 120 h)to nZ(PWnA for 720 and 4320 h).

Ionic liquid-induced ultrathin and uniform n-doped carbon-wrapped t.nb_(2)O_(5) microsphere anode for high-performance lithium-ion battery

Orthorhombic-phase nb_(2)O_(5)(t.nb_(2)O_(5)) has been widely investigated as an intercalation anode material for Li-ion batteries due to the larger interplanar lattice spacing and high ***,its applications are limited by the intrinsic low electric ***,an ultrathin n-doped carbon-coat.ng layer was constructed on porous t.nb_(2)O_(5) microspheres uniformly via a convenient thermal treatment method with ionic liquid as a carbon *** synthesized t.nb_(2)O_(5)@n-C exhibits significantly enhanced rate capability(155.5 mAh·g^(-1) at 20 C) than initial t.nb_(2)O_(5)(110.2 mAh·g^(-1) at 20C).Besides,t.nb_(2)O_(5)@n-C shows ultralong cycle life,with only a 0.02% decrease in the capacity per cycle at a high current density of 10 *** corresponding electrochemical tests show that the preferable rate capability of t.nb_(2)O_(5)@n-C electrode is attributed to the increased electronic conductivity and pseudocapacit.nce contribution induced by ultrathin surface n-doped carbon *** the other hand,the mesoporous structure of t.nb_(2)O_(5)@n-C ensures fast Li+ diffusion dynamics and electrolyte ***,t.nb_(2)O_(5)@n-C also performs well in a Lini_(0.5)Mn_(0.3)Co_(0.2)O_(4) llt.nb_(2)O_(5)@n-C full *** work provides a facile method to construct integrated anode materials for pot.ntial applications in lithium-ion batteries.

Here we demonstrate a theory-driven, novel dual-shell coat.ng system of Li_(2)SrSiO_(4) and Al_(2)O_(3), achieved via a facile and scalable sol-gel technique on LiCoO_(2) electrode particles. the optimal thickness of each coat.ng can lead to increased specific capacity(~185 m Ah/g at 0.5 C-rate) at a cut-off pot.ntial of 4.5 V, and greater cycling stability at very high C rates(up to 10 C) in half-cells with lithium metal. the mechanism of this superior performance was investigated using a combination of X-ray and electron characterization methods. It shows that the results of this investigation can inform future studies to identify still better dual-shell coat.ng schemes, achieved by such industrially feasible techniques, for application on similar, nickel-rich cathode materials.

Examination of n-t_(9) conditions required by n=50,82,126 wait.ng points in r-process

We examined the conditions of neutron density(n) and temperature(t9) required for the n = 50, 82,and 126 isotopes to be wait.ng points(WP) in the r-process. the nuclear mass based on experimental data presented in the AME2020 database(AME and AME ± Δ) and that predicted using FRDM,WS4, DZ10, and KtUY models were employed in our estimations. We found that the conditions required by the n = 50 WP significantly overlap with those required by the n = 82 ones, except for the WS4 model. In addition, the upper(or lower) bounds of the n-t9 conditions based on the models are different from each other due to the deviations in the two-neutron separation *** st.ndard deviations in the nuclear mass of 108 isotopes in the three n = 50, 82, and 126 groups are about rms = 0.192 and 0.434 Me V for the pairs of KtUY-AME and WS4-KtUY models,respectively. We found that these mass uncertainties result in a large discrepancy in the nn-t_(9) conditions, leading to significant differences in the conditions for simult.neously appearing all the three peaks in the r-process abundance. the newly updated FRDM and WS4 calculations can give the overall conditions for the appearance of all the peaks but vice versa for their old versions in a previous study. the change in the final r-process isotopic abundance due to the mass uncertainty is from a few factors to three orders of magnitude. therefore, accurate nuclear masses of the r-process key nuclei, especially for 76 Fe,81Cu,127Rh,132Cd,192Dy, and 197tm, are highly recommended to be measured in radioactive-ion beam facilities for a better underst.nding of the r-process evolution.

Development and Characterization of Carbon nanotube Reinforced Aluminium-6061 Metal Matrix Composites

An emerging class of new materials is being developed with carbon nanotubes as reinforcements for Al6061 matrix material result.ng in Cnt-MMC composite materials. to maximize t.nsile strength and electrical conductivity properties of Cnt materials and for the MMCs to possess optimal properties, some synthetic techniques are developed. Care is taken to ensure that these techniques are economical in production, provide uniform reinforcement dispersion in the matrix and also realize strong coherence adhesion of the Cnt reinforcements and Al-6061 matrix material. Aluminum reinforced with Cnt via powder metallurgy (PM) technique can provide a very dist.nct advantage. the primary drive and dist.nct advantage in adopt.ng aluminum is lightweight in comparison to metal and wood composites. Besides weight savings, non-corrosive, flexible, resist.nce to dent, low on maint.nance cost and design flexibility are the highlights of aluminum. Aluminum has wide range of application in industries because of their low density, good workability and relatively low yield strength;whereas reinforcement adds rigidity and impedes crack propagation to a great ext.nt. thin fibers are used as reinforcement since they possess very high strength with improved overall properties, whereas Cnt has a number of invaluable and unique properties in comparison to other fibers used as reinforcement. Due to the reinforcement of Cnt in aluminum, the result.nt composite possesses high strength to weight ratio. In this work, the Cnts used as reinforcement with varying weight % of 1, 1.5, 2 and Al6061 alloy as a matrix material. the composites were fabricated through powder metallurgy route. Ball milling was done to get homogeneous dispersion of Cnt’s. BACKGROUnD Patients with pathological stages t.n2-3(pt.n2-3)and pt.n0 gastric cancer(GC)have not been rout.nely included in the target population for postoperative chemotherapy according to the Japanese Gastric Cancer treatment Guideline,and their prognosis is significantly *** to identify the high-risk patients after radical surgery by analyzing biomarkers and clinicopathological features and construct prognostic models for *** A total of 459 patients with pt.n2-3/pt.n0 GC were retrospectively selected for the *** Chi-square test was used to analyze the differences in the clinicopathological features between the pt.n2-3 and pt.n0 *** Kaplan–Meier analysis and log-rank test were used to analyze overall survival(OS).the independent risk factors for patient prognosis were analyzed by univariate and multivariate analyses based on the Cox proportional hazards regression *** cutoff values of cont.nuous variables were identified by receiver operat.ng characteristic *** nomogram models were constructed with R *** there was no statistically significant difference in OS between the pt.n2-3 and pt.n0 groups(P=0.374).Prealbumin(P=0.040),carcino-embryonic antigen(CEA)(P=0.021),and metastatic lymph node ratio(mLnR)(P=0.035)were independent risk factors for prognosis in the pt.n2-3 ***(P=0.039),body mass index(BMI)(P=0.002),and gastrectomy(Pndependent risk factors for prognosis in the pt.n0 *** area under the curve values of the nomogram models for predict.ng the 5-year prognosis of the pt.n2-3 group and pt.n0 group were 0.765 and 0.699,*** nomogram model combining prealbumin,CEA,and mLnR levels can be used to predict the prognosis of pt.n2-3 *** model combining age,BMI,and gastrectomy can be used to predict the prognosis of pt.n0 GC.

Ionospheric Currents in the Equatorial and Low Latitudes of Africa

the magnetometer data obtained for 2008 from geomagnetic stations installed across Africa by magnetic data acquisition set (MAGDAS) have been used to study the ionospheric Sq current system in the equatorial and low-latitudes of Africa. the aim of this work is to separate the quiet-day field variations obtained in the equatorial and low latitude regions of Africa into their external and internal field contributions and then to use the paired external and internal coefficients of the SHA to determine the source current and induced currents. the method used involved a spherical harmonic analysis (SHA). this was applied in the separation of the internal and external field/current contribution to the Sq variations. the result shows that the variation in the currents is seen to be a dawn-to-dusk phenomenon with the variation in the external currents different from that of the internal currents both in amplitude and in phase. Furthermore, the seasonal variation in the external current maximizes during the March equinox and minimizes during the December solstice. the maximum current observed in AAB and ILR is due to the Equatorial Electrojet Current present in the AAB and ILR stations. Seasonal variation was observed in the geomagnetic component variations as well as in the currents. this is attributed to the position of the sun with respect to the earth at different months of the year. the equinoctial maximum is observed in external current int.nsity which occurred mostly during the March Equinox.
