Automatic velocity picking based on optimal key points tracking algorithm

Picking velocities from semblances manually is laborious and necessitates experience. Although various methods for automatic velocity picking have been developed, there remains a challenge in efficiently incorporating information from nearby gathers to ensure picked velocity aligns with seismic horizons while also improving picking accuracy. The conventional method of velocity picking from a semblance volume is computationally demanding, highlighting a need for a more efficient strategy. In this study, we introduce a novel method for automatic velocity picking based on multi-object tracking. This dynamic tracking process across different semblance panels can integrate information from nearby gathers effectively while maintaining computational efficiency. First, we employ accelerated density clustering on the velocity spectrum to discern cluster centers without the requirement for prior knowledge regarding the number of clusters. These cluster centers embody the maximum likelihood velocities of the main subsurface structures. Second, our proposed method tracks key points within the semblance volume. Kalman filter is adopted to adjust the tracking process, followed by interpolation on these tracked points to construct the final velocity model. Our synthetic data example demonstrates that our proposed algorithm can effectively rectify the picking errors of the clustering algorithm. We further compare the performances of the clustering method(CM), the proposed tracking method(TM), and the variational method(VM) on a field dataset from the Gulf of Mexico. The results attest that our method offers superior accuracy than CM, achieves comparable accuracy with VM, and benefits from a reduced computational cost.

Estimation of photon counting statistics with imperfect detectors

The study on photon counting statistics is of fundamental importance in quantum optics. We theoretically analyzed the imperfect detection of an arbitrary quantum state. We derived photon counting formulae for six typical quantum states （i.e., Fock, coherent, squeeze-vacuum, thermal, odd and even coherent states） with finite quantum efficiencies and dark counts based on multiple on/off detector arrays. We applied the formulae to the simulation of multiphoton number detections and obtained both the simulated and ideal photon number distributions of each state. A comparison between the results by using the fidelity and relative entropy was carried out to evaluate the detection scheme and help select detectors for different quantum states.

Molecular Docking of 3-Methylindole-containing Drugs Binding into CYP3A4

Drugs SPD-304（6,7-dimethyl-3-{[methyl-（2-{methyl-[1-（3-trifluoromethyl-phenyl）-1H-indol-3-ylme thyl]-amino}-ethyl）-amino]-methyl}-chromen-4-one） and zafirlukast contain a common structural element of 3-substituted indole moiety which closely relates to a dehydrogenated reaction catalyzed by cytochrome P450s（CYPs）. It was reported that the dehydrogenation can produce a reactive electrophilic intermediate which cause toxicities and inactivate CYPs. Drug L-745,870（3-{[4-（4-chlorophenyl）piperazin-1-yl]-methyl}-1H-pyrrolo 2,3-β-pyridine） might have similar effect since it contains the same structural element. We used molecular docking approach combined with molecular dynamics（MD） simulation to model three-dimensional（3D） complex structures of SPD-304, zafirlukast and L-745,870 into CYP3A4, respectively. The results show that these three drugs can stably bind into the active site and the 3-methylene carbons of the drugs keep a reasonable reactive distance from the heme iron. The complex structure of SPD-304-CYP3A4 is in agreement with experimental data. For zafirlukast, the calcu lation results indicate that 3-methylene carbon might be the dehydrogenation reaction site. Docking model of L-745,870-CYP3A4 shows a potential possibility of L-745,870 dehydrogenated by CYP3A4 at 3-methylene carbon which is in agreement with experiment in vivo. In addition, residues in the phenylalanine cluster as well as S119 and R212 play a critical role in the ligands binding based on our calculations. The docking models could provide some clues to understand the metabolic mechanism of the drugs by CYP3A4.

Cell polarization in ischemic stroke: molecular mechanisms and advances

Ischemic stroke is a cerebrovascular disease associated with high mortality and disability rates. Since the inflammation and immune response play a central role in driving ischemic damage, it becomes essential to modulate excessive inflammatory reactions to promote cell survival and facilitate tissue repair around the injury site. Various cell types are involved in the inflammatory response, including microglia, astrocytes, and neutrophils, each exhibiting distinct phenotypic profiles upon stimulation. They display either proinflammatory or anti-inflammatory states, a phenomenon known as ‘cell polarization.’ There are two cell polarization therapy strategies. The first involves inducing cells into a neuroprotective phenotype in vitro, then reintroducing them autologously. The second approach utilizes small molecular substances to directly affect cells in vivo. In this review, we elucidate the polarization dynamics of the three reactive cell populations(microglia, astrocytes, and neutrophils) in the context of ischemic stroke, and provide a comprehensive summary of the molecular mechanisms involved in their phenotypic switching. By unraveling the complexity of cell polarization, we hope to offer insights for future research on neuroinflammation and novel therapeutic strategies for ischemic stroke.

Black spot is a big threat to the storage of sweet potato, and the chitinase is a probably enzyme to defense black spot. In this study, the two copies of chitinase gene was first isolated and quantitative from twenty-four cultivars. The result of semi-quantitative（RT-PCR） and quantitative（Real-time PCR） were showed positive correlation with the physiological character about the resistance of black spot of the twenty-four cultivars.
