Multi-Field Analysis and Experimental Verification on Piezoelectric Valve-Less Pumps Actuated by Centrifugal Force

A piezoelectric centrifugal pump was developed previously to overcome the low frequency responses of piezoelectric pumps with check valves and liquid reflux of conventional valveless piezoelectric pumps. However, the electro-mechanical-fluidic analysis on this pump has not been done. Therefore, multi-field analysis and experimen- tal verification on piezoelectrically actuated centrifugal valveless pumps are conducted for liquid transport appli- cations. The valveless pump consists of two piezoelectric sheets and a metal tube with piezoelectric elements pushing the metal tube to swing at the first bending resonant fre- quency. The centrifugal force generated by the swinging motion will force the liquid out of the metal tube. The governing equations for the solid and fluid domains are established, and the coupling relations of the mechanical, electrical and fluid fields are described. The bending res- onant frequency and bending mode in solid domain are discussed, and the liquid flow rate, velocity profile, and gauge pressure are investigated in fluid domain. The working frequency and flow rate concerning different components sizes are analyzed and verified through experiments to guide the pump design. A fabricated pro- totype with an outer diameter of 2.2 mm and a length of 80 mm produced the largest flow rate of 13.8 mL/min at backpressure of 0.8 kPa with driving voltage of 80 Vpp. Bysolving the electro-mechanical-fluidic coupling problem, the model developed can provide theoretical guidance on the optimization of centrifugal valveless pump characters.

Hydroxychloroquine(HCQ)is widely used in the treatment of autoimmune disorders such as systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)and rheumatoid arthritis,and in recent years it has also been used in diseases such as cancer,neurodegenerative diseases,metabolic diseases,and microbial infections.(1)Due to the complex pharmacokinetic characteristics of HCQ,overdose or long-term use of the drug will lead to accumulation in the tissue of organism,and severe HCQ-related retinal toxicity may occur.A cohort study in America showes that after 10 and 15 years of HCQ use,the incidence of HCQ retinopathy will be 2.5%and 8.6%,respectively.(2)The clinical manifestations of HCQ retinopathy are various,mainly photoreceptor and retinal pigment epithelium(RPE)defects,some combined with cystoid macular edema(CME),and ireversible central vision loss.

As important precursors of ozone(O_(3))and secondary organic aerosol(SOA),reactive aromatic hydrocarbons(AHs)have typically been classified as anthropogenic air ***,biogenic emission can also be a potential source of atmospheric ***,field observations in a eutrophic lake were combined with laboratory incubation experiments to investigate the biogenic AH *** work showed that the water-air fluxes of AHs measured at sites with high cyanobacteria abundance could reach an order of magnitude greater than those at sites with low cyanobacteria abundance,suggesting that cyanobacteria could be the important contributor to measured *** incubation experiments further confirmed the AH emission of cyanobacteria and revealed that the emission could change significantly over the lifespan of cyanobacteria and varied to their growing *** combining field observations and laboratory incubation experiments,it has been suggested that the emission of different AH species from cyanobacteria could be modulated by variable biogeochemical mechanisms and that the biochemical process of toluene could be different from that of other *** study investigates AH emissions from inland aquatic ecosystem and suggests that biogenic emission could be a potential source of atmospheric AHs.

Relationship between serum Dickkopf-1 and albuminuria in patients with type 2 diabetes

Fracture behavior of sandstone with partial filling flaw under mixed-mode loading: Three-point bending tests and discrete element method

The fracture behavior of natural fracture in the geological reservoir subjected to filling property,affects the crack initiation and propagation under stress *** filling flaws were intermediate between open fractures and filled fractures,the fracture response may be worth *** this work,the effect of the filling property of sandstone with partial filling flaws on the fracture behavior was systematically investigated based on three-point bending tests and the numerical approach of discrete element method(DEM).In the laboratory,semi-circular three-point bending tests were carried out with partial filling flaws of various filling *** on this,numerical simulations were used to further investigate the effect of the filling ratio and the inclination of the partial filling flaw on the mechanical and fracture responses,and the effect of the partial filling flaw under mixed-mode loading on the fracture mechanism was elucidated coupled with acoustic emission(AE)*** obtained results showed that the increase in filling strength and filling ratio of partial filling flaw led to an increase in peak strength,with a decreasing trend in peak strength with the inclination of partial filling *** terms of crack propagation pattern,the increasing filling strength of the partial filling flaw induced the transformation of the fracture mechanism toward deflection,with a tortuosity path,while the filling ratio and inclination of partial filling flaw led to fracture mechanism change from deflection to penetration and attraction,accompanied with a larger AE event source in ***,the b-value based on the Gutenberg-Richter equation fluctuated between 5 and 4 at low filling ratio and inclination and remained around 5 at high filling ratio and inclination of partial filling *** results may provide an application prospective for reservoir stimulation using the natural fracture system.

Comparisons of{100}texture improvement and formability in hot-rolled non-oriented electrical steel by austenite-ferrite phase transformation and shear deformation

Over the years,the high magnetic induction of industrial Mn-added electrical steel is assumed to be the enhancement of{100}texture derived from its austenite-ferrite phase transformation during hot rolling(phase transformation(PT)method).However,it is still undetermined without straightforward experimental *** reason for{100}texture improvement of Mn-added electrical steel is experimentally confirmed due to the recrystallization induced by the austenite-ferrite phase transformation during hot ***,a more promising methodology to further improve{100}texture and formability of hot-rolled electrical steel is promoted by the control of hot rolling deformation condition(shear deformation(SD)method).The results show that the nucleation mechanisms of{100}oriented recrystallized grains are different in the samples by SD and PT methods,which are in-depth shear deformation and austenite-ferrite phase transformation,*** this case,coarse{100}oriented recrystallized grains and low residual stress are obtained in the sample by SD method,which is responsible for its superior{100}texture and *** contrast,the sample by PT method forms fine recrystallized grains with random orientations and accumulates severe residual stress.

Charge polarity inversion and zincophilicity improvement for chitosan separator towards durable aqueous zinc-ion batteries

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries encounter enormous challenges such as Zn dendrites and parasitic *** modification is a highly effective strategy to address these *** the advantages of low cost,nontoxicity,biodegradability,good film-forming ability,superior hydro phi licity,and rich functional groups,chitosan is an ideal matrix for constructing ***,the presence of positive charges within chitosan in weakly acidic electrolytes is unfavorable for dendrite ***,Schiff base reaction is introduced to modify chitosan matrix,transforming its charge polarity from positive to ***,NbN with excellent zincophilicity is coated onto chitosan matrix,forming a Janus separator with low thickness of 19 μm and considerably improved mechanical *** resultant separator can promote the transport of Zn2+ions while triggering a repulsive shielding effect against anions,therefore dramatically enhancing Zn2+ion transfer number from 0.28 to *** separator can also facilitate desolvation process,improve exchange current density,restrict two-dimensional Zn2+ion diffusion,and enhance electrochemical kinetics,contributing to significantly inhibited dendrite growth,by-product formation,and hydrogen ***,stable and reversible Zn stripping/plating process is enabled for over 2500 h at 2 ma cm-2and 2 mah *** great rate capability and excellent cyclability can be achieved for full batteries even under harsh *** work provides new insights into separator design for Zn-based batteries.
