Rhodococcus equi, previously known as Corynebacterium equi, is one of the most important causes of zoonotic infections in grazing animals. Increased cases of human infection with R. equi have been reported, especially in immunocompromised patients, within recent years. We present a case of R. equi bacteremia in a 51-year-old man with diabetes and liver cirrhosis, on long-term corticosteroid therapy after skin-grafting surgery. The patient recovered soon after he was treated with vancomycin. This review focuses on the microbiological characteristics of this organism, and the diagnosis and treatment of this infection.

Damage to electrical equipment in an earthquake can lead to power outage of power *** fragility analysis is a common method to assess the seismic reliability of electrical *** further guarantee the efficiency of analysis,multi-source uncertainties including the structure itself and seismic excitation need to be considered.A method for seismic fragility analysis that reflects structural and seismic parameter uncertainty was developed in this *** proposed method used a random sampling method based on Latin hypercube sampling(LHS)to account for the structure parameter uncertainty and the group structure characteristics of electrical ***,logistic Lasso regression(LLR)was used to find the seismic fragility surface based on double ground motion intensity measures(IM).The seismic fragility based on the finite element model of an±1000 kV main transformer(UHVMT)was analyzed using the proposed *** results show that the seismic fragility function obtained by this method can be used to construct the relationship between the uncertainty parameters and the failure *** seismic fragility surface did not only provide the probabilities of seismic damage states under different IMs,but also had better stability than the fragility ***,the sensitivity analysis of the structural parameters revealed that the elastic module of the bushing and the height of the high-voltage bushing may have a greater influence.

Aim： To describe an unusual symptom of benign prostatic hyperplasia （BPH）. Methods： A patient presented to our urology clinic having experienced post-coital gross hematuria for 2 years. He had not experienced lower urinary tract symptoms （LUTS）. A series of examinations were performed to determine the source of bleeding. Results： The prostate was defined as the active bleeding source responsible for the patient＇s post-coital hematuria. Endoscopic fulguration did not alleviate the symptom. The use of dutasteride, a dual inhibitor of 5α-reductase, solved the problem. Conclusion： This study reports for the first time that post-coital gross hematuria is one of the clinical presentations of BPH, which can be successfully treated with 5α-reductase inhibitor.

Quantum secure direct communication (QSDC) enables the sender to directly transmit secure messages to the receiver via a quantum channel without the need for ***-independent (DI) and measurement-device-independent (MDI) QSDC protocols theoretically enhance the practical security of ***,DI QSDC requires extremely high global detection efficiency and has a limited secure communication *** DI and MDI QSDC protocols depend on high-quality *** entanglement sources,which generate entangled photon pairs with low efficiency,significantly reduce their practical communication *** this paper,we propose a single-photon-based receiver-device-independent (RDI) QSDC *** protocol relies solely on the practical single-photon source,which is nearly on-demand with current technology,and treats all receiving devices on both ends of the communication as“black boxes”.The security of the message is ensured only through the observed *** also develop a numerical method to simulate the protocol’s performance under practical noisy communication *** RDI QSDC protocol provides the same security level as MDI *** to DI and MDI QSDC,RDI QSDC has several ***,it uses single-photon sources and single-photon measurements,which allow it to achieve practical communication efficiency approximately 3415 times greater than that of DI QSDC,while being easier to *** entire protocol is feasible with current ***,it offers higher robustness to photon loss and better noise tolerance than DI QSDC,enabling a secure communication distance approximately 26 times greater than that of DI *** on these advantages,the RDI QSDC protocol presents a promising approach for achieving highly secure and efficient QSDC in the near future.

This paper investigates a class of constrained distributed zeroth-order optimization(ZOO) problems over timevarying unbalanced graphs while ensuring privacy preservation among individual agents. Not taking into account recent progress and addressing these concerns separately, there remains a lack of solutions offering theoretical guarantees for both privacy protection and constrained ZOO over time-varying unbalanced *** hereby propose a novel algorithm, termed the differential privacy(DP) distributed push-sum based zeroth-order constrained optimization algorithm(DP-ZOCOA). Operating over time-varying unbalanced graphs, DP-ZOCOA obviates the need for supplemental suboptimization problem computations, thereby reducing overhead in comparison to distributed primary-dual methods. DP-ZOCOA is specifically tailored to tackle constrained ZOO problems over time-varying unbalanced graphs,offering a guarantee of convergence to the optimal solution while robustly preserving privacy. Moreover, we provide rigorous proofs of convergence and privacy for DP-ZOCOA, underscoring its efficacy in attaining optimal convergence without constraints. To enhance its applicability, we incorporate DP-ZOCOA into the federated learning framework and formulate a decentralized zeroth-order constrained federated learning algorithm(ZOCOA-FL) to address challenges stemming from the timevarying imbalance of communication topology. Finally, the performance and effectiveness of the proposed algorithms are thoroughly evaluated through simulations on distributed least squares(DLS) and decentralized federated learning(DFL) tasks.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of Xiangshao Granules(XSG)on post-stroke depression(PSD)and explore the underlying *** Forty-three C57BL/6J mice were divided into 3 groups:sham(n=15),PSD+vehicle(n=14),and PSD+XSG(n=14)groups according to a random number *** PSD models were constructed using chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS)after middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO).The sham group only experienced the same surgical operation,but without MACO and CUMS *** XSG group received XSG(60 mg/kg per day)by gavage for 4 *** mice in the sham and vehicle groups were given the same volume of 0.9%saline at the same *** body weight and behavior tests including open field test,sucrose preference test,tail suspension test,and elevated plus-maze test,were used to validate the PSD mouse ***-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR),enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),and immunofluorescence staining were used to evaluate the anti-inflammatory effects of *** potential molecular mechanisms were explored and verified through network pharmacology analysis,Nissl staining,Western blot,ELISA,and RT-qPCR,*** The body weight and behavior tests showed that MCAO combined with CUMS successfully established the PSD *** alleviated neuronal damage,reduced the expressions of pro-apoptotic proteins Caspase-3 and B-cell lymphoma-2(BCL-2)-associated X(BAX),and increased the expression of anti-apoptotic protein BCL-2 in PSD mice(P<0.05 or P<0.01).XSG inhibited microglial activation and the expressions of pro-inflammatory cytokines including tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin(IL)-1β,and IL-6 via the toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor kappa-B signaling pathway in PSD mice(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Furthermore,XSG decreased the expression of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase1(IDO1)and increased the concentration of 5-hydroxytryptamine in PSD mice(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion XSG could reverse

Polymeric microwave actuators combining tissue-like softness with programmablemicrowave-responsive deformation hold great promise for mobile intelligentdevices and bionic soft robots. However, their application is challenged by restricted electromagneticsensitivity and intricate sensing coupling. In this study, a sensitized polymericmicrowave actuator is fabricated by hybridizing a liquid crystal polymer with Ti3C2Tx(MXene). Compared to the initial counterpart, the hybrid polymer exhibits unique spacechargepolarization and interfacial polarization, resulting in significant improvements of230% in the dielectric loss factor and 830% in the apparent efficiency of electromagneticenergy harvest. The sensitized microwave actuation demonstrates as the shortenedresponse time of nearly 10 s, which is merely 13% of that for the initial shape memory polymer. Moreover, the ultra-low content of MXene (upto 0.15 wt%) benefits for maintaining the actuation potential of the hybrid polymer. An innovative self-powered sensing prototype that combinesdriving and piezoelectric polymers is developed, which generates real-time electric potential feedback (open-circuit potential of ~ 3 mV) duringactuation. The polarization-dominant energy conversion mechanism observed in the MXene-polymer hybrid structure furnishes a new approachfor developing efficient electromagnetic dissipative structures and shows potential for advancing polymeric electromagnetic intelligent devices.

We describe an unusual complication of coital trauma in a 29-year-old man who presented with a 3-year history of hematospermia and post-coital gross *** urethroscopy under a semi-tumescent penis,an isolated urethral injury with active bleeding was detected at the prostatic *** patient was successfully treated with transurethral *** suggest that isolated posterior urethral injury is one of the causes of male coital trauma, which might be asymptomatic when the penis is flaccid but show symptomatic bleeding when the penis is erect.
