Enhanced red luminescence of Ca_(3)Si_(2−x)M_(x)O_(7):Eu^(3+)(M=Al,P)phosphors via partial substitution of Si^(4+) for applications in white light-emitting diodes

A red-emitting phosphor Ca_(2.91)Si_(2)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) with partial Al^(3+)/P^(5+) substitution on Si^(4+) was synthesized via a simple solid-state method,and the effects of the introduction of the M^(3+/5+)(M=Al,P)ions on the crystal structure and photoluminescence performance of Ca_(2.91)Si_(2−x)M_(x)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) phosphors were *** X-ray diffraction(XRD),energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results revealed that the structure of Ca_(3)Si_(2)O_(7) remained the same after the introduction of Al^(3+) and P^(5+) *** characteristic emission of Eu^(3+)-doped Ca_(3)Si_(2−x)M_(x)O_(7) phosphors exhibited two main peaks at 617 nm(red)and 593 nm(orange)under excitation at 394 nm,which originated from the^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(2)and^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(1) electron transitions of Eu^(3+) *** the partial substitution of Al^(3+) and P^(5+),the red emission intensities of the Ca_(2.91)Si_(2)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) phosphors were significantly enhanced by 1.88-and 1.42-fold,respectively,which is attributed to the crystal-field effect around Eu^(3+).Meanwhile,the luminescence intensities of the Ca_(2.91)Si_(1.96)Al_(0.04)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) and Ca_(2.91)Si_(1.94)P_(0.06)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) phosphors at 210℃ were 79.36%and 77.53%of those at 30°C,respectively,indicating their excellent thermal ***,the as-prepared Ca_(2.91)Si_(1.96)Al_(0.04)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+)and Ca_(2.91)Si_(1.94)P_(0.06)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) red-emitting phosphors were combined with a near-ultraviolet chip of 395 nm to fabricate red-light-emitting diode(LED)and white(w)-LED devices with excellent chromaticity *** summary,Al^(3+)/P^(5+)-substituted Ca_(2.91)Si_(2)O_(7):0.09Eu^(3+) can serve as red-emitting phosphors for applications in w-LEDs.

Polarization-sensitive photodetection and imaging have great application value in fields such as polarization division multiplexing optical communication,remote sensing,near-field imaging and military *** a high polarization ratio has always been the research hotspot in polarization-sensitive *** this paper,we report a compression strain enhanced polarization ratio inβ-gallium oxide(β-Ga_(2)O_(3))single crystal flake.A rigorous crystallographic analysis confirmed its high crystalline quality and ***-resolved polarization Raman spectroscopy(ARPRS)was adopted to study the anisotropy of its optical *** ARPRS measurements and theoretical calculation consistently demonstrate the strong optical anisotropy in the high-qualityβ-Ga_(2)O_(3)flake.A polarization ratio of 0.96 was obtained in the flatβ-Ga_(2)O_(3)***,mechanical strain of±0.7%was introduced intoβ-Ga_(2)O_(3).An increased polarization ratio of 0.98 was achieved in the case of 0.7%compression strain,which is,to the best of our knowledge,the highest value for UVC polarization-sensitive *** corresponds to an improved polarization rejection ratio of *** work proposed a new path towards improving polarization sensitivity by applying strain engineering in the active material.

Integrin β5 subunit regulates hyperglycemia-induced vascular endothelial cell apoptosis through FoxO1-mediated macroautophagy

Gas turbines play core roles in clean energy supply and the construction of comprehensive energy *** control performance of primary frequency modulation of gas turbines has a great impact on the frequency control of the power ***,there are some control difficulties in the primary frequency modulation control of gas turbines,such as the coupling effect of the fuel control loop and speed control loop,slow tracking speed,and so *** relieve the abovementioned difficulties,a control strategy based on the desired dynamic equation proportional integral(DDE-PI)is proposed in this *** on the parameter stability region,a parameter tuning procedure is *** is carried out to address the ease of use and simplicity of the proposed tuning ***,DDE-PI is applied to the primary frequency modulation system of an MS6001B heavy-duty gas *** simulation results indicate that the gas turbine with the proposed strategy can obtain the best control performance with a strong ability to deal with system *** proposed method shows good engineering application potential.

Simultaneous measurement of temperature and liquid refractive index based on fiber open Fabry-Pérot cavity and Bragg grating

A temperature and refractive index sensor based on fiber Bragg grating(FBG) end surface cascade open Fabry-Pérot(FP) cavity has been designed and demonstrated experimentally. The open FP cavity has been fabricated on the end face of an FBG by dislocation fusion in this work, the open FP cavity could be used for refractive index sensing, and the temperature is measured by the FBG. The working principle of the sensor and the method of improving the sensitivity are analyzed by theoretical simulation. The refractive index sensitivity of the sensor is 1 108.4 nm/RIU, while the maximum fluctuation of the sensor stability experiment detection is 0.005 nm. The results show that it has satisfactory characteristics. The sensor is a compact all-fiber structure, so it has potential applications in the field of temperature refractive index sensing, such as biomedical and capacitor electrolyte detection.

Investigation of oxy-fuel combustion for methane and acid gas in a diffusion flame

Co-combustion of methane(CH4)and acid gas(AG)is required to sustain the temperature in Claus reaction *** this study,oxy-fuel combustion of methane and acid gas has been experimentally studied in a diffusion *** equivalence ratios(ER=1.0,1.5,2.0)and CH_(4)-addition ratios(CH_(4)/AG=0.3,0.5,0.7)were examined and the flame was interpreted by analyzing the distributions of the temperature and species concentration along central ***_(4)-AG diffusion flame could be classified into three sections namely initial reaction,oxidation and complex reaction *** oxidation of CH_(4)and H_(2)S was noted in the first section wherein H_(2)S was preferred and both were mainly proceeding decomposition and partial ***_(2)was formed at oxidation section together with obvious presence of H2 and ***,H2 and CO were inclined to be sustained under fuel rich condition in the complex reaction *** ER and increasing CH4/AG contributed to higher temperature,H_(2)S and CH_(4)oxidation and CO_(2)*** a growing trend for CH_(4)and AG to convert into H_(2),CO and SO_(2)could be *** this factor enhanced the generation of CS2 and COS in the flame inner core by interactions of CH4 and CO_(2)with sulfur *** was formed through the interactions of CO and CO_(2)with sulfur *** CS_(2)production directly relied on reaction of CH_(4)with sulfur *** concentration of COS was greater than CS_(2)since CS_(2)was probably inhibited due to the presence of H_(2).COS and CS_(2)could be consumed by further oxidation or other complex reactions.

In the current situation where the practical application of silicon anode materials encounters great challenges,silicon oxide(SiO_(x),0≤x≤2)has attracted the attention of researchers due to its relatively small volume expansion,stable cycling performance,and low cost,which is possible to realize commercial applications earlier than silicon ***,it remains a challenge to prepare SiO_(x)materials with long-term stable cycling performance and high Coulombic efficiency using low-cost *** this work,SiO_(x)anode material with high Coulombic efficiency and good long-term cycling stability was prepared at a low cost by hydrolysis of siloxane and in situ polymerization of phenolic *** hydrolysis of siloxane was further regulated by different silane coupling agents to regulate the size and microstructure of prepared SiO_(x)materials,which displayed the substantially improved electrochemical *** excellent electrochemical performance of SiO_(x)prepared by regulated hydrolysis of siloxane with silane coupling agents is attributed to the effect of silane coupling agent on size and microstructure of SiO_(x),revealing that the strategy of modulating the hydrolysis of siloxane by silane coupling agent is a potential method to prepare high-performance SiO_(x)materials.

Conjugated homopolymers based on six-member rings,e.g.,polyfluorene,always exhibit blue emission and conjugated homopolymers based on five-member rings,e.g.,polythiophene,can give red emission with low *** this work,we report a series of new conjugated homopolymers based on six-member rings with high-efficiency deep-red *** repeating units of the red light emitting homopolymers are double B←N bridged bipyridine(BNBP)with the boron atoms functionalized with diphenyl,borafluorene,and 2,7-di-tert-butyl-borafluorene groups,*** relationship between the chemical structures and the opto-electronic properties of the monomers and the homopolymers has been systematically *** three polymers emit pure red light(λ_(max)=656 nm)or deep red light(λ_(max)=693 nm)with fluorescence quantum efficiency in solution higher than 60%.The polymers can be used as the emitters in solution-processed organic light-emitting diodes with red emission and decent device *** work indicates a new strategy to design highly efficient light emitting conjugated polymers.

Spatial compartmentalization and temporal stability of associated microbiota in Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas

The Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas,one of the most exploited molluscs in the world,has suffered from massive mortality in recent decades,and the occurrence mechanisms have not been well *** this study,to reveal the relationship of associated microbiota to the fitness of oysters,temporal dynamics of microbiota in the gill,hemolymph,and hepatopancreas of *** during April 2018-January 2019 were investigated by 16 S rRNA gene *** microbiota in *** exhibited tissue heterogeneity,of which Spirochaetaceae was dominant in the gill and hemolymph while Mycoplasmataceae enriched in the ***-occurrence network demonstrated that the gill microbiota exhibited higher inter-taxon connectivity while the hemolymph microbiota had more *** richness(Chao 1 index)and diversity(Shannon index)of microbial community in each tissue showed no significant seasonal variations,except for the hepatopancreas having a higher richness in the ***,beta diversity analysis indicated a relatively stable microbiota in each tissue during the sampling period,showing relative abundance of the dominant taxa exhibiting temporal *** indicate that the microbial community in *** showed a tissue-specific stability with temporal dynamics in the composition,which might be essential for the tissue functioning and environmental adaption in *** work provides a baseline microbiota in *** and is helpful for the understanding of host-microbiota interaction in oysters.
